Reviews for Hotel Empordà
Review 1:Great Location in Figueres Spain, FREE Parking, clean room, the only hotel in Spain that they knew how to make an omelette, I think the best breakfast we had, but could improve a little, and I'm comparing to a Marriot 5 star in Madrid and Barcelona, heard they have a great restaurant but didnt try it.. will be back
Review 2:Next door kept on opening their doors onto the balcony which was quite noisy and irritating especially after a long drive and we needed the rest!!
Review 3:Lovely hotel that welcomed pets, clean big double room with room service and as we arrived quite late was a bonus!
Review 4:The suite had best bed ever!! Perfect recovery sleep!! The restaurant is extraordinary, and it's on Top 10 of world best hotel restaurants! Amazing boletus and Ous de Reig!
Review 5:Its was Hot (August) room had Mosquito's splatted on walls and ceilings and needed further debugging - not a pretty sight
Review 6:Good location - short stroll into city Amazing garden breakfast Good Staff
Review 7:There was a foul smell in the upstairs corridors in the morning, don't know if it came from outside the hotel or drain pipes or what.
Review 8:The receptionist was a perfect ten from the very beginning, smiling and helpful, with good English skills. Rooms: very tidy, good beds, bathroom well equipped. Breakfast was brilliant, lots of local or regional products on offer. Excellent waiting staff at the breakfast, too. Outside the hotel, a wonderful view over a peaceful field against mountains. I have already recommended this place to all my friends on FB.
Review 9:Family run hotel - Modern hotel facilities offered with 'old-fashioned' charm and excellent service. Breakfast on the terrace was fabulous. Its location on the edge of town makes it perfect for a touring holiday with a car. Even our normally reticent 25 year-old daughter thought it was a lovely hotel with lovely staff. We will definitely be back.
Review 10:Cannot get any social media on WiFi.
Review 11:Excellent breakfast, very good clean rooms, plenty of parking, convenient for town centre and motorway. Top value for the money I paid.
Review 12:We stayed here as a stop over to visit the Dali museum. The hotel is fine a little tired looking. But the staff were friendly and the breakfast was lovely a good selection. We were able to walk to the museum about 10 mins so it was perfect for us and served its purpose.
Review 13:The bath looked so dirty that we couldn't use it. The bathroom room needs some maintenance/decorating.
Review 14:All the staff were friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome.
Review 15:None
Review 16:Modern hotel , a short distance from Dali Museum and the town square , where some really good bars and restaurants are to be found . Onsite covered parking.
Review 17:I thought the rooms could benefit from some wall art as they were a little bland.
Review 18:Good location just a short distance from AP-7 motorway when travelling from Alicante to St Tropez area and a good breakfast to set you up for the journey.
Review 19:We stayed at this hotel on our way to Barcelona. Although Figueres is a small town, this hotel is far from the town centre on foot (at least a 20 minute walk). We had booked a suite (which was obviously the most expensive room) and the hotel staff had confirmed that they would be preparing an extra bed for the child free of charge. The extra bed was placed in a separate room (because the suite was more like an apartment rather than a hotel room). It didn't work out for us Half of the 'suite' was cold because the heaters were not working whilst most of the furniture and decorations are a bit run down except for the main bedroom. The hotel in general has the 80s feel. Even the way the staff dress. TV Channels were mainly all in Spanish. Upon check out out, we found out that we were charged for the kid's breakfast (6.5 Euro) but more seriously was the fact that we were charged (5 Euro) for the 2 small glasses of milk I asked the restaurant staff the night before. Never was I charged (from any hotel in the world) for some warm milk for the infants to get them to sleep. I found this preposterous
Review 20:The breakfast was excellent with a good selection of local cheeses and sausage. Very nice. The gentleman at the breakfast was also so polite and helpful. The hotel, although far from the town centre is very close to the highway and offers free (not secure) parking.
Review 21:Wifi barely existed speed was 0.4gb ,the decor is very tired and the wooden shutters on the windows rattled in the wind during the night.
Review 22:Close to motorway
Review 23:Nothing really
Review 24:Quality of accommodation Gourmet restaurant with excellent service (though high prices to match) Convenient for Dali museums etc No charge for pets
Review 25:The hotel gives an immediate impression of style - the decor is warm and interesting, the staff extremely efficient and friendly (nothing was too much trouble) and the room, which has a nice balcony to relax on, was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Good parking; excellent restaurant - we will definitely come here again.
Review 26:Rooms Basic, disorganised furniture no deco, Window/ door covering green and ugly. We spend many nights at Hotels booked through Bookings.com this time 4-star Price 2-star room. Picture - no way near correct. Are you sure it isthe same Hotel? Very disapointed. More like a prison cell.
Review 27:Hotel is on the edge of town which is good in one way -you don't get lost in the one-way streets when finding it, but it means a 10-15 minute walk to the centre. During our stay in late October the wind blew strongly and rattled the windows and shutters, making a noisy couple of nights.
Review 28:Lots of parking spaces, big room, great view from the balcony. Quite an up-market town, perhaps as a result of gaving the Dali museum?
Review 29:It was all perfect
Review 30:Perfect owner of the Hotel controlling nearly everything in the background well trained staff very friendly remembering you as client if you come back excellent food
Review 31:All OK
Review 32:Excellent location to E15. Good restaurant. Also close to Dali Museum and Castell San Ferran. This is the second time that we have stayed at this hotel.
Review 33:Beds weren't comfortable, our room was at the front of hotel and heard lots of road noise all night.
Review 34:Nice clean hotel, neat atmosphere, very nice staff
Review 35:The restaurant is too expensive for my taste
Review 36:Very good location, just a 15 minute walk from the Old Town. The room was perfect, clean and with a nice little balcony. Very comfortable bed.
Review 37:Breakfast somewhat restricted. In particular lack of fruit selection.
Review 38:Friendly staff. Hotel with lovely ambience. Excellent food (if somewhat expensive).
Review 39:A kettle in the bedroom or microwave in the hallway would be useful for families traveling with babies.
Review 40:Friendly helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Very nice bathroom. Good breakfast and good wi-fi.
Review 41:The hotel provided a convenient stopover for our journey back to the UK & the food was excellent.
Review 42:comfortable, clean hotel with superb restaurant at a very reasonable price.
Review 43:A pleasant hotel
Review 44:not many places near location to walk the dog
Review 45:very modern in style
Review 46:The suite was spacious, the staff was more than helpful and the food was delicious! Add breakfast to your booking cost- it was so worth it!
Review 47:A bit expensive in August.
Review 48:Free excellent WiFi. A fine restaurant.
Review 49:Quality of the rooms and air conditioning.
Review 50:Breakfast
Review 51:No porter for Luggage?
Review 52:Breakfast was excellent..Also the Dinner On Saturday with tasting wines was good
Review 53:Given the heat, a swimming pool would have been great
Review 54:Larege rooms, fun 60s style Great restaurant
Review 55:Choice of food in restaurant was limited and expensive.
Review 56:The Michelin star dinner at El Motel
Review 57:Bath tub with Jacuzzi was not clean, internet was a bit slow.
Review 58:Parking was free. it's near the city.
Review 59:4 starts hotel for a price of a three
Review 60:Restaurant very expensive. Would prefere a printed wine list not on an iPad!
Review 61:Good half way point to stay when doing a long journey.easy to find.
Review 62:Could not be faulted
Review 63:Every aspect - could not be better
Review 64:Free parking and WIFI Nice room
Review 65:No gym
Review 66:Nothing
Review 67:The whole experience is very good, but we go there for the restaurant.
Review 68:Best Hotel in Figueres
Review 69:rooms, breakfast, staff
Review 70:A road either side of the hotel making it noisy in the morning!
Review 71:Comfortable room with loads of space
Review 72:Rooms were very bare, cold with thin walls. We could hear the person in the next room snoring. Very noisy!
Review 73:Sheets were stiff and noisy.
Review 74:Food at restaurant was exceptional!
Review 75:price quality food not good
Review 76:Room and service ok
Review 77:Try the restaurant. great staff and food
Review 78:Staff helpfull Spoke french and english .Helped us with bags. Handy dog walk across the road
Review 79:Location,food and service. Unchanged in 12 years.
Review 80:great hotel with comfort and fabulous risotto from room service. staff very helpful and friendly. i would recommend this hotel
Review 81:Hotel is unprepossessing but room was well laid out and bathroom was well equipped.
Review 82:Nothing.
Review 83:Courtesy and helpfulness of the staff. Also the excellence of the restaurant.
Review 84:Staff very friendly.Excellent position and good rooms.Food excellent as we remembered it
Review 85:The room was too poor even for 3-star hotel. Nothing except sleepers could be refer to 4-star hotel.
Review 86:The staff
Review 87:It was a great location as we were able to walk to the dali museum in about ten minutes. It was also handy that there was a car park available.
Review 88:Excellent on comfort but also a first class restaurant
Review 89:Price of breakfast
Review 90:Confort and localization
Review 91:Proces restaurant top high!!
Review 92:The hotel is located at the boundry of the town on the noisy road. Breakfast was good however the dinner prices at the hotel's resturant are outrages and the food served for these prices is minimal, samples of dishes. Dinner at the hotel is not recommended.
Review 93:What a wonderful hotel. The staff could not do enough for us. The hotel has a fabulous restaurant with excellent staff. The rooms were very spacious and very comfortable beds.
Review 94:Bathroom was dirty Hotel is very dated We had balcony but no chairs on it to sit on Aircon didn't work and hotel was on a busy main road so couldn't leave the window open, therefore didn't sleep due to noise Breakfast was very expensive, much more than any other hotel so we went out for breakfast It was too far to walk anywhere Over priced and over rated, it should be no more than a 2 star
Review 95:We were looking for a good hotel on our Way back home which accepts dogs. Not an easy task in Spain. Even though the hotel restaurant does not accept dogs (like everywhere in Spain) Roses on the coast is very close with many terraced restaurants where dogs are admitted. In this sense the hotel fulfilled our requirements very well.
Review 96:The staff was not to friendly
Review 97:The hotel comes as 4 stars so you have high speciations just to be desspointed as it is in the tired side walls flaking etc.had not come with higher spectation it would of been ok
Review 98:The drains in the bathroom are impaired. Le pilette degli scarichi in bagno sono deteriorate. The parking closed garage with payment and its cost (considering that the hotel is not in city center).
Review 99:Full breakfast and quality and friendly staff. Colazione completa e di qualità. Quiet room at the back of the hotel. Camera sul retro molto tranquilla.
Review 100:Room doors not isolated from noise and fresh air. You feel like sleeping on the road. Very uncomfortable. Left earlier than scheduled, lost 59 euros, will never come back.
Review 101:They keep the room prices fair to entice you in and charge the earth for food and drinks.. A small beer was 5€ 20 and the cheapest set meal in the restaurant around €26. Had 1 beer and went to the Fosters Hollywood restaurant nearby, good food and drink almost half the price.
Review 102:Jacuzzi bath was a bonus and nice, clean modern rooms.
Review 103:Double bed was two singles pushed together. Request for extra towels did not happen. Clearly not a four star hotel even for Europe.
Review 104:Free parking and free internet.
Review 105:The room decor is somewhat clinical and austere and could benefit from additional/upgraded amenities such as clock, area rugs, bedside lighting. When it's windy at night the sound of the exterior patio louvrered doors banging together keeps guest fr sound sleep.
Review 106:Excellent food and wine. Breakfast buffet offers outstanding assortment of fresh local foods. Staff was cordial and very helpful with my requests. The location is in a small town and this property is by far the best place to stay.
Review 107:Some street noise from cars on cobbled side road.
Review 108:Room, garage parking, excellent restaurant, both dinner and breakfast, great location for en-route travellers
Review 109:The room looked quite poor to be a 4 star hotel. The air conditioning was old and not totally configurable. The restaurant disappointed me by the price-quality relationship. You can find cheaper restaurants where quality is the same or better.
Review 110:It was clean. The shampoo smelled nice.
Review 111:our suite was a bit small. with 4 bedsinside was difficult to move between them
Review 112:very good food, nice staff however speaking rather spanish only, very reach breakfest buffet,
Review 113:Our room would have been fine as a double but was pokey with a third bed crammed in, taking away from the otherwise modern/luxury aura of what was a good hotel.
Review 114:A great location just away from the hustle of the centre. The restaurant was excellent although expensive.
Review 115:No particular dislikes.
Review 116:Friendly staff and good service. Hotel within easy walking distance of the town centre along a shady street. Very good dinner and breakfast.
Review 117:Excellent location for a one night stop en route from a four weekholiday around Europe to our home near Denia in Spain. However willprobably return in order to explore the area and also the CastilloSan Ferran.
