Reviews for Hospederia Luis de Góngora

Review 1:No elevator but there are a few rooms on the ground. No luggage storage facility but the staff offered to leave it downstairs (with narrow stairs). too much effort to store our heavy luggages, we just went off to the train station. The staff wont accept €100 notes. He was afraid of fake notes.

Review 2:The room is clean and small, and it has ac/heater. Bed is ok. Good enough since we only need a room to sleep at night. There is a vending machine for bottled water and snack at the lobby. Also a coffee vending machine. Location is about 10 mins slow walk (with baby) to the mesquita. Easy to access by taxi, only 10 meters from the road.

Review 3:Our room was on ground floor, next to front door and reception and right on the street outside and therefore a bit noisy at night! The interior patio courtyard was tiny.

Review 4:Location was good, on edge of old city and walking distance to train station. It was quite adequate for our needs; clean and comfortable, but a little disappointing.

Review 5:A desk in the room would be nice.

Review 6:Excellent location, close to all the sights, facing a square where there are several bars where you can have something to eat. Staff is very nice and helpful.

Review 7:Everything was great! Great location, it was not a problem when we asked for a quite room - we got a lovely ne at the top floor. And the personel was very nice and helpful!

Review 8:No breakfast was available there or anywhere really until after 8.30 which is a little difficult if you want to catch an early train.

Review 9:The staff here were very good, checked me in early, always helpful. The single room was small but had everything you need, clean and comfy. Handy to shops and the main places of interest in Córdoba.

Review 10:Perfect spot ! The staff was very kind and helpful. We came become check in so we left our bags and walked around, came back and they carried our bags to our room. We had a private room & private bathroom which was very nice ! We were able to sleep even though it's on a busy street so it's perfect !

Review 11:Location is excellent, walkable from train station and the major sights. The cafe Omunda de Alicia was very good for breakfast. Also nearby a friendly greengrocer for our fruits supply.

Review 12:Nothing,

Review 13:We arrive 3h before check in time because we had a wedding at 1.30am. Unfortunately all rooms were ocuppied but the receptionist was so kind to offer the first room available as soon as someone leave the room . Bed was anazing,

Review 14:Only one small bedside table to put our belongings.

Review 15:Good location, close to main attractions. 5-10 mins walk to the famous Mosque cathedral. Valued for money.

Review 16:Room was tiny -- smallest of all the rooms we had in Spain and Portugal.

Review 17:Great location in Cordoba, close to Mesquite and other sights. Staff were friendly.

Review 18:Would have liked an electric kettle in my room or available in lounge since no breakfast.

Review 19:Very quiet and comfortable place in old section. Very much appreciated the cafe in the small plaza where the locals gathered.

Review 20:nothing really! the bed size is a little small but that is almost everywhere in Andalusia.

Review 21:a little gem in the center. perfect place for a stopover in Cordoba. very good staff, clean room, excellent Wifi, good toilet and in 10 minutes you are at the doorstep of Mesquita. cheap coffee and water at hotel. no complaints - will stay here again.

Review 22:The gentleman at the reception didn't sound too friendly - don't know how much of it was down to the language barrier. But that wasn't a deal breaker to be honest.

Review 23:This is a great little place in Cordoba - only 5 minutes walk away from Mezquita, situated in a small quiet alley. The bed was comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean and the AC was really impressive (I really needed that). The free wifi worked like a charm as well. Anyone visiting Cordoba, please don't miss Medinat Al-Zahra - it's really impressive.

Review 24:- No hair-dryer. - No hot water in early morning.

Review 25:- Close to Mezquita, Roman bridge, bus station, great shops, bars and cafes. - Staff was friendly.

Review 26:The room and the bathroom were a bit too small for my taste, however, they were very clean.

Review 27:The receptionists were all really, friendly, kind and helpful, they gave us a map of Córdoba and gave us information about places to visit, where to park, main areas to have tapas. They even gave us directions to drive back home. The room was spotless and the bed incredibly comfy. The location was excellent and the price quite low. When I visit Cordoba next time, I'll try to book a room here again. I don't know about wi-fi as I didn't use it.

Review 28:Notihng particlar to report. Note that this is a typical hostal and not a hotel.

Review 29:This hotel/hostal provides fair rooms for the price paid. Staff was fine, but nothing spectacular in comparison to other hotels we stayed in on our trip through Andalucia. Rooms are fine and clean, but nothing too fancy and equipment may be even considered as bit outdated (bed though very nice and hard).

Review 30:thin walls - woken at 7am by banging one morning and another at 5am by neighbours coming back. TV reception very poor

Review 31:location lovely local square clean, comfortable rooms

Review 32:Rooms a little cramped but then its value for money i guess.

Review 33:Close to station, mezquita, roman bridge. quiet place with helpful owners, very safe to walk around even late in the night.

Review 34:The hotel was small, the rooms are small, no soap dish in the shower, no place to sit in the room other than the bed, room facing the street was noisy, bedspread needed cleaning. Bathroom sinks so small, almost useless. Sometimes no hot water. We stayed three nights, one is optimal.

Review 35:Location was ideal, room facing the courtyard was quiet, Albert was very helpful, wifi everywhere. Good value.

Review 36:On a very noisy street at night/early mornings. The room was a bit too small, but considered the price it's ok. No Elevator.

Review 37:Good location, great staff. There is cheap public parking (1euro per day) just 5 minutes walk (Paseo de la Victoria).

Review 38:- no place to park car near

Review 39:- nice new bathroom - 3 min walk from city centre - kind, helpful and friendy staff - calm street, no noise from traffic

Review 40:Perfect location in center of Cordoba, nice stuff, clean and comfortable room with terrace, TV and air conditioner.

Review 41:Ambience, location

Review 42:Very basic. Extremly poorly soundproofed. Everything else except for the location

Review 43:Good location

Review 44:Make sure you don't stay on the rooms number 1,2,3 and 4. They are just by the front door so it's too noisy.

Review 45:The location.

Review 46:None

Review 47:Staff just great and Very clean room

Review 48:The hospitality was amazing!

Review 49:nothing to add here

Review 50:- location is a great advantage - not far away from bus/train station (some 15 minutes walking)

Review 51:Amazing little place in an amazing town.

Review 52:No elevator.

Review 53:Fabulous location and quite cheap.

Review 54:The room was fine with all the necessary features.

Review 55:Quite noisy in a room overlooking the street, and the nearby Plaza de Trinadad.

Review 56:Location and free wifi.

Review 57:Bedroom had room to move around.

Review 58:We could walk everywhere from the hotel

Review 59:room very narrow, but ok for one night

Review 60:walking distance to train station (about 1 km) and city center.

Review 61:There is a terrace. Very clean. Good atmosphere.

Review 62:No hot water in late afternoon for a shower before going out. No heating - just air conditioning that did not work properly.

Review 63:Price

Review 64:small room, noisy at night, wifi terrible

Review 65:location in the center, close to restaurants, good shower albeit small

Review 66:small room

Review 67:the receptionists were very good, giving us very good pieces of advice for things to do.

Review 68:Though claimed to be non-smoking room, my room smelled strongly of smoke and it was unbearable.

Review 69:No elevator

Review 70:very friendly staff and good location

Review 71:Location

Review 72:Location, helpful staff.

Review 73:Lack of privacy: noise + being disturbed in the room at siesta time by a staff member who wanted our remote control...

Review 74:Balcony Location

Review 75:They didn't change the towels or give us some clean ones..

Review 76:Wifi and location

Review 77:Friendly staff, close to everything we were interested in. Nice size room, everything was great. Would absolutely recommend it without hesitation.

Review 78:Very noisy

Review 79:Great place to stay when visiting Cordoba. Only a short walk to all the sights. The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. Fantastic value for money

Review 80:Very small, dark room and toilet, and shower as well. It's only to spend one or at most two nights. No hair-drier.

Review 81:Good location. !0 min walk to the Bus- and Train station, Cathedral, Alcasar and other main sights of the city.

Review 82:Very basic furniture and bathroom. We got room on the first floor, next to the entrance - was very loud at night.

Review 83:Staff was friendly, great location, we easily found free parking places nearby.

Review 84:I had a great stay. The staff was friendly, available and helpful day and night. The hostal has a pretty patio in the back and is located in the historic part of the city. The wifi connection was excellent and worked all the time. I would definitely return to this hostal and have nothing negative to say about it. As a woman travelling alone, I felt completely safe and at home.

Review 85:3 floors and no lift!

Review 86:wonderful location close to cafes + restaurants. vending for coffee + snacks. good size room with lovely terrace. for 1*hostel very good - would recommend without a doubt.

Review 87:We had a double room which was a bit small but as we only stayed one night in Cordoba and didn't have too much luggage it was OK. For longer stays i would go for something a bit bigger. Some of the staff did not bother to speak English but we managed to understand each other. The was one issue with the reservation as we had requested a double room and got a twin bed one instead. As we were only staying for 1 night we didn't bother to change it, but this was a bit unpleasant. Wifi was not very strong.

Review 88:The guesthouse is perfectly located very close to Cordoba's Great Mosque (around 7 minutes walk) in a quite pleasant area. If you come by car there are underground parking spots for about 11EUR/day just a few minutes walk away which is very convenient. The room was clean but basic. The staff were helpful and prompt with providing directions to the parking and hotel when we contacted them by email before our arrival.

Review 89:The room service was flawless. The desk (lobby) staff, including Manuel, Alfred were personable and very good natured, always willing to help in any way possible. If I ever return to Cordoba, this is without question where I would stay again.

Review 90:Upon arrival it was clear that we had not been assigned a room. After a while we were shown to our small and cramped room. We wanted 2 single beds (according to Booking.com bed preference option), but were given a double bed. When we questioned this, we were told the form did not indicate the preference - this was correct as the form did not reflect any bed preference option. We asked if we could move rooms at some stage during our 3 night stay, nothing more was said to us about our request during the next 3 days. Our room was not great, it was small, tapering narrowly and had no chair or table at all. The bathroom, although very clean, was minuscule - it was barely possible to turn around in the shower.

Review 91:Location is fantastic, away from the tourist frenzy around the Mezquita, but close enough to most things. Our initial welcoming was very friendly. In general the staff at the desk always greeted on passing and were friendly. Wifi was great.

Review 92:very spacious room, absolutely wonderful and helpful staff (thank you, guys, for your advices, for waiting for us an extra hour, for explaining patiently everything we needed!) beautiful old building, the parking is just couple of meters away, great location

Review 93:The only small minus is a lack of parking. However, underground parking is located some 200 m from the hotel.

Review 94:Location is great, only few minutes walk from the famous Mezquita. Room was small, but clean. Staff was very kind and helpful. We were very glad.

Review 95:I didn't sleep well during the night, because we heard almost all from the other rooms.

Review 96:Location right in the old town. If you travel for 1-2 nights it's a good option. Staff give us all details about visiting Cordoba, where to eat...very helpful.

Review 97:Excellent small hotel, situated near to every thing a tourist wants tosee. The rooms are fairly small but spotless and with a very goodshower. We found it a little difficult to find but with the help of alocal took who us to the door. Street parking is almost impossible so weparked in the underground car park on the Paeso de la Victoria,11 eurosfor 24 hours.

Review 98:Nothing

Review 99:The hotel is situated in former Jewish district, so the proximity to all major attractions in the city is just at your fingertips. Room are not the biggest ones, but everything inside looks like brand new. I really liked the wooden floorboards as you do not feel the coldness of floor. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Review 100:A little noisy at times due to room location near the front door and check in desk, but really not a problem after midnight.

Review 101:Great location, comfortable room and very clean. I felt very secure as a solo traveller.

Review 102:Downstairs it is noisy from the reception.

Review 103:Kind stuff and helpful. I like the room and equipment, very simple and useful. My room was situated downstairs next to the redeption,ot was a bit noisy and i heard every word ans ring but for one night it was not a problem for me.

Review 104:There is no elevator, so we needed to carry a heavy suitcase up to the second floor.

Review 105:Excellent location. Nice big bathroom. Comfortable beds. Nice staff. They kept our suitcases.

Review 106:This is a great little hotel in the heart of the characteristic winding streets of historic Cordoba. This was the 2nd time we've stayed here, the staff is always pleasant and helpful, the rooms are small but have everything you'd need. I will be back!

Review 107:Wifi bandwidth is pretty bad - strong signal everywhere in hotel but still can't upload photos or download files.

Review 108:I really enjoyed staying here. Location is excellent for all the sights, bus and train station, modern commercial shopping, etc.. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable, bathrooms are nicely decorated.

Review 109:This was a one night stop before our 4* hotel in Cordoba. Room very small, noisy as right on street. Bed sheets tatty, towels seen better days. Air con was an electric fan. To be fair not our type of hotel but only one we could find for one night due to late booking.

Review 110:Location good and staff very friendly and knowledgeable.

Review 111:the paid parking they recommend - on avenida victoria - is a bit too far from the hotel if you have a lot of luggage

Review 112:double room small but clean and nicely decorated. very good location, close(10 min walk) to mezquita, alcazar and roman bridge, just outside the jewish quarter. very polite and helpful staff

Review 113:Wifi signal not great in rooms but fine in the reception and nice courtyard seating area.

Review 114:Great location, easy walk into the centre of the city and all the sights and close to nearby parking garage. Small rooms but fine for sleeping and showering whilst out the rest of the time.

Review 115:Everything was OK!

Review 116:Very friendly stuff, nice location, comfortable room, good price, love that place! And I really, really apreciated, that the guy on the reception speaks english, cos unfortunately I do not speak spanish. And he gave us a map and also some advices. Thanks!

Review 117:None.

Review 118:Staff is very warmhearted and helpful. Location is good, not too far to railway station and historical centre (by walk 10 minutes). Clean, spacious.

Review 119:Clean and good hotel, friendly stuff, situated in the centre of historical part of city - everything rather close and supermarket too)) If you like silent may be you will dissapoint because near hotel is square with chirch and in morning and afternoon rings bell))) For me it is not problem - I walk almost all a day...))

Review 120:No complaints... bathroom was quite small and cramped

Review 121:Cute room, air conditioner was a champ on the 100+ degree day, comfortable, great decor, excellent location both to bus and train stations and the town itself

Review 122:The rooms and bathrooms are pretty small. It's pretty much just a place to shower and sleep. (This didn't bother me, especially, but I know it may be on other people's radars.)

Review 123:The staff was great, the location was good, and the place was clean. We were able to walk pretty much everywhere after we checked in.

Review 124:Rooms are small but comfortable and clean enough for a short stay inthis beautiful city. There's a small inside and ouside lounge areawith good wifi access. The staff is very friendly and have many tips onwhere to go and what to see in pictoresque Cordoba. Situated in acentral, but hard to find location. Then again, everything in the oldcentre of Cordoba is hard to find, which is also the charm of this area.

Review 125:The fact that it had 3 floors and no lift. I dont remember seeing when I booked that there was no lift as my sister and her husband were put on the 3rd floor and struggled with the stairs and bringing their case down stairs. staff was helpful on our arrival , but we left early when there was not staff around to help.

Review 126:It was clean and near all the attractions
