Reviews for Maritim Jolie Ville Kings Island

Review 1:The food this visit is not as good as before . I would rate as more like 3star in this department . Very disappointed unfortunately !!!

Review 2:Been here many times and always so beautiful. Location is stunning.

Review 3:as long as you don't expect international 5 star standards it's ok value for money (we paid around 70 euro). The rooms in the bungalows are not soundproof and we had to change rooms because we could hear every word our neighbours spoke through a connecting door. Moving to a room without connecting door improved things but you could still hear the TV set running next door. If you would like to go for real 5 stars, check out the Hilton north of Karnak Temple.

Review 4:Nice location and nicely landscaped gardens, friendly staff and ok breakfast

Review 5:I'm surprised drinking water wasn't provided daily in our room. Only one small bottle of water was given on the 1st day; after that, we had to buy our own water, which was quite expensive within the hotel. We eventually bought water from shops in Luxor town at a more reasonable price.

Review 6:- views of the Nile and Valley of the Kings - gardens and birds in hotel grounds

Review 7:Not a 5 star Hotel as per European standards but still very nice.

Review 8:Good overall experience. Hotel is very spacious and has fantastic gardens and pools. Food is very good and a good selection as well. Hotel has a free shuttle to center (aprox 8 min drive) or alternatively taxis are always available and are not expensive. It is the perfect choice if you are looking for a place that combines relax moments and cultural tourism. Also a great option if you are travelling with kids. very safe. Great views over the Nile.

Review 9:The distance from Reception was considerable so sometimes a pleasant walk by the river or a long wait for transport for the luggage when busy.

Review 10:Excellent and attentive staff. Spacious room with wonderful view of the Nile. Pleasant spacious grounds for a stroll.

Review 11:Soundproofing between the rooms is bad and the changing rooms by the infinity pools were very dirty. I believe this was due to the semi off peak season but it was unacceptable and the only real negative of our experience.

Review 12:Superb location on a private island on the Nile, amazing infinity pool ( definitely see the sunset there), great breakfast, very well kept although old, landscaping is great and value for money superb. Staff is very friendly and laid back. Can't recommend the place highly enough.

Review 13:The beds were extremely comfortable but on further inspection they were camp beds with fold out legs. We ended up with a broken bed one night but it was fixed extremely quickly.

Review 14:The hotel had everything we needed, pools, restaurants, an ice cream parlour and little golf buggies to ferry you around. A bonus was that it was on its own island and you could walk around enjoying the scenery. Boat trips are available from the end of the jetty and there are daily activities happening each day, such as: bird watching, Arabic lessons, tennis etc. It was just perfect.

Review 15:Ac in room a little noisey but as its November not really needed

Review 16:Lovely location on a well laidout and landscaped private island right on the banks of the Nile - taxi to luxor town proper only $us3 or use their free bus Great breakfast and the evening buffet at around $13 was also okay We found our 3 nights here to be very comfortable and relaxing

Review 17:Very weak WiFi Signal in rooms. View of Nile from room was not good at all. Deluxe Nile View room given to us was at least 300m away from bank of Nile with Gym and Pool in between. Water is not complementary beyond 2 Bottles.

Review 18:Breakfast Buffet was great, lot of options, freshly made! Great Property with beautiful garden. Spacious Rooms

Review 19:1- no baord to show you the ways in the hotel عدم وجود لوحات ارشاديه داخل الفندق 2- the places is a little far from each other الاماكن بعيده قليلاً عن بعض

Review 20:1- Very quite and good place to feel really rest هادي جداً ويريح الاعصاب ، انصح فيه لاسبوع من ضمن شهر العسل 2- nice staff and totally different between them and the Qairo people الناس هناك طيبين جدا ويختلفون تماما عن سكان القاهره

Review 21:Note that there are no other restaurants around, but quality of restaurants on the premises is really good and at a normal price.

Review 22:Friendly staff unlike anywhere else in Egypt! Three large swimmingpools including a really nice infinitypool. Great location on the Nile a short distance from Luxor.

Review 23:Pools were dirty, slimey mould growing in the tile grouting, felt slippery and dirty under foot. Cleaner never left enough tea and milk in the room and sometimes didnt replace the cups.

Review 24:Location and setting are perfect. Beautiful gardens. Free transfer from airport as a returning guest.

Review 25:Wonderful location with views across the Nile to the Valley of the Kings. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff, spacious clean rooms, excellent facilities and good freshly cooked food. Highly recommended to young and old!

Review 26:Nothing

Review 27:The hotel gives us the best and relaxing moments of our Egypt tour. It is much much better than how it looks in the pictures. We extend our stay in Luxor after seeing the hotel. The staff is very kind and welcoming, free wifi is everywhere, an amazing view with a holy atmoshpere near by the Nile. The food is very delicious and open buffet has very wide variety.

Review 28:Nothing.

Review 29:Everything is great, the location (island in the Nile), the swimming pools, the gardens, the food, the staff. Great dinner buffet at a very reasonable price, the chef is really superb. the "infinitive pool" is a magical experience, feels like you are swimming in the Nile.

Review 30:We had problems since we arrived as we specifically asked for a king size bed and they gave us two beds (placed together). We went out to visit the city and we were told they were going to change the bed, when we arrive in the afternoon, the bed was still the same. We had to call reception and argue with them to change the bed until they did. The wifi didnt work at all in the room. Breakfast was ok the first day. The day we were leaving, we needed to be at the airport at 5.30 in the morning so we didnt have time to go for breakfast, we asked the reception if it was possible to prepare a lunch box for us and they said "no problem, you have to confirm before 18:00 in order for us to prepare the food", and so we confirmed. The next day at checkout they gave us the box with the breakfast and I can only describe it as disappointing. It had one apple, one little juice and some bread in it, unbelievable... I would not recommend this hotel. I was hoping for more quality of service

Review 31:The hotel was a bit isolated and is very big so the room was very quiet. The pools were very nice and had beautiful views of the nile.

Review 32:Hard to fault. Wifi was a bit poor, and it was quiet do not many kids clubs, but pools made up for that.

Review 33:The location is amazing, like being in a nature reserve by the Nike, but only minutes from town. The infinity pool is fabulous. Luxor is a wonderful, unique place, gentle and awash with history. Loved it!

Review 34:No thing

Review 35:Every Thing, This was for my brother's wedding party , worth mentioning that I had my wedding party over there also Thanks to Reham, Ahmed and Mr. Mohareb

Review 36:Internet is very porr especially for a business customer.

Review 37:I spent six weeks in Egypt on business. I stayed in many resorts on the Red Sea, in Luxor, and in Cairo. King's Island was the best. The grounds are extraordinary and well kept. Bird life is everywhere. The location on an island in the Nile is great.

Review 38:Wifi didn't reach the bedroom ever

Review 39:The staff were friendly and helpful a vast change from the people who live in town. Most tourist sites are money traps but worth seeing. The hotel helped me bargain for a taxi and not over pay.

Review 40:Loved that it's on it's own island! Stunning gardens, infinity pools right on the Nile make it feel like you're swimming in the Nile! Beautiful view of valley of the Kings, lovely accommodating staff and excellent food. 10/10!

Review 41:only the waiting time for the buggy which was not rally as per the other services

Review 42:The hotel should be included on the sightseeing in Luxor. We really love it and we was confused between staying in the hotel or visiting the temples and the sightseeing  staff is really good specially Fatima from reservations. Room is really good

Review 43:The personnel is such poorly trained that instead of being helpful they make just a big mess of everything. When we arrived at the reception they asked us to pay immediately ! This is incredible . Next, since I was paying with my card , they give me a POS to put my PIN and confirm payment but the POS was not showing the ammount of money to be paid - how would anybody accept to authorise a payment without seing the amount ?! Pay attention not to get hungry before 7 am and between 4 and 6 pm ; you have no possibility to get something to eat . Even if the reception was informing us at arrival that the pool bar is opened until 5 pm , actualy they were taking the last order 15 min. before 4 pm ... Oh, and the WiFi is a joke !!!! it's so week that no one can use it properly ; only in the lobby at the reception the signal is good enoungh. Anyway , it was a big disappointament , it definitly worths not the money , this hotel is a low quality 3 starts resort which is lucky enought to be on a beautiful island on the Nile.

Review 44:The place , the Nile , the garden .

Review 45:Touts, always feeling like we had to tip, activities not held due to few tourists.

Review 46:People, tours, pools all exceptional. The gardens were beautiful too.

Review 47:For the first time I really found a spot on earth to really relax. Nature is all around you from birds to bees & view is spectacular. No wonder the Pharos were the founders of Astronomy as you can actually feel the rotation between the sun & moon. Staff, Food & Rooms were all great.

Review 48:There is nothing we could complain about.

Review 49:We enjoyed the comfortable rooms installed in the heart of the park and the easy access to the banks of the Nile where we saw many interesting birds. Easy access to the archaeological sites of the West Bank.

Review 50:We have stayed at some of the worlds best hotels and Jolie Ville is up there with them. Everything from massage and facials to tennis coaching and 5 Star dining. The staff are amazingly helpful, but not overbearing, the food is fresh, well presented and eclectic. The gardens are beautiful and many rooms overlook the Nile, with passing Fellucas and lovely wildlife. We could not recommend this hotel more highly.

Review 51:Hard to choose one thing when everything is so good. The fact that the staff remembered me and the family from years ago was impressive. The staff make a huge effort to make your stay perfect and they achieve it on all levels.

Review 52:I booked this for my parents for their 60th birthdays, based on the great reviews and that it was number 2 on Trip Advisor. The rooms were filthy, to the point my parents feet were black after walking on the floors. Asked staff repeatedly if they could clean the room, they didn't. Room decor was very dated, dirt around the shower, asked for double bed as my dad sufferers terribly with a bad back, it was 2 hard single beds pushed together. Very disappointed

Review 53:We loved the gardens and the freedom to wander round the island with the wonderful views of the Nile and the Valley of Kings in the distance. Breakfast on the banks of the Nile was a real treat.

Review 54:Thers is no evening party.... food option....

Review 55:Its an amazing relaxing Island.. you need 2 days for sight seeing and then try to enjoy more on the island as it worst stay....

Review 56:All was fine. Other than a grumpy groundskeeper, the staff were courteous and efficient.

Review 57:I saw others' reviews of the Infinity Pool and decided that I'd book it at a special low price. It was worth it. Taxis are cheap, and an afternoon/evening free shuttle bus meant we could go in to Luxor easily enough. Nice enough staff though they yelled at my kid for walking on the grass. Good food, wonderful views of the Nile.

Review 58:Can't find any.may be would like the airport shuttle for free although it costs only 3 quid per person. Truly nothing

Review 59:I would never recommend a hotel like I would do for maritim luxor. Extremely professional very kind staff. Just ask anyone of them for anything and you'll find them seeking perfection with a nice smile! Themail view of the west bank of the nile and the mountains behind is priceless. Easiest check in and check out. They offer a very convenient low fees shuttle bus to the airport and unpaid frequenct shuttle to city centre. The 4:45 pm mozart by the sunset by the nile is a real serenity. Infinity pool with the nile bit it's cold a little bbit, I hope they would warm it a little bit. No need to mention the spectacular food specially the bakery as maritim used to be as usual. Thomas Cook office in the lobby for tour guided visits to temples and valley of the kingsize is a must do..the hot air balloon was a life time experience as well with their booth in the lobby. The plants in the hotel is another story to tell.let it be a surprise.I always did my morning runs around the hotel which is almost an island in the nile. It might seem I'm working with their marketing team now haha but it is the least I would write for that hotel, they made my visit to luxor unforgettable Thank you

Review 60:Very quiet but understandable given the situation in Egypt. Bed was quite hard and the pillows also.

Review 61:Location was out of the main town and peaceful with good views. Free wifi, albeit a bit on the slow side. Food was good, nothing special but still nice. Rooms were clean and room service was good. Set rates for taxis to tourist locations so you don't get ripped off

Review 62:We spent here a weekend in January, and were cold in our room. AC didn't work as heater, which would have been nice for the cold evenings.

Review 63:Great view from the hotel on the Nile. You can step from the swimming pool into a feluka boat. Nice sunset seating area with music. Very friendly staff. Excellent massage at the spa.

Review 64:Contrary to other hotel, even though I request hotel to provide dental kit & shaving kit, hotel didnot provide any kit for free.

Review 65:fast Golf car service

Review 66:No much varieties in food buffet every day Villas are so far from loopy Pools heating in infinity pool was not working Key cards and wifi is hanging but staff is solving this repeated problem rabidly

Review 67:Room,pools,staff highly professional and pleasant Food was good

Review 68:All was to Swiss Standards - excellent place !!!! No negatives. You need 10 days to truely chill !

Review 69:This place is the best in Luxor. Having checked out of the ''other'' 9 rated places, we found the best place in the Jolie Ville on Kings Island. It's closer to the sites, and quite and first class. No hassles. Excellent food that you WILL NOT find in Luxor. Great Pool. Truely for Luxor, I give it a 10. No place is finer.

Review 70:Everything , The location on a beautiful Island on the Nile,Spacious super deluxe room with wonderful front line views of the Nile, All the employees were so helpful and courteous and incredible breakfast and buffet in the evening Very good Italian restuarant ,Beautiful birds and vegetation

Review 71:I did not like the fact I had to go home.

Review 72:I liked the fact that although I stayed in the hotel on my own, everyone was friendly, extremely helpful and accommodating such a fab hotel I really felt at home I will be returning to Jolie Ville soon highly recommended

Review 73:Wifi reception in the room was poor and internet connection very slow.

Review 74:Great place to relax We can recommend the food at the italian restaurant on the island. Nice staff and good facilities

Review 75:Electricity was not stable. I experienced 3~4 times black out every day. But it was recovered in few minutes.

Review 76:Testy room service menu with good price, I have ordered Egyptian menu 2 times and all was great. Nile view at Italian restaurant was also great.

Review 77:The wifi did not work during my stay despite many attempts of the staff to fix it. The lock on my door did not work and eventually they had to replace the lock after six keys failed to work. The power was not reliable and would fail at night. The room was not 5-star quality.

Review 104:Everything is perfect.particular the infinity pool.

Review 105:The wi-fi is super slow.

Review 106:Everything else is great. The quality of the buffet dinner is poor and is not even worth the 99 EGP.

Review 107:AC placement

Review 108:Staff, garden

Review 109:Slowly wi-fi

Review 110:Delicious food, service and staff are excellent. Beautiful garden and view on the Nile!
