Reviews for Hotel Rambla Emerita
Review 1:There was no soap in the bathroom, not correct cleaning, no place to put your personal items on taking a shower
Review 2:Location, in the center of town, helpfull staff. Merida is a nice town.
Review 3:Nothing.
Review 4:Excellent location for shops, Roman City and restaurants. Excellent help from hotel staff. Very good Continental breakfast with local charcuterie.
Review 5:Rooms of hotel needs some serious of renovation. Very small rooms and bathrooms. Mattresses are incfortable. Walls made of cardboard, it is as if the neighbours are in your room, haven't slept until 2 in the morning. Breakfast attendant is not an agreable or helpful person. Price for this quality is exagerated!
Review 6:Well located in center very near all what makes mérida such an interesting place. Parking space available (3) in front of hotel
Review 7:Bed a bit lumpy needs a memory foam as I could feel the springs.
Review 8:Nice clean rooms and friendly staff - went out of his way to get me water and was very helpful to both of u
Review 9:Excellent location, just short walk to all sights, shops and square. Helpful check in guy. Parking easy outside, just moved car a couple of times. Basic breakfast - very breakfast
Review 10:Good location in the center of town, comfortable room, friendly staff, parking close by and good value for money. Walkable to all the major sites (well preserved Roman ruins pop up as you stroll), restaurants and shops. Handy small park outside the front door..
Review 11:Slight trek from the bus station... mostly uphill. But that is largely a reflection of the location of the bus station, on the other side of the river from the centre and the attractions of the amphitheatre etc.
Review 12:General friendliness of staff, cleanliness and comfort of the hotel. Great bed!
Review 13:Best location, Rambla, roman ruins very interesting. Reception very good, interesting talk with Spanish speaking fellow trying hard to learn English.
Review 14:Maybe people could work out that if they can hear you, you can hear them. Be considerate and don't move the furniture in the middle of the night...
Review 15:There was nothing wrong with the room as such, apart from a slightly depressing decor. But the beds were so hard it hurt, and the noise insulation non-existing. I have slept in better insulated cabins on ferries. We could tell both the nationality (Germans right, Spaniards left) and the state of health (coughs) of our neighbours through the walls, and, at a pinch, rate the Spaniards' lovemaking (speedy, thankfully).
Review 16:Really uncomfortable bed with one bolster pillow.
Review 17:Clean hotel, good wifi connexion, excellent location - easy walking distance to all the main sites. Free parking. Friendly staff.
Review 18:nothing
Review 19:we arrived there at midnight and the receptionist was really nice everything is really clean location is perfect.. you can walk to the historical part of the city breakfast was good wifi works perfectly the receptionist was helpful when i asked good places in Spain to go. very good experience
Review 20:Breakfast good, but I would like to put my tomatoe by myself on the toast. A little more variety for the breakfast would have been good as well.
Review 21:Almost everything!
Review 22:This was a great hotel in terms of location as it was close to all the historical sites in Merida and near to the bars, restaurants, shopping areas. The Plaza De Espania is great in the evening very busy.Overall great.Be careful we went during a fiesta and lots of shops were closed but just our fault for not planning.
Review 23:No free wifi, corridors echo, so people returning late at night cause a lot of noise.
Review 24:Location is ideal for visiting the Roman attractions. Easy walking around town from the hotel. They have 4 spaces reserved for on-street parking, so no driving around trying to find a free space. Staff are really friendly and helpful.
Review 25:The b/fast was poor.I was told I could have eggs and bacon but all that was available was toast and our own t/bag
Review 26:Lovely room with Juliette balcony in the centre of town. Beware satnav location is wrong.Take the 1st left just before you town centre it's sign posted.
Review 27:Only stayed one night
Review 28:Friendly and helpful staff, good rooms/facilities and super location for the Roman ruins and night life. got to park motorcycles outside hotel.
Review 29:Room - small 101 Bed - basically a good bed with some kind of rubberised mattress cover making it clammy. No bar Price -high for a basic hotel Parking
Review 30:Staff Location
Review 31:extremely friendly reception, great location & value for one night stop to see the sights.
Review 32:Centre City Location. Accommodating with bicycles. Very close to Roman Ruins.
Review 33:Balcony!
Review 34:Thin walls. Noise from neighboring room.
Review 35:Staff! Location.
Review 36:wonderful hotel, small structure with large rooms, well kept and clean, staff very courteous, excellent position close to center.
Review 37:Beds were on the really basic side, but as we only stayed for one night it was ok.
Review 38:Staff was amazing. Really helpful
Review 39:Price. Strong chemical smell from cleaning products.
Review 40:Location
Review 41:Liked everything
Review 42:Great location, comfortable bed
Review 43:Central position.
Review 44:Internet fell out regulary
Review 45:Location, clean room
Review 46:Breakfast was not a good experience. Very limited choices, poor service, slow.
Review 47:The location was excellent and the price was super for a budget traveler.
Review 48:Convenient location to the sites and to the railway station. Reseption personnel especially nice and helpful.
Review 49:The walls are a little thin.
Review 50:The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is very well located for visiting the Roman ruins and old center.
Review 51:The staff Great central location for all thesites Good room, breakfast basic but good
Review 52:Central and good value
Review 53:Good, centrally located hotel, near to everything, but no food or drink served after the morning breakfast. Excellent wifi facility.
Review 54:Location and Cleaning
Review 55:walls to thin could hear people from other rooms
Review 56:good location
Review 57:Thin walls and THE most uncomfortable beds don't make for a good night's sleep. Breakfast poor too.
Review 58:Location and staff.
Review 59:We had no problems
Review 60:Everything
Review 61:Distribución de la habitación
Review 62:Servicio extraordinario Muy bien ubicado
Review 63:Clean hotel in excellent localization, more than you expect. Receptionist speaks English what is quite unusual in Spain :)
Review 64:Mattress
Review 65:Cozy
Review 66:The huge, hard bolster of a pillow on our bed made our first night a bit of a struggle, but the staff cheerfully replaced this with a normal set of pillows. I had the impression that they have had many complaints about this before. Why not get rid of the blessed things?!
Review 67:The location is superb. You are within easy walking distance of everything worth seeing and within easy walking distance also of a municipal car park where you can leave your car in safety. There are also zones where parking on the street is free 24/7, but we did not care to try this. The staff are friendly and helpful; breakfast (not included) is easy to get at the cafe on the ground floor; and the bed--apart from the horrible bolster/pillow, which was soon replaced--was perfectly comfortable. This is a modern place with no character, particularly, but much the same could be said for Merida as a whole. You are here for the roman ruins.
Review 68:It was a bit difficult to unload the luggage. The reserved space for that purpose was occupied for a long time. It was not a big problem but it is the only negative aspect I can point out.
Review 69:Everything. Location, staff and facilities. A nice place to spend time in a beautiful and interesting city.
Review 70:We were in a room overlooking the square and on Friday night it was very noisy. However we put this down to one very loud patron who was 10 times noisier than the rest of the other patrons from one of the bars in an adjoining square.
Review 71:Location and very helpful staff. We were walking the via La Plata. I was having trouble with my knee so they arranged to have our bags forwarded to the next town for us. As well the food in the restaurant was very good.
Review 72:everything else was cheap and shoddy. The beds were rockhard - so much so as to be damaging to my back. Pillows lumpy. Sound echoed through the hotel, etc, etc
Review 73:The coffee in an otherwise merger breakfast. Good location. Good air-conditoner
Review 74:Hotel parking only available until 10am. If you arrive expecting to see the sights you have to re-park which means its central location is of little use.
Review 75:Friendly staff, comfortable room.
Review 76:Service at the associated hotel bar/restaurant was poor. Althoughnumerous tapas and other eats were advertised, the bar management seemedindifferent to having business. There are many other eateries nearbywith cheaper prices and more friendly staff. Again, this experience waslimited to the hotel bar/restaurant; not any of the front desk orroom cleaning staff.
Review 77:The hotel is ideally situated within short walking distance of thetheater and amphitheater, and near walk streets with shops andrestaurants. The facilities are extremely clean and modern. None of thehotel staff spoke English, but were friendly and helpful. 24-Hourparking is available at a nearby public garage (2-minute walk).
Review 78:Breakfast very limited.
Review 79:Excellent location close to sites of interest and town centre. We were able to park in the street outside the hotel at no charge.
Review 80:All sorts of things did not work, the toilet, the key, etc. the key was especially troublesome, because you had to use it to get out of the room-- a definite safety hazard.
Review 81:Great location for viewing the Roman archaeological sites, especially the amphitheater and the theater. We could walk to everything.
Review 82:Nothing
Review 83:Difficult to find the hotel with the gps but once found, it was veryconvenient for walking to city. Parking on the street but be carefulwhere you park to avoid restrictive areas. Small hotel but very clean.Staff was helpful but spoke very little English.
Review 84:In March the bedding was a bit thin for a chilly night, however the roomheating worked well.
Review 85:It was located very near the historic Roman sites in Merida. We parkedon streets nearby and were able to walk to everything we wanted to see. Also near many restaurants and bars for taps etc. Hotel was quiet andvery clean. Basic breakfast as usual for Spain served in bar.
Review 86:it was overprized as it is no breakfast even if the continental one ,no frigde in the room
Review 87:it is a comfortable room and bathroom and it is at the centre of the town ,very polite staff
Review 88:The bed was uncomfortable (both matress and pillow) and the sheetshad a stain (had been washed but needed bleaching to remove thespot). Our room (103) was located near the cleaners closet and wewere woken up by the cleaning ladies at 7:30 am on a Saturday, notjust getting the supplies out but chatting loudly for quite some timeoutside our room door.
Review 89:The hotel is located near main attractions but not in a noisy area, atleast not noisy at night. We found free street parking near the hotelwithout a problem, but may be hard at certain times. I would notrecommend getting the breakfast for 5 euros, as there are severalcafeterias nearby where you can have a continental breakfast for abouthalf that price. The hotel is basic but fair for the price we paid.
Review 90:The location was the BEST. You can park your car just in front of the Hotel, & it is safe & walk to everything that is important to see & the Roman ruins are fantastic.
Review 91:I know it can be a stupid criticism, but there is no toilet in the hall:when I went to the hotel in the afternoon of the check out day to tookthe luggage I had left there, I couldn't use a bathroom.
Review 92:Very well situated in the centre of Merida, next to the touristicattractions and the commercial area. The room was clean and quite big.
Review 93:Did not work at night when it only blew cold air. It was better with theunit off and using extra blankets. I asked for a 1 pm check out (usual12 noon) and they did not give it as they said the hotel was full. Theheating problem was a major negative.
Review 94:Hotel Rambla Emerita meridaFunctional clean room. A little on the small side. Friendly staff. They do not give enough soap and no shampoo. Location excellent-very close to all attractions. On street free parking outside the hotel but the spots do fill up. A fine hotel and it did the job. Excellent value for money. wifi was fine. Heating system was a problem. Fine in the morning and evening. Did not work at night when it only blew cold air. It was better with the unit off and using extra blankets. I asked for a 1 pm check out (usual 12 noon) and they did not give it as they said the hotel was full. The heating problem was a major negative.
Review 95:The cheap grotty dive where you have to go down to the lobby to make a call from a pay phone. No drinking water in the room, no mini-bar. Unpleasant receptionist. Noisy as hell, I couldn't sleep a wink. I paid for 2 nights but checked out before the second night. I would rather stay in a youth hostel. It reminded me of a hookers' motel. Be warned!
Review 96:Great location near all sites of interest, Helpful staff, simply furnished room but with comfortable bed, good bathroom and very clean throughout. Great value for money!
Review 97:No bedside lights ! And while the bathroom was good, the air extractordid not work, leaving a lot of steam from the shower.
Review 98:Friendly people, good, quiet central location with easy access to thekey heritage sites in Merida, and an easy 5-10 minute walk from therailway station. Interesting non standard building: a very Spanish styleof small, modernised hotel. Has a lift.
Review 99:The staff were very friendly and most helpful. We chose the Hotel as it was so close to all the wonderful Roman Historical sites and it really was! We had a great 3 days in Merida. Thank you.
Review 100:Parking could possibly be a problem. We were there in May so not the height of the tourist season and there are three dedicated parking sites outside the hotel (free). We managed to get one of these so no problem, but if they were taken it could be difficult to park.
Review 101:The hotel Rambla Emerita is in an excellent location for all the Roman Sites in Merida. Its excellent value for money. Staff friendly but their English is not good. Breakfast is basic(bread, jam, butter, tea and juice) but adequate.Very clean and modern. We would certainly stay there again.
Review 102:We asked for a double room but in fact got a twin room; the breakfastwas not very good, the staff spoke only Spanish.
Review 103:The staff were very friendly, the parking is just in front of the hoteland we (unexpectedly) didn't have to pay for it.
Review 104:Sptlessly clean. Well situated.
Review 105:I had a room at the front and enjoyed looking out onto the park
Review 106:Beds were a bit uncomfortable.
Review 107:Location and staff were both great.
Review 108:Location. Perfect for exploring the City
Review 109:Very hard mattress. Poor shower fitting.
Review 110:Well-located for seeing all the Roman sites - everything within easy walking distance.
Review 111:Location very near to Roman remains and historical sites and excellent museum.
Review 112:Parking charges at hotel recomended parking location 15euros per day.
Review 113:I really liked the staff and location to go see the Mérida Theatre Festival
Review 114:Very clean and better than you would expect in a two star hotel
Review 115:Fair Price but small romos and toilets.
Review 116:Location, staff very helpfull
The Fine Print
