Reviews for Nova Roma
Review 1:No atmosphere, not sure if restaurant or bar was open or not as there was no sign of life. Quite a few adequate bars/restaurants close by
Review 2:Short walk to roman ruins and restaurants. Parking (Paid) adequate once we found it! and necessary in the centre.
Review 3:Excellent location, easy walking distance to main Roman sites and historic downtown. Off street private covered garage with gate next to hotel. Decent breakfast. Clean rooms with fridge and good wifi.
Review 4:Could be a little difficult to find by car if you don't have GPS.
Review 5:Location was nice and handy to visit the Roman sites in town. Good secure parking ( At cost ) Nice clean well equipped room. Good breakfast. Close to good selection of restaurants and bars.
Review 6:Poor breakfast, and restaurant not open for dinner - feel we should have been advised as such prior to our arrival. That said, as a result, we did discover some wonderful local Tapas bars.
Review 7:We stayed in two twin rooms with our grandchildren and, as such, the close proximity to the Roman ruins and the quaint road train that took us around the town was a bonus. The lock up, private parking was good.
Review 8:Could smell the cooking from the kitchen through the hotel. Like extractor fan in kitchen was not working and a cooking oil smell throuout.
Review 9:Central location
Review 10:Only complaint would be the poor internet.
Review 11:Modest hotel perfectly situated close to roman ruins, shops and some good eateries. Our purpose for being in Merida was visiting the ruins and we couldn't have asked for more than this location. Room plain but quiet and clean. Breakfast plentiful - no hot selection - and cheap at 6 euros. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 17:The location gives excellent access to the towns superb Roman ruins. I've been lucky to visit Naples, Rome, Florence, Sienna and several other major towns in Italy but there is little to top Merida.
Review 18:Tricky to find, narrow street. Park outside hotel then reverse back down one way strew for 10m to garage.
Review 19:Brilliant location for exploring Roman ruins etc. lots of nearby attractions, food, bars .... Garage good. Good breakfast.
Review 20:Air conditioning did not work in one of our rooms. Merida in July was 37 degrees. We were told this was quite cool for the time.
Review 21:Solid three star right in the heart of Merida with English speaking reception staff. Brilliant location for Roman sites and restaurants but on a quiet street. Great parking (with charge) which was imperative for us in a big Volvo with a roof box full of stuff.
Review 22:Difficult communication (Spanish speaking staff only), The service during the (otherwise complete) breakfast was always a bit behind.

Review 68:Breakfast was late when they had a large party staying. not enough staff to cope with the extra numbers. We had to knock on kitchen door for more cutlery and the choice of food was not as good as the previous day.
Review 69:Location, location, location
Review 70:Garage parking expensive relative to the roo cost. Breakfast very poor, only packeted croissants etc, long life orange, had to warm cup of water in microwave to make tea. Overall not an acceptable breakfast.
Review 71:Close to the town center for tourists
Review 72:We stayed at the end of November and the restaurant was closed apart from breakfast time (not good value) and the café did not serve food or snacks. The staff were singularly unhelpful with no understanding of even basic English. We do live in Spain and have a reasonable command of Spanish ourselves which was fortunate for us, anyone else without this would struggle. This hotel deserves only Hostal status in Spain. We asked to speak to the manager but this was impossible and the receptionist refused to speak to him by telephone.
Review 73:Easy to find using the sat-nav and good location for the sights.
Review 74:Breakfast and parking were extra and were a bit expensive but that istypical of most Spanish hotels.
