Reviews for Eatabe Luxor Hotel
Review 1:The only problem is the lack of tourists
Review 2:the staff here are superb. The location is perfect. I have stayed here a few times it's the staff , Location and service that keep me going back
Review 3:Nothing!
Review 4:All is good!room is clean, bed is comfortable, staff are friendly, garden is beautiful, just a walk distance to Luxor Temple, Luxor musem and ferry to west bank.
Review 5:- wifi only available in lobby, not in room - lobby smell like a smoking parlor, many people smoke in the lobby
Review 6:- nice hotel all around - great location for sightseeing in luxor - walking distance to luxor temple - decent breakfast with varities - next to the nile with great view
Review 7:The room. It was equalant to zero star! Bed was uncomfortable. Carpet in the room was old as well as tiles in the bathroom.
Review 8:Dinning environment and breakfast.
Review 9:Luxor is in trouble due of lack of tourism, that makes the few tourists around suffer more and more pressure, hope they recover soon
Review 10:Great reception team, very professional, free upgrade to a very good room
Review 11:The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The bar and restaurants were great, and the pool was lovely to relax by. The room as a good size with a balcony, was cleaned well every day and was very quiet at night which was appreciated.
Review 12:On checking out I was incorrectly charged for dinner for my first night even though I paid for half board, but when I questioned this the staff member was very unhelpful and just said for me to take my receipt and then question it with the office when I got home. I had to catch my train and didn't have time to argue further so I had to just pay for it and check out.
Review 13:Nice facilities, excellent location.
Review 14:Service at individual tables was a little slow . at breakfast. There was no evening entertainment and the cost of alcohol was expensive in the hotel
Review 15:The staff were very welcoming and kind. The Pool was in a nice location amongst a garden and trees. The view from the front balcony bedroom afforded a good view of the Cornish and daily sunsets
Review 16:The elevator didn't work well (one time we were stuck) at the last day we notify the hotel about the problem, and after a few minutes they turned off the elevators and we had to going down with ours bags throughout the 3 floors. They don`t have too many options at the restaurant for dinner. And the same dish we ask (fried cheese) came one day with a normal portion and other day with half quantity of cheese and a lot of french fries (they don't have a pattern). They ask me at check-out to answer a questionnaire about my stay, and stayed beside me seeing and waiting. This makes you feel uncomfortable to be 100% sincere with the questions. And of course normally you don`t have time enough and calm to answer this at check-out.
Review 17:Very comfortable room
Review 18:Very nice,clean hotel,with a perfect location,we stayed 4 nights,very comfortable room,nice view on the nile river,near to retaurants and shops...it was perfect stay
Review 19:We booked one day tour to west bank and east bank. I think he cheated us and charged for 60 dollar per person.
Review 20:the location and the price is resonable. The hotel lobby is very beautful.
Review 21:pool was not clean water at all, I advise not to swim in it. I got some minor bed bug bites but that's almost a hazard in any hotel to be frank in places like this. I would go back yes though as it was a nice hotel and good value for money and amazing location
Review 22:the staff were excellent bu the whole of luxor was desrerted. get all half board as the evening meals are brilliant, worth the money alone.
Review 23:There was a certain weird security guard asking very inappropriate questions and asking for money for cigarettes, proper weirdo so that was just an off put
Review 24:The pool right outside the hotel room
Review 25:nothing at all
Review 26:This is a 4 star hotel with the heart of a 2 star hotel, if you know what i mean. the staff was so warm and friendly. the food, drinks, laundry and room service were super affordable. it was quite a treat for us, as we typically can't afford a place like this in the states. the breakfast was really good too and held me through the day. the water was hot and the view of the nile was fabulous. this has been my favorite hotel ever.
Review 27:The sites at Luxor are spectacular. The people and town of Luxor areterrible. Never have I experienced such harrasment anywhere in all of mytravels. People in shops trying to cheat me, horse and carriage driversyelling at me,one guy followed me for three blocks yelling at me tryingto get me to take a ride for one hour. The felucca Gus are just as badand some are very intimidating and threatening. I understand that theyare desperate for business but I would never go back to Luxor. If I dogo back I will stay in the hotel grounds and only take day tours.
Review 28:Everything about the hotel was excellent.
Review 29:Very poor varieties of food for breakfast, bathrooms must be renovated. It's definitely not 4 stars hotel.
Review 30:Perfect location near Luxor temple, Nile view, VERY friendly stuff, AC in the rooms, cleanliness.
Review 31:shame not to see more tourist within the area,
Review 32:everything was as good as the many times i have been before, a very enjoyable stay, everyone still as friendly and always made you feel welcome
Review 33:When we Araaive The staff of hotel not welcome us.WiFi no avalibal at the room, only at the lopy. Air conditioni not work in all our room so it was hot at the room and we did not sleep good.
Review 34:I like the location of the hotel.
Review 35:The reception stuff is not friendly The bathroom must have a step under the panio because its dangerous coming out from shower
Review 36:A big hotel with many facilities
Review 37:I stay here regularly because of the good location (near the national ferry) and the decent breakfast (which they box up if you go out early) and nice views of the Nile. Also near the Luxor temple and a short cab ride to Karnak. Very near the new Souq. Has a very nice pool as well.
Review 38:Couldn't change large E£ notes to smaller for taxi's etc
Review 39:Very friendly staff, pool & garden area was lovely and well maintained, room clean & tidy, had English movies on the TV to watch, really enjoyed our stay
Review 40:the bed was too soft
Review 41:I have an early departure flight and I have to get to the airport at 5am and the hotel is able to prepare a breakfast box for me to take along. The room service is great too!
Review 42:The pool is not heated. The view is on the noisy city street, though with a sweeping Nile view. The staff is not attentive to the comfort of their guests, looks like. They placed us next door to some local male guests who were watching football late at night at high volume... Although all more distant rooms at the floor were not occupied... Typically Egyptian attitude - doing what comforts the staff and not the guests... Pity...
Review 43:The renovated rooms with a kettle and Nile view.
Review 44:Worst reception and management i have ever seen in a hotel. I visited more than 100 hotels all over the world, but I have not seen such uneducated unskilled management staff.
Review 45:Location price
Review 46:Not very clean, telephone broken and staff would not help after hours. No hot water in many rooms but they still handed the keys out. Waiter yelled at me 2 times. Try somewhere else. Barking dog by pool.
Review 47:They tried-some of the staff did. Swimming pool was nice, price good.
Review 48:Check in was slow. They demanded immediate full payment even before i saw the room. The pool closes at sunset, not very useful after a day of sightseeing. Laundry was very expensive. So was the restaurant. There was no complementary water, tea or coffee. Internet is available only in the lobby. In the end, I thought the cheap room was a loss leader for everything else...
Review 49:The location is great, in between Luxor temple and Luxor museum, close to restaurants and bazaar.
Review 50:Wifi is only in the hotel lobby, which is somewhat smoky. But then, I found smoking a widespread problem in Egypt. Curiously there was a kettle and cups in my room but no tea or coffee. Bring your own system, I guess! I never asked - I was carrying supplies - but the room was cleaned every day and no supplies appeared :-)
Review 51:10/10 for location. It is at the far end of the corniche (riverside road), the opposite end to all the other major hotels. But this is perfect. Luxor Temple is a five minute walk one way, Luxor Museum five minutes the other. Ferry to the West Bank is three minutes; tourist souk fifteen. Lovely hotel pool with gorgeous garden. Room had a perfect view of the Nile, across to Hatshepsut's Temple. Balcony with a table and chairs. Comfy bed. Hot bath. Decent breakfast. Very quiet hotel. Kind, attentive staff. Nothing was too much bother for them. I would definitely recommend this hotel. And at the current price, it's a complete bargain. PS there is a great little shop really close by (head left as you come out of the hotel) It's called Harry's and the owner is really kind and welcoming. No hassle whatsoever.
Review 52:Bed was too soft for my liking but I slept alright.
Review 53:Very nice staff. Nice room, Very goo location, Temple of luxor, 2Museums and local ferry to west bank are all within short walking distance. Not as noizy as I imagined. Room service food is reasonable and good.
Review 54:None.
Review 55:So Amazing that I wanna stay for a whole week there. Four-starred hotel with very very low price. The room is well-equipped and clean. The buffet breakfast is very satisfactory. The swimming pool is lovely and clean and good view. The location is good and easy to find. Can make a reservation of hot air balloon right before the reception desk and the price is also cheap. The coffee shop is open 24 hours and both the food and the price are reasonable. The staff is nice and polite. I love here very very much. I will sure stay here again if I come to Luxor next time.
Review 56:The swimming pool was full of nasty people who are not resedients, the rooms not looks like the photos u provided here its smaller!
Review 57:The view from the room was awsome
Review 58:the breakfast - not that it's bad, but didn't have much options for a continental buffet.
Review 59:The hotel location is great with the nile view rooms
Review 60:Great location fantastic views of the Nile and cruise ships. Very convenient for shopping and walking along the river front.
Review 61:Furniture is very old ,bath room same carpet was bad

Review 77:* Excellent location * Very professional staff * Smell of History
Review 78:Close to center of Luxor and not far from the Airport. Right opposite the Nile and views of the Valley of the Kings.
Review 79:Nothing stayed here many times I have stayed in nicer buildings but never a better hotel it's like a home from home
Review 80:The staff and the location

Review 99:nothing
Review 100:stuff room bed swimming pool nile view
Review 101:Beds
Review 102:the hotel is clean, good staff.
Review 103:Really loved the pool and surrounding gardens. Such a pity that tourists are staying away from Egypt as our experience was of an amazing, safe place with everyone so helpful and friendly. Really hope that things pick up soon so that this excellent hotel can once again have the success it deserves
Review 104:There are no refreshment on the minibar, just an empty refrigerator. Bring your own snacks & drinks to your room as there is no complementary drinks. Room service food menu is poor and food is not in a good quality. The open buffet breakfast doesn't have many choices.
Review 105:The room with Nile View. The staff we friendly. I forgot to lock the electronic safe & requested room to be cleaned, when I get back the safe was untouched although it was widely open.
Review 106:I had a lovely room with a great view of the Nile. The hotel was close to the luxor & Karnack temples and just a boat ride away from the west bank. The staff were very helpful, informative & friendly.
Review 107:Other than the omelette I wasn't keen on the breakfast.
Review 108:Pool area was great. Guest manager Aly Mohamed was very friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced hotel close to everything.
Review 109:The only downside I could see was that there was no buffet breakfast, which is usually wonderful at this hotel. Because of the troubles in Cairo and shortage of guests they had an a la carte breakfast which meant you had to wait for it to be cooked and served to you. But still everything was on offer just that I like to wander around and see what I fancy to eat.
Review 110:This hotel was once called Etap, then changed to Mercure and is now El Luxor - Eatab owned by the Egyptian group Misr Travel. All the staff are the same and are very helpful. It has extensive grounds which are all immaculately kept. Rooms are clean and well kept as are all the hallways and corridors. Location is great on the Corniche and its right next door to the Governors office so security is also good. ATM in the lobby so nice and secure. So much safer than using our cards in the streets. Bank in the lobby to change money. Safe in the room.
Review 111:some staff need to to take training courses in the art of dealing with guests, but not all staff
Review 112:very very nice location, just a 20 minutes from Luxor airport.the hote is very clean,Very quiet and you feel comfortable and Recreation there,Room cleaned daily via room service.anyway i think this hotel one of the best hotel in luxor
Review 113:I have stayed at the El Luxor three times now and everything about it is great. The staff, facilities, cleanliness, position, price, in fact everything about this hotel is absolutely wonderful. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and would definitely stay there again.
Review 114:The air conditioning in the rooms did not work, the minibar was emptyand the furnishings looked outdated. There was a tea tray bit no supply of tea or coffee. The staff was surprised at check-out when we asked to have the bill printed on the hotel's letterhead.
Review 115:Good value for money, the lunch buffet was plentiful and varied
Review 116:We were the only ones allocated an older room whilst the few staying all had the new refurbished ones why ?? If end had been given one we may have returned and just because we weref first timers there we paid same as the other returning guests ????
Review 117:Location good hotel clean food not good
Review 118:There is wifi in the lobby but if you do not have a device you will have to wait until a staff member allows you to use one of the their computers. If you decide to walk you will suffer severe hassle from drivers of the coaches which have a stop point just in front of the hotel.
Review 119:The Luxor Museum is very good and a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The room and the bathroom are spacious, silent and clean. The pool is nice. The breakfast is fair and the staff is ok.
Review 120:Redecoration going on in some areas of the hotel so a little noise can be heard but this starts late in the morning and finishes well before the evening.
Review 121:Loved the location of this hotel with beautiful views over the nile and only a short distance from many of the amazing sights Luxor has to offer. The staff are very helpful and the rooms are cleaned daily. Would recommend this hotel to all types of traveller.
Review 122:Main eating area on the left of reception was not to the same standardas the Italian.
Review 123:Loved the convenient location. Our favourite facility was the largeoutdoor pool in tranquil gardens and the Italian resturant. The front ofhouse staff were friendly and incredibly helpful especially when we hadto stay another night due to local train strikes.
Review 124:The upstairs restaurant offers a poor lunch.
Review 125:The location is great. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The siege is a little anoying, therefore, we recomend the taxi driver Mr. Adel, who works rigth in front of the hotel, and speaks English.
Review 126:breakfast was perfectly adequate but monotonous(no changes at all in 7 days);internet use ridiculously expensive.
Review 127:excellent location on Corniche esplanade and very near Luxor Museum;easy walk(10 mins)to Luxor Temple, ferry to west bank;excellent ,large swimming pool in attractive grounds;clean,well-provided rooms easily accessed \by lifts;good value for money;staff helpful and not pushy for tips.
Review 128:The A/C was not working in the whole hotel! I went on February 2013, it was 27 degrees and I'm used to sleeping in A/C ! but I was told that in winter they cannot turn on the ACs :(
Review 129:The hotel location is Excellent! very close to the Market and down town. it has a marvelous river view. and horses carriages are always waiting in front of the hotel to take you anywhere in the city with reasonable prices " you have to bargain" !
