Reviews for Hotel Maestre

Review 1:GPS might send you up one way streets to get to hotel. Some very narrow streets... The bed cusions were pretty dirty.. The Windows looked out over a court yard into other rooms so they had to be closed with no natural light.

Review 2:Great location with car parking.

Review 3:The only thing that could have made this stay better was a nicer bed, it was not the most comfortable to sleep on.

Review 4:We felt that this hotel was great all-around! It is in a perfect location for walking all over the city and a has a beautiful old, Spanish -style interior. Very friendly reception who were always smiling and helpful. Good breakfast for 5€ :)

Review 5:The rooms didn't feel that clean, and it was hard to keep warm with a small space heater.

Review 6:The location was excellent, staff were very nice, and the facility had interesting character.

Review 7:Stayed in a single room - hotel very good value for money at time of year. Easy to find by public transport and well sited for city's major monuments. Plenty of places to eat and drink nearby.

Review 8:I do suggest the hotel better not provide blanket as it's not easy to clean frequently. I feel it's a bit dirty.

Review 9:location and the breakfast is ok.

Review 10:nothing

Review 11:1.Location: 5 minute walk to the Mezquita and Roman bridge 2. Rooms are spacious and clean 3. staff were professional, friendly and helpful 4. wifi is really fast

Review 12:Because our room opened out onto the street, we needed to close the windows and shutters and run the air-conditioning which didn't cool the room adequately.

Review 13:Excellent convenient location very close to the old town and all tourist attractions. Tasteful decor, pleasant rooms.

Review 14:Unfortunately the rooms look much poorer than the other parts, very small, with really narrow beds. People wrote above about the smell - yes, the smell is awfull, and yes, it feels like the smell of poverty.. I think these rooms used to be or still are smoking ones. And to to cover the smoke they use some odorants or other chemicals which together make it a disaster.

Review 15:Location is just great, and the building itself is authentic, really amazing, with beautiful patio, tasteful elements of design. Spacious, clean, nice bathroom. I had a room overlooking the patio and it was very quiet. The staff are very friendly and helpful, speaking good English. Anyway, it's a very nice place, and taking in account the price..;))

Review 16:We are three people in a three single bed room on the ground floor, which is quite small and quite dark. For similar price, we were able to book spacious apartment in other cities/towns during our trip in Spain.

Review 17:Nice patio. Good WIFI connection. Friendly staff.

Review 18:No downsides!

Review 19:Excellent location, spotless hotel, comfortable beds, great bathroom, terrific staff, very nice breakfast for 5 Euro. Located a few steps from Plaza del Potro, and walking distance to la Mezquita. Great bargain, great place!

Review 20:Needs better breakfast new bedspreads and good directions the street sign faces away from the street direction

Review 21:Quiet close to everything very nice receptionist good water pressure Comfortable bed

Review 22:Noisy street and and an permanent detergent smell in our room.

Review 23:Centrally located hotel in the center of Cordoba. Perfect for a short trip to see the Mezquita and old town.

Review 24:It was slightly difficult to get there using "HERE" offline navigator, but ultimately we found very simple way to the hotel - use the map on the hotel's site!

Review 25:1. Parking 2. Location (all attractions in 10-15 minutes of walking) 3. All facilities and conveniences are in good condition

Review 26:Great location, authentic Cordoban patios, not the Ritz but fantastic hotel for weekend break. Staff friendly gave advice on places to see things to do. Pop next door for breakfast we loved it ..no problems parking :)

Review 27:Nice to have parking on site but it was very hard to maneuver in and out of the garage as well as the parking space.

Review 28:Excellent location for seeing the Mesquite, Roman bridge; quiet street; average room and bath.

Review 29:There is an underground parking, but the places are very small and not easy to reach

Review 30:Quiet place, nice room, well placed in the center of Cordoba, places of interest can be easilyreached on foot

Review 31:Very thin walls, and ceilings, lot of noise from other rooms both above and to each side which disturbed sleep. Could also hear all the plumbing noise whenever someone used the toilet or shower, guess that is the pitfall of an old and charming building!

Review 32:Convenient Distance to main sites, river and local bars. Good double glazing for outside noise. Free use of safe. No fridge, but could purchase a cold litre bottle of water from reception for just one euro. Very pretty internal patio area.

Review 33:Nothing to mention

Review 34:Very helpfull staff. Free parking in front of the hotel and also private pay parking at the hotel available. Large apartment with self catering facility Very close to Juderia and Mesquita- 5 minute walk

Review 35:Great location. Within easy walking distance of old part of town and the mosque. Hotel has some free on road parking and inexpensive covered parking. Good, friendly service.

Review 36:Our room was not ready at time of check in. We didn't like the breakfast in the hostel location. They do not clean the tables. They just put away the dishes and the tables stay dirty with marks of juice and bread crumbs.

Review 37:Staff was very friendly. Good wifi Nice patio. A/C worked nicely. Good location!!!!!!!!

Review 38:There were no luggage rack in my room.

Review 39:The best accommodation during my travel over Andalucia, more than one star. My room was bright, cosy and clean. Very good location. I defenitely recommend this hotel.

Review 40:When we arrived the hostess was busy with chatting with her friends and made sure to check us in in span of 2-3 minutes without any additional information about breakfast or the city itself. The shower wasn't cleaned properly and there were still hair inside. When we tried to reach out to the reception to inform them about this deficiency, nobody was there. The AC was very noisy and kept us from sleeping properly during the night.

Review 41:The location of this hotel is superb – you can cover the entire city center by walk from there.

Review 42:What a lovely place full of so friendly people. Location perfect, ideal parking. Everyone spoke English. Everyone was smiling. Lovely decorations, just felt perfect! We bought breakfast and it was really good!

Review 43:Great location, very easy walk to old town with all it's wonderful sights and places to visit. The staff were extremely helpful. Room and bathroom facilities were all excellent. Cleanliness and room servicing were faultless. Free wifi and 5 euro breakfast a real bonus. On site underground parking extremely good.

Review 44:Entrance and exit to car park very tight, eating breakfast in small room next to kitchen very hot should have used the lovely cool courtyards

Review 45:Location, very quaint courtyards, breakfast was OK, price excellent

Review 46:The location is perfect you will not need a bus, all the facilities are available, towels, refrigirator, air conditioner, microwave, oven, and wi fi, etc...

Review 47:Perfect location close to the river and main attractions of the historic city. The car park was easy to access and the staff very helpful. Rooms were clean and the air con worked ok.

Review 48:Driving there and entering the garage with a big car is quite tricky

Review 49:The rooms are located in a traditional Spanish-Andalucian building with a beautiful inner yard. The size of the rooms is great with a small kitchen included. The furnishing was OK.

Review 50:Single room was a little on the small side.

Review 51:Excellent location. Nice central courtyard / patio to sit during the day or evening. Good wifi. Really great value and much better than you would expect from a one-star place

Review 52:The buffet breakfast was adequate but the quality wasn't as good as other places I've stayed.

Review 53:The hotel is located in a quiet street about 10-15 minutes from the Mezquita. Comfortable facilities but breakfast was in their hostal a few steps down the same street rather than in the hotel itself.

Review 54:The hotel says that it has parking. I asked booking.com to confirm this months before we traveled as I would have a hire car. Soon before we traveled I was advised that the hotel would not guarantee this. I think this is false advertising. It meant I had to arrive earlier than I wanted to, especially as there was a festival on in town and the nearest parking is some way from the hotel. So be warned. The hotel says that parking is available when it may not be.

Review 55:Great location, good shower, not very good breakfast, nice sitting areas, excellent value. We stayed there before and would stay there again.

Review 56:Everything was perfect, beautiful reception area, great room, great advice, located on a very quiet cul-de-sac right in the middle of things, plus free parking. And I don't quite know how, but I got a very low price for my room, which made the above all the more exceptional.

Review 57:Good location for an overnight stay in Cordoba to visit the Mezquita and Alcazar and its beautiful gardens, with easy access for eating around the corner in the Plaza del Potro.

Review 58:The parking was full thus we had to park 20-25 mins walk form the hotel. I would say the hotel is very basic, nothing that i can remember of.

Review 59:Location and friendly staff.

Review 60:None.

Review 61:Central location, accommodating and helpful receptionist, very strong WiFi connectivity, clean room, refreshing courtyard, elevator, reasonably-prized breakfast, homey reception and lounge area, free luggage storage after check-out.

Review 62:Did not know of parking charge until check-out. I don't know that it would have made a difference but it would have been nice to know before hand.

Review 63:Excellent location.

Review 64:Driving to the Hotel was a nightmare! tried but finally took advice from previous reviews and parked across the river and walked to the Hotel.

Review 65:Location was very good.

Review 66:The location was best, the rooms were absolutely spotless and value for money - marble bathrooms and towels with embroidered initials, nice room. The patio of the hotel was very characteristic of Cordoba. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment. I can definitely recommend.

Review 67:Cleaners made a real racket early ithe morning. Not impressed.

Review 68:The location is great. This is an elegant hotel. Good bars can be found nearby and everything you need to see in Cordoba is within walking distance.

Review 69:The Car Park. Do not try and enter without help of hotel staff!

Review 70:Location was perfect for visiting Old Town, all the little courtyards. Staff extremely helpful, room larger than I expected for single occupant

Review 71:The hotel smelled strongly of mosquito repellent. I doubt they have a mosquito problem, rather it was probably the detergent the cleaners use for the floors.

Review 72:Breakfast included bacon and sausages, a rarity for a budget hotel. Great location.

Review 73:Good location in the old part of town & we could walk everywhere. Large roomy apartment with good kitchen facilities. Parking available also a bonus.

Review 74:Not easy to find. Historical part of Cordoba is full of little streets, however, hotel signs very helpful in the end.

Review 75:That car park was available. Very important. WiFi in bedroom also important. Beds extremely comfortable. Did not have breakfast because wanted to eat at various outlets in this old part of Cordoba. Recommended by a friend and will use it again.

Review 76:It could be cleaner. Breakfast was bad but cheap.

Review 77:Very good location. We had an apartment, so there was a kitchenette. Good parking. Very nice and helpful stuff

Review 78:no fire or sound rating between rooms, we also had to walk up to the Hostel for breakfast, which was very limited in its variety

Review 79:walking distance to all major tourist features in Cordoba

Review 80:nothing.

Review 81:The location of the hotel was the selling point for us, the excellent value for money was an added bonus, we would have no hesitation on returning or recommending this hotel.

Review 82:Good value for money and friendly staff! The hotel has a car park which is a huge plus parking is difficult to find in Cordoba. The hotel is walking distance from the main sights.

Review 83:no air conditioning

Review 84:Helpful, welcoming owners. Located in old town. Tastefully decorated and immacuately clean. Parking on site. Breakfast served in a beautiful dining room.

Review 85:Nothing

Review 86:Located close to all tge sights. Easy to park south of the river with no oarking fees and a few minutes walk to tge hotel or use hotel's parking. Clean and pretty with rooms around courtyards. Comfy bed and helpful staff.

Review 87:ThIs one star accommodation excels the 3 star ones we stayed in. Only difference, no fridge but was the only one that had a water cooler.

Review 88:Absolutely everything! We smelt the cleanliness, very stylish, great staff, breakfast, exceptional value, brilliant location. Had a car but squeezed it in and out of the carpark!

Review 89:Unfortunately our bathroom & hence bedroom smelt very badly of drains, which was off putting. Due to the location we didn't have the best nights sleep- the square was very noisy all night so we needed to close the windows, which made the smell in the room even worse.

Review 90:Brilliant location- out door opened out onto the beautiful plaza del potro, which was wonderful. The beds were really comfortable & breakfast was great.

Review 91:Just what the pictures say in booking.com: A nice, quiet, old fashioned andalucian hotel around a nice courtyard. Everything well functioning incl. the Wifi. Breakfast (5 euro) OK. Lies very near the Mesquita-complex. A lotf restaurants and bars nearby. IF with train: take a taxi, har to find. The staff is very nice (and english speaking).

Review 92:Nothing at all.

Review 93:We stayed at the Maestre for 4 nights, facing onto an inner groundfloor courtyard. Good sized room and bathroom. Breakfast was next door but one at the Hostal Maestre and was also good. This hotel was equal to the other 3*/4* hotels we stayed in during this trip. Exceptionally clean.

Review 94:This hotel is in a great location and has a charming appearance with lovely courtyards. Unfortunate the rooms are disappointing - need refurbishment, particularly bathroom which we found flooded after every shower. Parking is a plus if traveling with a car.

Review 95:Who knows Spain, understand :) Windows in our apartments faced small street, so sleeping was almost quiet. Location good - a bit aside from the heart of centre, so restaurants and tapas are not so busy, a bit cheaper and looks more local, less turistic - exactly what we love

Review 96:It was a bit noisy in the evening and sometimes during the night but as the hotel is situated in the centre, we were totally ready for it.

Review 97:The hotel is located in the centre close to the Roman bridge and La Mezquita so it took some 5 minutes to get there. The apartment windows had tiny balconies and look upon a street with orange trees and an old tower. Our apartment looked better than in the photos provided by the hotel and was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was not big but absolutely ok. The hotel looks a bit like labyrinth (as the building is of the XIXth century) and consists of a couple of buildings (breakfast room is in another house) separated by a patio. There are some tapas-bars in the neighboring houses. We booked a parking place in advance so we got it in the underground garage in the same building (it costs 10 euro per day). Wifi-connection was perfect.

Review 98:Breakfast in sister Hostal Maestre poor quality. Better deal in local cafe just down the street. Bathroom partially modernized but still had a rather stained, if clean bath and old fashioned shower curtain.

Review 99:Close to all sites, private parking, albeit a bit taxing for today's larger cars, but good value at 10 euros per day. Very nice room in a very pleasant hotel, quiet little street.

Review 100:At night could hear loud obnoxious couple and on the other side someone coughing. Not their fault but being the walls so thin, we couldn't sleep well.

Review 101:Great location, staff was very helpful, good breakfast buffet, nice room.

Review 102:we reserved a triple room but at the arrival they gave us an apartment room. the air in that room was awful that we were all sneezing after opening the door. but fortunately we had our room changed right away as we talked to the stuff.

Review 103:stuff so nice

Review 104:The staff aren't exactly helpful. Check-in was slow. They asked for my passport and asked me to leave my passport at the front desk and only to get it back after 10 mins (I am quite uncomfortable with this given the importance of that little booklet). Despite that booking.com said the hotel has already charged me on my credit card upon booking, the hotel staff rudely asked me to pay again when I was checking out. Even though I explained that I have paid online via my credit card, they insisted that I would have to pay again in cash. According to them, it turned out that they had not charged me on my credit card upon my booking and it is their usual practice to only charge when the guest appears in person (which I could verify only when I received my credit card bill). I was deeply upset by this. If it is in fact the hotel's policy to charge guests in person, then they shouldn't have stated on the website that payment would be charged at the time of booking. It only confuses people. Moreover, the staff was really insistent and rude to me during that whole negotiation. A bad ending to my trip in Cordoba.

Review 105:The building is well-decorated with an open garden. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Strong air-con and wifi

Review 106:- lack of fridge, especially in summer - noise from the san fernando street

Review 107:- location - it is near all the important historical and cultural sights in the old town - excellent bus connection with the renfe and estacion de autobuses - the neighbourhood is lovely - size of the room - cleanness - wi-fi possibility

Review 108:Do not even think of finding this hotel with your car. Better to park the car not far from the historical zone and the take a taxi.

Review 109:Staff very helpful and professional. Loved the location as you could wal easily to all the significant historical sites as well as restaurants.

Review 110:Nothing.

Review 111:Friendly and helpful staff. Great ambience with a relax atmosphere and spotlessly clean throughout. Single room was well furnished with an excellent en-suite bathroom Perfect location for looking round Cordoba. Good value for money too. Highly recommended.

Review 112:wifi is not good in room

Review 113:location, location, location... room is of large size, cooking facilities are amazing parking is available even though it is very crowded, so you better drive a small car front desk is friendly

Review 114:Great location with parking. Staff were excellent.

Review 115:Wifi took ages to connect in evenings.

Review 116:Very pleasant clean room, helpful staff, great location close to everything you want to see and do.

Review 117:Entry to car park not for the faint hearted

Review 118:Location,

Review 119:Position, cleanliness, staff helpful and polite, quietness, wifi, option for breakfast (not included) for 5 euro.

Review 120:I didn't try the breakfast

Review 121:They were the most helpful there is a lift it is Arabian style authentic just inside the old city

Review 122:Staff at reception is very friendly and helpful.

Review 123:Poor breakfast, aged interior, very limited parking space.

Review 124:Location

Review 125:Perfect location right in the heart of tourist attractions , lovely deco

Review 126:Very clean, confortable and large rooms. Good prices with inc.parking. Very close city center and good restaurants.

Review 127:Perfect location, very nice room, friendly staff.
