Reviews for Postgaarden Bed & Breakfast

Review 1:The location is just in the city, a beautiful house with very clean and comfortable rooms, tv with interesting channels, delicious breakfast served by the politely and friendly staff. Perfect and 10 from 10 points.

Review 2:The bathroom..not really a bathroom, very uncomfortable bed, room uncleaned. More in general, it is a very basic place to sleep in, paid more than 150€ for one night

Review 3:The owner was very kind and friendly

Review 4:At checkout the hotel wanted to add a credit card fee of 3.45% - without mentioning this anywhere on booking.com, like some other Danish hotels do. Most other hotels where we stayed did not add a credit card fee and in my opinion a hotel that charges such a fee without information before booking breaches its contract with the customer. Describing the room facilities with "terrace, garden view" is plainly wrong. The room does not have its own terrace and the view is to the cafe area (and all guests of the cafe can look into the room). Many small examples of sloppy service that could be improved easily. Empty soap dispenser in the shower. Toilet paper hidden in a cupboard, none on the hook. Only one small and two big towels for two guests, no second small towel, no towel for the floor. Kettle and cups in the room, but the kettle was dirty, the Nescafe jar was empty and the tea was loose leaves without a strainer or filters.

Review 5:Excellent location in one of the more touristy streets, easy to reach from the train station. The city of Ribe is like a museum and it is charming to stay in such an old and historic building, but this also has its disadvantages like thin walls. Basic room, with some stylish elements like the four poster bed, a rather excentric painting and an old table, but also a cheap plastic chair as a bedside table. Guests of the cafe sit directly in front of the window, but the cafe closes at 18.00 and the courtyard is very quiet during the night. Wi-Fi in the room worked well, but was slow (about 2 to 5 Mbps). Breakfast was okay, with a nice plate with cheese and hams, but without juices, muesli or pastries.

Review 6:Lovely people, helpful and friendly Cosy room (with shared bathroom but we had it to ourselves) Good breakfast Right in the middle of town Wifi and heating worked well

Review 7:Shared electric kettle for coffee was filthy-- did not dare to use. Wine glasses in room had probably not been used for a long time. But had obviously been handled by previous guests and had greasy fingerprints all over them.

Review 8:Nice historical building with cozy rooms; right in the middle of it all.

Review 9:the owner and his staff could not have done more for us. They were out of this world helpful and the old inn in the centre of town makes a perfect base

Review 10:Wasn't good enough cleaned, especially the floor. We have a small a baby who literally cleaned the floor and where we could see all the dust.

Review 11:Nice room size Free wifi

Review 12:Staying in a building, built in the 1500s was great....a little piece of history in historic Ribe. Walking distance to everything you would want to see. Great little breakfast in the courtyard setting was a good way to start the day. Friendly, helpful staff.

Review 13:Room was starkly appointed. The couch in our room was in poor shape and was uncomfortable.

Review 14:Staff was friendly and attentive. It was our honeymoon and a complimentary bottle of wine was in the room. Wifi was fast.

Review 15:This would have to be the best place to stay in Ribe. When we arrived, we were greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine and the finest quality tea and coffee. Our room was large and included a lovely vintage velvet lounge suite. What made our experience very special stemmed from a problem that Postgaarden solved for us. We were due to attend a reception that night but had lost all the details, including the address and family name of the hosts, so we asked the owner of Postgaarden for help. He did some detective work and ended up finding the host family's name in the local newspaper. He then found their phone number and rang them for all the details. This effort took over an hour, but it was made with good will and a sense of fun. We felt totally at ease at the Postgaarden Hotel and would recommend it to travellers who like style and comfort without pretence.

Review 16:The location was very good, with access to many of the local attractions being within easy walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Review 35:Lack of car parking & shared bathroom.

Review 36:Location right on the main pedestrian street of the old town. Absolutely central to everything. Nice café and beer garden.. tea and coffee available in common area.. Unfortunately no unsuited bathrooms available. However serious parking challenges if you have a car. Excellent value for money, and a crooked old building full of historic character! Lack of car parking & shared bathroom.

Review 37:You can't find any better place thsn this one: a beauyiful ancient house, a royal style bed and a wonderfully furnitured and designed room, quit, 3 min from the railway station by foot on a charming old street and the last but not the least a friendly and attentative service!

Review 38:The floor was not flat because the building is old. When I rocked the door, it made n

Review 45:Good position, friendly welcome from English speaking staff, excellent selection of beers as was the plate of herring, delicious danish apple cake and filling breakfast. Comfy 4 poster bed and lots of helpful advice

Review 46:Didn't like that there was n parking available and wasn't impressed with the "shared bathroom". I was under the ipression we would only be sharing with the other couple we were with - not anybody else.

Review 47:It was an interesting place to stay.

Review 48:Would have preferred not to share a bathroom.

Review 49:The room had historic charm, four-poster bed (!), was clean and comfortable, and the staff and breakfast were excellent.

Review 50:we were in the former events suite, which was good really, but the walls between the rooms are thin.

Review 51:Staff were excellent and friendly, the accommodation had charm was clean, comfortable and spacious.

Review 52:Could have used a couple of amenities such as shampoo and a hair dryer. Luckily I brought my own. For two people with each a computer, it was a little difficult as there was no desk, only a small coffee table.

Review 53:The host, Jens, was most helpful, friendly and full of great and interesting information about the area. The room was large and clean, the bathroom and shower great. Breakfast was delicious. Coffee and tea in the room was a nice touch.
