Reviews for Reykjavik Lights Hotel

Review 1:Quite expensive - even for Reykjavik Room very small

Review 2:VERY friendly and welcoming reception staff Exceptionally comfortable linen and bedding Lovely hotel bar Covered parking

Review 3:The female receptionists often appeared guarded. Once I asked if they could help me book something (the blue lagoon) and she told me to book online despite the fact I saw other guests book through reception during my stay and I myself booked through the gentlemen on reception three times during the course of my trip.

Review 4:So many things were within walking distance! Such as the geothermic pool, city centre and places to eat. The male staff at reception were exceptionally helpful and helped book all our excursions for us giving us their opinions of the trips. The breakfast was potentially the best I have had and offered something for everyone, even picky eaters.

Review 5:Nothing. The only problem was walking into town on frozen snow on the footpaths. As good as this hotel is they cannot control the weather!

Review 6:How clean it was. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice. Excellent value for money.

Review 7:Non.

Review 8:Unexpectedly I received the room where I stayed 2 years ago. The roomname - Morsugur 24 (December 24) on 7th floor. You can even leave thecar in hotels parking garage free of charge.

Review 9:The room was very small, even though I'd upgraded to a "superior" room. Also, I was kept awake all night due to thin curtains and the room being above the brightly lit lobby area

Review 10:The staff at the Reyjkavik Lights Hotel were really friendly and helpful, can't fault their customer service. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. The breakfast was fresh with plenty of choice.

Review 11:Everything was great. Room had a nice bathroom, bed, desk, and flat screen TV. Breakfast was also great and the wifi connection was one of the best I had in Iceland.

Review 12:Not all staff were completely friendly, but I might have misinterpreted them. The website is a little spare, leaving out things like check in and out times.

Review 13:Beautiful design which is very spare (and to my liking). Good reliable breakfast.

Review 14:The beds are not comfortable- lumpy and hard.

Review 15:Very clean, sparsely furnished hotel. Staff helpful and professional. Breakfast was great. All hotels were extremely expensive- this was within our budget. easy to find.

Review 16:Nothing.

Review 17:The Reception staff were excellent. Breakfast was too good. Those fresh hot pastries!!! Our twin room was spacious and comfortable, but looked great as well.

Review 18:Not a bad experience, but having no choice of bed covering other than a duvet, which at times can be too hot. If we took the duvet out of its cover and only used the duvet cover it was too cool. A light blanket would have been good. Also, two pillows please.

Review 19:The cleanliness, free parking, good fresh food.

Review 20:Small room

Review 21:For us it was one-night hotel, so the bed was really good. But the room was small and the bathroom too. Also in the bathroom you can see a heater - be careful with it, cause you can scorch.

Review 22:Breakfast was good but no hot food :( windows not clean but coming from a windy seaside town myself I can understand how difficult it is to deal with this problem. The gorgeous view of the bay made up for it though!

Review 23:Eventhough the hotel is 20-30 min walk from the city centre, you can get ALL excursions and ALL airport transfers to pick you up from the hotel and drop you off at the hotel afterwards, it's brilliant. If you don't fancy the walk, a taxi to the city centre from the hotel is around 3000 krona (around 13 or 14 pounds) and there's a bus service as well. The cash machine in the bank next door to the hotel was very handy and there are plenty of restaurant choices very close to the hotel. Excellent staff, very helpful and friendly.

Review 24:Breakfast: minimalistic choice, cutlery and cups/mugs not clean, inattentive staff at breakfast.

Review 25:Rooms: wooden flooring, modern bathroom, helpful staff at reception.

Review 26:Room wasn't clean upon arrival, we had several pieces of fingernails on the window frame and a hair on the bed. Even the superior room was rather small and facing a parking lot and a underground parking entrance. Staff was very careless, exactly one minute after breakfast time the coffee container was empty. Breakfast was very basic. Breakfast room was like a noisy canteen.

Review 27:Design

Review 28:Only 1 baby high chair available at breakfast, which is an issue when you have twins!

Review 29:Good location and good food choices nearby. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.

Review 30:1) Shower cabin is designed to be partly-open, so splashes from shower are spread to the bathroom floor

Review 31:1) The overall design idea of hotel 2) Cleanliness 3) Price (we have obtained discount at booking.com) 4) Tea facilities in room 5) Free Wi-Fi

Review 32:Had to check out 25 minutes late due to a business phone call. Housekeeping was extremely rude and annoying and knocked on the door about five times even though I told them I was going to check out in 30 minutes. Not professional or appropriate for a place with this price tag. Also very basic and too expensive for what it offers. I will not be back.

Review 33:I can't even find the words to say how helpful the staff are. We arrived earlier than our check in time and were allowed straight to our room. Helped us with table reservations and bus numbers etc. hotel was lovely and clean. Tours picked us up straight from the hotel. I would definitely return again. Thank you to all the staff

Review 34:Location is slightly out of town (about 25 mins walk), but most excursions pick up from hotel in any case

Review 35:Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast selection in the morning good, rooms were clean, crisp and new.

Review 36:Nothing :)

Review 37:The staff was so extremely helpful and friendly. Very playful, accommodating and nice. Can't say enough about this place. Literally a short 10 minute drive from downtown. Would definitely stay here again if ever I find myself in Iceland.

Review 38:The location is slightly too far away from the city centre although there's buses commuting us to the city centre.

Review 39:Best hotel staffs as they're understanding and responsive. Extremely friendly and unimaginably caring

Review 40:Pillows were not very supportive (but the staff gave us extras)

Review 41:The view!! (7th floor bay side) Location. (Close to city centre, but far enough away to escape the big crowds) The giant rain-fall shower-head!

Review 42:Breakfast is ordinary, its no hot food but everything that is is okey!

Review 43:Good looking rooms with Nice beds. Everything worked well in the room. Good shower. Nice staff. Good with parking lots and for us with a own car the location is great.

Review 44:Nothing

Review 45:Very quick check-in, nice personell working in night shift, good breakfast, comfortable & clean room and bathroom. Very helpful booking department. Great value for money paid.

Review 46:Location was convenient, hotel is well known to all tour operators. Not in the middle of town but easy access to city centre via bus stop which is right outside the hotel. Clean, modern, and everything was just so easy, how a holiday should be.

Review 47:Early check in all arranged for us. Extra set of pillows available on request. We we able to take hot drinks for the bar up to our room. Comfortable bed. Lovely, warm room. Quiet. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Review 48:Only one pillow provided, but we asked for more and they were more than happy to oblige.

Review 49:Fantastic hotel! Friendly, helpful staff, great with directions and advice about tours etc. Lovely facilities. Great bar (with happy hour!) Lovely breakfast, with wide variety of choices. Free Wi-fi. Good bus service, or easy walk into town. Would definitely stay here again!

Review 50:- Need to add hook in the main space of the room so people can hang up bag or coat immediately. Some things you just don't put in the closet - I booked for single room but the table is really too small; phone already take half of the table, can't work with that tiny table. Suggest to add extra board for the phone so guests has more space and can use the table.

Review 51:Wifi, price, cleaness

Review 52:Not very central, close to the Hilton. A solid 20-min walk to downtown But there are plenty of buses stopping just in front, with direct service to BSI, Mjodd, the domestic airport and downtown.

Review 53:Modern, clean, efficient hotel. Comparable to a newer Ibis. Great views from north-facing rooms. Continental breakfast and fast wifi included. A couple of family-style restaurants in the building and next door.

Review 54:Limited breakfast choices.

Review 55:Nice hotel near to Laugardalshöll bus stop. Very kind and helpful staff. Special thanx to Ragnar for the early breakfast preparation.

Review 56:A little far from town center, room a bit small; nice shower but no bathtub

Review 57:Good value. 30min walk from town center. Very good breakfast. Comfortable bed

Review 58:A little far away from the main drag of Reykjavik. Not very many TV options for non-Icelandic speakers. Restaurants in the immediate area are limited. No convenience or grocery store near by.

Review 59:Great breakfast and happy hour, clean and great design elements. My favorite part was the heated towel rack and fantastic shower. A short walk away from a nice outdoor pool and hot tub complex. On the bus route.

Review 60:Nothing at all. I had no disappointments in my stay

Review 61:I loved everything about the hotel - location, staff, plentiful European style breakfast, clean rooms and comfy bed. Slightly away from the action in town but handy enough.

Review 62:The location could have been better as it takes 20 mins to walk into the city. But again for people who enjoy walking shouldn't be a problem.

Review 63:The staff is very helpful and friendly. Modern building, comfy bed and clean rooms. Ask for room on the 7th floor which gives the best view.

Review 64:Lousy tasteless breakfast Collective Mass breakfasting under supervision of Waiters waiting next to your table for having something to do

Review 65:Modern IKEA atmosphere style hotel Clean, comfortable and reasonable prized hotel alo in peak seaons but also nothing more.

Review 66:Hotel is not located in the city center, it's almost half an hour if you walk by foot

Review 67:Very friendly staff, everything clean, comfortable bed, breakfast good

Review 68:Super clean, very nice, modern hotel.

Review 69:Not a walking distance from downtown

Review 70:The calm, close to the motorway, cleanliness, friendly staff.

Review 73:Room looked smaller than the one booked.

Review 74:Location, excellent shower, good quality breakfast

Review 78:Staff very informative taxu expensive. Trios excellent value

Review 82:It was quite, comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 83:Almost everything

Review 84:Very clean, well designed room with good views. Nice buffet breakfast. 30 minute walk from laugervegur.

Review 85:Staff was a bit scary. Room is very small.

Review 86:The room was clean, very good breakfast.

Review 87:Breakfast is OK. Even then if there were more varieties, such as omlette station, it would be much better.

Review 88:Very pleasent environment. No disturbance

Review 89:Very friendly receptionist (Finnur)

Review 90:All good

Review 91:Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast. Close to Testaurants

Review 92:Price vs. quality (although this is more of a general complaint about Iceland hotels)

Review 93:Location. General amenities. Staff.

Review 94:good by Reykjavic standards. decor slighlty Ikea-ish, but hey, ur in a Nordic country!
