Reviews for Hostal Senero
Review 1:Nothing specific, just seemed a bit high, but maybe as it is a small city, less cheap hostels.
Review 2:I have been staying in €9-12 hostels, so relatively expensive by compared. There was a young women at the desk who was AMAZINGLY helpful.
Review 3:Noise travels easily in hotel. Ir seemed that the Cleaners talked loudly but they may have just been easy to hear.
Review 4:Lovely safe homely feel. Very good location near Plaza España and I could walk to the station
Review 5:Small internal room overlooking central passageway had almost no natural light, and I found it rather depressing. Fine to sleep in, but not somewhere you would want to spend much waking time in.
Review 6:Convenient for all sites of interest, restaurants etc. Separate entrance meant you can easily come and go as you please. Effective AC unit. Good budget accommodation.
Review 7:Very tight parking, not recommended for bigger cars. Sat Nav had difficulties but found it in the end. A small breakfast would have been good
Review 8:Quiet room, good air conditioning, fairly central
Review 9:It got a bit noisy when people were coming in in the hallway - the door didn't block the noise well. Otherwise no complaints.
Review 10:Nice facilities for the money. A/C and private bathroom were very nice, lobby outside room hallway was particularly pretty.
Review 11:Although I sent message that I would be arriving by train slightly outside check-in time, young man in reception was rather grumpy and very pointedly underlined time on my booking form. There was no hot water next morning. Quite by chance I discovered h/w cylinder installed across top of wardrobe and realized that it wasn't turned on. Wish someone had told me or, better still, that staff had turned it on ahead of my arrival. One evening I returned to find window between my room and internal passage way had been left open by cleaning lady. Any reasonably fit person could easily have climbed through into my room and left hostal again unseen as reception was via a separate street door.
Review 12:Average
Review 13:If you are driving, forget this place you have to park away and pay on the street. Most towns in Spain have no parking for tourist. Very poor organized towns and cities!
Review 14:Clean
Review 15:Kind and helpful staff. Clean room with good shower. Perfectly located in the town center, in a quite street. Near to restaurants and almost all Roman remains.
Review 16:Thin walls, with not isolation. We were awaken by the couple next door making love :-)
Review 17:All was clean, toilet, and sheet and towels. Close to the historic landmarks. They explained to us where to park for free nearby
Review 18:The hostal provides a city map to help the visitor find his way back to the hostal and also to locate all of the fantastic Roman cultural sites, all of which are not too far. HOWEVER ! This map is tiny. The road names are mostly illegible and most annoyingly ...IT IS UPSIDE DOWN... That is to say that while every other map in the world shows NORTH at the top of the page , this map shows SOUTH...extremely confusing. Valuable visiting time was wasted getting a city map that allowed me to navigate the city efficiently for the four days I spent there
Review 19:Noelia , the owner, was extremely welcoming ,cheerful and accommodating . I will remember her friendly welcome for a long time and stop there again next time I visit this marvelous city. I had the opportunity to try out more than one room. I liked the overall cleanliness and also the fact that in each room I stayed in the air conditioning worked perfectly. The beds were comfortable. Although there is no elevator to the floor were the sleeping quarters are , i could see that the staff were more than willing to carry the guests' luggage up to their quarters
Review 20:The room I had this time was noisier. Agree with previous reviewers that the windows opening onto common corridor is less than good in terms of noise and security. During this stay I had snorers it seemed everywhere. Every small sound carries. Ear plugs are good unless you have an early bus or train to catch.
Review 21:This was my second stay at Hostal Senero. Again staff were very good and the room was very clean. Wifi worked ok a fair bit of the time.
Review 22:Not a didn,t like more a comment. The building Senero 2 would benefit from repair/maintenance.
Review 23:Good location for the monuments, cafes, resturants and bus station. Staff were really above average, very professional friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Cleaning was above average. Wifi worked well a lot of the time.
Review 24:- Bit noisy, could hear neighbours in the room next to me snore. - Cleaning lady left window to hallway open, so other guests could have entered the room if they really wanted to.
Review 25:Size room and bathroom was ok for price. Great location in northern area of historic city center, close to train and bus station. Arrived early in the morning, could leave my luggage for free.
Review 26:They came and cleaned my room every day and left me fresh shampoo etc, the staff were so helpful and were patient with my appalling Spanish. would definitely recommend!
Review 27:I were travelling alone, and it's in a small, emty street, so to be a single girl, at night, is not much fun..
Review 28:I payed for a single-room, but got a doble because they didn't have any more. I talked with two diferent people, both very friendly. It's good located, central.
Review 29:Euro 25 for a single traveller would have been better and use of a kitchen.
Review 30:Everything but a little expensive for a solo traveller in a single room. But guess popular destination. Ok if two sharing cost if a couple. Otherwise brilliant.
Review 31:High price, no breakfast, small room.
Review 32:Location, air conditioner.
Review 33:Uncomfortable beds. Dated furnishings.
Review 34:Cheap, relatively spacious.
Review 35:I liked the owner. He was very frendly. The room was very clean.
Review 36:In your arrival day, you can not obtain the keys after 22:00 h :-(
Review 37:A very quite place in the city centre
Review 38:Near a popular plaza, nearby facilities and close to Roman Ruins and walking distance to Museum. Facility kept clean and tidy.
Review 39:Mosquitoes
Review 40:Good location near the center of town. Clean room, comfortable
Review 41:nada
Review 42:El personal era muy agradable. Fue un buen lugar para el precio. Fueron muy serviciales con el almacenamiento de mi bicicleta .
Review 43:Parking was a ways away.
Review 44:The workers were very friendly and helpful.
Review 45:Nothing much particularly given the price
Review 46:Good value friendly hotel right in the centre of a lovely city.
Review 47:Quite small size of the bathroom
Review 48:Very comfortable bed Central location
Review 49:Air conditioning does not cover the whole room
Review 50:Good location Very helpful owners Secure parking
Review 51:Could have done with a lift when carrying luggage up two stories! Theroom ventilated out into a corridor giving security concern whenwindow left open so had to use air conditioner, with associateddryness and noise.
Review 52:Friendly helpful staff, central location pleasant room and comfortablebeds. Able to park motorcycles on pavement directly outside. Breakfastcafe just around the corner has good selection.
Review 53:i liked the independence of individual entrances to each room. it was clean, economical, and the staff very friendly. bueno, bonito, y barato ya esta!
Review 54:Almost everything! I stayed for two nights and almost left after one. The worst was that there were two interior windows (and no exterior) that any other guests could have opened or used to look into my room! I felt less privacy than in a ten bed hostel room! The bed was uncomfortable. I barely had enough toilet paper, which was not refilled when there was a need. There's also a sign that says you are not allowed to wash clothes in the bathroom. Really? I think that's crazy. The man when I checked in was beyond rude. When I asked him if there were restaurants around, he told me to find the tourist office and wouldn't even give me directions or a map to get there! I would not recommend this hotel!
Review 55:It had a great location. The man at reception when I checked out was very friendly. I wish I met him when I checked it too!
Review 56:We could not find any restaurant open at 8pm nearby, although there are plenty of tapas bars. My son was starving, McDonalds is approx 1,7 km away, if you have picky kid keep this in mind.
Review 57:Location is quite good, close to many sights, in a side street, so very silent. We had some difficulties to find it by car, due to the one way roads. It has one parking garage slot, we reserved in advance (fee was 8 eu, or so) which was a good idea, parking is challenging. The pension is very decorative with nice tiles on the walls and clean. No elevator, no problem for us. Room is good size, new furniture, new bathroom and very clean. TV, aircon and comfy beds. I recommend it!
Review 58:Lost water while I was there for 5 hours kind of expensive for what itwas would have really been nice to have a kitchen accessable
Review 59:Very clean The staff were friendly
Review 60:Stairs and the small size of the bathroom and tv
Review 61:Location
Review 62:Ideal hostal .well run, very clean & close to town centre
Review 63:garage awkward to manoeuvre into
Review 64:Central location combined with pleasant staff & price make this a winner
Review 65:What's not to like? It's not luxurious but what do you expect for the price?
Review 66:Price and location excellent for our needs. Comfortable and clean
Review 67:A bit non atmospheric . Owner could be more offering some information and friendly
Review 68:Location and price
Review 69:I did not like the fact that the hostel had neither a kitchen, nor fridge and nor microwave oven.
Review 70:Location was excellent, room was nice
Review 71:Scary . i was alone in dark hotel. i thought is haunted. They filed my stay with police.
Review 72:Shows it's age... was not that cheap for the kind of place it is.
Review 73:Very central, nice staff.
Review 74:Parking is difficult and can be some distance from hotel. Has no breakfast facilities.
Review 75:Good location. Very good value.
Review 76:Good location,clean and comfort room,nice staff.
Review 77:Usual problem with inconsiderate neighbours
Review 78:Superb location, very central yet also peaceful
Review 79:No view from windows in the room.
Review 80:Location was perfect for visiting Merida.
Review 81:Friendly staff, clean and spacious room, well situated in a safe and convenient area. Good value. I would recommend this hotel.
