Reviews for Hotel Mediterrani

Review 1:Noise from electrical motor a bit intrusive. Not sure if it came from the lift, other bathroom fans or a generator.

Review 2:Location, helpful attitude of staff and the general cleanliness. Would love to stay again especially if we could reserve a sea view room.

Review 3:The location! The view! Absolutely amazing. Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations. I would recommend booking a room with a view - it's very easy to while away hours staring out to sea. Thank-you Mediterrani - you made our dream holiday, perfect.

Review 4:All the staff are very friendly and accommodating. There is a slight language barrier at times but it is not a real problem, you can make yourself understood quite easily. The rooms are excellent quality & value. The buffet style breakfast has a wide variety of choices. It is easy to relax inside or outside on the terrace overlooking the beach. This was our second visit to the Mediterrani and we will be returning in the future.

Review 5:Hotel was in the perfect location - facing the best beach in town, only 2 minutes walk to all the restaurants and yet in a quiet spot as no road going past. We upgraded to a sea view with balcony room 204 which made our stay extra special. Room was a really good size and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and the hotel was spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet had every combination you could possibly want and all good quality. A great all rounder mid-range hotel.

Review 6:The hotel was amazing , beautiful location, everything was within walking distance, cleanliness outstanding as were the staff , nothing too much trouble , will definitely be returning

Review 7:Slight mix up with a room key but other than that perfect.

Review 8:An excellent hotel. Perfectly located. Great staff, facilities, rooms and breakfast. A real find I would definitely recommend this and want to return!

Review 9:We stayed here with family only to discover their rooms were almost double the size of ours while we all paid the same rate. Double room on first floor was very cramped for a couple with hardly any floor space. This put a dampener on our stay in an otherwise lovely hotel.

Review 10:Breakfast was excellent, comfy bed and reasonable wifi. We enjoyed sitting outside the hotel with a drink enjoying the amazing sea views.

Review 11:Excellent location and fabulous breakfast choices. Appreciated that room was available earller than regular check in time. good that luggage was able to be stored after checking out. look forward to returning in the future and would recommend to friends and family.

Review 12:Bit pricier than other places in the region, but probably worth it for the location and quality of accommodation. We didn't have a sea view, but the terrace was still useful for sitting out and drying beach wear.

Review 13:Great location in a lovely coastal town. Beds were very comfortable, and bathroom done up to a high standard. All very clean. Breakfast had a good selection - warm and cold, sweet and savory. All very tasty.

Review 14:It took us some time to find the hotel (lots of one-way streets!), but it was really worth the search!

Review 15:Very helpful and friendly staff. Location excellent, near beach and lots of restaurants. Very clean room.

Review 16:Wifi a bit of a hit and miss

Review 17:Staff are extremely friendly and helpful - they went out of their way to accommodate us in a sea view room which had the most breathtaking view. Rooms have been recently refurbished and are modern and stylish and very comfortable.

Review 18:Excessive car parking charges, think this should have free to guests, or a nominal charge. €17 per day was crazy! More storage in room, only had the wardrobe to pile everything in. The look of the room was minimal but was spoilt with all the clutter that one takes on holiday.

Review 19:Comfort and style of hotel, helpful pleasant staff. Very clean rooms including public rooms,Updated the decor but retained some of the original features which was a nice touch.

Review 20:No fridge but not a big deal. Bar areas inside and out could be more interesting to encourage a visit - especially as they are a little more costly than bars down the road.

Review 21:Great location for a relaxing break. We stayed in rear view room for a couple of nights on a busy weekend in late June and room was fair but nothing special - a little dark. We were able to upgrade to a seaview room for the next three nights and the difference was really worth it - brighter, bigger and better laid out. Waking to a view of the sea and blue sky each morning just makes you feel so relaxed and spoilt - it was worth the extra. Service was professional with an independent flavour - staff courteous and striving to please but not overly familiar. Breakfast was really good. The resort is central for walking or driving out to visit other smaller towns/sights and it has enough restaurants and bars to offer good choice - also live music and fireworks when we were visiting. Tamariu worth a visit for nicer beach - weekends busy but too small for long stay.

Review 22:Leaving!

Review 23:Everything was perfect! Gorgeous old character hotel in the best location in town. The front rooms overlooking the beach were wonderful... Well worth the extra money. Breakfast was amazing, huge selection of choices and just lovely sitting overlooking the ocean. Staff were friendly and helpful . Can't wait to come back

Review 24:None

Review 25:Marvellous location overlooking the bay, with spotless room, and excellent breakfasts in a sea view dining room. The staff were friendly, helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. We shall return.

Review 26:No bad experiences at all but it would be nice if they provided a small refrigerator in the room.

Review 27:Very professional and friendly staff at all times. Excellent level of cleanliness and comfort and very good value for money. Enjoyed a room with a sea view - spectacular views.

Review 28:A fridge would have been nice.

Review 29:Amazing views from our very pleasant bedroom. Cheerful staff, good breakfast. Perfect location. Free parking a minute away but charges over high Summer.

Review 30:No fridge in the room. Other than this it was perfect!

Review 31:50 steps to the beach. Great food and drink near by. Wonderful walking tracks and ridiculously good views!

Review 32:The staff are really friendly and helpful, the location is perfect, breakfast is plentiful, the rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable and all for a very reasonable price!

Review 33:Nothing bad to say about our stay.

Review 34:This was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. superb location, comfortable, spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast, but most of all I appreciated the warmth and friendliness of the staff, who welcomed us in English, and seemed genuinely concerned for our welfare. The car park is very convenient, a shaded area at the back of the hotel - a tip for new arrivals, you have to follow the signs for the tourist office, and continue down into what seems a pedestrian area, then you will see a sign for the hotel indicating a right turn.

Review 35:There are no meal facilities after breakfast. As with all continental hotels there is no water-heating facility to make your own drinks. (But I do understand why!!)

Review 36:Staff very friendly & helpful. Large bedroom & bathroom - standard of cleanliness was very high. Good continental self-service breakfast. Bar open until midnight so you could have a nightcap after a meal out. Pleasant balcony to sit on, even if not a seaview at rear of hotel. Air conditioning system worked!

Review 37:Having to leave this little piece of heaven.

Review 38:Absolutely everything. The hotel was spotless with friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent, so much choice. The location of the hotel facing the seafront was the jewel in the crown. Looking out at the fabulous sandy cove, clear blue sea and yachts anchored in the bay. The village was one of the cleanest and prettiest I have visited with plenty of shops and restaurants. Will certainly be on our list to return.

Review 39:The rooms are small and some noise issues from late night corridor trafic.

Review 40:The staff are very helpful and language was not a problem It is in a very good location and offers great views. Very well maintained and spotless rooms.

Review 41:Nothing against it in our case but if you were travelling around by car parking arrangements are not ideal.

Review 42:Its location above the beach and its proximity to some good quality great value restaurants within easy walking distance

Review 43:Quite small shower and bathroom

Review 44:Kindness and helpfulness of staf Location perfect Peaceful and quiet Very good buffet breakfast Lovely little beach before hotel Delicious Seafood in restaurants nearby

Review 45:Couldn't fault the hotel.

Review 46:View at breakfast overlooking the sea. rooms were a good size. View from my balcony in the evening caught the evening sun and beautiful sunsets. Spotlessly clean everywhere throughout hotel. great choice at breakfast.

Review 47:Complex one way system around hotel, difficult to navigate first time, watch out for and follow the signs for the hotel, you can drive along the front to unload. Hotel parking opposite the hotel 15 Euros per day! Lots of steps down to the beaches.

Review 48:Very friendly and helpful staff, nice clean rooms with ceiling fans and air con. Nice 20 min walk round the headland to LLafranc. Callela is a lively little holiday centre.

Review 49:Would have liked tea and coffee making small kettle, 2 cups etc plus a small fridge in the room. The hanging space in the wardrobe was short so any long sundresses I hung outside of the wardrobe! The hangers had no indents to hook any "slithery" clothes so it was a bit of a juggle to keep a few such clothes on the hangers. Although conveniently near , the booked hotels 24 hour car parking was expensive and there was not a quick system to get re admitted/access each time we returned from a trip out. We had to physically leave the car down the narrow and used side street and run in to the very obliging staff to trouble them to come & open it every time. We felt there must be an easier system than this, especially as we were paying about 14 Euros a day. Could there not be a list of registration numbers of the paying cars clearly on view and the owners be issued with an access key ,paying a heavy deposit for it at the start of the holiday which would be returned at the end of the stay?Any abuse of the system would lead to car clamping of unauthorised car/ loss of deposit??? Just an idea??? Over all these are small quibbles. The important things were excellent and we had a wonderful 9 day stay.

Review 50:The staff were all so friendly, thoughtful & helpful, especially Andrea on the front desk. Our second floor sea view room had the most dreamy view of the crystal clear sea which sparkled with sunshine during the day and moonlight by night. The breakfasts were something we looked forward to every morning and relished. The location was great to walk a few steps to the sea , or a leisurely wander along the far stretching and scenic coastal walk or to go a very short distance to an attractive sea front restaurant or ice cream parlour. We will have fond memories of lounging on our comfortable bed with the patio/balcony glass doors wide open , hearing the soft waves rolling in and out and admiring the far off passing boats as they sailed in the sea. Blue skies, comfortable hotel and total relaxation. Thank you Hotel Meditterani! We will be back.

Review 51:very friendly and helpful staff in a hotel that could hardly be better placed for a relaxing beach holiday in a small and well-looked after seaside town.

Review 52:we would have liked a kettle in the room, and one of those shampoo and soap pumps in the shower would create less waste.

Review 53:This hotel is perfectly situated at the quiet end near some great coves. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast had a great variety and views, and the beds super comfortable. The hotel has been tastefully updated - modern with retro and cottage flare, and a few vintage accents.

Review 54:no fridge or hot water jug

Review 55:the location very good great plave tp walk

Review 56:Lovely, friendly hotel in good location in picturesque area. Breakfast had a very good choice and served over looking the sea.

Review 96:Nothing

Review 97:Everything

Review 98:I would be surprised if anyone could find fault with this place .

Review 99:A lovely hotel in a beautiful area . The staff were friendly and helpful . The room was pleasant and well appointed . We walked for 'miles' along the sea front which had a designated board walk . We were travelling around Spain and I wish now that we had stayed longer . Would love to return .

Review 100:Couldn't stay longer

Review 101:How much time do I have to rave about this place. We changed our plans at the last minute and included Mediterrani in place of Toulouse. Ok, so it has 2 stars, but don't be fooled by this because every single facet of the hotel and its staff is excellent beyond belief. As for the location, well who could want anything more than being literally 10 metres from one of the most picturesque beaches we have ever seen. Luis, the Andrea's and everyone here was just the best and frankly if you are visiting the Costa Brava, you will be doing yourselves a disservice if you don't put this place on your itinerary. The Village is spectacular and the experience was just what we needed after three weeks of street-walking in France and Barcelona, leaving us refreshed for the long trip home.

Review 102:Absolutely beautiful location. The staff was wonderful and helpful, and our room was spotless. It was clean and the breakfast buffet had a great selection. If we ever make it back to the Costa Brava area this would be where we stay!

Review 103:Limited public areas and effectively no outdoor space. If you get room at the back it had limited outlook. Even though we thought it was already expensive for a hotel of this quality, we asked about paying more for a room at the front looking out to sea, but we're told not possible.

Review 104:Great location, directly by the seafront.

Review 105:very minor but needed a new wifi code each day.

Review 106:Very charming and helpful staff, gave us upgrade for larger room with bath and bigger terrace at no extra charge. Excellent breakfast buffet.

Review 107:The gps unfortunately kept trying to take us to the front of the hotel which is pedestrianised so we wasted half an hour before finally finding the back entrance where we could park. Might be a good idea to feature both addresses for those arriving with cars.

Review 108:The staff were particularly helpful. The breakfast was excellent.

Review 109:Whilst the bedroom furniture was contemporary and clean, there was a lack of drawer space.

Review 110:Excellent staff - all very helpful & friendly; very good room with sea view & balcony; room very comfortable & very clean especially the bathroom; very good breakfast including local specialities. Great location - very close to the sea & beach. Safe in the room was very welcomed.

Review 111:We had to pay extra for a seaview room as we couldn't do that with you.It made the room a lot more expensive. We also had to pay to use the hotel car park.

Review 112:the staff were very friendly. We had a sea view room which we would definitely recommend. The breakfasts were very good.Good location.

Review 113:no grounds for guests to sit in. Busy pulic walkway right in front of hotel. Beach down below hotel packed at all times. expensive parking and no other option to park anywhere else.

Review 114:exceptional staff, very friendly and helpful, the hotel is in the heart of the village by the sea with very spacious rooms. Fantastic view of sea at breakfast

Review 115:The owner seemed by far the most friendly and helpful of the staff. We would have loved a mini fridge to keep drinks cold. View so fab we would have happily stayed on balcony to eat

Review 116:Although hotel looks old from outside it has been modernised and updated inside but still keeping the character. The adjoining rooms we had were very clean and comfortable. The view was spectacular- took my breath away!

Review 117:The dining room. It would have been better if the windows had been open and the tablecloths hadn't been plastic. Felt institutionalised. The room I was given first was like a cell with the window inches away from a wall. It wasn't until I went to reception to say I would be checking out, that there was suddenly another room offered, albeit overlooking the back street but it did have a balcony. I had exchanged several emails with the hotel saying I had a cooking school in Morocco and was coming to have some fabulous regional food but when I arrived there were no suggestions or recognition as to who I was. It was a shame that more hadn't been made of the setting, there was no outdoor dining just plastic chairs to have a drink or coffee. I'm sure if I'd had a sea view room, it could have been a swell stay. I was ready to not stay when shown the first room and the second one which I did stay in, fell far short of what I'd expected.

Review 118:The position above the bay. The gentleman in reception who found me a chair to take to the beach. Breakfast was divine apart from the setting. Bed linen gorgeous. .

Review 119:the amount charged for a sea view room , parking facilities

Review 120:location , cleanliness , quality of breakfast , friendliness of staff , quality of room and bathroom , the decor in public areas , the art and photographs in public areas

Review 121:No tea or coffee facilities in room or fridge

Review 122:The Staff were brilliant very helpful and friendly and the hotel was kept spotlessly clean and free wi-fi everywhere.
