Reviews for Hotel Serrano
Review 1:Room was small, bed was little bit too small, and you could hear the neighbours from time to time, but that is OK for the price/weekend combo. Unfortunately little daylight in this kind of architecture.
Review 2:Clerk was very helpful, in spite of small language difficulties. Room&bathroom are clean, modern, and very well organized,
Review 3:No English spoken by some of the staff Tried to contact the reception over the phone, it took 30 minutes for the call to be answered., I found it appalling and disorganised
Review 4:there was not remote control for the air conditionaning so we had to get up and back to bed everytime I wanted to change the temperature
Review 5:clean, and location super, excelente value for money
Review 6:Not much, I would have liked a fridge and safe in the room with perhaps a kettle. A little bit of noise from our neighbour one night but I think he was shouting over the phone.
Review 7:Friendly staff, good clean room with excellent wifi and cable TV, great bathroom. Located a short walk from the train station and not too far from the historical sights of Córdoba and restaurants/ bars. All in all, a very good hotel for the price.
Review 8:Staff were friendly, helpful and always there with a smile. Recommended decently priced place to eat nearby & I hit lucky on the night I was there - free flamenco concerts around the city all night with one 5 mins walk from the hotel.
Review 9:The set up of the breakfast room, having to go between other people's tables to get crockery and cutlery. Coffee running out and not replaced. Usual cheap orange juice
Review 10:The position in shopping area short walk to station and old town
Review 11:We were told that we could park our car in the local municipal car park at no cost. We gave the parking ticket to the Lady on reception who stamped it with the Hotel stamp and to,d to show this to the man in the car park. When we left 28 hours later the man said he could not accept this as "The Hotel never reimburses them". We were stuck with a parking bill of just under €20.00. This left a bad taste in our mouths as everything else was more than satisfactory.
Review 12:The receptionist allowed the four of us to occupy a table in the dining area albeit closed so we could play some cards.
Review 13:A middle-aged female receptionist, afternoon duty on November 22, provided no service at all. She was unable to understand the guest nor tried to communicate in English.
Review 14:One of the receptionists, Jesus, tried his best to help me. He is fluent in English. Another young lady who was on duty in the morning of November 24 was very helpful too.
Review 15:I realize this is a pretty serious accusation but I stayed here Saturday night and woke up with about 50+ bug bites all over my body. I am traveling for business and have reacted terribly to these bites because I am allergic. They are on my face, neck, arms, legs, pretty much covering my body. Now, I am concerned I am going to bring these bugs home when I eventually return to my house. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. This has seriously tainted my first trip to Spain.
Review 16:Noise. We can hear almost everything from one bedroom to the other even in the floor above or below us.
Review 17:Location, breakfast and cleanness.
Review 18:Within walking distance from the bus station
Review 19:Location and staff at reception
Review 20:Comfortable Room 10-12 mins walk to the bus station.
Review 21:Breakfast was very ordinary. Very noisy between rooms and from external.
Review 22:Great location. Clean & tidy.
Review 23:Rooms is very small also the bed
Review 24:Internet weak.
Review 25:Clean, good location
Review 26:Close center location
Review 27:Noisy pipes. Lack of good wifi.
Review 28:Convenient to both bus and train. 15 minute walk to city center. Lots of restaurants nearby.
Review 29:Internet connection was not too strong, some of the time.
Review 30:Very convenient location. Staff really helpful.
Review 31:only I can not understand that wifi is not free. we have to pay 1euro for 1PC per a day.
Review 32:almost everything! good staffs and clean room.
Review 33:One of thw elevators seems to have a problem.
Review 34:I liked e room. It was pretty neat and comfortable.
Review 35:No hay sufeciente enchufe y el islamento acústico era mal
Review 36:Street noisy
Review 37:Comforable
Review 38:The noise from the street could be heard very well despite having the windows closed
Review 39:Location, staff (especially the woman at the reception desk)
Review 40:Receptionisr,JESUS is helpful.
Review 41:Wifi signal was very poor, the tv was tiny and the room was very small.
Review 42:Powerful shower and warm room.
Review 43:A little far away from attractions ; a good 20 minute walk
Review 44:Decent place
Review 45:can be more clean, for 2 stars hotel little expensive
Review 46:very good location
Review 47:Aircon wasnt turned on and when we asked it was just a fan not aircon.
Review 48:Staff very helpful
Review 49:Great 2-star hotel. Definitely recommend it.
Review 50:comfortable beds good shower nice breakfast good location - close to the sites and the train station
Review 51:Location and value for money
Review 52:no free wifi no hairdryer old decoration
Review 53:staff location air conditioner
Review 54:Ambiance is good.
Review 55:Many narrow one way streets when arriving by car --- hope you have a good GPS.
Review 56:Short walk to train station. Quiet neighborhood. Great breakfast selections.
Review 57:bathroom/shower was minimal but okay, only soap provided. Reception area clerk recommended a cafe/bar for dinner that turned out to be an expensive restaurant, with our first experience in Spain of food we didn't like at all and unfriendly staff, though I can't really fault the hotel for that.
Review 58:location was good for sightseeing and not too noisy. a wonderful bakery was nearby for breakfast. Lobby was staffed consistently.
Review 59:The room is tiny and the walls are thin.
Review 60:Great price/value and within 10 minutes walking distance to the historic parts of the city that interested me.
Review 61:The bathroom could use an update, especially the shower head. The stream from the showerhead was not very effective and we were unable to change the stream intensity.
Review 62:The location was good, right in between the train station and the main tourist part of the city. The rooms were nicely decorated and had good storage options.
Review 63:Even though they charge for the wifi, the reception is very poor in the rooms and only one device can be connected.
Review 64:Good location, easy to get to and close to the historic centre.
Review 65:The staff didn't speak English but they were trying to help. The rooms are not sound proofed so it was noisy overnight (there is a bar close to the hotel). Don't try to order anything from the menus that are available in the rooms (very expensive in comparison to the restaurants nearby the hotel and it takes long to receive the order).
Review 66:Friendly staff. Location was OK but not the best one (15 min walking to the city center). Very clean room. Affordable price. Good breakfast for the money. It was convenient for us that we could leave the stroller in the luggage room.
Review 67:Noisy, rooms are not sound proofed. Most of the staff didn't speak English although foreigners seemed to be in greater number using the hotel than locals. Parking only available at a public place nearby and you need to make a reservation with your car number plate before you arrive. Not recommended for long stays.
Review 68:Clean. Can reach easily the motorway, without getting into the narrow streets of the old center.
Review 69:My main preoccupation was that there was ONLY ONE OUTLET (plug) in the room - and it is in the bathroom. I went to see another room and their only plug, again in the bathroom, was above the toilet. Although there is a desk, supposedly to let you get on with work, there is no outlet underneath that either, so if you wanted to charge your phone or use a laptop, you had to go downstairs and ask for an extension cable or charge it in the bathroom. This is VERY dangerous - a tripping hazard, and you run the risk of an electric shock due to the location of the plug in the bathroom with the shower. The WiFi is an unsecured network, so you run the risk of others stealing your personal details. I did not feel comfortable using it. Room did not have a bath, and I believe they tried to pass off my shower as a bath (you can see this in one of the pictures) but it was barely big enough to bathe a one year old child. The walls are like paper and you can most definitely hear the other guests having conversations and using the shower.
Review 70:Location was good, next to the railway and bus station, as advertised. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. 97% of the staff were polite and helpful, perhaps the most redeeming aspect of the hotel. Would not have stayed the whole 3 days if it wasn't for the gentleman receptionist going out of his way for me.
Review 71:The safe was for additional fee 1,5 EURO a day. The hotel blocked my credit card nevetheless I informed about cash payment.
Review 72:The hotel location is in walking distance from Cordoba Railway Station, Bus Station & City Center (Avenida Gran Capitan, 20 min to Mescita - Cathedral) The room was comfortable & quiet with basic amentities. The breakfast was basic (cheese, ham, frouts, sweets). The friendly staff.
Review 73:It's not cozy at all, later we found nicer and cheaper places in the center, close to the cathedral...
Review 74:It's both close to the bus&railway station, but also close to the center.
Review 75:Small room. Breakfast was quite basic. Was a good 25-20 minute walk to the Mezquita and Jewish quarter.
Review 76:Only stayed one night and was convenient to the bus and train stations. Staff was helpful. OK internet access. No English channels on TV.
Review 77:The breakfast was adequate, but we had had much better in other hotelsof the same class in Spain.
Review 78:Hotel was in walking distance to train station as well as all theattractions downtown and in the old city. Many bars and cafes.
Review 79:The room is very small. The window to the courtyard, where the morningsomething very rattled. The historic center far away, 25 minutes byfoot. The hotel is not small, but it does not have its parking lot. Asafe is available for a fee.
Review 80:The hotel is of average quality. More suitable for active travelers whocome back only to sleep.
Review 81:The location is brilliant with easy access to the beautiful sites in Cordoba. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was well worth the money. Would definitely go back .
Review 82:Quite small room and shower but for that price it is okay
Review 83:This hotel has a good trade-off between price and what it offers you. You do not have to wait for a luxory hotel, since the prince it is not, but anyway if you need just a room where to spend the night and have a good shower and sleep peacefully, you have to consider it. It is not far from city centre and it is also near to car parking and bus stops. I reccomend it.
Review 84:No bacon or scrambled egg for breakfast. Better map to show location. One can drive for long periods without finding the hotel. Walls are a bit thin as you can hear people talking in the next room when you want to sleep. The reason of my visit was to locate The residual energies of a Christian Church in the Mesquito going back to approx 50 AD. I also found similar in Granada. This I found together with an ancient man made trackway. These can be found by Dowsing, but regretably is lost on most Spanish people with their culture.
Review 85:Close to shops and amenities. Comfortable bed and room
Review 86:wifi was a bit iffy at times. breakfast was fairly limited.
Review 87:10 minute walk to main plaza/shops, etc and another 5 to cathedral. very good value hotel with lots of restaurants nearby.
Review 88:No roller blinds on windows facing the tiny courtyard, with a balcony that connects all these windows. entrance in front of an restaurant, many strangers around constantly. Close to the hotel a new building is being errected or renovated, it is empty, no windows. Far from the tourist attractions.
Review 89:free internet station in the hall, where the reception is not very far from the railway station
Review 90:Small bedroom and very small bathroom with only a half bath.
Review 91:Good location between train station and city centre, close to lots of bars and restaurants. Clean cosy room.
Review 92:It was about 20 min walk to the Mezquita. It wasnt a bad walk, but we had a tendency of getting lost.
Review 93:It was close to the train station so we didn't have to take a taxi. The room was clean and modern. There was internet access in the rooms too. The front desk was great at giving us directions.
Review 94:The view from the window was disappointing, being into a lightwell, which made it difficult to gauge the weather. The bathroom of the next room was adjacent to our bedroom. We could hear the neighbours in the bath early in the morning, and the shower at night.
Review 95:Situation excellent: near the railway/bus station and close to the tourist sites. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The hot water was hot. Breakfast was good.
Review 96:The only thing I didn't like was there were not much electrical outlets .. I remember there was only one in the bathroom .. so I couldn't charge my camera batteries for the next day.
Review 97:The staffs were kind and the hotel room was nice..It was small but cozy and had clean towels and bathroom.. TV worked great and the heater made me warm..I could relax a lot,.. Also the hotel was near El Corte Ingles, which I could buy foods cheaply and eat at the hotel room. Great location too! I think this hotel is the best hotel I could find in this price range.
Review 98:Despite being mid-winter room far too hot - air conditioninig system had been turned off. No mosquito problem, however, so window could be left wide open at night.
Review 99:Small but clean and modern room. Good buffet breakfast. Excellent location for station and centre.
Review 100:The room is too small. There's no place to put luggage. We could hear the next room in the bath early in the morning, and the shower at night.
Review 101:Poor wifi, No electronic port on the wall, room smells stinky. Elevator is too narrow.
Review 102:None.
Review 103:Very small room.
Review 104:Localization.
Review 105:12pm check out enforcement (do they know how late Spaniards go out after a wedding? :) )
Review 106:Efficient, quick check-in. Great shower.
Review 107:One member of reception was not very helpful
Review 108:Most of the staff were pleasant and helpful The location was good, near to the station Nice breakfast
Review 109:cleanliness, simple but better than adequate furniture/facilities in room
Review 110:Nice staff, restaurants around the corner and Mezquita/shopping avenue within walking distance
Review 111:Helpful staff, clean rooms, modern rooms, good breakfast, good location, good value.
Review 112:too noise from bathroom.
Review 113:good loaction
Review 114:Only thing was that the WIFI in the room didn't work.
Review 115:Friendly staff very helpful.
Review 116:Good location, near the railway station and lots of shops and restaurants around.
