Reviews for Parador de Toledo

Review 1:They made a big mistake payment. After I came back, How ignore even if I stayed only one night in the no city view single room I payed more than almost 600 euro.they made me pay by my credit card 2 times.

Review 2:It is a long way from the centre a good 30 minute walk or 10 euros in a cab., The public areas were cold.

Review 3:Fantastic views over the river to Toledo. The hotel has free parking. Comfortable rooms and good facilities.

Review 4:Large rooms, clean, spectacular views, free parking. Property is located across the river from the old town. Staff very helpful. Nice breakfast. Quiet.

Review 5:Too far from Toledo. The only way to get to town is by car except that there is no place to park in Toledo or by cab. Also the breakfast although good is very pricy.

Review 6:Very nice place with a great view of Toledo

Review 7:If the restaurant served dinner on the terrace it would have been the cherry on the cake.

Review 8:The breath taking view from the hotel looking down on the city. The room the hotel the restaurant, and the terrace bar where all awesome.

Review 9:The staff is not very friendly. (And considering the price per night, they should be very, very friendly.)

Review 10:Unbeatable location. Cafe patio overlooking Toledo.

Review 11:Too Many day trippers and they are very noisy, taking picture at the cafe all the time! Hotel arranged area for them but nobody care! The staffs should manage them not to disturbed logging guests! No staffs help us with the luggages!

Review 12:The location is great! Fantastic view.

Review 13:The staff were extremely inefficient in the bar/cafe area. We had to almost tackle them to get served. As the hotel is outside the city you tend to eat there so it was very frustrating. The more formal restaurant had better service but the food was barely average and very expensive for the quality.

Review 14:Beautiful views over Toledo. Very comfortable room. Lovely well appointed bathroom

Review 15:No more than 2 star. This hotel is in need of a major overhaul.Too far from center of town.carpets are worn.Veranda doors don't close.Rude staff.Few of the staff speak English.Restaraunt too pricy.Forget the view .Stay in the center and pay for the parking. If you want the view of Toledo take a cab take your pictures and go.Staying at this hotel will cost you 10 euros one way by cab,Sundays many restaraunts are closed so your stuck at the high priced hotel Restaraunt.

Review 16:Nothing.I can't say anything positive .

Review 17:Restaurant was disappointing. The food quality & choices were not up to standard for dinner. The menu was quite limited. The lighting was so bright in the dining room at dinner, the view was lost, no atmosphere. I could not order black tea with milk at any time, they did not have it. (Very strange!)

Review 18:View over Toledo was magnificent, as we had one of the rooms facing the view rather than the pool. The Inconvenience of the short taxi ride into the city was OK because of the magnificent vista day & night. The quality of the breakfast was good.

Review 19:Great view to magnificent old town of Toledo, about 10 minutes by car to one of the parking lots in town, great rooms, very good breakfast, parking available at the front of the hotel

Review 20:"Modern" Paradors cannot compete with the historic buildings

Review 21:Great views of the city from the terraces. Good spacious and well-equipped room by the pool, with lovely big towels. Reasonable value dinner. Breakfast OK.

Review 22:The wait staff in the lounge was extremely poor. We noticed another table of guests having difficulty, also.

Review 23:The parador was beautiful and the view was spectacular.

Review 24:the bedside lamp fell apart

Review 25:The staff were all knowledgeable and helpful, the meals excellent, especially the breakfast buffet, and we would love to know where you got your sheets, they were so comfortable!

Review 26:We explored Toledo during the day and then enjoyed a relaxing early evening drink, and a delicious dinner on a balcony that had a view as breath-taking as any in Spain. We watched the sun set and the town lights start to twinkle. The restaurant staff were wonderful.

Review 27:The staff was not so good compared with hotel with cheaper cost.

Review 28:The hotel itself was impressed. But the staff was not friendly enough, just checked us in without a smile, and I booked 2-night-stay separated cause the first night with HP and second night just with breakfast, but when we checked in the hotel didn't know that. It located away from old town and only possible to take taxi, cost with luggages about 12€ from train station and if you book a taxi from hotel to the town Toledo about 10€. The view of Toledo from hotel was breathtaking and very recommended a dinner on the platform. Book at hotel 36€/per person. A very good decision to stay here, one of the highlight of my trip to Spain.

Review 29:Access to our room (213) was via two short flights of steps before one could access the lift. For those with many cases this was difficult. The evening dinner menu was very disappointing given the excellence of other aspects of the hotel. Expensive given the limited choice and smallish portions spoiled our experience.

Review 30:The hotel met every expectation apart from the evening dinner. There was a special offer on breakfast for 12 Euros which was excellent.

Review 31:Might have been nice to have a shuttle to and from town, even if there was a charge. The lighting in the dining room could be more atmospheric creating an ambience that would do justice to the chefs'hard work.

Review 32:The view from the cafe terrace was lovely and the staff were very friendly. The dinner at the restaurant was fabulous.

Review 33:A bit far away from the old town, need 45 min walk or better have a car

Review 34:Very nice hotel, comfortable, swimming pool a nice to have in summer time, good breakfast,

Review 35:I think the dinners were over priced. The second meal we asked for two starters - croquettes and green bean salad with prawns and ginger. We had the exact same meal a few days before which was excellent, served on the terrace. The second time was very poor. The bean salad turned up looking messy with no dressing or ginger and no prawns. The waiter returned with prawns and sauce a while later but it was clear the prawns were still raw inside. My guess is, they were quickly taken out of deep freeze. I only swallowed one bite fortunately or we would have had severe food poisoning. No apology but the green bean salad was taken off the bill.It was clearly obvious that whoever was in the kitchen wasn't a skilled chef. I think the food overall pulled down our rating. The cafe menu was boring and expensive for what it was.

Review 36:The pool was lovely. The desk staff friendly and helpful. The room cleaning ladies were marvellous and did a great job. Nice room overlooking pool - 315. Overall excellent except for the cafe food and dinner.

Review 37:The views from the terrace were breath-taking. Dinner and drinks on the terrace were beyond a treat. The pool was delightful after a full day of sight-seeing.

Review 38:Great Parador with a terrific view of Toledo. It is a 10 minute cab ride to the old quarter (Cathedral) across the river but the view is fantastic. We stayed the first night and decided to extend our stay a second. Unfortunately we had to change rooms because they didn't have any doubles for the second night and our room was a significant downgrade (bed and view) but still enjoyable. We used the pool and ate at both the cafeteria and the restaurant. Food was good but not great and perhaps a bit overpriced but overall we enjoyed our stay. As with all of my Parador experiences staff was incredible and I would recommend the property.

Review 39:Excellent location. Stunning views. Large comfortable rooms. Breakfast buffet with plenty of choice & good value. Restaurant was expensive but there is a snack bar offering a range of snacks much cheaper

Review 40:I didn't expect the facility because of Parador(government operation), but the room is new with a great view of Toredo. And the restaurant is also very good with this price.

Review 41:The layout of the hotel, the way it was positioned with car parking , reception ,outdoor entertaining including pool, the position of the terrace off the dining room to take advantage of the spectacular view of the city

Review 42:There is a serious problem with wasp infestation which meant we couldn't sit on our balcony and it made using the pool very unpleasant.

Review 43:The amazing view over Toledo and a the wonderful breakfast. Easy parking on site. Spacious room.

Review 44:We had a room with a balcony, which was very nice. However, we could not go onto the balcony due to a colony of yellow jackets (bees) outside our room. We told the desk, and they sent a man with a can of spray. He sprayed at a few bees and left. The bees immediately returned, as there was obviously a nest on our balcony. It was very disappointing that the hotel did not try to change our room.

Review 45:This parador is in a beautiful location.

Review 46:The toothpick in the gazpacho and seriously undercooked squid main course spoiled dinner in spite of the view. My wife had to return her dinner. The couple next to us seemed to have similar issues. We ordered three starters to simulate the tasting menu experience and all three were brought to the table at the same time. The restaurant was half empty so there was no need to hurry us along. We stayed a five different paradors on our trip and this one was the worst by far.

Review 47:views of the city from the room

Review 48:Around the swimming pool there was a lot of wasps, but the explained us that they were working on it.

Review 49:From the terrace, the view of Toledo is unbeatable!!! The restaurant excellent, the rooms and the amenities great. The staff was awesome, Thanks Rafael!!!!

Review 50:Breakfast always seems overpriced in the Paradors (18 euros)…and this Parador being out to town, meant waiting till you can drive down to Toledo to get a coffee and pastry for 3-4 Euros, which is all we wanted. Minimal vegetarian options for dinner for our veggie daughter

Review 51:Cool air con and pool during heatwave. Peaceful and comfortable away from the crowds and heat of the old buildings in Toledo (which are wonderful- but in 40 degrees you love the cool air away from the city walls). Rooms immaculate, views from room amazing.

Review 52:We arrived in the afternoon of a Public Holiday, so the Public spaces were full to bursting with local people celebrating the holiday by coming to the Parador to take selfie photos with the view!

Review 53:Stunning Views from every bedroom with French doors out onto shaded balcony, and being encouraged to eat outside in the evening. Excellent food for dinner and breakfast. Helpful staff.

Review 54:The service at the restaurant was pleasant but somewhat sloppy

Review 55:Clean and comfortable rooms with a nice terrace. Had dinner in the restaurant, the food was quite good

Review 56:The bed was very uncomfortable. The pillow was very thin and uncomfortable- not what we were expecting.

Review 57:Loved the spectacular view! It was great that they could accommodate 3 of us in 1 room.

Review 58:Our room had a terrace that led straight out to the swimming pool / sunbathing area - with a view! Comfortable well-appointed room, excellent buffet breakfast and private terrace for hotel guests. As with all paradores, a great selection of toiletries.

Review 59:Not good for large families Had to get 2 rooms for family of 5. Restaurant expensive and not good food.

Review 60:View. Bathrooms very clean and modern. Nice swimming pool Parking close by

Review 61:Restaurant staff were not honest. We asked the hostess about the breakfast, and after checking our room's information in her book, she told us the breakfast is included in our package. But after we finished our breakfast they brought us the bill (17 Euros per person!). We asked the same hostess, she checked the book again and told us that we do not have breakfast in our package!

Review 62:- pool area was closed (no advance notice on reservation site) - staff at bar and restaurant only spoke spanish so communication was difficult

Review 63:location, view of the city from bar and restaurant, food at the retaurant

Review 64:Very poor evening meal with portion size and accompanying vegetable ludicrous. One cold roast potato and steak that was 45% fat. Poor service and overpriced.

Review 65:Location, spectacular view over the city, very comfortable bedroom, bathroom and terrace area. Very helpful reception staff.

Review 66:Very busy hotel but to be expected in such a lovely city.

Review 67:Lovely view of the city from the terrace and dining room. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were attentive.

Review 68:A bit far from the city, car is needed if you want to sightsee comfortably. Restaurant is not bad but for the quality of the food quite pricey.

Review 69:Spacious lodging, quiet spot, beautiful view

Review 70:Rooms were good as was everything else in the hotel. There is a short taxi ride to town for €7 - €10, but that's why this is a great place to stay as you get to look at the city from your room, the bar or restaurant. Superior rooms give a city view.

Review 71:When I made the booking, I asked to confirm if our room got a city view, I received no response and we were assigned a room with a cell window, very disappointing. If we were told all city view rooms were sold out, we could have changed to another hotel and just came for a drink.

Review 72:The location, the breakfast Dinner here is good too.

Review 73:Staff is often hurried (but it was Easter week/weekend). Food is pricey and just okay.

Review 74:The view, the feeling of space, the place for kids to play, the BIG rooms, nice bathrooms, nice amenities. Very easy to drive in and out of Toledo and park (in parking lots) even Easter week.

Review 75:1. Very unwelcoming receptionist. Had to pay 30 euros more for a view. 2. Receptionist was cross because Booking.com had only offered us on an option of two adults and one child and we had no child. De nada! Male receptionist seemed very annoyed. 3. Tapas dinner was worst eaten in 8 years of living in spain. Fish balls had gristle in, croquettas were cold, no alioli, really disappointed and at at 60 euros with a bottle of wine we were not impressed ! 4. Bed so hard, could not sleep 5. Not the attitude I expect from a 4/5 star hotel. Would not return or recommend 6. No option to pay in £ sterling, although requested, in view of current exchange rates.

Review 76:Well, view amazing, although had to upgrade to achieve this - not explained on booking.com Lovely bedroom and bathroom

Review 77:It was a 10 euro cab ride each way..not too long or expensive but it deterred us from wanting to go into town for dinner. The restaurant and snack menu was limited and the food not good

Review 78:I loved the view and room

Review 79:As above, noise in the lobby past midnight straight into our room. No room noise insulation. Receptionist did nothing to control the situation. We had to go out at 2 am to shut people up! The manager was nice and gave a break for the incinvenience.

Review 80:It is in a quiet area in the middle of nature. We were there 25 years ago and at that time we had an unforgettable experience. The place needs to be revamped, it is showing its age.

Review 81:far away from the city center

Review 82:The hotel is in the summit of the mountain. We can see the whole view of Toledo. All the facilities in the hotel is best-match.

Review 83:This hotel asked me to upgrade my room but the room didn't have a balcony which made me so disappointed. It was locatied so at the end of the corner. One receptionist gave us very poor service but I think he's new. The other guy helped me kindly.

Review 84:Bed was good. So was bathroom. Breakfast was okay. They have Nespresso machine that was not working. Decoration?

Review 85:Far from the city center. Luckily, we could catch locomobile-type bus for sight seeing by chance. Otherwise only by bus once an hour to the city after 10 minutes walk.

Review 86:Restaurant for dinner kind arrangement of bread for early leave.

Review 87:Worst, most uncomfortable, bed I have ever slept in in a hotel that claims to be a 4 star establishment. All of the linens and furnishings are old and very worn. The coverlet in or room smelled like dirty feet and looked like it had never been cleaned.

Review 88:Great location and gorgeous view over Toledo.

Review 89:The only way into Toledo was by taxi. This was not made clear when we booked. We recommend the parador should arrange free bus trips to and from Toledo at per-agreed times.

Review 90:Restaurant menu remains the same every day and could use a little more variety and more vegetarian options.

Review 91:The hotel affords excellent views of the town and first rate facilities. The staff are both friendly and efficient.

Review 92:Service in the terrace area could have been better.

Review 93:This was our night of luxury on a long trip of hostels and budget hotels. The view over toledo is amazing, the huge king size bed was very comfortable, the pool was lovely, breakfast was a little expensive but was all you can eat and great selection of foods so worth it.

Review 94:Would have liked a bigger menu choice in the terrace cafe. The alternative is very formal in the restaurant.

Review 95:Peace and quiet Secure parking Super comfortable room Most amazing views of the city

Review 96:Breakfast was a rip. Good but very expensive. Because you can't get a cup of coffee without doing the whole thing, you are kind of trapped... If you need your morning coffee.

Review 97:Views of the city were amazing.

Review 98:Sorry wrong way round I liked the parador in general

Review 99:Dinner and breakfast not a whow factor more like mediocre although the glass if La Mancha wine excellent and the service sympathetic important when one is travelling alone

Review 100:The old fashion mattress in a comfortable room. A box spring would be excellent Breakfast in weekend schould start before 8 The need of a wasps catcher on the terrace

Review 101:The wonderful view over the city the whole day and night A comfortable room and balcony The parador itself The accomodation to the city by taxi

Review 102:We had 2 lunches from their terrace bar, they we quite expensive, the food was poor, a surly waitress and then to cap it all they added a 10% service charge! I thought due to the expense of the hotel service charge would be included. I felt they were ripping us off.

Review 103:The views from the hotel of Toledo were fantastic

Review 104:The dinner was great. The service was not as bad as others have described. The waiting staff was working very hard. In my view, the restrauant is just understaffed.

Review 105:This was our second visit. Everything was perfect. The view from the room is great beyond description.

Review 106:We're Professional, big city and digitally literate. Our 'smart' room key did not work, yet staff seemed determined to believe we were at fault. In the end the maintenance guy changed the circuit board. After the episode, receptionist staff avoided eye contact? I fear the scary manageress is to blame for the frosty atmosphere. The bar and waiting staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. Perhaps they should swap around ....

Review 107:One of the best Paradors in Spain. Great restaurant, beautiful food - the tasting menu featuring signature dishes from Toledo chefs is highly recommended- great waiting staff, fabulous view off Toledo and large pool (unlike many others)

Review 108:The view of Toledo is breathtaking, especially at night. The property is both historic and charming. I am most happy we stayed there on our trip to Toledo.

Review 109:The complete experience is absolutely outstanding. The Parador itself is excellent as are the staff but add in the view and the delight of dinner on the Terrace in front of Toledo and you have perfection. Heaven on earth.

Review 110:Staffs were really friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Swimming pool and offer free clean towe. Transportation is not really convenient, it won't be a problem if u drive a car.

Review 111:Nothing.

Review 112:Location.great for all interests. The OldTown is magical. Many tourist attractions were free to oldies! The staff were very helpful. The Cathedral was well worth a long visit. Likewise The Monastery near it. Wonderful photo opportunities.

Review 113:Some male reception staff are not very nice. (but most of them are nice, especially the middle aged receptionist lady was very kind) Bath tub drainage should be cleaned better.

Review 114:Breathtaking view from balcony of the room.(room with city view) nice chairs and coffee table on the balcony. Spacious nice and clean room and bathroom.

Review 115:Staff service is average, not very warm. It seems to be the culture of Paradores. Lack of connecting room for family.

Review 116:The hotel has a great bird's eye view to Toledo which is an awesome experience in lifetime.

Review 117:We stayed two nights and unfortunately, our evening meal on the second night was not up to standard. However, that would not deter us from returning again and again.

Review 118:We drove our car and, unlike some other Paradors in Spain, this particular Parador was easy to find. Fantastic location. Wonderful views overlooking this splendid city. Staff gracious, helpful and professional. Room spacious and clean.

Review 119:The evening meal

Review 120:We expected great things from a parador. The spectacular view of Toledo lived up to expectations and the swimming pool was great. We ate dinner on the terrace watching the sun set over the city but the food itself was a great disappointment. I would recommend going into town to eat. Breakfast, on the other hand, was wonderful with everything you could possibly wish for.

Review 121:The swimming pool area was infested with a swarm of bees and was practically unusable.

Review 122:The wonderful view of Toledo, the very comfortable rooms, the excellent food.

Review 123:Unsatisfied service. And we found some garbage from previous guest in our room.

Review 124:Fantastic view of Toledo from this hotel.

Review 125:transportation is only taxi. No public transportation from Hotel.

Review 126:location is best.

Review 127:The location and the efforts the staff made to make it enjoyable.

Review 128:Everything.

Review 129:Setting restaurant

Review 130:Nothing, save for the mediocre food

Review 131:Great location overlooking Toledo, parking in Toledo was not a problem on the advice of hotel staff.
