Reviews for Hotel San Lorenzo

Review 1:Got allocated ine of the few rooms without a bath. Had to push to be moved. Was aiming to treat myself after walking the Camino. Could have done without the hassle.

Review 2:Easy walk into centre of santiago

Review 3:No bad experiences.

Review 4:The lady who ran the hotel was warm, efficient and knowledgeable. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The hotel is close to the Cathedral but quiet.

Review 5:Nothing, everything as expected

Review 6:Staff was very helpful. Property close to cathedral and good restaurants. Hotel is well maintained, confortable room. Parking in close by streets but not an issue. Address a little difficult in the GPS.

Review 7:I booked this hotel for my recovery from a 300km walk (Camino) and was led to believe that the room I booked had a bath which I was rely looking forward to, to relax my sore muscles and joints. My room had no bath and I was told that the hotel was fully booked and that there was no other option I encouraged my friend to book, she did not request a bath either but had a room with a bath. She booked after I did. The hotel should clearly advertise that the baths are not guaranteed. I would have looked elsewhere

Review 8:No parking facilities. One has to park in the surrounding areas which are green and blue parking zones.

Review 9:Modern hotel within walking distance to the cathedral and centre. The room somewhat small but with all the essentials. The hotel is in a beautiful area with lots of gardens and parks.

Review 10:the carpet is threadbare, the lounge area stuffy and uncomfortable, staff not very friendly. Not so close to city center, but there's not helping that! Surprisingly, a bit of stained glass decor in the entryway was in very poor taste, offensively sexist.

Review 11:I liked the cleanliness, the fact that there's a bathtub in a single room! And the spaciousness of my room.

Review 12:Perfectly clean but a little dated in decor but was ideal for the money and what we needed

Review 13:Amazing location to the old quarter, 5 min walk! Nice quiet street, lovely cafe at the end of the street, great value

Review 14:The blind was broken in the bedroom, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke when we first walked in and staff weren't the most friendly. I asked to book a taxi the night before (we had a flight the next morning) but the receptionist insisted we did it in the morning. Would not recommend.

Review 15:- Could be a little more generous with the amount of shower gel/ shampoo provided.

Review 16:- Polite and helpful staff. - Was able to check in ahead of time. - <10min walk from centre (and the university campus). - Inexpensive. - Clean rooms.

Review 17:toilet needs plunger for those embarrassing moments when you block the toilet and are too embarrassed to ask staff; however im told the toilet drains clearly cannot handle today's human consumption

Review 18:free wifi, comfy bed, nice shower & good value for money and only 10mins walk from the park and city centre

Review 19:wi-fi wasnt' always good....

Review 20:Perfect. Very close to the Cathedral, easy to find. Perfecly clesn, large and cosy room, exellent bathroom, English-speaking personnel, everybody so nice and welcoming. Certainly would stay there again!

Review 21:first 2 mornings breakfast was in bar which was ok untill next 2 mornings was directed to bigger choice in dinning room which had previously been unavailable due to staff shortage so then felt i had been shortchanged the first 2 days!

Review 22:reception staff helpfull & good location, quiet

Review 23:Nothing in particular

Review 24:If you are in Santiago for a couple of days, Hotel San Lorenzo is a very good option. The location is really good, about 10 minutes walking from the Old City.

Review 25:There is no proper aircirculation at the bathrooom but minor point.

Review 26:Location close to the city center. Cheap and easy to park the car. Simple but fine breakfast

Review 27:Our room was fairly average, pillows smelt of stale cigarette smoke & room didn't have much natural light.

Review 28:Good location, we were able to walk in to the old town. Staff at front desk were friendly & helpful.

Review 29:I had a room not facing the street. It was as in the countryside - in the morning complitely silence, only dogs are barking, roosters crowing, hens cackling and all these 10 minutes walking from cathedral! Beautiful!

Review 30:Everything was lovely a great place and only 10/15 mins walk to Cathedral, perfectly placed if you are walking Camino to Finesterre its directly up the road

Review 31:Room was too dark (small window), but ok for one or two nights stay

Review 32:Room was nice and clean, excellent and helpful staff, decent breakfast, good value, quiet location not far away from the city centre

Review 33:There is nothing to say.

Review 34:From the moment I arrived I felt that I had become part of a family offering home comforts combined with a family atmosphere of friendship.

Review 35:Street Parking is abit complicated with pay machines. But is cheap 2€ a day but had to feed the meter twice a day

Review 36:Clean Great value Location, although a 10-15min walk to town its through the main park which is nice. Great Wifi

Review 37:-located a ways away from the Cathedral

Review 38:+decent price for room +very helpful staff (let us store our bags in the hotel while we stayed a couple hours in Santiago after check-out time) +let us check in a little early +pleasant supper served in the hotel +buffet breakfast was quite good +computer for guests to use

Review 39:Where to start with this place,I finished the camino portugese from valenca and decided to get myself a nice hotel with a bath for two nights at the end. When I arrived after my long trek I was greeted by a dark gloomy depressing unfriendly underground reception area with a receptionist to match. She couldnt find my booking for ages ,I went to my room to discover there was no bath and that they were advertising the hotel using pictures which were nothing like the reality. The lift was very slow and didnt work some times, the automatic doors broke and trapped everyone inside, there was drilling and hammering on my first day,This gets worse ,now I actually am usually very fair with reviews but this place was worse than the alberge hostels I used on the camino for 6 euro. After my first night I woke up with bites all over my legs,I thought it was mosquitos ,but I soon realised it was bedbugs! My last evening I was a bit lazy after the night before so I decided to eat in the resteraunt for 14 euro 3 courses,I woke up shaking violently in the middle of the night, whatever I had eaten did not agree with me ,I woke up on the morning of my return journey weaker than I had arrived, the receptionist hardly looked at me as I was leaving almost half expecting me to complain as if she know she was working in a bad hotel.I was nautious and I had to take two buses and two planes back home,Ive never ever ever stayed in worse and Ive travelled alot. This two night stay was the toughest part of my camino.
