Reviews for Iberotel Luxor
Review 1:Old run- down 4 star? Staff don't care. Air-Con did not work. WiFi is free for first two hours and then they charged $25/day ?????? Spiders in the room & I got several bites. Changed hotels directly. You can get a very very good 5 star room in Luxor for $4 more per night with free WiFi. Why would you stay at an Iberotel?
Review 2:Location is Okay. Breakfast quite good.
Review 3:Some people at reception woke u up in the night to control you. Not suitable for friends group but ok for couples and family
Review 4:Nice swimming pool , Nice team at réception , at restaurant and also the cleaning team. Breakfast is good. Near the center and all activities
Review 5:They dint give complimentary water. They will allow Limited amount of internet accessibility via WIFI. If you finish it they will charge 10 Euro for 150 mb.
Review 6:Location Is grate. Staff behave very professionally. Large variety of breakfast. Over all we like our staying in this hotel.
Review 7:only bad was getting up at 3:45 am to take the baloon ride
Review 8:the service was excellent at the resturant and we felt safe with all the people we encountered at the hotel, including our guides
Review 9:As soon as you step out of your hotel, you are constantly accosted by beggars, grifters and scam artists. They will not take "NO" for an answer, will follow you for miles, go into the tombs with you, and want payoffs, bribes etc. Substantially detracts from the experience
Review 10:Pool is excellent
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:Staff was very nice and helpul.. we arrived as very big group early and they managed to arrange early check in for everyone Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely come back
Review 13:I was chatged LE20 (cash) at reception for making a call to a local cell number. The coffee at the hotel was awful! Nescafe instant in various guises. I gave up drinking coffee for the duration.
Review 14:My wife and I checked into Iberotel for a short break after 10 days of Tombs and Temples
Review 15:The hotel is great, and if you like to drink things with alcohol, you will only find on this kind of hotel on Egypt. The pool is amazing and the staff in the bar is really nice. Since I was not traveling with soap, I really enjoyed they offered "Dove" in the bathroom.
Review 16:Ask for room facing courtyard or upgrade to river view as street view was a bit noisy. Carpets are in dire need of replacement, but expected for the price of room.
Review 17:Very helpful and friendly bar and pool staff. Pool on Nile fabulous.Breakfast has decent selection of hot and cold foods.
Review 18:The air conditioning in my room didn't work properly but was a one night stay only!
Review 19:I have stayed at this hotel on a few occasions- the staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable! I like the location as it offers easy access within walking distance to anywhere in Luxor's east bank!
Review 20:Guests get a certain amount of wifi for free, however, it does not work in all the rooms. I asked a staff member to help me get a ride to the train station and they seemed reluctant to do so and even wanted me to pay a higher price than it should have been, I felt like the staff member was trying to take advantage of me, which already happens enough in Luxor.
Review 21:location was good the hotel is close to Luxor Temple. The breakfast was good and the guests have a variety of choices to choose from. The room was clean and comfortable. Most of the staff was kind and helpful.
Review 22:Well some of the staff seemed a little snobby, although that could be in line with some (most) of their guests ;) Me being a little (lot) more down to earth lol :) The kitchen staff were awesome though :) xxx
Review 23:A nice hotel in quite a reasonable location.
Review 24:The staff at the front desk were rather weak, I would recommend that the front desk has small change for their guests, this is a small thing but would certainly go a long way when helping their guests. If they continue to not have small change (something that would certainly help to boost the local economy) then there is a bank around the corner. I would also recommend that they have maps on hand and ready for their guests. Overall the service at the front desk was rather weak, the staff member obviously gets kick backs for recommending guides, the only problem is that the recommended guides are useless.
Review 25:The rooms were clean and provided a wonderful view of the west bank of the Nile. The hotel is within walking distance of the town but a short carriage ride is also feasible. The breakfast was bountiful with great selection, the staff at breakfast were superb.
Review 26:No free wifi. They wanted us to pay the whole amount (5 nights!) at check in, before we even see the room. Breakfast was good but exactly the same every day.
Review 27:Clean and comfortable room.
Review 28:We stayed here overnight. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Booked some tours through them, very reasonable. Rooms are a little outdated but the view overlooking the Nile is very nice.
Review 29:Young staff (trainee) not very helpful/friendly, including reception and restaurant.
Review 30:Location, very close to Luxor temple. Senior staff very friendly, especially in restaurant.
Review 31:Lack of free wi fi in the room. Not a huge problem but would have been convenient.
Review 32:The view across the Nile from the balcony attached to our room. The adequate breakfast hours. The security at the hotel entrance.
Review 33:What I didn't like that my holiday was finished and I have to leave that beautiful hotel and the charming view !!
Review 34:I did not expect that Iberotel will be that good, it was excellent, the best location in the city, it is almost inside the nile, and we see the nile from our bed, book a room on the nile view high floor. It is nearby everything in the city. Service is excellent and everyone there is helpful and very kind. The open buffet for the breakfast was so good and the food is really nice. I would definitely go for Iberotel everytime I go to Luxor.
Review 35:facilities in the room are a little bit old.
Review 36:very good location on the cournish of nile, five minutes less to the Luxor Temple as well as the city center. clean room and good staff
Review 37:I was checked into a room with faulty Aircond. I had to approach the reception 5times and made a scene before they finally changed the room. But the duty manager did apologise and try to make amends which was good. What I hate is this - the reception guy was trying to flirt with me and asking personal questions. So unprofessional. Upon checking out this same guy kept my change instead of handing over. He said "its 561 pounds so 600". I understand the policy of tipping but I didn't like the fact that he took it upon himself. I replied that I will put the tips myself in the general tipbox but he still didn't hand it over saying he will put it in for me. My advise is insist on your change and give it to those that really deserves it. This guy was sleazy, greedy and unprofessional. The rest of reception staff especially the lady - nice. Limited wifi but for me it was enough for the 2 day stay.
Review 38:The rooms are comfortable enough Value for money The duty managers do try their best Location is not too far from downtown
Review 39:Couldn't receive free wifi in room, only in corridor, parking only on street.
Review 40:Excellent staff, good breakfast, room had great view of the Nile (well worth the extra), parking available (we had a hire car), large room. Easy walk or caleche ride to Luxor temple, souks, shops, restaurants.
Review 41:150Mb free Wi Fi regardless of the duration of your stay. Hardly adequate in this day and age. Found mould in the fridge on arrival. Would have to be the most expensive beer in town. (1/3 the price in the two other hotels I stayed at in Luxor)
Review 42:Room price represents reasonable value for money considering the facilities available. Barman Mohammed was by far the best member of staff I came across but all were helpful and attentive.
Review 43:Staff at reception desk were not so friendly. Internet access only available 1 hour after check-in??? Watch it: balcony doesn't necessarily mean that you have an outside view! It could be inside :(
Review 44:Top location Beautiful garden
Review 45:The bar staff was rude; they don't sell wine by the glass! Very odd.
Review 46:Great place to stay. The front desk staff is great, and the breakfast buffet was excellent.
Review 47:Check in took more than half an hour and there was no queue. Lady in the morning shift was unfriendly, unhelpful, inflexible and with low problem-solve capacity.
Review 48:the facilities are great, nice outside area, comfortable bed. Good value for money.
Review 49:Limited WiFi: - Only available in rooms - 150 MBytes per the whole stay duration !!! - The above conditions/limitations were not mentioned in their page on booking.com at booking time.
Review 50:- Cleanliness - Location - A mosque in the basement - Breakfast
Review 51:Hot airconditioning was not on they said it only start up on 15th January !!!!
Review 52:The welcome recietion and handling The type of breakfast/service Location Security
Review 53:Rooms were not ready even though we called ahead of time to confirm our arrival. Requested inter leading rooms (was not done). Advertise free WIFi only to be told first 150mb is free and thereafter you have to pay. Poor room service. Hotel is old and not well looked after
Review 54:Breakfast was good and staff in the breakfast area were efficient.
Review 55:That my friend wasn't allowed to come for a visit to my room, because the staff was afraid he would stay for the night, and that there's no wi-fi in rooms in a 4-star hotel, but that's unfortunately a norm in Egypt. Also, the pool is heated, but not overnight, so it takes more than a half a day before it heats up the next day and you can use it.
Review 56:The location, the pool, breakfast, staff, luggage storage facility
Review 57:Lobby repairs going on disturbed otherwise ok ambiance. Hotel dining options poor in Luxor where the restaurant selection is lacking at best of times. Too bad not enough customers at peak season to keep all restaurants open.
Review 58:Room price unbelievably low, location great within walking distance to Luxor Temple.
Review 59:On this occasion, Christmas 2014, the lounge area was sealed off for renovation and there was a lot of dust and overwhelming paint fumes in the reception area! Recommend anyone booking in the near future checks this work has been completed.
Review 60:I've stayed at this hotel in the past and love everything about it, it has a great swimming pool situated on the River Nile itself, friendly staff and a good standard of food and rooms.
Review 61:staff, breakfast, room is too old, i can not believe that hotel is one of iberotel chain, totaly poor hotel, there was maintainence at the hotel with no notice
Review 62:Only location. center of the city with great view over nile
Review 63:First up, I cannot believe the extremely positive reviews on both Booking.com and tripadvisor! Second, the front desk staff were actually the worst I have experienced in years -- not trained, not helpful and unwilling to place a phone call when we were trying to locate the accurate address we needed to go to! Third, this hotel has definitely seen better days -- setting aside the construction in the lobby, the room we booked faced the nile (very nice view), however, the room was musty and while clean, had a TV that was from the 1990s (with a cathode ray tube!). The worst thing, however, was when we had to turn on the air conditioning -- instantly we piped in stale smoke smell that was impossible to be rid of (it turns out we were on a partially smoking floor. Finally, we arrived late at night and had to resort to room service which was, in a word, vile. "Spaghetti prima vera" that was smothered in tomato sauce and a sandwich that was inedible. In a word: although the location is quite good, until tourism picks up or the hotel is under new management I'd avoid -- there are many other very good and still of good value hotels in the area.
Review 64:The location was ideal, but that was about it, other than a very descent breakfast.
Review 65:The check in was very difficult as there was only one guy in the reception and he was a trainee with very poor english. The hotel lobby doesn't exist.. is under construction, which makes the hotel much less appealing. During the check out we've almost been ripped off. The personnel of the hotel insisted that as foreigners we didn't have the right to pay in EGP, egyptian currency.
Review 66:The pool is gorgeous. The view from breakfast is amazing.
Review 67:Female staff not so polite and friendly.
Review 68:Was extremely well situated for shopping, getting out and walking around, getting either carriage or taxi, wonderful views, handy to cruise. Restaurant staff were service+, went out of their way to assist. Beautiful reception to sit and chatn
Review 69:We had to wait for 5 hours to get wifi password. I asked them if they were having daily tour to west bank and they told me they have a guy to arrange tours but you need to pay the phone calls required. People of Luxor is very disturbing, keep your holiday as short as you can. 2 nights will be enough to visit all temples and museums and valley of kings and queens.
Review 70:Location was great which is very close to Luxor temple, museums and Karnak temple. Achraf in the bar was a very kind gentelman who has the best service in Luxor. Havind breakfast in Nile side in a very green garden was very nice. Italian restraunt is better with its staff and food compared the one in the hotel.
Review 71:Don't mind the lady sometimes at the front desk who may seem a little stressed. If you are pleasant to her and manage to make her smile, see it as a charitable act on your part.
Review 72:The hotel backs on to the Nile and from their beautiful garden, you can enjoy all your meals looking out onto its mesmerising waters. For this alone, the hotel is a real gem. The rooms may not be super modern, but the decor suites the ambiance. The hotel's staff could not have been more helpful and kind. We are not ones to normally spend so much time at a hotel when on holiday, but due to the shortage of dining options in Luxor the hotel would often offer some welcomed respite. The breakfast and dinner buffet spread were more then adequate for us. We also enjoyed just kicking back with a coffee while the swimming pool was popular with most guests,
Review 73:Price of egyptian beer "stella" can 45 le and Sprite can 25 le. That was expensive and heigher than accomodation rate.
Review 74:It's enough for me to meet the kind, smart abd smikey staff to recommend Ibrotel to everyone, specially when service is good and rate is excellent. Thank you ;)
Review 75:Hassle from the shopkeepers located immediately adjacent to the hotel and the caleche drivers.
Review 76:Very clean, comfortable hotel. Fantastic view of the Nile and West Bank from the Nile View rooms. Peaceful. Staff could not be more helpful and friendly.
Review 77:Checking in was a bit long and annoying but I think the staff member helping us was new, she kept calling other staff over for assistance. Wifi was free but you have to continuously sign on so don't lose the password. We also had a power outage two out of the 3 nights, (this means no AC) but the staff immediately tended to the problem. Unfortunately it took about 2 hours the first night (we just went to bed around 8pm since there was nothing to do) and maybe 30 minutes the following night. The current tourism state (for a couple of years now) in Egypt everywhere is very sad (obviously due to the civil unrest), so it`s not surprising that there is no money to improve hotel infrastructures or even a demand for improvement since there are no tourists!
Review 78:The rooms were very clean. Free wifi was available. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room (superior triple room) had a mini fridge to store food our tour guide bought for us to snack on during Ramadan. The pool on the Nile was beautiful and very refreshing after a morning of touring in the hot sun. Lovely landscaping at the back of the hotel. Could very easily spend an entire afternoon by the pool sun bathing and drinking cold Egyptian beer! I gave location a "good" but it wasn't very applicable to us since we had a guide that included transportation every day. The price for the rooms was remarkable, would definitely stay here again if ever in Luxor!
Review 79:Nothing at all.
Review 80:We loved everything about this hotel! Perfect stay, very clean and big room, with a perfect view to the Nile and Hatshepsut's temple. The breakfast was outstanding and also was the swimming pool area and bars. Fantastic staff, very friendly and dedicated. We totally recommend Iberotel and will be there again once we return to Egypt.
Review 81:Drinks a little pricey. You only get a lttle free internet then have to pay.
Review 82:Nice airy rooms, good aircon and lovely little balcony with a great view. Breakfast was excellant. Lifts fast.
Review 83:Rushing to leave.
Review 84:Good welcoming ,specilly in the restaurant.

Review 95:Perfect garden and pool area for relaxing after a tough day sightseeing.
Review 96:The staff, the nile view, location, swimming pool in the nile. I returned because I loved this hotel on my frist trip on 2010.
Review 97:Paid wifi
Review 98:It was a nice quiet hotel with excellent location
Review 99:Poor bathroom maintenance
Review 100:Breakfast
Review 101:No free wifi and staff are very lazy and un-responsive, especially the housekeeping.
Review 102:Location and overall hygienic surroundings.
Review 103:Have wifi, but did not work in our room
Review 104:Good location, short walk from train station
Review 105:friendly staff and great location
Review 106:No bar or much happening in the evening.
Review 107:A wonderful hotel with beautiful views over the Nile towards The Valley of the Kings
Review 108:Quite a lot of traffic noice from street just outside windows.
Review 109:Nice room, pleasant staff.
Review 110:the room was great very clean very tailored to comfort the guest
Review 111:quite old equipment in the room (номери вже трішки потерті)
Review 112:good value of money for Egypt (Хороше співвідношення ціна-якість, як для Єгипту)
Review 113:good price, good food also very helpful staff. really value of money! strongly recommend.
Review 114:Food cleanliness terrible
Review 115:Location only
Review 116:Overall stay was great. Room with Nile view - delicious breakfast and dinner - friendly, courteous staff - conveniently located.
Review 117:No parking
Review 118:Nice view
Review 119:Getting WiFi took two days, every time there was told something different. In the end it worked fine.
Review 120:Location, security, garden, good breakfast
Review 121:Shower and toilet facilities. Cleanliness could be improved.
Review 122:Location and cost/benefit. Breakfast.
Review 123:view friendliness and flexibility of the staff & management team
Review 124:No free wifi
Review 125:The staff. The facilties. The pool on the Nile. The security staff.
Review 126:Furniture, bathroom was dirty
Review 127:location, and staff kindness
Review 128:Nothing to say as the stay was perfect
Review 129:Everything
Review 130:Didn't care for the front desk staff. My spouse and I asked to change rooms (we were given two separate beds), and we were told we had to speak to the manager to get permission. We hadn't even unpacked! We were also told he wouldn't be around for 4 hours. As it turned out, he WAS around and the clerk's shift was over in 4 hours. Also, the AC didn't work well.
Review 131:The pool.
Review 132:No problems with the hotel itself. It's sad to see the lack of tourists and the subsequent effect on the local population. Be prepared to be harassed by tour operators and carriage drivers as soon as you leave the hotel. Because you may be the only tourists in Luxor
Review 133:Good hotel in great location facing the Nile River. Friendly staff. Great value for money.
Review 134:Breakfast was poor(No sausages, No baked beans, sometimes No fruit). Power cut everyday and 3 or 4 times a day. When that happened there was No light on corridor to the elevator for 1hour or so each time so that I had to use my lighter to go to elevator or go back to the room.
Review 135:Very good Nile view. Good location. Nice staff at the restaurant.
