Reviews for Cortijo Bravo
Review 1:Breakfast super, but no lunch possibility (not a deal breaker). Dinner was available, but compared with the otherwise high standard, did not match. The food as such ok, more a "Im hungry - need a warm meal" and the beautiful scenery holds you captured rather than the sensation of good taste. Luckily there are vast of good restaurants down at the beach (10 km by car), so you need to plan a little ahead.
Review 2:Overall a very peaceful environment, superb location, free off traffic noise. A must for couples looking for a nice / romantic getaway with an affordable taste of luxury (= space and time only for you)
Review 3:As is is small & exclusive with stone floors, if one person wears high heels, all rooms can hear them!
Review 4:Amazing location, unbelievable views, unique rooms, staff more than obliging.
Review 5:Pool area could be better. More sun beds needed (some broken) and pool could be cleaner. Fresh, sliced, fruit for breakfast would be good (as it used to be) instead of whole apples/oranges. Pity as everything else was good.
Review 6:The location is beautiful and very peaceful - so relaxing, with lively decor. Staff very friendly.
Review 7:The area at the pool has become a little overgrown, perhaps this is because it was the end of the season? The menu in the restaurant has changed and unfortunately not for the better.
Review 8:The overall look and feel of the Cortijo Bravo is head and shoulders of everything else in the area. If you are looking for a complete 'get away from everything' this is the place for you. Each room is individually styled in keeping with the rustic theme and the hotel itself is set amid a wealth of green orchards
Review 9:Description. :Wifi all areas. Actual. 2Metre range in the public area.:Sound proof rooms. Not at all. :Stains on the room floor, cushions andfabrics in a very poor state very dirty. :Swimming pool a disgrace verydirty, sun beds all broken. The photos in the description very misleadingI have taken some that reflect the true picture. This trip was for ourSilver anniversary so not that pleased.
Review 10:The staff. Very helpful big pat on the back.
Review 11:Waiting staff were not great. Only served white wine at meal when they should have asked guests if they wanted red, white or beer. Open bar did not have a great range of drinks.
Review 12:Amazing venue, amazing wedding. Food great.
Review 13:Food was poor, had one decent meal but a further one we could not eat, breakfast of a poor standard, metal strand found in scrambled egg.Swimming pool area could be better, broken chairs and pool needed a clean,
Review 14:The views and location are great, rooms are lovely
Review 15:Broken parasols and beds at the pool; broken airconditioning, flooded toilet, wifi doesn't work, self-service-breakfast: coffee from a machine!, low-quality ham and cheese, no extra services: no boiled eggs, no espresso, etc.
Review 16:Location is perfect and the hotel is beautifull.
Review 17:The only fault was that the staff only served white wine with meal unless you asked for red or beer and guests did not know they could ask, so I felt this was a bit strange
Review 18:We had our wedding in Cortijo Bravo, and I can only say it was simply breathtaking and out of this world! Couldn't have been any better!
Review 19:Wi Fi was sometimes difficult to get and was slow when it was available but I guess that's the location
Review 20:The hotel has a wonderful setting - great views and really tranquil. Staff are very helpful and our stay was just super.
Review 21:nothing
Review 22:I really love this hotel it is up the mountains and has not got anything around it only vineyards. it is so peaceful and the staff are brilliant could not do enough for you. The rooms are fantastic the one I had, had an 180 degree view of the countryside, I stayed here last year for one night a wedding so decided to go back again and was not disappointed at its just a fantastic place.
Review 23:Room number12 is perfect
Review 24:Calm,original
Review 25:I liked it all a very comfortable friendly place to stay great for relaxing
Review 26:Very peaceful and relaxing. Exactly what we wanted.
Review 27:No wifi access in our room.
Review 28:Beautiful location, fabulous views. Very nice rooms. comfortable bed.
Review 29:Basically, no facilities during the day (eg Brunch/Lunch). Also, bar selection very poor.
Review 30:Nice views
Review 31:The meals served during diner were not that great.
Review 32:Location was perfect! The staff very nice and the hotel beautiful.
Review 33:The bikes had flat tires and there was no pump available
Review 34:Attended a wedding here. Pleasant location but food has to be the poorest quality I ever had.
Review 35:Pleasant location with good views
Review 36:Magical surroundings
Review 37:Most staff were not as warm and friendly as we are used to. Menu very limited and expensive. Had to ask for fresh towels after 7 nights at hotel, when staying for 10 nights. WiFi was limited to next to the modem and close vicinity, not available in bedroom. Pool furniture needs refreshing. Little things in room needed fixing - chandelier hanging from ceiling from wires, shelving a bit loose. bike hire didn't provide helmets or locks so couldn't leave bikes out of sight.
Review 38:Location superb. Welcome by lady receptionist in arrival good. Breakfast good. General ambiance good. Deluxe bedroom lovely furniture & decor. Swimming pool good.
Review 39:Bathroom needs maintenance. Dinner is expensive compared to Spanish restaurants. Swimming pool not very clean There is very little staff in the hotel during the breakfast / day.
Review 40:excellent location
Review 41:Complete absence of staff. The hotel is understaffed. It is almost always necessary to ring a bell in reception to find someone or hang around outside the kitchen in the hope of catching someone. The restaurant is like a grave and some of the food tasted liked it has been there too. The restaurant is extremely expensive, the food mostly frozen and not surprisingly we were the only people in the dining room on the night we ate there. Value for money was poor all round. My friend checked in a day early alone and asked for a single room - he was put in the room we had for the 4 following nights and charged the same rate without any discussion - was told "all OK" but we were confronted with the bill on departure. I would never return to this place, lovely though the building and location are. Cortijo Bravo needs to raise its game. Staff were polite enough when you could find them but my overall impression was of a place that has lost its direction. There was no sense whatsoever of it being actively managed by anyone.
Review 42:Location. Building. Gardens. Quiet. Comfort.
Review 43:Would have been nice if the pool had been operational (but we were warned it would not be open till Summer.
Review 44:Stylish hotel, excellent value for money. Friendly staff Breakfast included Beautiful location Calm and relaxing feel Comfy beds
Review 45:We stayed one night and that was enough. The wifi in the hotelroom was bad (poor reception) The dinner was just "ok". In my opinion not up to the standard to what I have eaten in the other Cortijo's in Andalusia. Bathroom could have cleaner (hairs on the floor that were not ours!)
Review 46:Room was nice. Location and parkingfacilities are good.
Review 47:Not enough soundproofing. Late at night I was kept awake by other guests who were simply walking around, showering and talking.
Review 48:Very comfortable. Food very good. Excellent position.
Review 49:No restaurants/bars etc walking distance from the hotel. Velez malaga (the nearby village) is not overly attractive, so if you want to have dinner/a drink away from the hotel the closest option is to bike/drive to Torre del Mar (5km)
Review 50:Beautiful location (gardens/pool). Excellent service, the staff spoke perfect english and were able to give us good tips on sightseeing. The hotel has a couple of bikes for use by the guests, it's an easy 30 mn bike ride to the beach. Full continental breakfast, had dinner once in the restaurant, food was excellent. Nice (but not overly large) rooms. As mentioned the hotel has a beautiful and expansive garden with a swimming pool. Easy acces from the hotel to the highway for trips to Malaga, Granada, Nerja etc etc
Review 51:We have stayed here before and felt the building/room was looking a little shabbier. The attention to detail that was there before in terms of cleanliness and upkeep of rooms wasnt as good. It might be time of year and due a refurb before the season starts.
Review 52:This is a beautiful hotel, we stayed in one of the terrace rooms and it was lovely to have the view. Staff were always helpful, we left early and they prepared us a picnic to take with us which was a lovely gesture. We think this hotel is a little gem, please take care of it!
Review 53:Nothing to critizise - you just need a car to get there ;-)
Review 54:location in the nature, not too far from the sea. Quietness, super friendly staff, nice interior, not too many children. Parking in front of the hotel. Breakfast included in the nights booking. Great place to return to!
Review 55:Lunch and dinner menus were limited and the food was, frankly, poor. No access to drinks outside of restaurant opening hours.
Review 56:Very clean, light and airy. Beautiful setting and views. Lovely terrace for breakfast. Very secluded and relaxed
Review 57:We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. Location was perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were of a very high standard in terms of cleanliness. Would welcome a full length mirror in the rooms. Highly recommended
Review 58:The dried up powdered scrambled eggs for breakfast every day . Breakfast very poor
Review 59:Rooms are very nice decor beautiful
Review 60:The breakfast was poor because the eggs were dreadful presentation.
Review 61:The area and every thing else was very good
Review 62:I missed some local fruit at breakfast (melon, strawberries) Limited knowledge of foreign languages (1 exception)
Review 63:wi fi didn't work very well at all
Review 64:great location and price
Review 65:looks tired with minimum attention to detail. The surrounding gardens and pool area were a dissapointment.
