Reviews for Hotel & Boutique Spa Adealba

Review 1:Pretentious desire to sell itself as a romantic hotel - we were put in a so called romantic duplex room, a badly maintained - in fact falling to bits two story room with two huge televisions that we didn't care about and a steep and long flight of steps between the bed and the toilet and also the shower and the wardrobe. Personally have no desire to sit on an ugly sofa watching a cinema sized TV at the same time as watching my beloved in the shower ???? However they were very gracious about our complaints and reduced the price - so full marks for that.

Review 2:We asked to reduce our stay from 2 Nights to 2. We were very disappointed. This hotel compared very badly to the other hotels we stayed in of similar price.

Review 3:The AC situation was not so good. After three or four attempts to have the staff check the lack of cooling off in the room, we quickly realized that the AC is not set to cool that much. What's worse is that they control the "activation" of the AC and the temperature from the front desk. In a place like Extremadura, it's imperative a hotel let you set your own room to be as cold as you like.

Review 4:The location and hotel itself was nice.

Review 5:only detail, needed more room round wash basin to put toiletries.

Review 6:everything, lovely boutique hotel, great attention to detail, reasonable parking nearby, friendly staff, fabulous room. access to spa was added bonus.

Review 7:Hotel shabby and smelly, staff not very helpful or efficient.hotel car park 400 yards away, breakfast was not what you would expect in a supposed quality establishment.

Review 8:Very little .

Review 9:Spa was not working but we were iffered free breakfast as compensation.

Review 10:Very nice reception, good tipps for going out and eat, nice big rooms combining old fashioned and modern style, great feeling.

Review 11:The hotel was very gloomy with a bad odour in our room. Breakfast was very basic as were the room facilities. Needs an overhaul

Review 12:Staff were very helpful.

Review 13:Cannot fault this hotel.

Review 14:The size of the superior double room was superb. Vaulted ceilings add to the feeling of space. King size bed was very comfortable. Very classy boutique hotel in a great location. Turn right at the front door and you stumble across the Templo de Diana. Turn left and you are no sooner at the Alcazaba & Puente Romano. Friendly young women on the front desk and very helpful, unlike other hotels I've stayed at throughout Spain.

Review 15:Quality and comfort of the room - Ceiling windows would not open, leaving the area of the bed with no ventilation - a/c incredibly noisy - unfortunate location of a damped bathtub - moist stains around the shower

Review 16:Kindness of service

Review 17:The receptionists speak english, but pretty poorly. But they are nice and try to help/understand, so you just need a little patience

Review 18:Great location in the centre We had a huge terrace Modern and comfortable design of the room

Review 19:Firstly this hotel DOES NOT have parking - it is in the middle of a small historic town with very narrow streets. There is pull in, however parking is in a multi story car park nearby. We left the car in the pull in and the vehicle was covered in pidgeon droppings in the morning, We stayed in the duplex suite with wooden spiral staircase with is lethal. On arrival we should have changed rooms/hotel as the bedroom was on the upper level with toilet on the lower level. I decided only to drink water that evening as the stairs were so dangerous. Unfortunately my worst nightmare happened when during the night I fell down the last few steps, en-route to the bathroom. I have photos of my injuries and should have gone to a hospital. The staff shrugged me off with a bottle of wine! Very unacceptable

Review 20:Location

Review 21:Very little

Review 22:Two levels, lack of little furniture, tables, any chairs, plugs....

Review 23:Bathroom smelled terribly, the power went off I. The room; uncomfrtable bed.

Review 24:This whole experience was depressing

Review 25:Internet was intermittent and not available for a 24hr period

Review 26:The shower of our room did not work!

Review 27:Staff is really nice and helpful.

Review 28:There was nothing in this hotel that I can fault.

Review 29:The jacuzzi style bath and the split level seating area and bedroom

Review 30:Located in the centre. A pleasing modern interior in an old building.

Review 31:Poor breakfast, location difficult to reach by car

Review 32:Friendly staff

Review 33:Had a problem in the bathroom and they had to call a plumber to fix it.

Review 34:We were able to walk to most of the main tourist attractions.

Review 35:Unfriendly staff, noisy, dirty towels, poor breakfast.

Review 36:Merida

Review 37:Wifi did not Work. Aircondition out of function. Very noisy.

Review 38:The thing I liked the most was the private spa

Review 39:Think the modern decor will get very dated and wasn't of the top quality for lasting!

Review 40:Very nice, friendly and helpful staff.

Review 41:Location Accomadation Facilities Staff

Review 42:Great location. Its small and personal.

Review 43:Centrally located to Roman ruins and lovely restaurants

Review 44:Wifi didn't work - although staff did try and maintenance was poor.

Review 45:Friendly and helpful staff, great location. Gave us good disconuts on parking and breakfast from prices listed on website.

Review 46:on arrival at 7pm the receptioneous was obvisouly on a private call & had no intention of us interrupting her until she was finished, then she was quite abrupt. The elevator wasnt working so we had to carry our bags up the steps. the lights were on sensors & kept going off before you got even half way up each flight. then we couldnt even get a meal / snack /room service as "it is too late & we should have made a reservation if we wanted to eat there" - it was 7pm. We asked if somewhere to eat in the town - she replied "no". Wasnt helpful with what Merida had to offer (eg sights, where things were, or even how close we were to the Roman Ruins) - we found that out ourselves by accident walking around. Hotel said had "onsite parking" - I would not agree. There was 1 holding / drop off parking spot out the front. When you wanted your car you had to give them at least 20 minutes notice so that someonw could go to get your car!! the room safe didnt work. Breakfast was awful. I didnt get what I ordered. the waitress couldnt understand english at all plus she dropped the teapot over me. which didnt seem to bother her!

Review 47:close to some of the Roman ruins - comfortable walking distance.

Review 48:Car access, Air on didn't work. Person on duty at night couldn't get it working

Review 49:Position was good, but hard to access by car. Receptionist (Maria) was excellent

Review 50:noisy and faulty air condition unit that only operated at one setting fortunately summer had not arrived yet!

Review 51:Great design but needs to fix a few problems. Good value if not concerned with noisy air condition. On of the better hotels. Staff were good but premises needed updating.

Review 52:No information in the room about the gadgets and lighting. Apparentlywe would have seen them on the T.V. Had we used it, shame receptiondidnt tell us.

Review 53:We had the duplex suit, very nice, Modern and clean. Merida isonly worth visiting to see the ruins, thr rest of the town is verydown at heel.

Review 54:Very nice hotel. Staff at the reception works very well. We were greetedwith a glass of champagne. The room was clean and big. Bath room has ashower and a bath with hydromassage. Comfortable bed. We used to stay inMerida at another hotel, but this is much better.

Review 55:Non buffet breakfast. No breakfast menu in English language and the staff was not able to translate the menu. Very limited variation of selections for the breakfast. Also there were only two parking places even for temporary parking. So we needed to drive around until the Hotel was able to arrange the parking. For me it was not an four star hotel.

Review 56:Good location in the old town.

Review 57:They have the worst shower design I have ever used. Either you chose the water to drible out at top, which is very bad and not what I would consider a shower. Or you have to use handheld wand, which means you only have one hand to use for washing... Very wacky shower. But if you can hande the shower, the hotel would be fine to stay at.

Review 58:Staff seemed very nice. Hotel was clean.

Review 59:The Hotel was very tired in appearance most of the staff did not speakenglish. The hotel really needed a complete refurbishment. My roomsmelled of sewerage and the shower did not work. The seating was badlystained and this was what they considered there club room. The breakfast was unbelievably poor. With slow service in fact, if I knew how badit was I would not have waited. All in all I would not recommend thishotel very third rate.

Review 60:The only positive point is that it was close to the roman ruins. And thecar park was secure.

Review 61:Automated air conditioning switched off during the night. Mediocre breakfast.

Review 62:Great location next to the Roman temple of Diana and a short walk to a fantastic museum of Roman artefacts. Contemporary hotel.

Review 63:A good location was great and they are extremely nice people however nothing seemed to work. The A/C was impossible to work out, there was piped music coming from places even the staff couldn't find, lights didn't work the WIFI didnt work, there weren't globes in some lights and even the coke in the fridge was flat. Disappointing

Review 64:A good location was great and they are extremely nice people.

Review 65:We booked the hotel as it has secure parking but you have to pull up in the parking space next to the hotel and then the staff take your car to park it. The room was nice, ours looked over a back street but it was quiet. The room looked nice and the shower room was big and the shower was powerful. We did not try the spa. The breakfast room is quite small so you need to choose when to go down to breakfast but the choice is fine. There is free wi-fi in public areas, it didn't reach as far as our room. There is a snack bar type area and a bar. They didn't serve late into the evening.

Review 66:We could not sleep it was 90 degrees in the room in the staff did nothing to make that better but they said they were going to fix it 3 * and still nothing they just didn't seem to care I wouldn't stay at this hotel if you paid me

Review 67:First we stayed in a room that is near the machine house ( very noisy!Room 26). But we asked to change and our request was accepted. It isvery dificult to park the car. You can park the car for a moment nearthe hotel to check in, but then you have to park it elsewhere.

Review 68:The hotel is very relaxing. The location is in the centre of the city. You can go walking to the main monuments. Very nice restaurants andshops nearby. The staff is very friendly. You can make spa circuits fora good price also.

Review 69:The room was cool, the heater was nos good

Review 70:Locación is perfect

Review 71:There was maintenance missing in our room (electricity, sink...)

Review 72:The location was fantastic and the staff were so helpful.

Review 73:getting there

Review 74:although difficult to, what A gem; so close to all the wonderful roman and moorish buildings will return

Review 75:Spa hotel but you pay for everything No English tv channels

Review 76:Central location

Review 77:Air conditioning unit in bedroom was noisy.
