Reviews for Hotel Plaza Inn
Review 1:The beds!!! Awfully hard and the hotel is a little noisy from other rooms. Breakfast wasn't great, better to go to the cafe a couple of doors down.
Review 2:Quirky little hotel with lots of character in a great location for shops, restaurants and the Dali Museum. Secure covered parking available (limited spaces so book!) but at 10 euros a day it's a little pricey. Staff were helpful and friendly,
Review 3:Loved the Dali-esque wackiness of this place. Art work from every genre everywhere. Staff were lovely and the biggest bed I have ever seen. Immaculately clean and very handy to the Dali museum.
Review 4:Wifi didn't work in the room.
Review 5:Very near to Dali Museum, shops and walking distance to Spar Supermarket. We were happy that the hotel gave us a spacious room with terrace/ balcony. The room is full of beautiful paintings on the wall and bathroom is luxury.
Review 6:Central location for walking to a choice of restaurants and the Dali museum. Despite the extraordinary decor in the public areas and on the exterior, the room was comfortable and conventional.
Review 7:Although the hotel had free parking spaces, we were not allowed to park our car there. I know for what were they keeping them. The nearby parking was very expensive. For that reason we parked the car on the side of the street and got an even more expensive fine.
Review 8:Beautifully decorated, in tone with the location. Clean and cosy. Staff tried to be helpfull although they were speaking English very poorly.
Review 9:Street side room was a little noisy...especially the mad bell ringer that rang the church bells at all ours of the night...and not even on the hour...just seemed like whenever the hell he felt like it.
Review 10:If you're visiting the Dali museum...and you probably are...you could not want a better location. Literally 2 mins away. Funky and unusual. Loved it.
Review 11:The bedroom absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke, even our clothes smelt like it the next day. The air conditioning unit was making a noise like it was going, but was absolutely hopeless, so bad that we thought it was blowing hot air, over the day and night we tried every setting with no change. It got so bad I put wet towels on myself in the night. It wasn't just our room, my sister and her man were in a nearby room and had exactly the same issue with the air con. And it wasn't even hot outside only about 20c, I would hate to be there on a hot day. I mentioned it to the unfriendly women on reception who looked like she didn't believe us, there was no apology or "we'll look into it" just a stare!! I saw on previous reviews that others had mentioned the non working air con.
Review 12:We chose this hotel as it was close to the Salvador Dali museum and looked like it had fun, quirky objects and atmosphere in keeping with Dali, which it did kind of - but present day seems to have sucked all the fun out of the place. The adult sized clown on our balcony had part of his face missing which turned him into a Stephen King creepy IT version. On the good side the wee lady who served us breakfast was lovely and the food was good.
Review 13:the beds were much too hard for us, but thats definitly an individual view - others might like it..
Review 14:perfect and nice hotel, friendly people, nice location
Review 15:The shower is a bit small and none of the staff spoke much English.
Review 16:The hotel is located just steps from the center of town; close to the Dali Museum, a great bakery and good shopping. Very eclectic!
Review 17:Great location close to places i wanted to see. and very easy to find. Some very friendy young women guided to to the door. as they said it's the one with the cows out side.
Review 18:Must "plug" your key into a slot to active the electricity/AC in the room. So, if you leave the room, no chance to keep the AC on or charge devices. Not a big deal, just a little pet peave.
Review 19:Very nice staff that let me check in at 11 AM because they had a clean room. Staff throughout were nice and helpful. My room even had a balcony with a hammock and a table with chairs!
Review 20:The staff at check in was discourteous; when the room key she gave us didn't work, she seemed to expect me to work out what to do. Eventually we were given a new room which was smelly and dirty - nothing like the photo on the Booking.com reservation confirmation. We also paid 8 euros for a pretty basic breakfast with limited choices of poor quality food in a gloomy room. I booked this place because of the high rating on this website but I can't imagine why people like this place; a few plastic animal decorations and rubbish art don't compensate for the hotel's poor quality.
Review 21:The location is excellent for the Dali Museum and town centre.
Review 22:Atmosphere was great and the location, perfect for a one night stay. Brekfast was good and the garage for the
Review 23:We where going to visit the Dali museum so this is the perfect hotel only 150 meters away from the museum
Review 24:The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The wifi is terribly slow and you get only 1 code at a time, have to beg for 2 for 2 travelers. If 1 doesn't work you're out of luck at night because the dude at the front desk won't give you another one. The girls who work during the day are nicer.
Review 25:Convenient location, cute decor, most of staff friendly, the girls during the day anyway. They store your luggage in a secured room which is great.
Review 26:Nothing really, but we would have liked to enjoy the roof terrace bbq but there was no space for us there. We suspect that some there were not hotel residents who spent the entire evening there. However,I am nit picking.
Review 27:Everything.
Review 28:No bad experience, but it's a pretty good hike from the train station to the hotel.
Review 29:This hotel is magnificent in evoking the spirit of Dali, even before you walk in the door you're staring at cows on the front balconies. Artwork on premises gets an A+. Just half a block from La Rambla.
Review 30:Very hard beds. Difficult to access hotel by a car. Parking on the street is not possible. There are few places for the cars of hotel guests in nearby closed-door parking which cost extra 10 €.
Review 31:Hotel location is very good for visiting Figueres and Salvador Dali theatre-museum. Staff of the hotel was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not very rich but sufficient.
Review 32:Bathroom is a bit dated, maybe seventies style but it really does not matter. If you like swish, fancy modern bathrooms, you might not like this.
Review 33:Individually designed, and spacious rooms - with funky interior, lots of paintings - friendly staff - amazing extra large bed - comfortable and spacious - minibar so fridge is handy, and it is the closest hotel to the Dali museum - about 2 minutes walk - and it's also near central square of the town
Review 34:terrible wifi (unusable) shopping bags over only window heat/lack of ventilation shower head broken front reception sliding automatic door STUCK - but no help in trying to open it. expensive parking for horrible space
Review 35:location quirky front
Review 36:Quirky place that's taken lessons from Dali (fairground horses, cows, butterflies, spacesuit at entrance). Nice quiet room with small bath. More quirkiness on rooftop terrace - pity I wasn't there for free BBQ Sat eve. Liked so much stopped for extra day. Would recommend to anyone in the area. Good breakfast
Review 37:Catedral is very near also. and it rings bell vey loudly in each 30minutes. especially it rings long and many times in 8:00, 9:00. so I became wake up by ringing...
Review 38:it is very nice about Fish and Shrimp BBQ on Saturday with beer! room is big, clean and the staffs are friendly. and it is very near from Dali museum.
Review 39:Room and hotel quirky but a little dated/tired in décor. Checkin girl's English was as limited as our Spanish but we managed and she did try to direct to parking, only for us to find a map on hotel window showing clear directions.
Review 40:Close to Rambla and museums. Plenty of restaurants nearby, although opening hours seemed haphazard (perhaps being a sunday night).
Review 41:The window to the balcony would not lock but the receptionist apologised and made a note to fix it.
Review 42:The friendly staff, the decor in the reception and stairwells, the balcony. Central location next to the Dali museum. One man's incredible vision over 10 years. Well-priced and just right for a night or two.
Review 43:Parking place is a walk of 5 min. Be patient of driving your car to hotel to pick up bagage.
Review 44:Great price. value for money. Family friendly. Staff was very friendly. Near Dali and Toys museum. Near shops and restaurants.
Review 45:i find it difficult to fault this hotel the only point i would make is if you are travelling by car you do need to follow the local signs otherwise it is very difficult to find
Review 46:this was a great hotel in the centre of the town, don't be put off by the outside appearance once inside you will be amazed at the facilities the breakfast was excellent with lots of choice
Review 47:Staff very welcoming. The owner have my son coins to play the pinball machine in the lobby. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is close to the Dali Museum and other interesting features of Figueres. It has a wonderful rooftop deck. Great views. There are paintings, posters, merry go round ponies and clowns throughout. We enjoyed the quirkiness!
Review 48:This hotel is in a great location; close to the Dali Museum and the Castle. It is appropriately funky with crazy art everywhere. The highlight however was the party on the roof with generous helpings of delicious grilled sardines, prawns and beer!! A great memory. Gracias!
Review 49:The hotel was fantastic. We enjoyed our visit from start to finish. The girl who checked us in gave us a choice of rooms and the one we chose had an amazing balcony overlooking the church and museum (with a hammock). We were invited to a free bbq for guests on the roof terrace at night with lovely sardines and langoustines, not to mention as much free beer as we could manage. The whole place was in a quirky, Dali style which really set the tone for the trip. The staff even had a bit of Dali's eccentricism as well...in a lovely, welcoming way!
Review 50:Optional breakfast a bit pricey (but cafe bars abound - a friendly one is right next door). The roof-top bar (another eccentric visual "trip" with a hammock, old exercise equipment, a covered boat and city views) is worth a visit at any time but only serves on Saturday evenings...
Review 51:EXcelleny value. Quirky and idiosyncratic decor - an art gallery in itself (we observed several passers by stopping to photograph the facade). Located one block from the Salvador Dali Theater Museum and a couple of blocks from secure underground municipal parking. Generous room sizes; several good restaurants within a block. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 52:The decor is revolting, the beds too hard and the rooms noisy. Nothing to do with the pictures shown online! truly ugly hotel, but great location and staff.
Review 53:Location, location, location. Steps from the Dali Museum, great freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast, very nice staff.
Review 54:Great hotel, loved the front of hotel with all the odd statues on the balconies, the rooms clean, with large beds that were really comfortable! Location also perfect, very short walk to centre with bars shops and restaurants.
Review 55:room was quite small for 3, myself and 2 teenage kids and felt a bit airless, maybe it was just the room we had, which was at the back of the hotel which overlooked a courtyard with restaurants so couldn't open curtains or windows..although it was quiet. the towels had seen better days!
Review 56:The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of town right next to the Dali museum and many restaurants and cafes. In keeping with Dali the hotel is decorated with surrealist art work and a roof terrace complete with great views . staff are very helpful and friendly, there is a room to store baggage after you have checked out.
Review 57:Wi-fi was a bit of a problem, had to keep going down to reception to get new password every time I wanted to use wi-fi; Not a great problem.
Review 58:location location, staff were friendly, breakfast was top class, hotel was clean & tidy,
Review 59:Central location next door to Dali museum. Lady on reception was lovely and very welcoming. We loved the quirky 'Dali-esque' decor - very unusual ! Fab rooftop terrace but no bar - take your own but free BBQ on Saturday nights apparently !!
Review 60:wifi only worked in the foyer
Review 61:great location, close to dali museum & old city centre. quirky and fun decor, but if you're scared of clowns, beware!
Review 62:The local church rang it's bells EVERY 15 mins night and day The safe didn't work
Review 63:The fun animal theme design
Review 64:Considering the quality and facilities provided by the hotel in the area, the room price is on the high side.

Review 75:Location was excellent, service very good, room clean and comfortable. Loved the decor which made it quite a fun place to stay.

Review 115:Very clean hotel. Lovely, helpful staff.
Review 116:Beds very hard but lovely place.
Review 117:Nothing not to like. The place looks a little tired maybe but it's clean and everything works as advertised.
Review 118:A quiet night just steps away from the Dali museum.
Review 119:The wifi did not work on the 4th floor, had to sit in the lobby or on the stairs from the 2nd floor down.
Review 120:Location was fantastique, right down the street from the Dali Museum and around the corner from the Toy Museum, down the other way is the town square for shade and relaxation. The staff is friendly and awesome, the room and bathroom a good size. Great value, only 56 euros per night in June! The rooftop decor is awesome, but we arrived on a Sunday for 2 nights so missed the Saturday night party.
Review 121:Fantastic hotel. Location is great being just a short stroll to the Dali museum. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. If you plan to stay on a Saturday night then you will be invited to a free sardine, prawn and beer BBQ on the hotel roof along with all the other guests in the hotel. This is hosted by the very friendly hotel owner and we had a very enjoyable night at the BBQ we attended. All the staff were very friendly and helpful as were the staff in the cafe Versatil next door which served up a great paella.
