Review 1：The room was tatty and stank of bleach. I had to sleep with the window open, which wasn't brilliant in the middle of January.

Review 3：Room was tired and needed updating for a 4 star hotel. Bathroom a bit grubby. Charges for parking and dogs a rip-off. Failure to reply to e-mail sent, (and recieved) No onsite restaurant facility, (plenty nearby though)

Review 11：Fantastic location on a fabulous beach easily reach from the hotel pool area. The room we had was on the !st floor with a fantastic sea view and good size balcony with 2 chairs and a table, although the balconies on the adjoining rooms were almost patio size with their own sun beds. Room was a good size and the en-suite very large compared to most hotels. Room cleaned every day and fresh towels supplied. Reception staff very efficient, helpful and friendly as were all the staff. We had breakfast in the hotel twice and eat locally twice and although the hotel was slightly more expensive the choice and amount you could have more than made up. Location wise it is fantastic, from the pool area there is a security gate out onto the esplanade and the beach which was extremely clean. There are bars/cafes on the beach and we found the one to the left as you leave the hotel did some decent quality food at reasonable prices. Sun loungers were 5 euro but most locals just used towels. There are so many places to eat in the evening it was hard to choose. All offered Tapas and Paella at similar prices. There is also an American Themed bar opposite the hotel call Barrba Rossa Beach Bar which was the busiest bar around, Great atmosphere and all locals enjoying the music and some top quality grilled food.

Review 12：Our apartment was very close to a club, and as it was a saturday night, we could here people in the street talking very loud untill very late in the night (2-3am or probably later)

Review 25：The hotel bar is never really open and someone will serve you if you want a drink. Breakfast is overpriced and not really required based on all of the small tapas bars surrounding it and at a quarter of the cost.

Review 26：Stayed here before and possibly rated it pretty much the same. Perfect location around 15 minutes from Barcelona central by taxi. Don't recommend trying to cycle there as I know how to plan a trip and still had to risk 1km of the expressway to bypass the port! Hotel holds functions and weddings around the pool and garden but they are extremely organised and prepare the events within 2 hours in the late afternoon and it is gone by morning. So don't let that put you off. Hotel is directly on the gorgeous beach.

Review 27：Too close to a noisy nightclub / beach bar Tibu Ron that goes on until 4am on Saturday / Sunday. When it empties they all hang out outside the apartments shouting and singing. Not good for young children.

Review 31：Room service: Always come in different time. Usually not able to reschedule service and ask for skip visit. Always forget provide shampoo and soap in room. Does not clean balcony. Several times left trash in room. Fridge almost not working. If works provide noise so you cannot sleep. Streets very noisy especially in fridays & weekends nights. When local clubs are closed about 4am visitors continue on street scream and accelerate their motorbikes so you have to wake up. Pool need to be repaired. Children’s pool is dirty but not closed. Hotel hosts events like wedding which is too much loud.

Review 36：The staff were rude, not helpful and dismissive, the room was dirty the towels were old and bed was lumpy the balcony was so dirty the outside furniture had grease and bird poop all over. The hallways smelt and were dirty and no restaurant - not 4 star and was extremely disappointed as I stayed first half of trip at Bel Air which was clean comfy had perfect view and the staff were helpful, friendly and made us feel special travelling all the way from Australia - they smiled and said Hola where as at Playafels they ignored you as you entered and we were struggling with our bags as trying to open glass doors and the front staff just stood there watching and didn't help even after my handbag got caught and I dropped my suitcase - I was travelling alone with a 9 yr old daughter and they didn't help her with her suitcase either as we tried to get them up the makeshift ramp and open heavy glass doors - it was dirty smelly and I do not recommend wasting your money.

Review 38：There was quite a lot of building work during our stay (presumably because we were there off-season) but it didn't really affect our stay, although we were very disappointed that the pool area was closed as it was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. We were offered the use of the pool at one of the sister hotels around 5 minutes walk away, which was perfectly adequate, just not the beachside location that we had been looking forward to. We would definitely stay here again, but would call first to check that the pool will definitely be open.

Review 39：We chose this hotel for it's location right on the beach and weren't disappointed. We booked a sea view room so we could see and hear the waves crashing. The staff were very helpful and the whole place was spotless. The buffet breakfast was extensive and it was fantastic to eat breakfast looking out on to the beach. The hotel was located near a wide choice of restaurants, and it was so easy to get in to Barcelona - 10 minutes walk to the train station and then 30 minutes on the train. It was also very convenient for the airport, only 15 minutes (30 euro). Some reviews mentioned noise from the aeroplanes coming in and out, but we hardly noticed any.

Review 41：The staff were very friendly and helpful when we needed to find things out . we stayed in the apartments and it was a 2 min walk from the hotal . It was 10 min walk from the shops which was very handy also we were close to lots of bars and clubs we had a fantastic night out . Bus into barcalona is 45 mins ish which was fine we had to buy a T-10 ticket from the tobac shop which allow you 10 trips on any bus . The bed was so nice and comfy. We had aircon which was nice and the bathroom was great . The maids came in everyday and gave us fresh sheets and towels and cleaned the apartment. we were very impressed it smelt so clean when we walked in . We loved our stay and will be coming back again . Thankyou

Review 42：There was big construction work in hotel, so there was much noise. Hotel little bit old and need some update, like there was just one electricity unit in room and some things looked very used.

Review 44：In low season, Castelldefels is always a good idea and a good alternative to Barcelona. Not crowded, parking available, good restaurants nearby, the sea in front of you. Hotel Playafels is ok, it is one of my favourite hotels when staying in the region for business.

Review 45：I stayed during winter and it was quite cold in the bathroom, even though there was a radiator in there (adjusting it didn't work). Also had problems ordering food in room (at least nearby there was a chinese restaurant with take away food - highly recommend). However, the biggest problem was noise. There was a celebration in the restaurant, so all the noise could be heard in the room. At least they didn't charge for the drinks from the room bar. In conclusion, stayed several days - some of them were perfect and some horrible, so luck dependent hotel.

Review 50：The apartments are in a separate building a few steps away (say, 50 meters, maybe) from the main hotel. Unlike hotel, there is another building between these apartments and the beach. This means, the sea-view balcony is not really a see view balcony. I was lucky to get a room on the corner from where i could 'see' the sea otherwise the balcony was useless. The hotel needs to put this fact out very clearly with the description of the room so that guests should select accordingly.

Review 54：The check in and the welcome were very "cold". The hotel decoration is outdated ! Wall colours, paintings in the corridor = awful. A remodel and redecoration (to reach todays standards is needed) For a 4 Star: we would have expect a cleaner room (Dust under the beds, Windows and mirrors were cleaned but still with wipping traces; Crushed Mosquitos on the wall...). The TV had only Spanish channel. As mentionned in my Tittle it use to be a 4 Star, but not any longer. This being said it was a pleasant stay for a week vacation.

Review 55：The Hotel location next to the beach is wonderful (with direct access to it), the swimming pool and the parc are great (with sun beds and towels). Breakfast worth the price with a lot of choice and very friendly morning staff. The room and bathroom size are good, with good beds. AC working well. Nice Terrasse equiped with chairs and Table. Review 56：The building is now getting a little tired and a few things need some maintenance. We had a dangerous power socket in our room and the bathroom fittings need an overhaul. We insisted on a sea view room with our booking which didn't happen. Booking.com gave us a price which was stated as the price we would pay upon departure. It wasn't. Take some extra funds...

Review 60：We did order a triple room at the hotel, and got a flat in another building some distance away from the hotel. We did order a luxury room, and got that rather worn flat. Value for money was poor since it was the most expencive place to stay we have had for years. Last year we stayed in a triple room at a neighbour hotel, also a Grup Soteras hotel, better and at 2/3 the price. Had we been given what we ordered, and at a more reasonable price, it would have been ok.

Review 107：This was my second visit to Hotel Playafels. The staff are friendly and the location is lovely. The Hotel is a 1 minute walk from the beach if you want to relax and a 1 hour bus ride to the center of Barcelona if you want to up the pace a little.
