Reviews for Hotel Lux Santiago

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:We stayed here for one night. The room is not big but has everything you need. It is good isolated for noise, it has a safe, seperate bathroom, it is clean and very important a very comfortable bed. Parking can be a problem because the hotel is in a street with shops. The parking on the street is free but you need to be really lucky. Across the street there is a parking garage were you can park for €13 per day. The hotel is 10 minute walk from the cathedral and is a 3 minute walk away from good restaurants and tapas bars.

Review 3:Excellent location. Clean and nice hotel. It was better than I expected from 3 star hotel. We did not try breakfast because on opposite of the hotel is Cafe bar with churros and hot chocolate. Room and bathroom just perfect. Safe locker in the price. Wi–Fi was the best I ever had in any hotel during my years of travel! I highly recommend it.

Review 4:No parking, some pay underground parking in the next block. A bit inconvenmient carrying luggage in small lift.

Review 5:Very close to centre of old town. Nice rooms if a bit small.

Review 6:Our room was rather small - but it was very nicely furnished.

Review 7:The hotel is in a great part of town, directly between the railway station and the old town, and convenient to everything.

Review 8:In a good location on edge of pedestrian area so parking close to hotel was possible. Very clean, comfortable, plain but stylishly decorated room and bathroom.

Review 9:The fact that we had to pay €10 extra per day for parking normally there is free parking with hotel accommodation

Review 10:Location was perfect, hotel was spotless, staff were very helpful and easy access to old town and parking facilities

Review 11:The hotel is conveniently located close to the old town and to the train and bus stations. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel provided a good breakfast. Could not fault the hotel and would definitely return.

Review 12:The room was very small - with little hanging space for clothes

Review 13:The location was great - easy walks to the sites that we wished to visit, but outside the main drag.

Review 14:A minor quibble was the paucity of storage space for clothes and the tiny shelf in the bathroom.

Review 15:Location on the edge of the old city was perfect with great shopping nearby. Perfect spot to explore the city. Very helpful and cheerful staff. Really comfy bed for resting those sore legs.

Review 16:No car parking, but public parking available 5 minute walk away with discount for hotel customers.

Review 17:Very clean and well done. Good bathroom. Great location. 5 minute walk to the historical centre.

Review 18:Nice hotel just 5 min walk to downtown Santiago and 10 min to the Cathedral. Staff is very friendly and 24hr desk. Room is clean, quiet and good working airco.

Review 19:2 beds pushed together, room a little small and the shower did not work on morning of checkout.

Review 20:hotel was swish, modern and clean in easy walking distance from the old town and parking nearby. Good shower! Great deal on Bookings.com would probably have been over priced without the discount.

Review 21:the room was very clean; modern and the staff were exceptional helpful/friendly. Our room was not ready on arrival but they offered to keep our bags while we enjoyed a cup of coffee next door at a local restaurant; and they came and got us when the room was ready! We would definitely stay again!

Review 22:The breakfast was not value for money, but convenient.

Review 23:Walking distance to all the sights, including lovely parks and gardens. The room was clean and comfortable for one.

Review 24:Nothing much.

Review 25:Hotel with a clean contemporary design and good sized room. The breakfasts where good value. The hotel is well position from the cathedral and railway station.

Review 26:Everything about the Hotel Lux was positive.

Review 27:The staff was welcoming and helpful. I enjoyed staying outside the older, more touristy area of Santiago.

Review 28:No bad experience

Review 29:Hotel is situated about 15 minutes walk from Cathedral , taxi rank & bus stop are just around the corner. Members of staff are friendly & helpful. Hotel is spotlessly clean.

Review 30:The bed was extremely comfy The facilities were modern and of good quality Decent location just a short walk from the old city and near an airport bus stop.

Review 31:Would have liked a bath as we needed a good soak to ease painful joints after the camino.

Review 32:Location and comfort. Very close to old town and cathedral but also close to the big stores and shops.

Review 33:Nothing to complain about.

Review 34:This hotel is very centrally located, very near bus stop for airport & very near taxi-rank & shopping area. It is only about 15 minutes walk to cathedral.

Review 35:The staff and hotel were excellent. The rooms and linen were very clean and of a very high standard. The hotel was in a great location and the bar and cafe straight across the street was very nice

Review 36:having to look for parking or pay 10Euro per day in a secure parking in a location near by.

Review 37:the comfy modern room the location few steps from the old city the reasonable rate

Review 38:The room was very small. The image shown made it look larger.. Also no english tv channels at all..would be at least handy to catch the news in english..

Review 39:Buffet breakfast expensive in terms of what they give u for what you pay. No crushed tomato for the toast. Something typical in any spanish breakfast.

Review 40:The location is just perfect.

Review 41:Always ask for twin beds. The double bed is not so confortable

Review 42:Nice cozy hotel, very well located, with all the needed amenities. Rooms are clean and confortable. Real value for money

Review 43:the balcony door of the room was locked and when we asked if we can open it we got the answer 'we dont have the keys'. Since the room doesnt have any windows, if you need fresh air there is nothing else that you can do.

Review 44:The bed was very comfortable, the hotel is very central, the price is quite okay

Review 45:Didn't try the breakfast but it looked nice as í passed by.

Review 46:Everything! Excelent cosy brand new room and very friendly staff were the main highlights.the location esse also very good. Despite the big windows infelizmente the room there was no noise from the street!!

Review 47:There is no frigobar in the room.

Review 48:This hotel is very new and clean. Although not big the room was very comfortable. In less than a 3-min walk you are in the casco antiguo of Santiago, and from there it takes another 10min walk to reach the cathedral, at max. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Look no further.

Review 49:They have no parking and, being downtown, it´s terrible to finding a parking space. Parking is a bit expensive (private ones).

Review 50:This is a very nice 3 stars, can beat easily an Ibis. Nice room, with modern illumination, gives a sensation. Near the cathedral and main spots.

Review 51:It is impossible to park in the streets of Santiago, so we really have to pay the € 10/day to park the car. A best deal for the costumers in the parkings near the hotel will be appreciated...

Review 52:We like everything! The staff is nice, the room and the common spaces are very fresh and clean (the white color prevailing all over the hotel is a must!) and the breakfast is excelent for a 3 star hotel. In terms of price/quality is a fantastic deal.

Review 53:Only available for one night; we would have loved to stay longer.

Review 54:Every thing was perfect, the receptionist extremely helpful and friendly. This modern hotel is a little gem and I highly recommend it!

Review 55:As the magnetic key card had a problem they changed me to another room; the room don't had a chair to sit near the writing desk, they had a bench without back, so i told it in the reception and they put quickly one chair in the room. It's a pity the city council don't put a lift beside the stone stairs near the train station, but the hotel is not guilty of it.

Review 56:Almost all, the quiet rooms were i stayed, the beds, the TV, the WIFI, the breakfast buffet, the polite and friendly staff, a safe in the bedroom.

Review 57:Everything was brand new, clean, spotless and the staff was outstandingly friendly. I have stayed several times in Santiago before and this was certainly the best place so far.

Review 58:Could not open the window. Not much room to move in the room itself but would be fine for a couple.

Review 59:Visually pleasing, all new and clean and shiny! Décor tasteful, close to railway station, nice bar, breakfast facilities , generous and attentive staff. Major shopping nearby but not far from all the traditional parts of Santiago.

Review 60:Far too minimalist for comfort. Beautiful in looks, but lacking in surfaces, shelves, room for suitcases...... Difficult to live in. Glad it was for only one night.

Review 61:The shower solution (with half round curtains) were not the best one but it´s more up to convenience

Review 62:location was good, stuff was friendly, clean and bright rooms

Review 63:After 5 weeks on the Camino this was like I'd arrived in heaven. The bed was so comfortable and the linen and duvet were amazing. The most comfort I've had at a hotel in years. 10 out of 10!

Review 64:Rooms just big enough

Review 65:Excellent, supportive staff Easy access to airport and tour bus stop near plaza Galicia Lovely new look New, modern bathroom Modern furniture

Review 66:The room had an odd smell, perhaps the lack of a trap in the bathroom as it smelled like sewer when the sink was used.

Review 67:Fabulous location, extremely helpful staff.

Review 68:A lot of noise during the night people shouting and talking out loud don't know where it was coming from even though I was on the 4th floor and it went on till 5am

Review 69:The location Bed and the linen Breakfast Staff All excellent

Review 70:The street was loud on a Friday night, with drunken revelers singing until dawn!

Review 71:The room was a bit tight but clean and bright, with a modern feel. Within walking distance from the Cathedral, near Praca Galicia.

Review 72:Room wasn't as clean as I would have expected. Alot of dust and floor hadn't been cleanedoing prior to our arrival

Review 73:Very central location, comfy bed, fab shower, staff on reception really helpful.

Review 74:The hallway was a little noisy and the automatic lights sometimes turned on late . checkout was a problem due to card reader didn't work so we had to leave our card number and information to the front door clerk

Review 75:Immaculate conditions the best thing about this hotel is that it is new and very modern . the room was spotless and the wifi was superb . breakfast was excellent and we ordered food in the evening and we were surprised at the amount of food

Review 76:The hotel has been open only 4 months at the date of my stay. Though not in the old or historic district of Santiago, it is a short 5-10 minute walk to the Cathedral. The rooms are well laid out and very clean. Also, the staff was great. I would strongly recommend this property.

Review 77:After 30 days walking on camino Hotel Lux was just what I needed. A clean comfortable bed at a reasonable rate. Bonus was bus stop to airport just around the corner.

Review 78:The hotel is located on a busy & narrow, downtown street. No parking is available in the hotel's vicinity. The public parking they offer is located 500 meters from the hotel!!! If you have luggage & you don't want to carry it all the way from that parking lot, you have to block the street, unload & carry the luggage to the hotel's "lobby" (on the 2nd floor!), run back to your car and drive off to the parking lot. The double room is ridiculously small, no cabinet or drawers are available. Practically no shelves are available in the bathroom. The breakfast service is a bad joke. Provided space, I could share with you nore experiences.

Review 79:The fact that it was located close to the old city, but....

Review 80:Our first room was too small for 2 people (room Z), which we changed without difficulty to room 317, and all was well. Two days later we returned to this hotel and were given a room (room 101) which was incredibly noisy, especially from 7 am. We also needed to have the room sprayed because of mosquitoes.

Review 81:I liked the hotel's location, only a couple of minutes walk to the old town. It is a newly constructed hotel (on the street with shops at the lowest level), very nicely decorated in a minimalist style of decor. Staff were friendly to us at all times.

Review 82:The bathroom door didnt close - this is how it is designed, so this is more of a personal critic. I would have prefered that it close for obvious reasons, especially if you are sharing a room! Our room was right next to the lift so from time to time we did hear alot of people traffic coming and going.

Review 83:Very modern, great design...not what I expected from a city such as Santiago! Bed was extremely comfy:) I would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends/family.

Review 84:Nothing.

Review 85:The location of this hotel was excellent - right in the city centre with a short walk (5 minutes) to the old town and Bars / Restaurants. The hotel itself was spotless and the shower was great (water pressure) The staff were extremely helpful and polite.

Review 86:It was really clean and new, the staff was really helpfull and the room and tpilet were very clean. Excellent price for the pffered quality and service

Review 87:Location was good just next to old town and room really modern and clean. I didn't try breakfast as I wanted to sleep longer. The hotel was bit pricey, but so was all the other hotels in the city as well during my stay late July. Wifi was working well in the hotel.

Review 88:Rooms are not soundproof and you can hear door closimg

Review 89:The hotel is new and rooms are very clean. The rooms are airconditioned. The location is great and you can get transportation to the airport and bus station from just around the corner

Review 90:Nothing to dislike.

Review 91:Great location for city centre and old town. Very modern, compact but comfortable room, excellent bathroom. Extremely clean. Helpful and friendly staff. Good tapas with drinks. Parking fairly close.

Review 92:There's nothing negative about the place.

Review 93:The staff is amazing. Carlos, the receptionist, gave us a map and, without being asked, showed us where to get food late at night. The guywas genuinely friendly. All the other members of the staff wereextremely helpful, they were always available and made sure thateverything was working out for us. Really, service does not get anybetter than this. The breakfast is very good. They have a kind of nut bread/cake that I already miss. Decent orange juice, good coffee. Spanish ham, cheese. The price for the breakfast is also amazing, you will not get a better deal if you look for breakfast by yourself in the city. The hotel is right at the Plaza de Galicia, which is very near the train station (5 minutes on foot) and it's, literally, 30 seconds away from the place where people take the bus to the airport. There's a supermarket down the street, a coffee shop right across the hotel. Everything is cheap. It's very close to the Cathedral and to all the good restaurants in the city. I love the modern, minimalistic decoration. This hotel is GREAT, it couldn't get any better.

Review 94:Only thing is that rooms are a little cramped when sharing as a twin, as a couple it would be fine though.

Review 95:Central location and great staff that were multilingual.

Review 96:Location close to the center, clean room, comfortable bed, good breakfast.

Review 97:Clean and modern. WIFi. Good breakfast buffet

Review 98:Zero sound - proofing provides for an unexpected level of intimacy that you probably don't want

Review 99:Price Lication Comfy bed Staff

Review 100:Very good value for price. Good location. Quiet but close to city

Review 101:Superb bed in this stylish boutique hotel, slept like a king!

Review 102:Great location and well furnished rooms. Only wish coffee makers were available in room.

Review 103:Location very central to train station and old city. Well appointed, comfortable, quiet.

Review 104:Street noise on Friday and Saturday night.

Review 105:Good location close to parking and old part of the city.

Review 106:Room was comfortable and clean, but I discovered mold in shower stall, which just needed a good scrub down.

Review 107:Location

Review 108:Location , overall impression of hotel very professional.

Review 109:Breakfast was a bit of a scrum

Review 110:Location Clean room

Review 111:Null

Review 113:Arrived late and unable to get anything to eat

Review 114:The location was great and the staff very helpful. Great shower

Review 115:Some waiting in the reception, shower arrangement is such that there is always water on the floor

Review 116:Location and price was ok

Review 117:all was satisfactory

Review 118:good location, clean& modern helpful staff

Review 119:Easy walk to various sites in Santiago de Compostela, bus to airport one block away.

Review 120:Room was small

Review 121:Nice style, good location and for 65 euro per night good value for money. We got the price as a promotion on booking.com

Review 122:The room was a bit small and no view

Review 123:Very clean and good location

Review 124:There is no kettle in the room. You can not go to the balcony from the room.

Review 125:Very comfortable bed Friendly staff Good location

Review 126:Great bathroom and shower. Very helpful staff. Good breakfasts. Good location.
