Reviews for Capitolio Apartamentos Turísticos

Review 1:Wifi only worked when we stood near the door

Review 2:Amazing! Loved the decor and the bed was super comfy. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and had great local tips

Review 3:As tea drinkers a kettle to save having to boil water in the microwave would be good.

Review 4:The apartment was very close to the centre and to the main tourist venues. We were happy with the apartment at the end of a 19 day walking trip with just enough luxury and equipment.

Review 5:The location was perfect for restaurants and sights and the room was artfully decorated in a modern style. Excellent stay in an interesting and well preserved city..

Review 6:The wi-fi was hard work

Review 7:A car park was conveniently next door although we did have to pay for it. I think it might have been !0 euros for the night. Everything seemed fresh and new. It also had a lift! It was easy and it was comfortable. Light and airy. Made our own breakfast

Review 8:It would be nice to stock the kitchen with a couple of tea bags and coffee pads.

Review 9:I wouldn't call it an apartment, it's just a fair-sized room with a kitchen zone which also has a washing mashine. However, even if you're not up for cooking, having a coffeemaker and a refrigerator is a huge advantage over regular Spanish hotel. It you take into account a parking next door (special rate 10 EUR per day, added to your hotel bill), this offer stands out unique for its price. The location is good - the hotel is equidistant from main Roman sites as they are dispersed over the town. WiFi was workable although used to freeze.

Review 10:minor point: Wifi was too weak in the room But nothing else.

Review 11:- great apartment: very spacious, not noisy + offers everything you need (huge fridge, washing machine, sofa...) - extremely helpful and nice receptionist - close to the center of Mérida where you can find good places to eat tapas etc. - parking for 10€/day right next door

Review 12:Large, comfortable, very well appointed apartment. Great furnishings. Very friendly staff. Secure parking beside the building. Good location for walking access to the centre of town.

Review 13:We checked in late, so they organized for the parking attendant to help us. They were very accommodating, helpful with directions. Parking is very convenient. Great location for the sights. Great kitchen and laundry right in the room. Roomy for 4.

Review 14:The street itself is not attractive, but it's around the corner from the town center so not an issue.

Review 15:Clean, modern and spacious apartments. Nice interior design and comfortable. The kids' fold out bed was made and all prepared for our stay. Courteous and helpful staff. Good location. Next door parking for 10€/day.

Review 16:Bed a bit uncomfortable and there was no counter space to prepare food on.

Review 17:Bright, spacious studio. Excellent location and good WIFI. Parking right next door.

Review 18:Requested their parking, but was not available when we arrived. Had to find our own public parking. Lucky it was a weekend and it was free on the streets nearby.

Review 19:Australian mature couple travelling by car. Very clean and central, easy to get around. Lots of tapas everywhere.

Review 20:The decoration of the room was pretty out there, an interesting cross between over the top and stripclub vibe. I guess all the apartments are different, and its the luck of the draw, but the one we had was pretty unusual...

Review 21:Location is ideal with parking right next door. The staff seemed very professional.

Review 22:Excellent base from which to explore the wonderful Roman remains; cool (air conditioned - 44.5C outside); well equipped kitchen; helpful reception; in short, wonderful

Review 23:They charge extra for laundry. In our case they insisted that we used laundry even though we did not. The good thing is they believed us and did not charge so all good :)

Review 24:The location is very convenient. It's walking distance to all the sights and city center. Apartment is modern looking from inside. Parking is next door which is really convenient. The staff is helpful

Review 25:Absolutely nothing. Could have stayed much longer.

Review 26:Absolutely everything. The apartment is huge, with everything you would need for a self-catering stay. It was bright and cheerful. Great location just a few minutes from all the main tourist sights. The staff were friendly and helpful, and helped me with working out my onward bus journey when no one could help me at the station.

Review 27:We have little Spanish and our receptionists although friendly, had no English, so a hotel map which is marked showing a quick route to the centre of the city would be helpful.

Review 28:Great to have so much space after weeks of staying in hotel rooms. Once we got our bearings, we realised we were very close to many of the places we wanted to be. Easy access to Train station.

Review 29:From the moment we checked in, we knew we had found a wonderful place to stay in Merida. The apartment was beautifully decorated & had a compact kitchen with a washer/dryer. The location is perfect for easy walking to all the historic sites.

Review 30:The rooms are not soundproof! Our neighbours had a small child and it was crying somtimes. But the staff was helpfull and offered us a spare room just in case we couldn't sleep. But in the end we didn't need it.

Review 31:The room, the kitchen, the interior, the bed, the shower, almost everything!

Review 32:The only minor negative would be the beds, which are a bit on the firm side, and I prefer something a little more "plush".

Review 33:Very modern and comfortable apartment right in the historic center of Merida. Easy walking distance to all of the Roman ruins, restaurants, supermarket, bank, etc. Having a parking lot right next door was a real bonus (though beware if you are driving a medium to large car -- spots are pretty tight). We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Merida.

Review 34:We were kept awake one night by the TV next door. Washing machine cost €10 per load which I thought a bit silly as it's in the apartment. No cutting board or teatowel. No English instructions for microwave, rangehood etc.

Review 35:Roomy apartment with couch. Had washing machine.

Review 36:No town maps available at reception and the tourist office was closed so we saw very little. Not many places to eat nearby.

Review 37:Near to roman amphitheatre (a little pricey). Elegant accomodation.

Review 38:Terrible wifi despite the attempts of the staff to reboot it.

Review 39:Nice and clean studio at the edge of the pedestrian center with easy access by car and safe parking next door. Easy walk to all historical attractions.

Review 40:Bed was uncomfortable, for 2 persons it bend to the middle.

Review 41:Location, parking next door for 10 euro, lot of space available in the room, everything you might need is available in the kitchen.

Review 42:In over 30yrs of cycle touring this is the first time we have been made to pay for the bikes so cyclists stay away. Weird as this is right on the pilgrim route but i guess most overnighters would not use it (we wanted to sit out the holiday), also wifi went down regularly.

Review 43:the apartments are central and comfortable we were there at los reyes so probably paid a premium price making them not such good value for money.

Review 44:Kitchen had bar table and stools rather than table and chairs. Armchairs rather than sofa. Shower not draining well on arrival but promptly fixed. Some hairs on bathroom floor. Stains on white armchairs. Smell of cigarette smoke in reception and stairs. Could have wifi code in room.

Review 45:Close to main sites. Good to be able to self-cater. Friendly reception staff. Easy to park (10€ per night).

Review 46:The entry is on a narrow alley facing a vacant building. This looks bad. However that building is an interesting example of the difficulty in refurbishing a building in a highly historic area, where it may cover Roman ruins. So don't worry about appearances.

Review 47:Having a kitchen, a convenient location, easy parking in an adjacent parking structure, and friendly people at the desk.

Review 48:Wi-Fi not available in our apartment and there was not any suitable common areas to try for a better signal.

Review 49:An excellent centrally located apartment with good adjacent parking.

Review 50:Very good overall except beds a bit too firm for me.

Review 51:Easy to find, convenient parking, very friendly and welcoming hostess. Apartment clean and bright. Very convenient for sightseeing. Kitchen well equipped for basic cooking. Good bathroom and towels.

Review 52:Not a good idea to pin the TV on the wall when soundproofing is non existsnt!

Review 53:Great location very high standards all round except. internal soundproofing

Review 54:Got twin beds instead of a queen-size, but pushed them together and was fine. Could use a tea kettle, but very nice place overall, parking next door, great staff, and nearby the roman ruins. Would stay there again.

Review 55:Lack of kettle and iron. We arrived late so milk would have been welcome. Fridge kept me awake during night as very noisy. also other noise from elsewhere. Nevertheless good value.

Review 56:Situation we had two apartments. One was pleasant. Other very dark.

Review 57:It rained !

Review 58:The apartments were excellent throughout, all recently modernised and clean. Friendly lady on reception, and good central location. Parking right next door although difficult to find initially.

Review 59:A super place in a great location right in the center of the city. Short distance to all sights. Modern rooms, friendly staff, parking right next door. Super value.

Review 60:Perfect location for visiting Merida and its many Roman antiquities and also nearby Guadalupe and Caseres. The Roman Circus, Theatre and Museum well worth the cost of the inexpensive entry ticket. Staff very helpful and room cleaning carried out between specific hours. Car parking is adjacent to this boutique apartment hotel with reserved parking for guests and excellent value at Euro 10 per day.

Review 61:The open Wi-Fi was useless. Couldn't check email for two days. The room safe was not working. The clothes came out of the washer/dryer a bit damp.

Review 62:First, the location is excellent: easy to get to by car and walking distance to all the sights, shopping, restaurants, etc. But the best thing about this hotel is the staff, which knows the city backwards and forwards. Need to know where to get an affordable piece of luggage at 7PM on a Saturday, or a great Italian restaurant at 10PM on a Sunday night? The staff is on it! The kitchen surpassed our expectations. The washer/dryer was a pleasant surprise, even if there is a 10 euro fee per load.

Review 63:There was a hallway light that kept going on and off. Think it was a motion sensor that we couldn't figure out how to turn off. Very minor inconvenience.

Review 64:I loved everything about this hotel. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, the parking was covered and right next door, and the room/apartment was spacious and comfortable. It was nice to have a refrigerator and kitchen stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. The shower was excellent and WiFi worked great. I will definitely stay here again when we come back to Merida.

Review 65:The room was a little small for 4 people, but good for a short stay.

Review 66:Good location that was easy walking distance to restaurants, sights and a grocery store. The parking garage next door was very convenient and reasonably priced. Rooms were very quiet. There were other people in the hotel, but we never heard them. The kitchen was small, but worked well for making breakfast and a picnic lunch.

Review 67:Excellent room with great facilities, including a washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave, hob and coffee machine. Wifi was good, we were able to sit in the room and watch TV on the ipad! The room was comfortable and well appointed. For a change the pillows were comfortable as well. Noise wise was good - There was a slight noise from the TV next door, but nothing that stopped you from sleeping. All round a great stay.

Review 68:nothing

Review 69:The room furnishings and decorations

Review 70:I had trouble parking my 9 seater van.

Review 71:Location

Review 72:Spotlessly clean, comfortable serviced apartment. Pleasant reception staff. Central location. Parking next door.

Review 73:Central location

Review 74:Short stay in Merida in very nice apartment. Friendly staff nicely decorated apartment , right in the heart of Merida . Parking was also handy.

Review 75:No corkscrew.

Review 76:Good location to walk to all of the sights. Spacious apartment. Lift access. Carpark right next door

Review 77:No spices or condiments

Review 78:Nice to have a washing machine. Room nicely decorated.

Review 79:Beautifully appointed. Excellent location. Convenient and reasonably priced parking (a rarity in Spain)

Review 80:The appartment is very well decorated and near the main points for visiting.

Review 81:Nothing bad except the derelict building opposite.

Review 82:Right in the centre of Merida with a car park next door. Very helpful staff

Review 83:The two chairs were very comfortable, but useless as dining chairs.. The decor was pretty loud!

Review 84:Modern, functional apartment with parking next door.

Review 85:Nothing!

Review 86:Modern, stylish and well equipped with very comfortable beds. Great value for money.

Review 87:El apartamento es muy bonito y comodo

Review 88:Could not connect to wifi.

Review 89:Quiet side street close to tourist office and train station. Reception was very polite and accomodating.

Review 90:No internet. They should change this on the booking page. They made no apologies about it either.

Review 91:Good location.

Review 92:5 minute walk from main sites of amphitheatre / theatre / museum Easy parking next door (10 euros / day) Plenty of space in apartment

Review 93:Absolutely nothing.

Review 94:Absolutely fantastic. Loved the funky room design. Great location. Fantastic value for money.

Review 95:excellent location near main Roman sites. Great parking right next door.Friendly and very helpful staff

Review 96:Nothing.

Review 97:Great location.

Review 98:clothes washing machine hard to use, didn't,t dry well

Review 99:Good looking, full kitchen, good size beds

Review 100:Clean Good kitchen comfortable bed clean linen friendly staff

Review 101:Nice and clean

Review 102:As with all Spanish hotels the pillow was of the long thin variety. I'm sure another could have been supplied but we were only staying 1 night.

Review 103:Good location. Very helpful staff, especially Barbara who booked us in and gave excellent directions for eating and sightseeing. Parking next door (10€/day)

Review 104:Finding the access to the street was a little tricky as is often the case in or near historic centres.

Review 105:Liked the convenient covered parking right beside the hotel. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Room was modern and comfortable with a nice kitchen which we would have appreciated more had we been staying longer. Easy walking distance to the historic sights.

Review 106:Nothing to dislike

Review 107:Everything. This apartment was well located, spacious, clean, comfortable and pleasantly decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Review 108:nothing.

Review 109:Affordable parking next door, close to sights, bars and restaurants. Washing machine, good quality sparkling bathroom, good bed, new kitchen, good size of apartment, no tiles on the main floor area, bright and light if needed. Everything worked and there was a place for everything. We liked Merida and Capitolio so much that we returned for 2 more nights. The Museo Nacional de Arte Romano is a must see. In fact Merida was our favourite city in Extramadura.

Review 110:Wifi was slow in my room, but maybe it had to do with its location inside the building

Review 111:Central location, interesting decoration, extra clean room and bathroom, fully equiped kitchen. Covered parking just next door. A very pleasant hotel altogether.

Review 112:Absolutely loved the location; walking distance to all the main sights. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Rooms were a little strange, but we loved it. Will definitely come back again.

Review 113:1. Checking-in I was told that no password for Wi-Fi is needed. It proved to be true: not having any possibility to connect Wi-Fi in the room, you really don't need any password. 2. At 1130 the receptionist started to bother my wife, that remained in the room, about check-out, didn't except her answer that we'll do it before 1200, and called here twice more.

Review 114:The apartment and the location

Review 115:Very convenient location. It was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed having the extra space and having "breakfast at home". Recommended.

Review 116:There is an extra cost for using the washer/dryer Very cramped reception

Review 117:Great apartment. Comfortable, clean, convenient Excellent location Convenient parking on site Good service and thoughtful staff since they left us a small bottle of wine for our anniversary

Review 118:This apartment was well located and it also has the parking station right next door. The facilities within the apartment were good and it was also quite roomy.

Review 119:This time there was a lack of kitchen stuff and not having an oven is a bit of a pain.

Review 120:We've stayed a few times now and I really like it. Very clean, spacious and great when you have young kids. They always put two travel cots in the room and there's a sofa bed too for our son with no extra charge.

Review 121:There was no toilet paper. Wierd bathroom setup. Everyone in the same room for a relatively high price. very narrow walkway to the next door parking garage next door.

Review 122:The place fulfilled the role for us of staying one night in Merida. Very helpful staff manning the front desk.

Review 123:The parking facilities. Whilst right next to the apartments we still found the fee to be a little excessive.

Review 124:The decor of the rooms, the exceptional cleanliness, the standard of self catering equipment i.e.modern appliances. The location was excellent from the outset as we had intended to visit all the Roman ruins.

Review 125:Staff is not great at English language, but their friendliness makes up for that.

Review 126:What is there not to like...? Great place, great price, everything you need for a few days, including free wifi.

The Fine Print
