Reviews for El Patio
Review 1:The beds could be a little more comfortable.
Review 2:The rooms had personality, but the location and the price were unbeatable. The owner, Padua, though is the best part of our entire experience. He is more than the typical amicable and helpful. And he seemed genuinely upset when we didn't point out an issue he later discovered on his own. He gave us a free bottle of wine! I would absolutely book with Padua again.
Review 3:No bad experience with the hotel, just a note of caution about driving in Arcos. Don't do it! The streets in the old town are very narrow, winding and complicated. Park your car at the public parking at Plaza Espana and walk. It is an uphill walk but not terribly far and preferable to scraping the paint off your rental car.
Review 4:The owner, Padua is friendly and very accommodating. The hotel is comfortable and breakfast was included. Our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed Padua's artwork on display and bought a pencil sketch of a street scene. I would stay here again without hesitation.
Review 5:DO NOT drive up to the cathedral.
Review 6:The hotel is quiet. The room is close to the most beautiful view from the cathedral, you can enjoy the view of the white town and from cliff. You could go down to the center of the town and have good food there.
Review 7:It would be unfair to complain at the price, but expect hard beds, small towels, & over bath shower.
Review 8:An excellent position in the old town, very close to the Cathedral Square & mirador, lots to see & places to eat. A very helpful owner.
Review 9:Great hotel in the centre of Arcos de la Frontera! Great value and wonderful service. Also, great views of the city. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Review 10:The parking is ridiculous and driving around the streets is risking an almost sure scratch. My recommendation park in the parking lot at the entrance of the town.
Review 11:The hostel is in the center of the old town, so the view from the rooms and the walking around are amazing. It is very comfortable
Review 12:The location is right at the top of the town, next to the church. The roads up and down are VERY narrow, and quite a hair-raising experience.
Review 13:Terrific value for money.
Review 14:Having to climb up the hill to the hotel after parking the car in the parking downtown.
Review 15:The service offered by the owner. He offers much more than you would expect for the price. If you are an independent traveller you might find this overbearing, otherwise enjoy his hospitality and assistance.
Review 16:None
Review 17:The host Antonio de Padua was a saint ( had to get that in ) very attentive and helpful room better than you would expect for the price. Breakfast quite good and the location was right heart of the old town. Recommended for the budget traveller
Review 18:A very helpful owner who gave us plenty of valuable tips on dining, navigating the streets, etc. Very centrally located and comfortable. Our favourite village in Andalucia.
Review 19:- Impossible to park for free near by
Review 20:- Very welcoming and kind staff - Quiet and clean room with air con - Simple but good breakfast - Location at the top of the hill in the historical center of the town
Review 21:The drunk in the square first thing in the morning. The town wide failure of wi-fi on the second day.
Review 22:The atmospbihere and the convenience of the excellent eating options.
Review 23:We enjoyed our stay at this great hill top location but keep in mind that if either not walkIng or taking a cab you are only going to make it in a small car.
Review 24:The staff was extremely friendly. The hostal provided really good value for money. Our stay was really nice and relaxing. Definatelly would recomend to a friend.
Review 25:El Patio is in a strict center of Arcos, next to the bigget parkingplace near the castle. The Host is more than friendly, serving water for free and recommending some very good places to eat. There is an AC in the room as well as the convestor which is important in December.
Review 26:The property is in the heart of the tourist attractions - so its a tough climb uphill from the bus station with luggage. Preferably take the taxi or wait for the local bus which stops at the property.
Review 27:Very helpful host. Cute rooms. Close proximity to all tourist attractions. Great breakfast. Dining options are close by.
Review 28:Although the breakfast came with the room, I would have preferred more choices and a breakfast which was healthier. I would have paid for the upgrade. However, I was pleased with the coffee and the fact that it was a perk with the room.
Review 29:Excellent location. Antonio was very knowledgeable and helpful in terms of where to eat. Room was very clean, functional and exactly what I wanted--no frills and inexpensive---quiet with character.
Review 30:Breakfast very basic - coffee, bap and cold meat. No cereal :(
Review 31:Good location Cheap
Review 32:Nothing

Review 49:All good
Review 50:The location was great; the room was comfortable and well decorated; the private patio overlooking Arco was a highlight
Review 51:Nothing.
Review 52:Great location in center of old town, the rooms are clean and cosy but the best is owner Antonio who makes everything that you have nice time in Arcos !
Review 53:Perhaps that what hostel means, but surprised there was no maid service in our room. Bedroom spartan, no chair to sit on (only the bed) and my room in the family apt. Had no window with natural light.
Review 54:The delightful, ever helpful manager. He went way beyond necessity in helping us, always with a smile.
Review 55:When we arrived to the hostal the onwer offered us three a bottle free water each. This was very good since we arrived on motorcycles. Place was on a good location and we got pretty good hints what to see.
Review 56:Actually, we really liked everything about this place - wonderful host, Antonio, who greeted us very warmly, with bottles of cold water (the day was extremely hot, so we were grateful), helped out with parking (we visited during the Semana Santa, so we couldn't park at the intended place, but he generously covered the difference between expenses of public - vs his - parking for us). The place is very cozy, spotlessly clean, and perfectly located - just around the corner from the main square of the old city.
Review 57:As cyclists we like an early start to the day and find a Kate breakfast am inconvenience.
Review 58:We enjoyed having a patio with a view and being very centrally located in the old part of town. Breakfast as included which was a bonus and made the stay very good value, Anthony was welcomingand helpful host.
Review 59:Parking difficult, park in the lower town and walk up to the hotel.
Review 60:Excellent value and Antonio the owner was very helpful and friendly. Centre of old town.
Review 61:The sofa beds in our 4-person suite were really uncomfortable. I'd recommend other rooms in the hotel even without seeing them, since the service was excellent and everything was spotlessly clean, but I wouldn't feel comfortable booking a suite for 4 again unless I knew those sofas had been updated.
Review 62:The hotel's central location made for really convenient sightseeing (even if getting there by car through the historic center wasn't easy on the nerves). As other reviewers have noted, Antonio (the owner) is friendly and really helpful. The restaurant was also a highlight -- try the lomo!
Review 63:Such a friendly guy in charge - really helpful - lugged my heavy bike into a parking spot in his restaurant then carted all my bags up the stairs! He made sure we had everything we needed - even gave us bottles of water for our room & the paintings on the wall were done by him, so he has lots of talents!
Review 64:Not able to park car (but there is virtually nowhere to park in the historic part of the town)
Review 65:Location in the historic part of the town Small rustic hotel
Review 66:Antonio, the very friendly owner was very informative and helpful, and provided a very substantial, typical Andalucian breakfast. Muchas Gracias, Antonio, y hasta la proxima vez !
Review 67:The best views from the room, very spacious. Friendly owner who makes a lovely dinner in the evening - very highly recommended!
Review 68:Very friendly stuff, in the middle of the old town.
Review 69:In a perfect position, close to all the sights. Antonio very helpful;breakfast very good; room had a great view over open countryside.
Review 70:Location, Location, Location.
Review 71:Very centrally located. Friendly staff, Nice little cafeteria in basement.
Review 72:Nothing was amiss.
Review 73:Great place for us located right in the centre of town.
Review 74:Loved the village and our stay was made all that much better by Antonio's attentive service and fantastic food.
Review 75:Very friendly and helpful staff, gave us a lot of practical advice and information about the place.
