Reviews for Hotel Sant Roc
Review 1:It wasn't a bad experience in any way, just a comment that the rooms are old-fashioned (charming) and a bit on the small side. Sound insulation wasn't brilliant.... but the location and lovely staff more than compensate for those slight drawbacks.
Review 2:The location is stunning, the inclusive breakfast copious and tasty, the à la carte menu excellent and the staff absolutely delightful. We loved it!
Review 3:We were in a room overlooking the sea but it had this useless area between bedroom and balcony which meant you couldn't see the sea from the bed!
Review 4:Friendly staff-great breakfast -
Review 5:I would just ask for a hot coffee made fresh at breakfast. Other guests were also complaining quietly.
Review 6:Brilliant location, we return year after year. Best place to enjoy a night cap in the gardens with the lighthouse in the distance. Early morning dip in the sea, magical!
Review 7:Unrealistic because of the position but a pool would be a bonus.
Review 8:Fabulous position. Simple but clean and comfortable rooms. Lovely staff. Excellent restaurant. Very good breakfasts taken on a beautiful terrace overlooking Calella.
Review 9:Another visitor has said that this was the best hotel he ever stayed in. The same thing for us! Everything was perfect: the room, the staff, the restaurant, the splendid view over the bay! We will definetly come back!
Review 10:The eggs in breakfast are "3" meaning from hens raised in small cages. The hotel could use eggs "1", which although not organic, are much better in quality.
Review 11:The receptionist Anna was very kind and attended all our requests. The terrace were one has breakfast is very large and has wonderful sea views. The breakfast is very complete. I suggest to find out which room you will be staying in, it may make a difference.
Review 12:Nothing
Review 13:Fantastic hotel for our stay to this beautiful area of Spain.beautifully set on top of the cliffs with fantastic views of the bay, with great staff excellent breakfast and fine foods served on an evening over looking the sea.good parking outside the hotel as well, well worth the money, will definitely return again at some point.
Review 14:We would suggest comfier chairs on the balconies and maybe a few more staff serving evening drinks
Review 15:The feeling of the small friendly hotel in a beautiful cliff top setting accessible 5 minutes to a lovely beach and tiny town with good restaurants.
Review 16:Communication via the website was a bit difficult, and I didn't like having to leave my room key every time we left, also, rooms are not very sound proof, but that's it. Loved the location and hotel!
Review 17:The view! The room was clean, decor was lovely, restaurant and bar had excellent service and food.
Review 18:Room doors tend to slam which awakens you but not really fault of hotel rather than their other guests.
Review 19:Rooms were lovely and buffet breakfast was delicious. Staff very friendly, and all within 5min walk of beaches and coastal walks.
Review 20:Beds a bit small.
Review 21:The best part is breakfast on the deck with the fabulous view out to sea and of the town. Stay there for that reason if nothing else. Friendly staff, good wifi, close to town, nice view from the corner room.
Review 22:Excellent family run old world hotel set on the cliff overlooking the fishing village of Calella de Pallafrugal. Sea view room worth the extra for the magnificent view. Lovely Breakfast served on the terrace and in the garden.
Review 23:This hotel is very highly recommended. The location is excellent, the staff is polite and helpful (thank you Barbara and Ana at the front desk), and the room was comfortable with amazing views. I couldn't recommend this place higher.
Review 24:No tea making facilities in room. No fridge available for drinking water or drinks.
Review 25:Booking in was straightforward and staff were helpful. Room was in a good position with a fantastic seaview. Hotel is an exceptional position looking over the village but lots of steps to walk up.Good for exercising !
Review 26:Breakfast was pretty unexciting - no cooked food (unless you boiled your own egg!). Great terrace to eat it on, though. Walls were pretty thin so if you have noisy kids in the room next to you, like we did, it could get annoying.
Review 27:Fantastic, peaceful location on the cliffs above Calella. Lots of good walking nearby and great calas for swimming and snorkelling. The hotel has a light, airy feel and a charm that makes it stand out from the usual chain hotels. Felt quite luxurious for a 3 star - much better than others we've been to. The Balcony restaurant is great for an evening meal. The food in the evening was OK.
Review 28:The rooms were a little small, but this is only minor. They were still lovely rooms full of character and very clean. Also we were at a wedding and running a tab at the bar, you didn't need to sign. This lead to confusion and people taking advantage and putting stuff on your room number. But in fairness staff at reception sorted it out!
Review 29:Hotel had simply stunning views from the terrace. I was travelling alone with my 3 month old baby and staff couldn't do enough for me, from house keeping to management, everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend both the town and the hotel for a visit.
Review 30:Beds very uncomfortable, and singles when we were a couple. It was noisy in the mornings as walls are thin and doors slam. There wasn't any hospitality in the rooms as in not even a bottle of water and it was very expensive for the overall quality provided
Review 31:Staff were helpful and smiley
Review 32:Do not stay in Room 7. Guests partied late, noisy until 1am on the terrace outside our room. Obviously the Management do not worry about the peaceful enjoyment of other paying guests. Our bed was a hard mattress on wooden slats, the worst bed we have experienced in many years of travel.
Review 33:The location and views are wonderful. The breakfast good and we enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant.
Review 34:- we felt that dinner from 8.30pm was on the late side although dinner is served from 8pm, in the autumn
Review 35:- a fantastic location, overlooking the bay of Calella de Palafrugell - a good mix of international guests. This is no spanish hotel for "Brits abroad" ! - friendly, "hands on" management who, clearly, strive to maintain high standards and customer satisfaction - friendly, helpful staff - an "a la carte" menu, as an alternative to the "Menu of the Day", which, in itself, provides a choice of three starters, three main courses and a number of desserts. The food is good
Review 36:While competent and not unfriendly, there was a lack of warmth in the hotel's staff. Coffee at breakfast was not great.
Review 37:Well located with a terrace with great sea views, easy walking distance to Cap Roig. Rooms old fashioned but comfortable.
Review 38:Having stayed at the Sant Roc on several occasions I knew what to expect. I suppose the thing I like most about the hotel is it's fantastic location and wonderful views across the bay of Callela de Palafrugell. I have always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, the food is good (although not fantastic) but the service given by Francisco in the bar was as always excellent!
Review 39:The hotel is old fashioned, the rooms are very small, it’s noisy (you even can hear the snoring in other rooms!) and the cleaning need to be improved. The service level of the staff is good. He pricing of the hotel is much too high.
Review 40:The hotel Sant Roc is looking out over the beaches and the village of Calella de Palafrugell. The view is amazing. With this, the main positive point of the hotel is mentioned.
Review 41:Beautiful hotel, impeccably kept with helpful accommodating staff. Great buffet breakfast daily and excellent buffet dinner with DJ one evening. Loved this hotel!
Review 42:Parking can be tricky.a bit pricey.
Review 43:Friendly family run hotel for 3 generations. Beautiful position and sea views . efficient friendly staff.quiet sleep well. lovey walks and beaches at your doorstep. Should be 4star! But no swimming pool.
Review 44:the size of the room could have been bigger
Review 45:Everything!! (well.. almost;) It is absolutely an amazing hotel! I do travel extremely much because of my work and I am really used to different types of hotels. This one, despite being rather simple and basic, gave me an incredible feeling. Attention to detail of the staff of the hotel was amazing. it's a cute, little hotel - great for a weekend break!
Review 46:Thought it was a bit overpriced, but I think that is because of being in Calella. Also, we were a bit disappointed with the breakfasts. Only a choice of 3 cereals, and they were soft. Only hot food was boiled eggs. Other hotels in the area we have stayed in offered full cooked breakfasts, fabulous fresh fruit, smoked salmon, different choices every day.
Review 47:The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was spotless. The bedroom was basic but more than adequate.
Review 48:Bed was making creaky noises every time you move.
Review 49:views and restaurant are good
Review 50:None.

Review 60:View
Review 61:View is amazing!!
Review 62:2 single beds in room which were difficult to push together and rather hard so a bit of an uncomfortable sleep!
Review 63:The view Staff were lovely
Review 64:bed comfort
Review 65:location, friendly and helpful staff, balcony with fantastic view.
Review 66:The fact that our reservation had not been received by the hotel.
Review 67:Location
Review 68:Cannot think of anything - we were there 10 years ago - the hotel is still very good.
Review 69:Welcoming staff - well run - super room.
Review 70:Very nice and quiet hotel, spectacular view on the sea, extremely helpful staff. rich breakfast. We fully enjoyed our stay.
Review 71:The location and hotel grounds were stunning. Beautiful views , friendly and helpful service.
Review 72:No blackout curtains with hotel lit by high lux lights at night. Air conditioning compressors could be heard rumbling all night. Room quite small. Lack of hotel parking.
Review 73:Location. Charm. Staff..
Review 74:nothing
Review 75:Excellent Staff. Ambience. Wonderful Cuisine, both breakfast & dinner. Half Board was excellent value. Able to borrow Beach Items. Very well run hotel but in a relaxed manner. Location
Review 76:Hotel guests were treated as second tier the emphasis was all about guests into the restaurant Calella Balco and the Sushi Bar. The hotel was sold to me on the basis of the view from the terrace, hotel gusts were not allowed to sit on the terrace at lunch or dinner. Bar service was poor when Acu was not working, on occasions we were deliberately ignored. Language skills need work for most staff.
Review 77:Friendly atmosphere, most of the staff, Llamin, Eva, Acu and all of the girls were great, very helpful and good fun. Reception staff very helpful, so to the chamber maids and cleaning staff. Made to feel welcome by everyone although half board residents do not receive the same treatment as full board or restaurant guests.
Review 78:There is nothing to report here
Review 79:As mentioned the location was great, the garden area was also very nice. The staff were very friendly and we had a lot of fun with them. We will be back.
Review 80:A wonderful hotel overlooking the sea. Beautiful rustic style rooms with excellent bathroom especially the shower. Lovely terrace overlooking the sea with restaurant serving local style food at lunch and dinner. Breakfasts are also good. A great place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of Calella de Parafugell - would definately stay again. Nice walk to the restaurants in the centre of the town but it's quite hilly so would not suit all.
Review 81:This hotel is full of the character of Catalonia. Owned by Catalonian family, who have modernized it without spoiling its origins. its setting and views are outstanding.
Review 82:Some investment in upgrading wifi signal would help as wifi was problematic and slow. Tv picture not the greatest
Review 83:Super friendly and welcoming staff Great view and easy walk into old fishing port as well as the excellent coastal walk to Cap Roig.Simple rooms homey feel lounge and restaurant deck with great view and pleasant breakfast
Review 84:Lack of cooked breakfast. Eating breakfast outside was not ideal in inclement weather.
Review 85:Location and scenery. Dinners at night, but when seafood is served paper towels or wetwipes should be made available. View from bedroom balcony.
Review 86:Beautiful cliff top setting in easy reach of village. Excellent food. Comfortable room.
Review 87:lamb at dinner was very poor too much fat
Review 88:Lack of small fridge. No tea/coffee making facilities
Review 89:Fantastic view, great terrace, helpful staff and good breakfast.
Review 90:Liked everything.
Review 91:Beautiful building in a great location. Very good, very professional staff. Hard to fault - perhaps a bigger car park!!
Review 92:Very welcoming and helpful staff. The vast sea views from balcony, restaurants and terrace. A superb holiday.
