Reviews for Nest Style Santiago
Review 1:The rooms need updating, and the general shabbiness made it feel unclean. Not enough to keep me from visiting again, though.
Review 2:The staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. Perfect location between the cathedral and the train station, and right next to the airport shuttle.
Review 3:Poor soundproofing. Loud, drunken guests kept us awake till 1-2 in the night. Bring earplugs. Even if the neighbours are not loud, you will hear in detail every toilet visit, talking, TV, etc.
Review 4:Excellent location, just next to the old town and shops of the new town. The bus to/from the airport (Plaza Galicia) is 3 minutes away. Kind and helpful staff. Clean.
Review 5:Very convenient for the railway station/ city centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean with good facilties and excellent value for money.
Review 6:Nothing
Review 7:The staff were very helpful. This bus from the airport (€5.10 return) drops you off in Plaza Galicia, which is only a few minutes walk away. Good internet. Great breakfast. Good value for Santiago.
Review 8:For three star, no resterant for evening meal. Was told at breakfast, that there were no desert spoons left and they are busy, poor service
Review 9:Comfy room
Review 10:Initially when we arrived at the hotel we were given a very dark, cramped double room on the top floor. Having stayed at the hotel before I was aware that other rooms were much more spacious and I spoke to a female receptionist who put us in a room facing to the front, much better than the first one.
Review 11:It is a comfortable hotel not far from the old part of town. Good selection at breakfast. Female staff extremely helpful.
Review 12:We did not have any bad experiences - in fact the staff were excellent. However, our stay would have been perfect if we had tea/coffee-making facilities in our room - as they do in most other countries.
Review 13:The staff, the accommodation generally, and especially the location.
Review 14:No bad experiences.
Review 15:The desk manager was extremely helpful as I needed to make an urgent international call. Facilities were very comfortable, great location, and clean.
Review 16:Everything was perfect, the best location and the staff was so helpful with everything. Especially Poul that helped me a lot to try to find out about my travel arrangement.
Review 17:My third stay - good value, good level of comfort and a really convenient situation for the rest of the city. Breakfast is standard buffet. Value for money overall and the staff have always been helpful. I'd stay again on future trips.
Review 18:Inadequacy / cost of nearby street parking.
Review 19:Policy for handing in keys. Reliable maid service. Location near to major bus stop, train station and entrance to old town.
Review 20:They have problems with their internet connection but we're doing what they could to resolve them.
Review 21:The staff was a competent team. All members were courteous, pleasant and helpful.
Review 22:This hotel is very well located near the Plaza de Galicia. Near to cathedral and old town but also just beside the bus to the airport. Wonderful day trip to Finisterre can be taken from this stop too.
Review 23:My room had one tiny window that looked out into a dark fire escape in the centre of the building. Very little natural light so not a nice place to spend time other than whilst asleep. The decor and furnishings in the room were very old and tired. The photos on the internet made everything appear fresher and more modern. Nasty surprise at 6am when checking out that after telling me breakfast was included on day one, it was not. I would not have eaten there had I Known this. Expensive cornflakes!
Review 24:Great location 5 minutes walk to the old town and 2 minutes from airport bus stop. Hotel was very clean. 50% of staff absolutely lovely, the other 50% not.
Review 25:Great location near the historic center. A nice, basic, clean room. Friendly staff, a basic and somewhat boring breakfeast. Underground public parking was fairly easy to find.
Review 26:We went out for breakfast and a walk. We returned at 1:00pm to have a shower and the room had not been made up. They informed us that rooms could take until 3:00pm to be refreshed. Not good enough in our view.
Review 27:Very nice room. Very close to Airport bus
Review 28:I have no complaints
Review 29:Central location with easy access to all major sites and transportation nodes. Exceptionally well appointed, luxury hotel with an attentive and helpful staff. Remarkably quiet rooms, quite surprising for a Capitol city.
Review 30:Excellent facilities, good cabreakfast included, staff most helpful, great location to access attractions, shopping/laundry areas. Camino pilgrims welcomed. Luggage storage available.
Review 31:The walls were paper thin. I could hear every word from the next room and when the Mexican bike team across the hall decided to wake up to the strains of "La Cucaracha" at 6:30 am, I woke up, too.
Review 32:Staff was good, bed was OK, property was clean and convenient
Review 33:Internet no good. Kept dropping out.
Review 34:All the staff are extremely nice and helpful. The rooms are modern and clean and very comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a central location.
Review 35:None
Review 36:Staying 9 nights, can highly recommend this hotel, as it is clean, convenient and best of all the staff are ever so helpful, especially Buen at Reception . My thanks to all.
Review 37:paper thin walls...I could hear everything from the surrounding rooms and corridor! Smallish room. too much air freshener used in the room.
Review 38:location, friendly staff, facilities, free wifi, breakfast, good value for money, good sized bathroom
Review 39:Conveniently situated, friendly staff and very comfortable. We were walking from Santiago to Finisterre and stayed at both the beginning and end of our walk. Very good value for money with excellent breakfast included.
Review 40:Could hear the other guests returning to their rooms in the early hours. Not sure if the walls were thin or guest just really loud.
Review 41:Hotel staff were very efficient and friendly. Room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good value for money and location was perfect.
Review 42:The fresh fruits in the breakfast were old and impossível to eat. Poor and too short bed sheet didn't cover properly the mattress. The plastic cups in the room were not substituted after use. Finally, the WiFi very unstable.
Review 43:Close to downtown.
Review 44:Breakfast could have been better.
Review 45:Room was small but adequate for the purpose. Great idea to have a small room for one person at a reasonable rate. Staff were very helpful. Bus stop for the airport very close bye
Review 46:What's there to dislike?
Review 47:Very helpful reception staff. No problem storing bikes. Good central location, easy for different parts of town - close to the cathedral etc but in a quieter location for a good nights sleep. Close to airport bus stop.
Review 48:Two good sleeps in the centre of the city in air-conditioned comfort were very much appeciated. The reception staff were welcoming and ensured all our needs were met, both within the hotel and about the city. We happily recommend this hotel.
Review 49:My friend and I stayed at Nest after we finished the Camino de Santiago. It's a great location, a short walk from the centre of the old city. It's close to bakeries, cafes and a grocery store for snacks and other quick eats. The staff are outstanding - friendly and helpful. A great choice and I would gladly stay there again.
Review 50:Walls very thin - could hear snoring from next door. Coffee machine very slow at breakfast - when busy caused long queues. Staying several days so would have welcomed at least one english speaking news channel
Review 51:Hotel very well located for access to the old town, trains and buses. Room was bright and comfortable with plenty of hanging space and a safe. Never had to wait for the lift.
Review 52:We did the Camino and found the hotel close enough to walk from the Old City and the Airport bus stopped only 50 meters away. Very clean and nice breakfast
Review 53:Our room was nothing like the pictures of rooms on the Internet site View from back of hotel very poor Small room, not good value for money
Review 54:Location Staff
Review 55:Room service was poorly done. We were three people and only got 2 very small soaps for two nights. The bathroom was not clean, the towels were carelessly placed on the rack. The room was in need of renovation. Bed sheets looked cheap and not clean. In addition, a member of the staff at the front desk who checked us in was very unprofessional. He wasn't welcoming at all and looked annoyed with the fact that we were doing a late check-in at night after a long trip from Galicia region. He asked our 13-year old son to sign the contract after requesting his passport and entering all his information in the hotel computer. We were amazed by this absurdity, but allowed our son to sign, not before joking around with him being considered an adult. I guess the front desk clerk realized he was making a huge mistake after seeing our reaction and without any apologies from his part, he threw out the contract signed by my son and handed me the same paper asking me to sign it. Nevertheless, I have to say that the other front desk clerks we encountered were friendly and helpful.
Review 56:Location is very good near to Puerta del Sol Square and Plaza Mayor.
Review 57:Arrived and upgraded to a suite.... booked last minute and my girlfriend and I paid €53 for the night including breakfast... awesome deal and staff were really friendly and helpful. Fairly standard breakfast but hey, not complaining!! :-)
Review 58:Rooms a little tired ,we were not in the newly refurbished. Plastic covers on the mattress.
Review 59:Room and bathroom a good size . Great location , close to centre and cathedral. Public parking close by.Staff helpful.
Review 60:Bit grubby in places, bed covers needed a clean and room cleaning could have been more thorough.
Review 61:The girls on reception were fantastic, so helpful, nothing was too much trouble, they make the hotel! OK self-service breakfast with long hours to suit all tastes Top floor room was great, quiet and refurbished, bathroom spacious and good shower. Great location, away from the throngs of the old quarter and pilgrim posses, but a quick and easy walk to get there.
Review 62:The street noise was a bit of a problem, particularly between 4:30 and 6 a.m. When the bars seemed to close and the young people piled out to continue the party, but it was summertime and school was out so what could you expect?
Review 63:Close to center of town, good neighborhood, super friendly staff in EVERY area (front desk, breakfast, housekeeping)! Room was clean and comfortable, enjoyed the breakfast buffet, staff did so much to help us upon our completion of the Camino de Santiago.
Review 64:The room was in a need for some refurbishment but the positive things was still more important for us
Review 65:Location great, close to old town. Good breakfast and a safe place for our tandem bicycle after the camino. Nice staff and nice to have a balcony
Review 66:Everything was a plus.
Review 67:Centrally located--a big plus. We arrived on the bus from the airport -- the hotel was on the same street! The train station was a 5 min walk. 10 min walk to restaurant row or the cathedral. Clean well maintained rooms. The reception staff were all very helpful as well as knowledgeable. We asked about a tour to Fisterra. Jennifer recommended Rutas Fisterra. Martti is an excellent guide. Icing on the cake.
Review 68:The computer that you have to pay to use needs to be fixed it kept freezing.
Review 69:Location, great service
Review 70:Room a/c was not functioning properly.
Review 71:Location was super. Comfortable after 500 mi on the Camino.

Review 79:Peaceful place. Privacy.
Review 80:Slight problem of sound proofing between rooms
Review 81:Receptionists exceedingly helpful. Breakfast very good. I would class this as highly recommended.
