Reviews for Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahía Real G.L
Review 1:If there was one single thing I would wish to change, it would be the policy of not allowing children under the age of 16 into the Spa. As a result of this policy, we did not have a chance to enjoy this facility, as we preferred to spend our time together. The out door pool was quite cold at the time of our visit in December and it would have been nice if we could have enjoyed the indoor pool for a couple of hours a day, perhaps during the morning, when the more mature guests where more interested in catching up on their sleep or sight-seeing? We have stayed at other spas, where it seems to work very well to allow children into the spa for a limited time of the day.
Review 2:I loved everything about our stay at the Bahia real; the genuinly friendly staff, the comfortable rooms and the great food. The gardens are simply beautiful.
Review 3:Nothing for older children like sport facilities. Half board only eating dinner from buffet but it was delicious other restaurants very expensive it cost for one person more than 50 Euro only you get 20 Euro discount. I don't like restaurants so every day we eating from main restaurant. More than 45 minutes drive from airport to hotel.
Review 4:Food excellent breakfast and dinner. Very beautiful beaches close to hotel.
Review 5:The pontoons for swimming in the sea were out of order there was no free drinking water in the room. Hotel guests need to pay to stay on the daybed....very small beach and sea not easily accessible.
Review 6:Beautiful Seaview friendly staff
Review 7:Walking distance from Corrajelo town centre. Hotel is on the beach front. A range of restaurants to choose from for dinner. Rooms are spacious and staff are excellent.
Review 8:The hotel was filthy I recieved a really bad upset stomach that required medical attention and this was caused through poor hygiene of the hotel kitchens and facilities when I told the hotel the staff was not helpful at all I spent 4 days to ill to enjoy the holiday wishing I was home
Review 9:A restaurant outside the hotel because I couldn't eat in the hotel after contracting a bacteria infection from the hotel restaurant
Review 10:Being a non smoker i would have preferred if there had been a specific smoking area around the pool so that i could have chosen to sit away from those wishing to smoke.
Review 11:Everything was Excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely go back
Review 12:Some of the staff was a bit slow and did not understand request or simply ignored them. The breakfast staff was very slow to clear tables and slow to bring coffee to the table. The beach was not nice at all, definitely take a cab to the RIU area to visit beautiful beaches. I cannot believe that they charge €30/60 for a sun bed, ridiculous! Guest smoke all over the hotel, on the beach, by the pool, on the balcony (of the room). The beach was full of cigarette stumps and room smelled like smoke (came in from balcony). I strongly suggest the hotel designates a smoking area, it's really bothersome to have to smell smoke all day long!!! The door by the beach is very loud (closing/opening) so it was not very relaxing, as it kept opening every few seconds. The breakfast in the room was not statifying, only cheese and bread (opted for no salmon/vegetarian). I also wish the hotel had an adults only pool area, kids will be kids (loud). Overall I would not recommend this hotel because the price/quality ratio is not sufficient. The hotel is nice but the amenities do not cut it for the price that we paid. We travel 4/5 times a year and we have been to sooooo much nicer places (sometimes cheaper). I do not mind paying the price if what I am getting is worth it but I didn't feel like I got what I paid for.
Review 13:The front desk personal, especially Laura, were very nice. The location is also good; about 20 min walk to downtown or €5 with a taxi. The nicer beach by the RIU is also about €5 with a taxi and definitely worth a visit, as the beach belonging to the Real is not very nice. The Chill Out area is very nice and Carolina was very accommodating. However, for the price we paid for the accomandation we should not have to pay €30/60 for a sun bed. The sucking pig in the restaurant on the fourth floor was too die for, so delicious. The food in the snack bar by the pool was also very good. The Japanese restaurant was ok, nothing special. It's not a traditional tapanyaki with show, they simply just cook. The breakfast spread was very large and decent tasting. The room was very clean and so were the pool area and all other areas of the hotel. The spa was also very nice and free to visit. The honeymoon special was very generous, we were offered a free upgrade to a nice room with sea view, free breakfast in the room, free dinner and a free spa treatment, in addition to a free bottle of champagne. Very very nice!
Review 14:Great attention to detail.high standard of rooms Resteraunts .Staff always courteous and polite.Greeted with a smile and hola Bon Dias.Beach beds and towels always available
Review 15:Quite a few rules which include gentlemen must wear trousers for dinner in their restaurants
Review 16:Oozes quality and opulence. Staff are helpful and polite. Altogether reflect the 5 star status
Review 17:Beach location was not that impressive. Our bath robes were shabby compared to spa robes had few ants on furniture in bedroom no free water in bedroom. Most of all no special touch on our 25th wedding anniversary which was stated at time of booking. Wish we had gone to Thailand like our honeymoon!
Review 18:Comfortable bed, cleanliness, decent gym and nice spa pool, pleasant helpful staff, pretty seating areas and interesting plants.
Review 19:This was our third visit, there was a noticeable decline in the quality and quantity of the food which was a great disappointment.
Review 20:spotlessly clean, staff very polite and friendly, nothing is too much trouble.
Review 21:Could not fault the hotel. Friendly, helpful staff, lovely room (worth paying a bit extra for a junior suite if you can), excellent facilities, great location and excellent food & drink. Well worth paying a few euros to hire a private bed at the 'chill out" beach club for a few afternoons.
Review 22:Lack of choice of restaurants which were also quite expensive but had no choice as local town not very nice. Not enough for children. Not allowed to play in pools so quite a boring holiday for children aged 9 and 11. No decent evening entertainment.
Review 23:Staff were great. Lovely reception area and hotel. Spa was great as were the treatments.
Review 24:One thing was you weren't allowed to take a glass of water out of the breakfast room as you finished and left.
Review 25:Loved the location, the service of the hotel, the relaxation. Pure luxury.
Review 26:Awful food at coco beach lounge. Noisy clean up starting at 8am. Sun loungers and umbrellas are old, faulty and dirty. Adult pool sometimes overrun by children.
Review 27:Pool, friendly staff, great breakfast.
Review 28:The beach closest to the hotel needs to be better maintained.
Review 29:Excellent facilities. They gym and the spa were perfect and the gym classes were great. The outdoor pools were well maintained. The hotel is perfectly located just at the edge of the nature reserve so you are walking distance from the beach!
Review 30:Not one bad experience.
Review 31:Everything about this hotel is superb -- the staff (everywhere from thefront desk, to the waiters, to the spa) were simply superb and most allof them are bilingual, many speaking English; the amazing front deskstaff can help you with nearly anything, including working withcompanies outside the hotel to book excursions you can charge to yourroom! The hotel was maintained meticulously and its location on thebeach away from other hotels but not too far away from town isphenomenal and the breakfast was the best that I have had from any hotelanywhere else in the world, even topping my two other favorite hotels inZermatt, Switzerland and Edinburgh, Scotland (uk). The hotel boastsamazing restaurant options for dinner, including two restaurantsfeaturing Spanish cuisine made by some of the top chefs in Spain, aJapanese restaurant, and an evening buffet that does not deserve thenegative connotations of the word "buffet" as the food issupreme! I will be back -- If your'e looking to stay in the CanaryIslands, look no further.
Review 32:Wifi coverage in my room was not very good, but that's the biggest issue I had with the hotel
Review 33:Everything was very good, breakfast was amazing. Located a bit far from the city center but that's not an issue when you have a car.
Review 34:Started with the lovely welcome drink at reception. Speedy check in, with our porter showing us around the hotel while he escorted us to our rooms. Beautiful 1st floor interconnecting rooms, spacious, comfortable with a great sea view (well worth the little extra). Breakfast was fantastic, an abundance of everything, including English bacon cooked on the grill. Staff – well everyone one we came into contact with were so obliging and could not do enough for us. They are a real asset to the hotel. All in all we had a most enjoyable stay and would most definitely go again.
Review 35:View, beach, pool, lots of lovely quiet places to sit and again view - super hotel that's far from Busy corralejo but a nice walk in if you want a bit if buzz. Went on my own and felt very comfortable.
Review 36:Long 25 minute walk into Carralejo. Not many places to have lunch nearby. Hotel very expensive for lunch when you have family with you!
Review 37:Hotel/food/facilities great, staff very friendly, in a very quiet area
Review 38:There was nothing we didn't like but we booked the suite which was fab, loved spa. Food to die for , to have food and drink in hotel very expensive ! But very good in all restaurants. Would defiantly go back but will have to save up.
Review 39:I didn't like the pillows. Sounds like a tedious complaint but I was actually a bit uncomfortable with them! The private beach is not so special - very rocky and very small.
Review 40:Location is really good and a few mins drive from Corralejo and to beaches. I felt very relaxed and welcome in the hotel, largely due to the friendly staff and nice hotel architecture. Thanks again to the hotel receptionists who were always happy to answer my questions.
Review 41:Slightly restricted entertainment. And only one cocktail bar to use in evening
Review 42:Staff, food selection and quality were excellent. Accommodation very nice.
Review 43:Breakfast was, if any, the only point in which the hotel lived up onlyto and not surpassing the standards. The breakfast room being on theother hand beautiful and very spacious.
Review 44:Excellent facilities and outstanding staff make you feel at home fromthe very first minute. The hotel is decorated with elegant taste makingthe atmosphere relaxed and classy. Rooms are big and comfortable withall the amenities necessary for a pleasant stay. Cleanliness andatrention to detail are always taken care by the staff, extremely niceand unobstructive at the same time. Pools, restaurants, spa and theviews are just unforgettable.
Review 45:Nothing to dislike but would like to have been able to get a coffee on the beach
Review 46:Comfortable roomy hotel with great facilities. Spacious beach. Great breakfast. Room very comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space.
Review 47:There were too many guests with tattoos, excessive piercings and plastic buttons. Shame that the lovely pool restaurant does not stay open in the evening - it's lovely. The winds in Corralejo were not very reliable for kitesurfing when we were there (maybe we were unlucky).
Review 48:This hotel is a real oasis. Beautiful spot on the beach. Lovely pool. Very nice and helpful staff. Stylishly furnished and decorated. Best wifi I have experienced in any five-star hotel anywhere in the world (there was even a good wifi signal around the pool and on the beach... Works like home; always connected, not an irritating hotel wifi portal on which you need to keep ticking a box to accept terms). Breakfast was very extensive with fresh, delicious ingredients. The best bit of the hotel was the fantastic, up to date gym with great classes. The cyclo spinning classes with Mauricio were super (better than at home)!
Review 49:The kids club and night entertainment were not what I expected. It didn't matter all that much at the end and maybe it is different in high season but for families with young children there is room for improvement.
Review 50:Staff was great, facilities new, everything clean. Overall great hotel.
Review 51:Swimming in ocean not easy . Better at beach closer to town.( for swimming )
Review 52:Liked the fact there is an"etiquette " Suggestions on how to dress in the evenings (no shorts at dinner,...). Breakfast outstanding. Very polite personnel. Big room.
Review 53:There are a lot of insects in the room (ants are everywhere) Very slowinternet - almost zero speed - you can't download anything even youre-mails! Indifferent personnel - they only listen but never solve theproblems Definetely that is not a five-star hotel - as maximum 4. Wehave seen a lot of 5* Hotels and we know how it must be done in real. There are no teas and cofees in the rooms at all!
Review 54:Good restaurants, good breakfast
Review 55:Coffee in breakfast buffett average Las Palmas lunch - had spaghetti bolognese tasteless and overpriced
Review 56:Facilities eg pool, spa, bar , nightly entertainment, rooms, staff, decor, location, breakfast buffet excellent, liked the Cocoa Beach club, 9/10 0verall
Review 57:Twin beds pushed together to make a large double and only one outdoor pool was heated and not very warm
Review 58:Breakfasts were great as were the many hotel restaurants
Review 59:No problems at all but be aware we had a stunning sea view but all these rooms face north = no sun. Internal rooms face the pool but get more sun.
Review 60:Most five star hotels care more about their stars than you but this one really wants you to have a great stay. Excellent room layout. Staff very, very friendly and helpful. Weather too nice to use the spa and indoor pool but was high quality facility. We had a lovely holiday.
Review 61:evening "entertainment" was so loud that it was not comfortable to sit anywhere in reception area.
Review 62:breakfast selection was excellent Quiet indoor swimming pool without under 16s view from bedroom Staff very friendly
Review 63:Not much choice if you want only a light meal at the hotel in the evenings. Tapas stopped at 7ish and the excellent poolside restaurant closed at 5pm. If you're not half board evening meals are a themed buffet at, I think, 44 euros, or waiter-served meals at, alternately, Spanish, Japanese or fine dining restaurants. All very good, but if you want something light after 7 it's room service only.
Review 64:We came for complete relaxation after Christmas and it worked beautifully. The weather was a bit overcast at times but we expected it to be variable in January. We booked a suite to have a sofa area with a sea view and enjoyed catching up on books and chat. The room had a dvd player but the hotel had limited dvds. Bring your own. We spent our rainy day at the spa area which was superb. The outdoor pools were beautiful but a bit too cold for me! Plenty of loungers to catch the sun, either by the pool or on the beach. The beach bars are great (one you have to pay for but sits over the sea). The town is 5 mins in a taxi (plenty available) or a very pleasant stroll along the beach (much longer than 5 mins!). We ate very good tapas and fish and lots of choice of restaurants and bars but also ate well at the hotel. Breakfast is amazing!
Review 65:Little touches like chocolates before you go to sleep. Flowers throughout the hotel, nice, polite staff, nothing too much trouble. Surprize a lovely chocolate cake for my Birthday
Review 66:No issues regarding the hotel, but the town is fairly basic, we found a couple of decent restaurants, but no real heart to the place.
Review 67:Hotel was good / very good in all respects. Courtyard was particularly effective providing screening from the breeze.
Review 68:I wanted a luxury hotel with indoor pool but arrived to find its only for over 16s entry by passport check! (my daughter was15 &10 months). However we had to pay extra for 2 rooms as she was too old for family room! I.e charged extra but not allowed to use facilities. there is nothing else to do at the hotel in winter. Nowhere even to sit & read if you can't use Spa. Sea view rooms lovely view but shade all day so too cold to use balcony. Outdoor pool FREEZING (and we swam in sea so not whimps!). Pool Area full of families huddled under towels. Beach by hotel gets full power of wind so very uncomfortable. Ended up hiring car to go to Costillo beach every day which was more sheltered.
Review 69:Fabulous Japanese restaurant & breakfast. Nice rooms. Reception staff friendly. If over 16 the pool/Spa was nice in a 'genteel care home' kind of way with everyone in ridiculous shower caps. Would think it's a great hotel for retired couples. Very quiet.
Review 70:no coffee - tea facilities in the room, being on holiday means coffee in bed for us which we couldn't do and afternoon tea had to be from the room service... not ideal for the 5 * hotel - first time ever i've seen that! very poor wifi... but to be honest we have friends that live on the island and they say that due to winds and often sand/ dust form Sahara the entire island goes internet free .. so even though i bet the hotels is trying their best don't count on any good quality!! also, the beach area is lovely, but cost 30 euro which i think is slightly too much bearing in mind the rate of the hotel room per night.. it should have been free for the hotel guests... BUT if i ever get back to Fuerteventura this would be the only hotel i would stay for sure!
Review 71:location - superb views and great walks, breakfast - full with great service until the very last guest (11am!), bed - comfy, room (289) quite and calm - excellent! restaurant by the pool where we had lunch every day serve the best paella in Spain (true story!), japanese restaurant very expensive but we had a great food and fun, we haven't eaten in all rest of the places, GYM & SPA - great, one of my favourite places in the hotel was the lobby and the bar - always full of people, had a lovely feel to it and live music every evening - amazing!! We stayed for a week over xmas and NY Eve and we really had an amazing time, relaxed and fun, lots to do around the hotel, far enough from the town so that we have never been disturbed! we loved the fact that its a good 20 mts walk to the town.
Review 72:Yoga class was cancelled which we were looking forward to. The photos imply the classes are outside but they're in the gym. Restaurants lack atmosphere but the hotel was only half full which may be why.
Review 73:Staff outstanding. Comfortable room. Lovely spa and treatments.
Review 74:No welcome drink Not enough service at the pool area, no drinking service, no service for preparing the sunbeds. We had ants in our bathroom the last day (stayed for 1 week)
Review 75:Gym room and spa was very nice Very gentle staff Excellent and very delicious food! Our room and balcony was cleaned very well every day!
Review 76:Nothing.
Review 77:Gorgeous hotel. Lovely rooms. Lovely pool area. Private beach. Great food. Near the town with loads of lovely restaurants. Such nice and friendly staff who gave us great advice for eating out etc. Nice spa.
Review 78:There were no negatives really as we loved it so much but would suggest that tea/coffee making facilities in the bedrooms would be good especially at the rate we were paying. We love a cup of tea first thing and especially in bed on holiday so that would have been good. The other thing we thought was unnecessary given the price of the hotel was charging for the daybeds on the beach pier. Whilst we realise the hotel probably want it to be exclusive surely hotel guests could be free of charge or perhaps prebookable through reception and only so many visits a week before charging. Other than that we cannot fault anything.
Review 79:Everything was perfect from the minute we walked into the fabulous reception area with the beautiful view of the ocean and island beyond. The welcome was wonderful with a glass and fizz and more on the arrival in our sea view room. It was our anniversary and my birthday and the hotel kindly left a chilled bottle ready for us.The views from our room were amazing and we could see right over to Lanzarote. Our room was lovely and very comfortable with quality furnishings and fitments. Very relaxing and we slept in last most mornings listening to the sea.The other areas of the hotel were also beautiful in particular the pool area which was like an oasis with tropical birds. We always had a choice of sunloungers and there were clean towels and the bar staff on hand to bring drinks and snacks all the time.Breakfast was another treat and we never tired of the wonderful buffet and hot food stations. The staff throughout the hotel were second to non and are very well trained and very courteous. The spa on the ground floor was another wonderful addition to our holiday and we have never experienced anything quite like it with so many different areas including steam rooms, showers, sauna and an enormous pool with more water features. The beach area was very clean and with a choice of sunloungers and again drinks brought out to you.Nothing was too much trouble to the team and we felt totally relaxed and spoilt throughout our stay.We ate in two of the restaurants which were exceptional in particular the Cuppola restaurant on our last night was top class. The other nights we either strolled along the beach (about 20 mins) into the town or got a taxi within seconds at reception and went into the old town harbour for some of the nicest seafood we have ever had at very reasonable prices. We loved the hotel so much that our hire car stayed put in the hotel car park (the lovely concierge parked it up for us so we never saw it again until the day we left) .
Review 80:Bedroom furniture tired & a bit battered. No kettle. No foot rest & very uncomfortable chairs on the patio. Awful & lukewarm coffee at breakfast. Poor entertainment. Overpriced snacks & drinks.
Review 81:Sea view.
Review 82:Amazing hotel, comfortable room, nice swimming pool with, this hotel could have 6 starts! The staff was very profesional and helpfull, we arrived very early and they did room 3 hours before our check-in and very good breakfast!
Review 83:I Wanted to rent a car for couple of days. Have asked reception and even received (in a written note from the Reception) a confirmation that the car will be available at 10.30 on the day I want. Discussed where to go etc. with my wife and we're ready to go! After standing/discussing at the Reception for half an hour - no car, no excuse, no apology - you can have another car after lunch. No, thank you for the spoiled day!
Review 84:Lunch was very bland and the only option to eat at the hotel was the buffet at Euro42 each !!! We took a taxi into town where there is an excellent choice of restuarants.
Review 85:The hotel and room were lovely. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 86:Swimming in the ocean at low tide is possible only through the stairs and sometimes they are closed. The local restaurants are way overpriced and has dresscode for evening.
Review 87:The pool are is very good for kids. Breakfast is excellent. View from some of the rooms is excellent.
Review 88:Restaurants are expensive compared to those in the town of the same food quality.
Review 89:Everything, except the prices of meals. A really superb five star hotel.
Review 90:Absolutely ridiculous to have to pay for drinking water per (glass) bottle at 3 euro's per bottle. Have stayed at a lot of 5 star resorts but never have come across so little free amenities such as drinking water, maybe some free fruit per day or some juice/soft drinks. And the price per night was steep... Everybody carried their water bottles from a nearby supermarket around! The restaurants were to stuffy, not modern or fitted to take children. The day beds on the beach and near the pool were sticky and worn out. Could use some replacement!
Review 91:The kids club is very good and flexible. Excellent staff. Swimming pools have a good lay out. Acces to the beach is excellent. Very clean and comfortable rooms. The spa is excellent as well.
Review 92:Would have expected a better quality bed.very hard no memory foam mattress or topper. Al carte restaurant not open on monday which we were unaware of when we booked.!one of the resons for our over night trip.staff had very limited english.unfinished buildings opposite hotel lets the five star experience down.
Review 93:Breakfast was fantastic! !!
Review 94:The part built hotel opposite and empty shopping complex just outside the hotel didn't make for a great view from the front of the hotel A large number of the sun umbrellas did not work The childrens park needed a sun shade - it was incredibly hot there for most of the day There were a few additional tems on our final bill that were not ours - no quibble from the reception staff though who sorted it immediately.
Review 95:The views were stunning The food was varied and of a very high standard The hotel was hugely impressive in terms of the lobby and front entrance The pools were great if a little cold (even in July) Everything was very clean and hygienic.
Review 96:Only one very minor point - cushions on pool sunbeds looked a bit grubby, which let the lovely pool area down a little bit, but didn't affect us as we went to beach each day.
Review 97:Hotel beautiful - five minute taxi journey from hotel to town centre & all the restaurants & shops & lovely old harbour area. Staff attended to every need and hotel & bedrooms were immaculate. Possibly more 4.5 star than 5 star (but room charges were 5 star prices) in comparison to some resorts and countries, but that's maybe just me nit-picking. Would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone - if you're willing to pay the prices you'll love it.
Review 98:- Private beach small and not really beautiful - Yamatori restaurant overpriced with an avarage quality - We have been there for 9 nights and the last 4 night the level of the turn down service dropped dramatically. The room looked like it was half done.
Review 99:- We got a free upgrade to a spacious sea view roomore for our honeymoon - Champagne on arrival - Beautiful swimming pool area - Breakfast with many options - 5 minutes drive from amazing beaches and dunes of Corralejo - 5 minutes drive from the center of the village - staff kind and helpful, especially breakfast waiting staff - free daily access to spa and gym with classes, very helpful as the weather was so changeable
Review 100:too big hotel

Review 107:Very relaxing, clean, extremely friendly & helpful - lovely food
Review 108:Very friendly helpful staff. Good food and restaurant facilities. In fact an excellent hotel in every respect. We will probably return next year.
Review 109:Derelict buildings on all sides
Review 110:Staff were all wonderful
Review 111:Food and beverages are so expensive Water is 5 euro
Review 112:Great hotel

Review 114:The property was always clean and the staff extremely friendly
Review 115:Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Easy parking. Good poolside and beach piers. Manager sorted out a booking.com rate problem very well.
