Reviews for Weis Stue

Review 1:beds are short and unconfortable, sheets clean but not well disposed on the mattress. You hear every single word of your neighbours.

Review 2:Excellently located. Historical house. 66€ for a double room is a good price

Review 3:Very steep narrow stairs with low beams above your head. Fine for smaller people but very difficult for anyone tall with mobility issues. 1 shower room and 1 toilet between 8 rooms is difficult when hotel is full. Queue to use in the morning. Doors and floors all squeak so not good for light sleepers. Only 1 room has a double bed. Others are all small narrow single beds against walls.

Review 4:Quirky, old fashioned, pretty to look at, great location, nice restaurant.

Review 5:The rooms are dark and a little cold

Review 6:The location of the hotel is perfect, the staff are nice, the place is clean. Also, the house in itself is an old place that can give you the flavour of how people used to live

Review 7:terrible and expensive dinner at the Weis Stue restaurant. However, there is a great steak house just down the road (Jacob's steak house).

Review 8:beds were comfy, awesome location, and authentic Ribe experience.

Review 9:The staircase to the rooms. Beeing locked up in the bathroom Painting falling down in the bed in the night

Review 10:The Staff were rearly kind and proff. The presence of mind in the bathroom situation. the price and central position

Review 11:The rooms are small, our beds were uncomfortable, the floorboards creak, and there is just one shared shower room and toilet for about four bedrooms.

Review 12:The location is excellent in the heart of Ribe, the building is very picturesque, and the food is good (with the option of eating in the cathedral square in fine weather).

Review 13:The staff could not care less, they could not answer any queries about where to park, just said that you would get fined if you parked in the wrong place. Dirty bathroom very poor beds that squeaked so much they woke you up. Terrible location to get any sleep with noisy drunks wandering around the square all night. We had booked 2 nights but left after one night, the only reason we stayed one nights that we could not get any other accommodation that night

Review 14:Nothing, rude staff, bad beds, no parking within the area,

Review 15:The stairs are very small and steep but manageable. Only one shower for 8 rooms but we had no problem to have access to it when needed.

Review 16:Right by the Dom. Best location in town. Very charming building. Good staff kind and polite and helpful. The building breath history. Great for the fan of history and not too fussy about the comfort. Nothing luxury here.

Review 17:Room was a bit dusty.

Review 18:perfect location in centre, old medieval atmosphere basic but OK rooms with shared toilets & bathroom

Review 19:No kitchen here :(

Review 20:You stay in a real house from 1600 and you can feel that! creaking floors, crooked by ages... You'll love it!!!

Review 21:One bathroom for too many rooms. When we were there some other guests just hogged the bathroom all evening.

Review 22:The location is fantastic

Review 23:Stejl smal trappe. Høj sengekant,

Review 24:Gårdhaven. Venlig betjening.

Review 25:The experience of staying in a XVII Century Inn across the street from the Cathedral in the oldest town in Denmark

Review 26:Small dark room

Review 27:Location! Originality

Review 28:I loved the uniqueness of the hotel: the room seemed to come from a medieval book! Everything was very quaint.

Review 29:Very nice hotel in the city center of Ribe. The facilities are basic but the stay was good.

Review 30:Lack of privacy; you can literally hear your neighbours breathe. No breakfast in house.

Review 31:Location Quaint setting

Review 32:This hotele' plan was for one night and incluse breakfast. But not incluse breakfast.

Review 33:No complaints at all.

Review 34:Close to centre. Parking outside hotel. Receptionist pleasant and helpful. Nice large room. Could have self catered.

Review 35:Sleeping facilities. Dingy and dirty carpet. Unbelievably poor access to rooms. Was placed on third floor with stairs no bigger than a ladder. From second to third floor no railing to hold on to and almost impossible to get your suitcase up there. No help at all from the establishment. Would never stay there again or recommend it.

Review 36:Location.

Review 37:On arrival could not find anyone to help. There is no front desk and I had to wander around and find a waitress who was very rude and said I did not have a reservation, but I did and found my name. Quite rude.

Review 38:Ambiance of a 17th century inn and location.

Review 39:We got the feeling that the staff couldn't have cared whether we were there or not. One shared bathroom and toilet for eight bedrooms is not enough! Beware if you have heavy bags. The stairs are steep, especially if you end up on the top floor.

Review 40:The charm is staying in a 15th century building. Location is great right in the main town square.

Review 41:- nothing

Review 42:- friendly staff - excellent location - ask for a guest parking card so you can leave your car in the city center - nice old, authentic feel - the right price

Review 43:The stairs to the rooms is very steep - would not suitable anyone with reduced mobility.

Review 44:Beautiful old building = charme and character. Basic but very comfortable accommodation. Excellent restaurant. Ribe is a very pleasent town to visit. Highly recommended!

Review 45:Small rooms, low ceilings, steep stairs, shared bathroom.

Review 46:Location of the hotel: central Ribe. Friendly staff. Old building with character. Reasonably-priced.

Review 47:As stated in review, very steep and narrow stairs to rooms. No breakfast included, but breakfast is nearby (3 different places in 100m) and they help pointing them out. It's an restaurant so You can only check in when it is open. Toilet is on first floor with 2 rooms on second and to get to batchroom You need to descend the steep stairs (problem if You are sleepy :o)) But I would very much recommend it again if You are able to climb the stairs.

Review 48:Large clean rooms, very central (50m from city center), Very old original city house, good food in restaurant. Friendly staff.

Review 49:Totally inappropriate for anyone with physical disabilities, large suitcases or baby strollers.

Review 50:What a fantastic experience. After paying for our night the staff member said "The rooms are in this closet." She opened the closet door and we climbed up a very narrow, very steep staircase/ladder and hoisted ourselves onto the second floor. Then we looked around for another closet door leading to the third floor where our room actually was. Another very steep, very narrow staircase/ladder and we arrived. The whole experience felt like a chapter out of Harry Potter, looking for track 9&3/4. Yes we had to share a bathroom, but there was never anyone around when we wanted access. I would definitely stay there again.

Review 51:Only having 2 nights there!

Review 52:To stay at Weis Stue is to experience a past age. It is not * ** status, but is quite comfortable, extremely well positioned and staffed by very pleasant and helpful people. If you are visiting Denmark, we would recommend that don't miss Ribe and cap the experience of with a stay at Weis Stue.

Review 53:Best answer for Question 3 would be "Historical". This ancient (built 1600) hotel has an iterior from 1704, so be prepared to climb steep, narrow stairs to your room. However, the place is clean and comfortable, and has been retrofit with shower and flush toilet. An awesome experience and a great sleep!

Review 54:Everything was perfect :) so I cannot answer this question.

Review 55:This is the second time we have stayed at Weis Stue and we absolutlylove the location and the old world feel of the rooms. I woulddefinatley recommend this place to anyone who is seeking the realDenmark and not the large hotel chains. We will return to this locationagain and again .

Review 56:No breakfast or tea/coffee facilities, The rooms are above the hotel restaurant so it can be a little noisy if you need to sleep early.

Review 57:Absolutely charming property right in the centre of old town! It is within a few minutes walk from all the main sights and an easy 5 to 10 minute walk to the Viking Museum and Ribe train station. Check in/out was very easy. The Night Watchman starts his walk from this property and we were lucky enough to join the walk!

Review 58:Beautiful old building - oozing with character. Basic but very comfortable accommodation. Excellent restaurant. Ribe is a very pleasent town to visit. Highly recommended!

Review 59:I have a bad back so the mattress was a little bit soft.

Review 60:Just about everything. The ancient building was a joy to be in - exactly the kind of place I like. Lots of atmosphere oozing out of the old walls. The lady (possibly the owner) was extremely friendly...when I asked for tea she gave it to me free of charge! It is an experience staying there. I would recommend it highly.

Review 61:Onion soup had poor taste

Review 62:Uniqueness of the hotel, affordable room prices

Review 63:Location. Historic building

Review 64:Staff seemed tired of visitors, not overly helpful

Review 65:It´s a charming place, in the city center.

Review 66:ambience + excellent service!

Review 67:The historic atmosphere The central location Good food

Review 68:i loved the old theme of the hotel\inn. something different and exciting would def go back in the future

Review 69:Shared bathroom (but clean though simple)

Review 70:The hotel is extremely charming. Time travel in the 17th century. Not very comfy but CHARMING.

Review 71:The old-world charm of this beautiful hotel in the centre of a well-preserved historical town

Review 72:Poky little room. For the price I paid I would expect breakfast and at least a wash basin in the room if not en-suite.

Review 73:The location

Review 74:Comfort to poor

Review 75:The city

Review 76:Noise from neighbours room, i could hear entire conversations!, steep stairs, rubbish bins out front

Review 77:Efficient check in, location

The Fine Print

Please note that it is not possible to check in outside the normal front desk opening times. The building dates back to the 1600s and has very steep stairs.
