Reviews for Pirita Spa Hotel
Review 1:Temperature of +20C was a little bit too cold for us in the room, however it was -24C outside so that's kinda understandable.
Review 2:Great pool and sauna, excellent breakfast and good price for all!
Review 3:I was charged twice for the same reservation and if I would not noticed that later that will stay so forever. I got my money back only 2 weeks later after long phone call.
Review 4:Awful pillows - too small and thin. Bed was not very comfortable (too soft). Only liquid soap for everything in bathroom. Some rooms don't have wi-fi.
Review 5:Great location - right on the beach. Good swimming pool. Breakfast was ok. Comfortable temperature in the room despite the cold weather (adjustable heater). Free and fast wi-fi where available.
Review 6:I enjoyed a lot the swimming pool with classical music themes in the background . Not less important the presence of 2 types of sauna - turkish and finnish. The whole thing results to be very relaxing !!
Review 7:Location- far from everthing Staff- not smiling and we didn't feel welcome. Sorry for interrupting personal with our money and asking for treatments. Room was old dirty broken. Lamp was broken and it was something from this olympic times what it was. What we really didn't like was in this booking we had free cancellation but the money was taken from my credit card week before we visited hotel.
Review 8:That we didn't have to pay for minibar because there was no minibar!
Review 9:Very old tv set in the room. Lack of wifi in the room at the beginning. WiFi appear at the end of my stay in the hotel.
Review 10:Spa and sporting fasilyties are good.
Review 11:As spa treatments we had facials and massages and manicures. The massages were terrible. Some of us were asked to undress to our underwear, we were not covered to stay warm or to cover up naked body parts (sic!) and it was most unpleasent and humiliating. The massagers didnt speak anything, didnt ask for preferals or aching parts and didnt explain anything. It felt very cold. the massage didnt have the wanted effect either, not thorough at all, only superficial.
Review 12:The room was at a good price, breakfast very basic. The location in Pirita was though excellent. Really good possibilities for outside exercise, beautiful nature!
Review 13:our room was good, but the hotel needs some renovation
Review 14:convenient location, beautiful scenery (marine class room), swimming pool, saunas, value for money
Review 15:Bed smell in the room, double bed 140 cm wide only, broken lamp, so on. However we got another room quickly and without problems. WiFi only in the reception area.
Review 16:Fair price/quality ratio. Good breakfast.
Review 17:nothing atall ...i loved it
Review 18:....check in was easy and done really efficiently and was allowed to check in earlier than my specified time ..room a good size overlooking the street, and although i was there for 5 nights { 18-23 october } i dont think i can recall ever hearing a car go past outside ..room cleaned every day ...breakfast was great with a good variety of both hot and cold food ...staff really friendly and helpful ..plenty to do within the hotel if you didnt fancy venturing out ...its only about a 12 / 13 minute bus ride into the centre and not as far away from the centre as most people here seem to moan about ....overall, a great hotel and i would definitely recommend it ..oh, and the price was fantastic value for money too ....keep up the good work pirita spa .....
Review 19:The room was uncleaned on arrival. In bathroom there was hair from previous guest (guests!!) on the floor and the wall, and there was a pice of broken glass on the floor I stepped on it. The whole hotel is old and dirty. There were lot of young guest and drunk ones, they were very loud even after 2 o'clock in the night. This hotel is not for rest and relaxation. The breakfast was poor, the selection was small. I'll never choose this hotel again.
Review 20:The location and the see view is nice.
Review 21:The hotel bar/cafe was quite expensive.
Review 22:The out of town location was excellent, on the shore of the Baltic - getting into town was easy on the bus which was also inexpensive.
Review 23:The building was very huge and it was hard to find our room. Not good if you´re travelling with a child or if you´re disabled to move.
Review 24:The swimming pool and saunas were great. Good variety of breakfast. Beautiful sea view.
Review 25:The building was a crumbling concrete monstrosity and in UK would be condemned as unsafe.
Review 26:There was very little to like about the hotel except that the staff were pleasant. The swimming pool was closed for repair so we were able to use the facilities of a far better Tallink hotel in Tallinn
Review 27:This is a very expensive hotel if you travel with dog. They charge us €32 per dog and night! Extremly expensive and you pay for nothing extra! There are other hotels in Tallin that are better and more priceworth.
Review 28:Nice Close to the water
Review 29:No wifi in the room! Need modernization to meet business needs for travelers working in the room.
Review 30:Breakfast was very good! Perfect with free parking just outside.
Review 31:Not experienced before (have stayed many times at pirita) but there was periodicaly a strong sewagey smell in the bathroom.
Review 32:Great breakfast, cool building, beautiful location and cheap price.
Review 33:Long and complicated walk to room, tired decor and furnishings, no fridge and no cold storage offered
Review 34:Views over bay, quiet location, good parking and access to bus, good breakfast
Review 35:The room was filthy, the sheets were dusty and the TV was ancient and didn't work properly. They said I had free wifi in my room before I arrived but when I got there it was only in the lobby.
Review 36:The breakfast was lovely!
Review 37:The reception staff was friendly, but not really knowledgeable. For example, they did not know that the hotel offered a substitute for their sauna area that was under construction during my stay. I showed them my e-mail about that and it was a news for them. Fair enough, though, they called me back in 2 hours to confirm that I would be able to enjoy spa in another hotel for free. When I asked about the time of the last bus from the city to the hotel, the receptionist told me that it was midnight, although it actually was 23.24 on a weekday. I also asked about the transport to the botanical garden, and they suggested only one bus to me, although there are 3 of them that go there. I guess, the reception is mostly busy with the groups of athletes who come to the hotel for their training. I decided to rely on internet for any further information. The problem there is the fact, that the WiFi is only available in the lobby and the hotel corridors of the hotel are so long that it took me 7 minutes to walk to the lobby from my room.
Review 38:I liked the view on the bay with its yachts and ships from the breakfast room. The breakfast offer is sumptuous indeed. I also liked the fact that smoking is forbidden anywhere in the hotel, even on the balconies. It is reasonable as my room would stink if somebody smoked on the balcony next doors. I liked the abundance of all sorts of massages and beauty treatments available and the efficiency of the beauty parlour reception staff. I liked that there is a beach nearby. I also liked walking from the city to the hotel along the coast scattered with monuments. It took me about 30 minutes, but I would not like to do it in winter. There is public transport available.
Review 39:The pool and suana was out-of-use for repair/maintenance during mystay. They did offer the facilities in their other hotel in town, withfree taxi but this was not according to my intention why I choose thishotel in the first place. They should have mentioned that the on-sitefacilities where not available.
Review 40:Staff was super-friendly and a welcome chance to other places I havestayed during this trip
Review 41:Wifi is only available at the lobby.
Review 42:The hotel is located right on the beach next to a marina. The old town is easily accessible by bus. You can enjoy hiking and biking in the woods by the river.
Review 43:Unfortunately we found out when we arrived that the pool and spa were shut for refurbishment. It wasn't a major issue as the sea was more than suitable for swimming (the odd jellyfish excluded) but it would have been nice to know in advance as its one reason we picked Pirita for our honeymoon.
Review 44:A lovely location with good surrounding facilities and helpful staff. The view from the room was stunning and watching the sun set over the sea from the balcony was a highlight. The lobby bar was great for a snack and there were some lovely beach side restaurants a short walk away. A perfect base to explore Tallinn.
Review 45:Sometimes a bit like a maze since you couldn't go with elevator to the 3rd floor. No bacon at the breakfast.
Review 46:Nice staff and rooms. Breakfast was good.
Review 47:Toilets in reception area not clean. My room was never serviced. Pool not open for my stay but nobody's fault. Better furniture on balcony needed.
Review 48:Lovely sea view. Nice bar. MOST staff friendly. Lovely alcohol shop
Review 49:The swimming pool was closed for maintenance and we were not informed about this.
Review 50:The breakfast buffet was excellent, and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Review 51:Old unrestored 1 star hotel. Accommodation with small kids was not acceptable: family rooms were at the third floor while elevator was only available for second floor: we have to get suitcases and cartage upstairs by our own. Rooms are not restored, furniture is old and not always clean. Sauna and pool were on restoration without proper notice while booking
Review 52:Nice location outside the city on the shore with perfect city view. Breakfast was quite good
Review 53:It's better if we have wifi in room instead of common areas
Review 54:The swimming pool, the sauna and the great view on the sea :) Many bus goes to the city center in 5-10 min if you don't have a car.
Review 55:The room was too far away from reception, a five minute walk. Very frustrating when the room key fails.
Review 56:Near the mania where we met up with our sailing family and friends. It was easy to get into Tallinn.
Review 57:- wifi was only near reception. - we were traveling with baby in stroller, and girl on reception gave us room in downstairs, so we need all the time carry the stroller up an down on spiral stairs. i ask to change the room, but she say that everything is busy.
Review 58:+big swimming pool, sauna. downstairs were pool for children, 31 C. + rich breakfast. + nice place, near the sea. with car 10-15min to the city center.
Review 59:The double bed in our room was not very comfortable to sleep in. The carpets need to be renewed - badly.
Review 60:The location is great, and the view of sun setting beyond the sea can be enjoyed from the balcony. The staff is quite helpful, and breakfasts rather good, though not luxurious.
Review 61:Chaos of breakfast. Having to carry heavy luggage up flight of spiral stairs to 3rd floor rooms
Review 62:Location close to the sea. Interesting history as part of Olympic Village. Plenty of facilities/things to do
Review 63:Remembering that the hotel was built for the 1980s Olympic with thatstandard it is not a bad hotel. Instead pretty interesting how thesovjet architechture looked in late 70. Today the hotel is pretty ok, Igot a really good price. The location is out of town, you have to have acar or take a cab.
Review 64:Price
Review 65:At least 40 year old building with equally run down interior , room furniture included, straightly described close to primitive, noisy surounding as cars , trailors drive around from morning 5.a.m until midnight, even along the rooms with " sea view ".
Review 66:Nothing recommendable.
Review 67:No massages treatments possible.
Review 68:The lobby bar/restaurant is good and easy. Location is great and this hotel has interesting Olympic times history behind. Nice yachting and sportive environment around Free parking and easy road access. The yacht club house nearby walking distance is good value for dinner. Good access by public transports. Swimming pool is nice + sauna and hammam - very clean! Good fitness room.
Review 69:in the room: no wifi / no refrigerator / old furniture. The balcony floor is very poor. Staff does not speak Russian.
Review 70:free parking, sea view and excellent sunset, good breakfast
Review 71:Every day we've seen the same homeless who was sleeping on the sofa in second floor and 26th of July at 12am he had sextet with a woman on the same sofa. I was walking with a child to our room and we've seen that.
Review 72:Breakfast was excellent and spa
Review 73:Outdated and humble interior. Missing links with the Olympic sailing and the history of the building. Lack of WiFi coverage in rooms - probably at the same time that it is an asset.
Review 74:Nice location and excellent view of sea from Marine class rooms and restaurant. Friendly staff.
Review 75:The interiour of the rooms could have been more modern. In my opinion furnitures needs renewing. It would definately help to atract more tourists!
Review 76:Staff are brillinant!Very healpful and friendly! The view ona sea is amazing!Great location!
Review 77:Wi-Fi availability is only in the lobby. Resort complex is a little dated. Very noisy hallways ...with children's playroom a little too close to my door.
Review 78:Front desk staff was friendly enough and breakfast offered a lot of options
Review 79:hotel too old and need some renovations. Carpets, walls. Pillows at the room were like almost nothing - couldn't sleep at all because of that. Balconies should be more cleaned. Walls and tales at bathroom change - black mold on the walls.
Review 80:situation is really perfect - not far away from city center and at the same just on the sea, with sea view and brilliant view to the city, specially at evening and night illumination.
Review 81:Soviet era concrete monolith, no basin plug, toiletries etc. Very long walk along featureless corridors
Review 82:If you want to be t the marina, its great; for the Old Town, not.
Review 83:Upon arrival, we had to pull a number and wait over 45 minutes before check in. Our family room was overbooked (according to the receptionist this happens often) so we got a triple room in a basement with no view and no elevator access. Apparently none of the family rooms or triple rooms has elevator access. After we complained we got a twin room, which was rather small for a family of 5. We were promised extra beds and a baby cot, but these never arrived. Our kids therefore slept on camping mats and sleeping bags we happened to have with us.
Review 84:Swimming pool
Review 86:+ Marine-huone tilava, maisematkin parvekkeelta merelle upeat.
Review 87:Awful coffee at breakfast - take Piim (milk) instead Balconies - there is virtually no separator between the parts of the balcony belonging to any two rooms. I would very much like the hotel to install such separators so people wouldn't have to look at others sitting at their balcony or see them while sitting in their rooms and looking at the mirror.
Review 88:Location - very close to the sea Facilities - sauna, swimming pool, wellness etc. Breakfast - lots of food items to pick from (just please don't take the coffee - it's awful) Price
Review 89:Dirty, probably not renovated from 1980, personel not ready to help, no WiFi in the room, famous beach looks like a joke, pavement along the beach ruined. Too far to walk to the city -too close to pay so much for the taxi.
Review 90:Swimming pool. Free parking
Review 91:The location is only for car travelers, the attitude of pool personel is terrible Soviet style reminder.
Review 92:The price for the confort and service is excellent, nice to relaxe in the pool.
Review 93:There is no wifi in room and it was bad surprise for me. I did not check it before booking and that was my mistake ofcourse. But there should be wifi in room also. Hotel is far from center.
Review 94:Room was big and clean. Breakfast is with many dishes. Staff was ok also.
Review 95:Staff (with some exceptions) were surly, offhand and gave me the impression they didn't want me to be there. Hotel had advertised 'free internet services', but internet is only provided in the reception areas, not rooms (my room was 200 metres from the reception area). The whole place looks tired, I don't think anything has been done to it since the complex was built for the yachting events of the 1980 Olympic Games.
Review 96:Overlooking Tallinn Bay from my room and breakfast. Relatively cheap rates, but hotel must be desperate to fill the rooms.
Review 97:The bed was too soft Poor availability of WiFi - only availably in reception, not in rooms or at breakfast. Room is really in need of refurbishment. Carpets in the halls are worn and are covered in stains. Swimming pool and sauna facilities open to public - completely packed with a children's summer camp. Watery coffee at breakfast
Review 98:Great sea views Nice choice of breakfast
Review 99:Had no Wi-Fi
Review 100:Cleanliness, Friendly stuff and great breakfast. Every room has a balcony and this hotel is directly by the sea. You can watch activities in Tallinn harbor from windows.
Review 101:One of the worst beds ever I have slept in. Staff at the front desk not very effective.
Review 102:The view from the room was great to the sea. Value for money was ok.
Review 103:Staff didnt checked written in booking - twin room, at first was given double, later changed. In the room old TV, no internet, old post soviet furniture, old post soviet bathroom, carpets corridor carpets are dirty, brekfast retaurant windows are very dirty and it damaged excellent sea view. Smell in the room and all hotel really recalled soviet hotels. Excellent hotel for whoose want to choose post soviet atmosphere.
Review 104:Parking, excellent sunset, sea view, good breakfast selection
Review 105:The pillow was round and hard as a sack of potatoes and uncomfortable. There was no wi-fi connection in the room, it was available only in the lobby area.
Review 106:The swimming pool and saunas are the great value of the hotel, especially, after a freezing day out. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 107:The hotel should revise breakfast offer - very poor and has not changed a bit during a year. The stuff at reception that speaks good only Estonian language, no good English or Russian at all
Review 108:Receptionist didnt know if they have wifi in hotel rooms. If you are a smoker then you have to walk 200 meters for smoking area because its not allowed to smoke on balconies. furniture is at least 30 years old. And the spa was pointless. 1 swimming pool without any jacuzzy or etc.
Review 109:It was clean and location was good
Review 110:Absolutely NO business hotel. Unfriendly reception staff. It was my own mistake to book. Lobby bar drinks too expensive. No service, therefore no quality for money!
Review 111:Very poor room with nice sea view. Simple breakfast. Restaurant perfect food and service!
Review 112:A La Carte dishes were not very satisfying - next time the preference will be to any different restaurant, even though the desert was fantastic
Review 113:Combination of a hotel and a SPA center with sauna
Review 114:It's big hotel with lots of russians (we had no problems, only mature pairs/families). There is no internet in the room, had to go to the lobby. Pillows are for childs possible (too small and too soft). Blanket is for the summer season also, it's good it was 25C in the room with -3C outside. Only estonian and russian tv, but estonian channels give original language, so most of movies are in english. It's possible to have free Elion wifi in some rooms, but not sure. City center is ~6km, but not a problem with car, could be better possibilities with city transport, taxi stands in front.
Review 115:Breakfast is rich-eggs, pancakes, jogurt, salat, sausages, meatballs etc. We spent 3 days, food was the same, never ending till 10:30. Pool (and sauna/steam bath) included in the price. Free car parking large. Seashore few steps from the doors, with path to the city-can walk or run in summer. Shop is not too far. It's a calm place, old--soviet-stylish from outside.
Review 116:Free WiFi only in public places. Breakfast coffee wasn't what I expected.
Review 117:Excellent breakfast. Free parking place for car. Near sea. Not too far from city centre (with car).
Review 118:There is no wi-fi in rooms at all! Small pillows We had floor in the room in very poor condition (really full of holes)
Review 119:Beautiful sea view ~10 min from old town by car Warm swimming-pool for free Low price
Review 120:I charged my iPhone. I disconnected while fully charged. Later at night, while switched main light near the bed, something blasted!! No lights at all after that. Burnt smell !!, In the morning I found that my iphone charger was gone. Fully black in cable and cable converter !!! I was lucky that there was no mobile connected!!! I have informed to reception and receptionist took photo with my short complain letter. I hope the relented person got this information. Note: I have traveled many European and Asian countries with that charger. Never had problem. It is standard voltage (100-220V). I have bought the best with thick cable which gives sound while full charge. I am wondering how it happened. It is strange! Hotel replied me noting was wrong?? Me and my wife are wondering about hotel reply.
Review 121:Sea side view, Breakfast, Swimming pool, Sauna and steam bath.
Review 122:Distance from reception was a little problem as I do have a slight disability but managed the distance. Too many young females (students of sports academy(I think)) unsupervised and at times a little rowdy hanging around in corridors to and from room
Review 123:Staff very good/excellent.
Review 124:stairs to our room, a little bit hard bed, dressing (when you are going to swimming pool) in the same place with men (too complicated, you cannot go direct to shower!)
Review 125:The salt room, hairdresser, breakfast, pool
Review 126:The hotel is very old!! I had to ask even about shampoo! It was notconvenient to go with my bag upstairs, cause the elevator goes to thesecond floor and then you have to climb! Paying this money (68 euro) youcan find a better place in Tallinn.
Review 127:Breakfast, view from the restaurant
Review 128:Wi-fi was only in the lobby. It was not comfortable to sit in the lobby and have private conversations via skype when other people were sitting there as well.
Review 129:The room was really big enough.
Review 130:There are no wifi in rooms, and in Marine-style room there are shower right on floor...
Review 131:Great view, Baltic sea, great breakfast. Pool with saunas - they not new but very good.
Review 132:The hotel is close to the beach and has a swimming pool, indoor, and sauna. Take a bus which goes app. every 10 min. and within 15 minutes you are in the old city
Review 133:Only one thing - tiny bed pillow / cushion size which was kind of strange....
Review 134:The accommodation was great and the room was well appointed with en suite bathroom. All the staff spoke good English which was a relief when I arrived. The scale of the hotel was impressive and very clean throughout. The whole experience was a pleasant surprise...
Review 135:As low comfort and so dirty hotel I not to see long time... Lobby bar not fresh juices and ice cream - it's very strange when outside so hot. In the room temperature more then 30 and not possibilities change room when is air conditioning. NOT available rooms with air conditioning.
Review 136:Location is perfect
Review 137:breakfast, not everything was fresh. rooms not good equipped, personell not always polite.
Review 138:price, swimmingpool, wellness offert, bar in the lobby had good food and ice service.
Review 139:Ugly area and hotel. Out of the way. Poor food selection (especially if you are vegetarian). Noisy and full of teenagers/kids. Nothing nearby (no shops, no restaurants except for fast food). Miserable, slow, uninterested staff. Pool is not always open.
Review 140:Sea view
Review 141:we have booked double room but received twin room.we asked to change the room but it never has been done so my husband kept landing at night to the flour between two beds during our stay for one week.Balconies are dirty, the building is dirty and needs the renovation. It is difficult to relax during the treatment in the spar because hip hop music is playing .
Review 142:location
Review 143:Had to walk in stairs to reach room. Not a big problem for us, but would be a problem for person in wheelchair or family with pram. Also, it felt like we would be in a very bad spot in case of fire. No aircon / fan in room. Poor service in restaurant. We asked to have spaghetti with meatballs and the answer was "You may order the spaghetti carbonara and the meatballs with french fries". This was in a near empty restaurant where you would think the chef would be happy to get a custom (uncomplicated) order outside the set menu. There was free wifi in the lobby, but it was not password protected, thus unsafe to use.
Review 144:The architecture. The location by the sea and close to Tallinn city centre. The indoors pool.
Review 145:No aircon, summer time room becames worm. no wi-fi in room, but there is in public places. 10 euros to old town with taxi.
Review 146:Breakfest, have a shop downstairs where you can buy Talin card, and one of tour buses stops in front of hotel.(first one leaves aruond 11.30).free parking. Rooms good value for money.Nice sandy beach 15 min walk.
