Reviews for Las Casas de la Judería de Córdoba
Review 1:Beautiful hotel with courtyards, fountains and large rooms. Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. We liked it so much we've booked to go back next month.
Review 2:Not their fault but it's quite a faf to check in to a hotel in Spain. You need to present a passport (EU photo driving licence won't do) etc.
Review 3:Location + gorgeous design
Review 4:Double bed was not available except in a less desirable room and part of the hotel
Review 5:Beautiful historic property - very gracious with lovely courtyards and fountains. The location in the oldest, most interesting part of Córdoba was great - touristy but also full of quiet corners and good cafes and restaurants. The Mezquita - the point of our visit - was just steps away.
Review 6:The reception service was diabolical. One person serving and queues going out the door. We nearly missed our train due to not being able to pay and had to wait ages when we arrived too. There was nearly a fight as people were to angry.
Review 7:Wonderful location. We had a beautiful room overlooking the front (superior). Nice turn down service in the evenings and reasonable breakfast. The building is wonderful and a nice bar area too.
Review 8:We loved very much the architecture of the hotel, which is a conglomerate of about five-six previously adjoining houses, now brought together, each with its own style and charm. The location is very good, only 2 minutes walk from the Cordoba cathedral, in the former Jewish quarter. The room was cozy, not very big, but with all the amenities and very comfortable. Attention had been given to preserve some of the old charm in the windows and the ceiling. There is no parking available at the property, but the staff will park the cars in a nearby location for 19€/day.
Review 9:This property is beautiful and very well located. Enjoyed this hotel very much. Everything can be done by foot. No need for a car. In fact, there is no parking.
Review 10:This beautiful hotel is a collection of old houses and plant filled courtyards in the Jewish Quarter of Cordoba. It's well equipped and the staff are helpful. It's very well placed for the Cathedral / Mesquita, Roman Bridge and Alcazar Del Rey, and you feel part of the city and it's history when you stay there .
Review 11:Very good facilities, very well appointed accommodation, especially the bathroom and comfortable beds, and close to major attractions and good dining and drinking places.
Review 12:Very limited staff. Had to go to receptionist to ask for any type of information and one receptionist had a much less than positive attitude.
Review 13:Very nice hotel in a very good location.
Review 14:There was a bad smell in two of our four rooms, the cleaner had sprayed something not very good smelling. With no view from some of our windows we felt a bit shut in.
Review 15:The beds were just marvellous! A luxurious feeling in the rooms and bathrooms. We liked the young people in the reception and the outstanding position of the hotel.
Review 16:Everything was just great!
Review 17:A great hotel, situated in the old Jewish Quarter close to the Mezquita, the river and the Roman Bridge. The inner courtyards are charming and the hotel is quiet! A bathtub was a real bonus! The breakfast was excellent and there are numerous good restaurant nearby.
Review 18:No bad experience, but would say it is not suitable for wheelchairs or those who do not like steps. There are lifts, but also several steps in the very attractive building.
Review 19:Perfect spot for all the sights and within easy walking distance of restaurants too. The staff were helpful and the breakfasts good.
Review 20:Nothing
Review 21:Wonderful hotel with an outstanding location and plenty of personality/charm. Had jr suite and it was huge; two full baths, large separate sitting area and loads of closets. Nice breakfast. Thought the room might be noisy as it overlooked a park; but after sunset all was quiet until midmorning. Staff very helpful and courteous.
Review 22:The hotel was lovely and had lots of Cordoba "personality". The staff was excellent! Very welcoming and went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect. Would definitely stay there again when in Cordoba.
Review 23:I found the bed a bit hard, and staff were very formal. Service could be warmer/more relaxed, but they very promptly addressed any questions or concerns.
Review 24:Great renovation of historic houses, rooms are beautiful, coffered ceilings, marble everywhere. Room had great view over the tower and cathedral. Beautiful landscaped courtyards, huge night blooming jasmine was a favorite. Pool was spacious. Location is just off the main tourist circuit, 5 minutes from Mezquita, good local shopping.
Review 25:No kettle in the room so we had morning tea delivered each morning which cost! It would be good to have BBC World News on the tv. The carpark is a walk away but that is because one is in the old city with no parking and narrow streets - wonderful porters compensate for this.
Review 26:Everything - location, fab room and bathrooms, breakfast, charming and helpful staff. The atmosphere and ambience are wonderful.
Review 27:The hotel was in the midst of the old quarter and the facilities and staff were superb. We wish we could have stayed longer. Nothing negative about it.
Review 28:Breakfast room was not in keeping with rest of hotel and at £16 each we took breakfast at nearby café. No view from room which overlooked front cobbled street.
Review 29:Ideal location to explore Cordoba on foot. Swimming pool to cool off/relax. Excellent bathroom.
Review 30:No bad experience. Great hotel.
Review 31:Historic Property, Located near Mezquita and other important sites, Staff excellent and attentive, English spoken, Excellent renovation with attention to detail, Good value, Swimming pool
Review 32:No signage to indicate which corridor leads to your room. Very confusing! Slight bad smell in the bathroom; H2S in water? or smell of sewage because of plumbing not sealed adequately? Book into these hotels that are converted old buildings with realistic, matching expectations and be happy.
Review 33:Excellent location. Pretty and charming patios all over.
Review 34:Great location right in the heart of Cordoba. Staff very friendly and helpful. 5 inter-connected former houses built around beautiful courtyards and fountains.. a peaceful haven in a lovely city.
Review 35:Breakfast room is in basement. Would be much better in the beautiful courtyard. Strong smell of drains from our shower room.
Review 36:Beautiful building in great location.
Review 37:Finding hotel a nightmare especially if driving, ensure you get instructions from hotel in advance especially if coming by car
Review 38:Beautiful Hotel formed of joined historic houses in old centre of Cordoba, friendly and attentive staff, pool , location making walking everywhere possible
Review 39:A tad bit hard to find but that's fine. Expensive parking. Too bad we had to leave!
Review 40:The entire property is beautiful and historic. The staff was extremely helpful making reservations in advance and making us feel very welcome. Our room was huge with a large terrace and a vaulted ceiling, decorated traditionally Spanish.
Review 41:Top notch in every way. We had the best room in the house - a room at the top of place with a private patio overlooking the city. A huge breakfast spread with many local goodies.
Review 42:Magnificent location right in the old center of Cordoba. Great hotel who gave us the best room in the house with views over Cordoba and almost private terrace and balcony.
Review 43:This hotel was a blend of Roman and Islamic stlyle and design. The bedroom was small but tastefully decorated with an exquisite and luxurious bathroom. We had dinner in the courtyard - a delicious meal in an elegant and romantic setting.
Review 44:Plumbing was smelly and very noisy, we became more acquainted with our neighbours 'ablutions' than we would have liked. Rooms require soundproofing
Review 45:Location is excellent and very easy to find even with a car, valet parking made it painless. Staff professional, friendly and efficient. Beautifully appointed room and common parts.
Review 46:Didn't know we could order eggs first day and staff wasn't very friendly. Eating breakfast in the basement. Should have it on the patio. We had trouble finding our room and room was dark.
Review 47:The location was great.
Review 48:The location was excellent, close to restaurants and points of interest. The staff were charming and professional, efficient and helpful. We will come again.
Review 49:Interesting hotel in an old building in Cordoba. Very friendly staff and rooms are very comfortable. Hotel itself is a bit of a maze but that's probably part of it's charm - although we did get lost a couple of times. Very close to the cathedral and the old city.
Review 50:Beautiful hotel, a converted Palace. Sweet, cozy, stunning architecture, great warm and friendly service. Want to return as soon as possible. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.
Review 51:Relatively limited beds near the swimming pool. We had a group of young people drinking and laughing right below our window (non-hotel property, until 2am); however, security took action as soon as we phoned them and managed to have them leave.
Review 52:Great location close to main attractions. Breakfast was fine, with enough choice. Decent sized pool. Parking nearby (we had to park in public parking as own parking was full, but this is only 200m away).
Review 53:This hotel is lovely - different, with great atmosphere, and a lovely, quiet pool for the hot days. And amazing value. Walking distance to everything in Old Cordoba. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and suggested activities in Cordoba that we hadn't known about. For example, they suggested, and sold us tickets for, a wonderful Equestrian Show.
Review 54:Bathroom slightly weird layout. Tiny shower with a tiny door, but they squeezed a bath in too. Wanted to have dinner at hotel, but there was one person running around trying to serve everyone, and we could see that some people were getting frustrated with the service, so just left. After a stressful time getting to hotel (used several gps devices and they all took us different routes through the old centre, which is unneeded), only to find that the road to the hotel was closed for works (totally not the fault of the hotel). However, I left my husband with the car and went to the hotel to ask for help. They gave me a map with directions to a car park (very close to hotel), which took us in a massive circle, because their carpark was full! definitely call in advance for directions and to ask if there is room at carpark if you are driving! Wifi is a bit hit and miss.
Review 55:Room 64 had a huge bed and an excellent terrace overlooking the pool but not overlooked by other rooms. Room was large and quiet, clean and modern. Excellent location within walking distance to everything. Loads of wardrobe space. Property has real character, with courtyards, water features and quirky decorations. Excellent boutique hotel. Not for those who want a stamped out chain hotel experience.
Review 56:Restaurant should have a main course for vegetarians.
Review 57:Very very nice building, great location, valet parking, clean towels in the evening, friendly staff.
Review 58:Everything was excellent.
Review 59:Beautiful historic hotel with great location. Wonderful professional staff. Large comfortable and attractive room and bath. Great AC. Excellent restaurant. Service and accommodation were beyond expectations. Excellent four-star.
Review 60:Could improve on the noise from the next door bathrooms!
Review 61:Beautiful, comfortable hotel. Great location for tourist site, and very easy taxi trip to the rail station.
Review 62:It's located in the old historic district of the town. The ancient architecture as it is set in historic houses beautifully converted in a cosy hotel with patios and fountains. The personnel are friendly and professional. The rooms are clean and well air conditioned.
Review 63:Staff Is very friendly and valet service Quick and effective , location into the old city and quiet .We enjoyed the place and our chilien too ( 21 YO and 17 YO ) .Great start to visit Andalucia .
Review 64:Very good hote with central location, the staffs are nice and patient to all the questions. The room is quite comfy with a large king size bed, the Islamic style decoration is quite charming. Also, the swimming pool is a plus.
Review 65:Not having a GPS, finding Las Casas de la Juderia was quite a challenge and we ended up hiring a taxi for us to follow by car. Once at the hotel and our car parked, we loved the beauty of the place as well as its excellent location.
Review 66:The location was fabulous for accessing the multitude of sites in Cordoba - the Mezquite, in particular. We loved the narrow streets in the Juderia and the many restaurants available to us.
Review 67:There's nothing i didn't like but what i would change is the pool opening times, it only opens at 11am and closes at 8pm.
Review 68:Beautiful hotel, staff was excellent, room are fabulous, location could not be more central.
Review 69:the pool not very big and it gets full very quickly. The evening restaurant you have to book but is no one there and no ambience
Review 70:Great location and excellent room
Review 71:The breakfast really let this fantastic hotel down. Awful coffee, artificial juices, grey scrambled eggs and no tables cleared. Oh and bad lighting in the bathroom
Review 72:We were stunned at this beautiful boutique hotel. Very quaint, lots of staircases leading to little terraces, pool on one of the roofes. Just great value for the price. Bedroom was so unusual. It has obviously been a much loved restoration project. Will definately return.!
Review 73:You could not sit down on the toilet and close the door.
Review 74:The airconditioning was excellent (it was 40C outside) The courtyards and fountains were very pretty
Review 75:The only thing I didn't like is that the coffee comes out of a machine and is mediocre. It is the tiniest complaint.
Review 76:A fantastic hotel. Clean, charming, lovely pool, wonderful staff.
Review 77:A sprawling complex with several internal courtyards and a pool, the hotel has rooms on three levels across what was once several buildings. It's located just on the edge of the old city walls and only a block from the Mezquita and the many nearby restaurants and bars. Cordoba gets hot in summer and the central location means that this is an oasis from the heat of the afternoon. Friendly and helpful staff offer great advice and suggestions and nothing seems too difficult for them. The taxi from the station costs around 7 Euro. A tip - it's worth walking to the taxi rank 25 metres away to catch a taxi from the hotel as the street outside is narrow and often blocked as traffic will need to turn around to get back out.
Review 78:the Beauty of the building; its staircases, its patios, its balconies, the old archeological remains, the pool, the flowers, the history, the location.
Review 79:The room had no Wi-Fi and was badly designed. There was no central lighting which made the room very dark and there was no full length mirror.
Review 80:Location is perfect and the building was beautiful.
Review 81:Rooms on ground floor very dark - but was OK for our one night stay. No Wlan in rooms.
Review 82:Beautiful property, quiet, very nice traditionally furnished spacious rooms, nice spacious bathrooom. Great location.
Review 83:A unique place! Cordoba sightseeing started literally on the premises of the hotel. The building complex of houses of the 16th century is just amazing, many lovely little details round up the picture. Built in are the fabulous rooms, very clean, with shiny, beautifully oldfashioned styled bathrooms. Friendly, helpful staff, an awesome breakfast (although a bit on the expensive side). Nice, clean pool. On the whole, a marvellous experience, that wonderfully rounded up our stay at Cordoba.
Review 84:Woman at reception was most unwelcoming
Review 85:Location is brilliant , right in the old town, the hotel is a tourist attraction in its own right, lovely relaxed atmosphere, a small pool and comfortable rooms, good breakfast
Review 86:Room 20 is next to the pool so very noisy in the morning and when you would like to have a siesta!!
Review 87:Lovely pool. Room felt romatic and historic but with modern conveniences. Valet parking. Very helpful staff. Stunning hotel
Review 88:The good news is tables to have picnic lunch or drinks all over the first floor but the bad news is that people use their cell pones in front of your bedroom and are very noisy The hotel was great and relocated us
Review 89:The staff was very helpful, the location great, and the Price was perfect
Review 90:Very difficult to find both in the car and indeed, on foot. The problems for car travellers are due to the myriad one way and no-entry streets. A good GPS is essential. For those on foot there is no signage outside the hotel to indicate name or street number. Even inside the hotel the name doesn't correspond with the Booking.Com name. Breakfast rather expensive and also unmemorable
Review 91:Upmarket hotel located close to the tourist attractions and restaurants/bars. Ambience terrific: building had been tastefully and faithfully restored.
Review 92:It's hard to find among the little back streets. And forget the promised parking. Restaurant a bit grandiose for our tastes: hard to get anything simple and light.
Review 93:Great base for exploring Cordoba.
Review 94:Many of the bars could do with making their visitors feel more welcome!
Review 95:Great area to stay-the Jewish Quarter-everywhere easy to walk to and plenty of restaurants to stop at for a drink, tapas, coffee. Strongly recommend the evening tour of La Mesquita at 10 p.m. Truly magical and to see the mosque/cathedral come to life with floodlights and music quite wonderful.
Review 96:Would have liked more variety at breakfast -especially for the cooked breakfast
Review 97:Beautiful old building-very well situated. Staff very helpful Hotel clean
Review 98:over priced and pity about the ants in the room which made sleeping difficult
Review 99:wonderful location for old town and lovely old styled hotel with affable staff.
Review 100:We had to ensure the noise from the party in the courtyard that lasted until 11.30 pm. Wifi connection seemed erratic at times. Wish there was coffee/tea making facilities in the room.
Review 101:Beauty of the hotel courtyard. Strategically located in relation to historical and scenic sights.
Review 102:There remains just one mystery: Why is breakfast served in a strange, small, dark cellar room whereas the beautiful patio with (empty) restaurant tables is not used at all during the day...??? We recommend to have breakfast in one of the many bars nearby.
Review 103:- Wonderful calm and beautiful place in perfect location just around the corner of Mezquita and Alcazar; very nice room on 1st floor - we really enjoyed it. - Excellent service (luggage, car parking)
Review 104:We had a room with an amazing view. The furnishings were beautiful, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. Accommodations fit for a queen! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They fixed a booking problem and even sent us a little tray of fruit and sweets. Bravos to this gem of a hotel!
Review 105:It would be great if there is wifi in the room though it worked just outside the room. Breakfast could be in a better room than in the basement. But this us not a problem because it is better and cheaper to have breakfast at local cafes just 2 minutes away.
Review 106:THe entire hotel is in a courtyard with flowers hanging tastefully, which is very typical Cordoba. Staying in the hotel really gives a great Cordoba experience. The location of the hotle is another plus , right at the Jewish area and very close to the San Basilio area and the Mesquita too.The entire staff is friendly and helpful.
Review 107:Poor WiFi
Review 108:Lovely room Friendly staff, Excellent location -e verything on your doorstep Full of little courtyards all differenct Good air conditioning, essential as it was hot here
Review 109:Breakfast was poor quality for the price and totally self service. It was a scrum to get a table in an underground room. Why not use the lovely courtyards?
Review 110:The building and courtyards were charming. Very comfortable, spacious room. Very central location in the old town. Easy to walk to sights
Review 111:A haven of quiet, so many different courtyards to discover, each one different. Characterful historical property, with all the modern facilities needed...and amazingly efficient air conditioning, essential when it was 41C outside!
Review 112:Not much to dislike. The handy location in the old quarter inevitably means that driving and parking is tricky but it can't be helped. Quite expensive but worth it on balance.
Review 113:Liked pretty much everything. Extremely handy for visiting the Mezquita and the maze of streets around it. Loved the city and staying here meant we were not far from all the key points of interest. Good food in an interesting and attractive old building.
Review 114:Shower in our room was much too hot and we couldn't get it adjusted.Reported this to reception but nothing happened.
Review 115:Liked location patios within hotel and piano bar lounge
Review 116:Wifi not available in rooms.
Review 117:Location is perfect and the hotel itself is quite beautiful. The restaurant food and wine is better than much of what is in the area.
Review 118:Not really bad but had to sit on (lovely) corridor balcony to get Wifi.
Review 119:Staff cheerful and helpful. Lovely patios, pool in fascinating building. Great valet parking.
Review 120:Nothing we didn't like.
Review 121:We liked everything about our stay. This beautiful hotel is just inside the city gate of ancient Cordoba. It is like stepping back in time, but with modern, pristine amenities. Property is picturesque, rooms are comfortable, bathroom modern. Location is fantastic - close to everything. Magical place to stay & walk around Cordoba.
Review 122:While room 55 has wonderful character the bathroom is a little cramped. Perhaps it could be redesigned without the toilet cabin?
Review 123:Loved the Old World Charm of the building and the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Location is also excellent being just far enough from the main attractions to be peaceful yet close enough for easy access.
Review 124:Loud toilet sounds like a vacuum cleaner going full blast. We stayed on a lobby level room and heard people talking outside our room, specially in the morning. Rooms could use a facelift.
Review 125:The hotel's location is first rate. The hotel staff was superb. The hotel is a beautiful old building that has been remodeled.
Review 126:Perfect location, all the staff were very pleasant. We had two beds, as requested, I forgot to ask for a view but we were out the whole time anyway and the room was quiet. We also had dinner which was very good.
