Review 1：It was cold in the room, especially the bathroom (we were there in mid-November). The rooms are a bit shabby, it needs refurbishing?
Review 2：Location, ideal starting point for a tour of Verdon gorge. Dinner was very good.
Review 3：Room was too cold even with the heater on. Bedspreads were made of nylon/polyester so they slipped off the beds. Television was too small and not well located on the wall. No decor or color on the walls - gloomy.
Review 4：We had to wait more than half an hour as the Auberge didn't open in time in the afternoon. Then the receptionist lady did't ask for apology. Hot and cold water were mismatched. The bathroom was tiny.
Review 5：Hotel was not great but fine for what we needed. Rooms are dated and bathrooms are tired. As we were out most of time this really wasn't an issue.

Review 15：The shower was a bit flaky, which meant water was leaking on the side of the wall if you didn't keep the curtain completely closed. The leaking itself was not so bad but because the bathroom does not have a high doorstep, it flowed into the room! The rooms are tiled so it was easy to clean.
Review 16：Great atmosphere, looks like an old place but in a good way; the room we stayed in was tiled with very typical hexagon style earthenware coloured tiles, looked very authentic and cool. Clean and friendly staff, no surprises with the bill!
Review 17：REception closes at 8pm, we were given keys for the door - no problem. However on our return we couldn't get in! We weren't told there were two locks on the door and to use the one you can't really see as opposed to the one you can actually see! We phoned the hotel, put through to answerphone mentioning the sister hotel over the road, so we went there and someone kindly came over with us to show us. Apparently many people have this problem...
Review 18：Traditional hotel. Basic, no frills, but very clean room. We stayed in a 'superior' room but was shown a 'normal' room as well superior was a bit bigger which suited us better

Location perfect, staff outstanding, comfort excellent and the best view from my window on the town square, just in time for Market Day. I hope to come back some day to enjoy your village and stay in this wonderful hotel Please don't change anything, I loved as it is.

Review 25：The staffs behavior when we arrived. Instead off wishing us wellcome they said that we should not park our car in their free parkingplace because other guests have priority. We were not allowed to choose table at breakfast. The staff showed us a table at the cold entrance. Of course we did not have any breakfast. The room was very cold when we checked in. Took over one hour to fix a heater.

Hotel does not record licence plate numbers of cars in its car park, so cannot relate a car to its owner; when a guest parks stupidly, the culprit cannot be located!

Review 90：Each time we talked to the staff, we felt like we were disturbing them - I had to apologize several times when asking for some wine on the patio, as the front desk person was about to sit down for dinner and no other servers were available. And when we finally were served, it was very low quality white wine from a box that they charged us 5€ per glass (more expensive than in Paris!) The room was sparse but adequate and relatively clean (though I did find hairs on the towels in the bathroom). The general feel of the hotel was that nothing has been updated or changed for about 20 years (decor, facilities, fixtures, etc). They could do with a revamping and it could be a nice lovely auberge. Not worth the 100€ we spent.
Review 91：The location in the center of Castellane was excellent and allowed us to enjoy the charming little village during the evening. We could hear the Verdon river out our window at night and the view was pleasant. We unfortunately didn't eat at the restaurant, but heard wonderful compliments by other diners. Breakfast included fresh bread and pastries, but cheap jams and butter and boxed orange juice. It was the cheapest hotel we found in Castellane for the high tourist season.
