Reviews for Hotel El Tabanco
Review 1:Location meant tricky driving approach and parking situation but sorted out very quickly by manager. Secure off street parking a few hundred metres away satisfactory
Review 2:Staff excellent. Very good value for money.
Review 3:Bit noisy from neighbouring bar bit fine with earmuffs.
Review 4:Authentic, unpretentious and friendly welcome. A small and typical hotel in the Andaluz style. Great local breakfast. Good optional meals in their restaurant.
Review 5:nothing
Review 6:The room was very clean, looks as in the photos , there is a small fridge, where you can store your cold drinks, the bed was comfortable, the shower was good , always hot water, clean, the staff were very nice and helpful , the manager very friendly, He helped us parking the car in their own garage, The breakfast is a regular Spanish breakfast, very good ham slices on bread The hotel has a good restaurant, and on the day of leaving we got a bottle of wine (vino de la casa), The place is very safe, even you are near the road it is quiet .
Review 7:The car park is down the hill a little from the hotel and parking on the road whilst going to check in was a little inconvenient but not the end of the world. I found it difficult to find and drove around it in circles for a bit which might not sound like a big deal but the roads are tiny!
Review 8:Lovely little hotel and very reasonably priced. The room and bathroom were very well furnished. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had a lovely meal in their restaurant, the chocolate moose was delicious!
Review 9:The whole stay was thoroughly enjoyable, on arrival we were greeted and shown where to park our car in the hotels private parking area. We only stayed one night but everything was up to standard, the beds were comfortable and considering breakfast was complementary in the morning we thought our stay was tremendous value.
Review 10:Narrow beds and the room was very cold on our arrival. In spite of the heating on we were cold all night. The pub where breakfast is served was also very cold in the morning during breakfast. It consisted just of a cup of coffee and a large jamon sandwich.
Review 11:A good base for expolring the Grazalema Mountains and pueblos blancos. A quiet patio room.
Review 12:Having to leave.
Review 13:Liked everything. The friendliness of Tonia and staff and the way they went out of their way to accommodate our every wish. Food really tasty.
Review 14:Insufficient lighting in bedroom (difficult for bedtime reading). Limited choice for breakfast: though I like ham and tomatoes on tostada, I find it hard to face first thing in the morning (however I was given freshly squeezed orange juice, which was absolutely delicious).
Review 15:Very authentic Spanish village on the edge of the Sierra de Grazalema, well-situated for visiting the Parque Natural as well as the surrounding pueblos blancos. The staff were very friendly and took the time to try to understand my attempts at speaking Spanish (I found elsewhere that this is not always the case!) Free parking in a safe, enclosed area was a bonus. Though the lighting in the room was poor, we were provided with an extra bedside lamp at our request.
Review 16:No negatives, we will be back
Review 17:The people in El Bosque are great. The village is lively in a peacefulway. It's a great opportunity to try out your Spanish and engagewith the community. Antonio and his staff looked after us so well. Thehotel is beautifully authentic, the food great.
Review 18:Parking on the street near hotel was nearly impossible, but there is a public parking lot and individual 'pull in' street spaces several blocks away.
Review 19:Staff was super great~even though no English was spoken we managed to communicate. Lift~ Cleanliness Our room was an 'attic' type room with a private terrace for 50€, including a breakfast of fresh baked bread, Han & cheese Restaurant & bar on premises Cute town, relatively easy to park in
Review 20:We enjoyed our stay here nothing not to like. Not a problem to us but it may be worth mentioning on booking.com's information that the restaurant is closed Sunday evening. Having said that there are places to eat next door to the hotel.
Review 21:The authenticity of life in a small Spanish village is captured within this hotel. We loved its location and the friendliness of its owners. The hotel is tastefully presented. Good comfortable accommodation worth far more than its one star. Offers a great stopping off place with ease of access or a base for exploring the natural park.
Review 22:The TV in the bedroom is very small.
Review 23:The staff were, at all times, helpful and friendly. Extremely professional, well managed by Antonio, the attentive owner. The food and wines are locally sourced and prepared beautifully in an immaculately clean kitchen. We enjoyed all the food we tried, most of which had been recommended by the owner. The advice and guidance we received regarding the locality were invaluable and enabled us to maximise our time appropriately.
Review 24:Staff excellent ...
Review 25:Nothing
Review 26:Breakfast, staff, location. Great food and homemade pizzas. Restaurant
Review 27:Staff was always there to help and advise on everything from what to see and do to where to dine.
Review 28:Great staff and the restaurant was excellent.
Review 29:We had a small room but for one night stay this was sufficient
Review 30:The very friendly stuff made this stay a real pleasure
Review 31:We liked everything
Review 32:Nothing at all.
Review 33:All the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble at all. Want to return already!
Review 34:it was very cold and heater did not work well
Review 35:great room and very nice breakfast
Review 36:The politeness and helpfulness of staff
Review 37:Perhaps a local information sheet would be a good idea.
Review 38:The staff were truly helpful and genuine. Our arrival was delayed andall though the bar/restaurant was closing they still provided foodand drinks, which was much needed after a tiresome day.
Review 39:We came there in winter, and it was quite chilly, but we got only one thin woolen blanket for each bed. When we asked for more blankets they told us to turn on the air-conditioning, but as it is quite noisy and has no remote control I had to get up at least four times that night to turn it on and off again. Breakfast is very poor: a toasted bread roll with jam and butter and a glass of coffee or tea. We had walked the day before and were hungry, but when we asked for more bread the owner asked if we also wanted coffee. As I said, yes, one more coffee, he braught us two glasses and two more bread rolls, just in order to be able to charge us 5 euros extra argueing we had eaten two breakfasts each. In comparison to places like Ronda, Arcos de la Frontera or Jerez de la Frontera, where you can get a double room in a good three-stars-hotel for 40 euros (off-season), El Tabanco is much too expensive.
Review 40:Rooms are spacy and clean, but most of them have a window on the narrow courtyard where guests of the restaurant may sit in warm nights.
Review 41:Maybe the bedroom was a little to rustic!
Review 42:The Manager and his staff couldn't do enough for us. Food and wine was excellent.
