Reviews for Aparthotel Novo Resort
Review 1:It was about 40 mins out if Cadiz city itself so you need a car to get here.
Review 2:What's not to like? This place has everything you possibly need. 5 swimming pools, so many restaurants and bars, has an Irish pub in it, with a bowling alley, a nightclub, spa treatment, shops, a beach... Etc We stayed in an apartment, king beds, kitchen, everything you need. Wished we stayed longer!
Review 3:Fantastic location, close to the beach and yet far from the madding crowds! A great place with children. The luxury apartments are very good, and furnished to a high standard.
Review 4:Lack of restaurant choice if I'm being picky. No outdoor heated pool. Having to pay extra for the Spa.
Review 5:Beautiful apartment by with sea in lovely gardens with excellent pools. Best beach in Spain. Barceló is a very good hotel. Probably the best in Sancti Petri. This time the food was excellent.
Review 6:Kitchen utensils a bit basic A sound system + DVD (absent) would improve the experience
Review 7:The size of the apartment The decor The wonderful tropical gardens
Review 8:Not a big issue : ants in the bathroom
Review 9:Comfortable accommodation ; well -maintained territory, pools; SPA is great - probably the best I've ever been ; delicious restaurants ; nice breakfast; beautiful beach; reasonable price for this kind of service . A bit of advice : don't try to find Aparthotel Novo Resort - go directly to Barcelo Sancti Petri Spa Resort. You should check -in there first. It's literally the same territory .
Review 10:We had a small case of minute ants in one of the bathrooms, nothing major, but would expect this would not happen on a 5 star hotel.
Review 11:pretty much EVERYTHING!, it was a fantastic fortnight taking advantage of the multiple pools, and extensive use of the kids club (I have a 4 and 5 year old) which gave me time to enjoy a little of me-time. Being next to a fantastic beach also is a plus
Review 12:Not much in immediate area. For some reason they chose to have an exercise class five feet from our patio in am. Beach wall to wall people mid day.
Review 13:Very large condo. Nice to have 3 bathrooms and tons of space. Great kitchen facilities. Great beach that isn't crowded early.
Review 14:everything was great, pools and garden awsome, aparthotel. clean and big ,close to the beach, great water in the ocean.we would come again .great vaca for our family.great parking too.
Review 15:The restaurant selection. On the first day we arrived at about 7pm and went out to explore a place to eat. We only wanted a sandwich or snack since the kids were tired from the trip. The only places available were the buffet (too much food), the elegant Atunante restaurant and a pub with a bowling alley. We went to the pub and it was the worst food I have had in a very long time. It was depressing...I thought we had made a huge mistake. Luckily things looked up when we discovered the beach restaurants and others nearby. Ironically, on our very last day we tried the hotel Beach Club restaurant (which was closed when we got there) and it was excellent. I would suggest it be open in the evenings. I was also surprised that the resort was also a conference center.
Review 16:Loved the beach itself (location), the hotel beach club restaurant, the pools and beautiful grounds, the nearby chiringuitos or beach restaurants...the accommodating staff
Review 17:SHAME THE TV WAS NOT A BIG SCREEN FOR THE SIZE OF APARTMENT / NO DVD PLAYER / NO IRONING BOARD AND IRON AND AIRER / IPOD DOCK WOULD BE NICE IN BEDROOM / KITCHEN EQUIPMENT VERY BASIC ie lack of serving bowls/cooking utensils/coffee mugs/ trays for carry food to the upper terrace/ plastic ware for upper terrace would be great. BUFFET DINING ROOM FELT LIKE YOU WERE IN A CANTEEN, VERY BRIGHT COULD DO WITH SOME GREAT LIGHTING
Review 18:VIEWS/APARTMENT/TERRACE/GROUNDS/BOWLING/SWIMMING POOLS/ BBQ/AMAZING SUNSETS/BEACH BRILLIANT/CAR PARKING GREAT/ PLEASANT STAFF/
Review 19:Disappointed the tour of the garden is no longer available - need to take it off the website!
Review 20:gardens were amazing buffet restaurant food was delicious and well priced
Review 21:My only reservation is that it was not walking distance to any local restaurants, so either eat dinner in the hotel (which is really nice) or drive 5-10 mins to the local resort. Having said that, Cadiz, Jerez, and fabulous hill towns like Vejer, are all fairly easy to drive to (20-40 mins), and provided great options.
Review 22:We stayed in the luxury apartments, which were fabulous. A ground floor is a must with kids so they can play in the gardens. The grounds of the hotel are extensive (4 different pools) and very beautiful. We stayed in April, and it was so quiet that we had whole swimming pool areas to ourselves for days on end. last but not least, the breakfasts in the hotel are incredible.
Review 23:For a 5 star facility, there were some small items missing in the appartment, like towels in the kitchen and no daily towel change. When I entered the restaurante, the person attending at the door (the hostess) did not speak English! So a 5 star facility with a 4,5 star service.
Review 24:The appartments were very spaceouis. Quiet location and good location, friendly staff. Great swimming pools. Kids loved the kids club.
Review 25:Intermittent WiFi, although the food was good it was expensive.
Review 26:Great rooms, size of the apartment, swimming pools, location, secure garage, good staff, comfort, landscaped gardens
Review 27:Restaurant food is good, but for a 4 starts level. I expected a little bit more from a 5 stars. Dinners better than lunch due the bbq service.
Review 28:Quiet and plenty of space in pools. Wonderfull and well kept garden.
Review 29:A bit pricey, pool water a bit cold.
Review 30:The Apartments are part of the resort, excellent setup for a family of 4, well equipped and spacious. The complex offers all you need for a few quiet days. The water in most of the pools is a bit cold but ok to swim in the summer. The beach, even though a bit far from the hotel itself is really good, fine sand and flat water drop, great for kids. We really enjoyed it.
Review 31:Front Desk service is very slow. It's required to do two stops in different Front Desk. The main Front Desk doesn't have any information about the apartment number, size, etc.
Review 32:Beautiful environment. Cleanliness. Quiet place
Review 33:just fabulous right next to the beach, the appartment was excellent, hotel staff helpful and friendly
Review 34:Fantastic hotel
Review 35:Nothing to complain about :-)
Review 36:Everything was great as in the Years before.
Review 37:not worth purchasing food at Hotel
Review 38:quiet, thoroughly restful spaces
Review 39:The wifi wasn't very stable
Review 40:Wonderfull place to stay! Beautiful garden, great pools.
Review 41:No Entertainment
Review 42:The garden, pools, the Atlantic view
Review 43:large apartment which was clean and well equipped. lovely views of one of the pools. good kitchen/
Review 44:Lack of nearby restaurant for eating out at night.
Review 45:The resort facilities
Review 46:* Friendly, professional staff * Facilities (especially the indoor pool) * Variety & quality of food * Gorgeous setting
Review 47:The apartments has everything a family need. Apartment is big and clean . The underground parking is very helpful
Review 48:everything! area, apartment, swim pools, SPA, nice breakfast and dinner, beach!!!M
Review 49:The food wasn't great and was a bit pricey. But there are lots of great places to eat in the local area and a well equipped kitchen in the apartment if you want to stay in!
Review 50:The apartment was huge and really well equipped. A true home from home. There were plenty of sun loungers around the pool and the kids loved playing in the kids pools. We had a great time and would definitely go back.
Review 51:Very hard to find! Besides its names, you should look for Barceló Sancti Petri Spa and go there, because you must check in there, and then go outside to other entry... quite confusing!
Review 52:The apartment was amazing, and quite modern. 5min walk to the beach. Nice pools.
Review 53:The Throw on the beds - shedding fluff. Some dust under the curtains. Tennis Court would be nice.
Review 54:Great friendly and helpful staff especially Natalie at the Spa (great customer service from her). Very attractive grounds, well kept. Good accommodation, spacious. Kitchen well equipped.
Review 55:The food in the zahara restaurant was horrible and completely over priced. The fish was not fresh, nor was the meat. The desert we ordered was a white chocolate brownie but it very clearly came from a packet and was completely inedible.
Review 56:All staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Review 57:This is probably just being picky because we found our stay to be fabulous but.....our only negative was that none of the lighting on the garden grounds of the resort was working during our stay. There were very few guests during the time we stayed so it would have been nice to have the lighting around the resort gardens working for the enjoyment of the few of us who were there at the time. The pools were also all quite cold, however, it was April and I don't believe they are heated so that was to be expected.
Review 58:Fabulous stay! We stayed here in April 2014. We found it to be a very good location and very secure. The apartments were lacking nothing. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, plenty of space. One bathroom had a hair dryer and both always had plenty of towels, shampoo, body wash, and lotion. (no hand soap) We had an extra blanket on the bed in each room although we did request this because we had read that there were no blankets in the rooms. We were very cold the first night. The heating is a bit tricky to figure out but we contacted the front desk and they were able to help us figure it out. The apartment does have heating, heated floors, and air conditioning. All to suit your level of comfort. The apartment was very clean and very spacious. They came to clean, exchange towels, and change sheets every two days. They even folded my daughter's clothes she had left on the bed. Normally if one of my children leaves clothing on the bed, it doesn't even get touched but this place was different. That was very kind of them. The kitchen had everything needed for our stay. Coffee pot, toaster, fridge, freezer, oven, stove, two sinks, washing machine and dryer, plenty of dishes and cookware. The beds are a bit hard but not uncomfortable. Wifi worked very well in all rooms but we found that we had to initially set it whilst in the living area for some reason. Excellent view from our apartment whilst sitting outside. Absolutely beautiful sunsets!! There are about five pools on the grounds. The restaurant and spa were not open during our stay so we are unable to comment about them. The staff had let us know about this situation before charging us for our stay. We found that to be very commendable and we appreciated that very much. It wasn't a problem as we purchased food for breakfast and dinner and mostly had lunch out at the various restaurants in Chiclana or in Cádiz. We loved the location!
Review 59:-/- Nothing to report, all fine! ...the only thing I would recommend to the hotel reception: Make sure your guests understand from the beginning that access to services (restaurants, Spa, indoor pool) is limited/closed. For us it was not a problem. However, if you expect it, you are maybe disappointed if things are not available... just a thought.
Review 60:Great resort, great relaxing, great time! Whole atmosphere incl. fantastic garden we enjoyed so much. The appartment was simply outstanding! Quiet, maybe too quiet :-). Perfect beach, waves, sun! A week is too short. We 'll be back next year!
Review 61:If you don't have a gps , you will be lost for sure ,and youwon't be able to find the hotel even if you look for it for thewhole day. Because there is no hotel under this name , or any signshowing that such an hotel exists. First you go to the only hotel atthis location which it's name is barcelo ;they tell you at thereception ,that you came to the right adress , but this is the name oftheir apart hotel, and they describe you how to go there. This hotel ismeant for summer , if you go there after mid october , you will get cold, as their ac is not working properly , and there are no blankets in therooms. Poor breakfast
Review 62:Our experience in an apartment for 4 in June 2013 was very bad for the following reasons: 1. There is no such place as Aparthotel Novo Resort. No signs and no name. It is part of Barceló Resort. After 30 minutes driving around and asking at other hotels we called and were told where to go. Terrible! 2. You have to check in at one location and collect the keys elsewhere. The doors to the underground parking were difficult to operate. Getting into the apt was time consuming and then we had to wait for a 2nd key belonging to the cleaners. 3. The toilet in one of the bathrooms stopped working after a few hours. 4. We found a clump of hair in one of the showers which looked like it had been removed from the drain and forgotten. Terrible. 5. The hot tub was cold, like the pools. 6. It was not possible to swim in any of the pools before 11am in the mornings (hotel rule). 7. The lift failed on the way down and 4 of us were stuck inside and had to ring the alarm. Frightening! 8. On check-out no one even asked if we had experienced any problems. I have been a regular user of this site for 10-years and have never written such a bad review as this. Sorry, but don't understand the "superb" rating. Our experience was a disaster.
Review 63:The staff were very friendly and the apartments themselves nice.
Review 64:A couple of small things which would enhance the apartment. Nothing todry dishes - not a major issue so we just bought some in SuperSol. Yes,there is a dishwasher but when there are only 2 people it's a wasteto use it. No kettle, but again we just used a or to boil water. Tvoccasionally made a very loud beeping noise for no reason.
Review 65:Very clean environment. House-keeping called regularly to the apartmentto change towels etc. Comfortable bed, living area. Great kitchen etc.
Review 66:The fact that you can not get room service which when you have youngchildren that sleep early made life a bit difficult to actually enjoy anevening meal unless you cook yourself which the whole purpose of howstay was to enjoy good food and relax.
Review 67:Location, staff and the whole ambience of the resort
Review 68:The swimming pools were strangely cold (unlike the ocean).
Review 69:Perfect - just perfect. It was mid-June, the ocean was warm and great. The apartment is very cozy and extremely well equiped. The price of about 140 Euro for 2-beds with a big dining room and a patio is indeed great value for money. The 5* Barcelo hotel territory (which is also the territory of the aparthotel - the same owner) is very nice and big. The food is fantastic and not very expensive. The personnel was kind enough even to get me a pack of cigarettes when I ran out of mine. I strongly recommend the hotel.
Review 70:There is not any sign about name of hotel. We came to the city late and it was not easy to find it. When we wanted to call and ask for late check inn nobody pick up the phone
Review 71:Excellent and nice rooms and all facilities. Good location polite staff
Review 72:A bit hard to find, tried to check in into the barcelo hotel at first :) (the entrance to the apartment complex is the next turn, after barcelo and "reception" is in the guard booth. Although it was beginning of May, the hot tubs were not working, not all the pools were working and the ones, that were, were very cold :) Not much to do in the area, if you're not a golf fan.
Review 73:The apartments are great, fully furnished and equipped, spacious, with great terrace and an ocean view. We had a great, relaxing time by the ocean
Review 74:The apartments do not get any sun and are cold inside . Underground parking is too small and getting your car parked there is a daily problem.
Review 75:Close to fabulous beach where you can walk for long distances . Gardens and pool areas in the complex were 5 star . Apartment top class and well equipped.
Review 76:Large gated resort type complex was soul-less in April. Whole resort was a soul-less new build strip development.
Review 77:v modern apartment with high quality next to beach
Review 78:Description how to find the Resort...as it is the next building to theBarcelo Hotel, but we had to search about an hour. No access to allfacilities (Bar, Spa etc...) as the Barcelo hotel was exclusivelyreserved and the resort has a joint venture agreement Pre Season, commonpool/whirlpool not ready as well as the seating pillars on theterrace where not there.
Review 79:Rooms are amazing/beatyful, this is really 5 star and more. Fullkitchen available in the room, so if you want to cook at 'home',feel as it at home. Very nice people and if you have a wish they willsupport you. The Resort is open since March 23, so there are some tasksthey can make better, but in general it is a very good place....and ifyou fall in love...some appartments are for sale. Very nice and thebeach is really just behind the Resort.
Review 80:The apartment was very clean and spacious. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The beach is within walking distance.
Review 81:close to beach, ocean, cjmfortable rooms
Review 82:Very good infrastructure, lots of swimming pools. Good apartment with nice terrace. I will definitely recommend to others.
Review 83:it had no blankets
Review 84:everything
Review 85:Paid way too much for it.
Review 86:Very competent design and preparation of space
Review 87:The apartment was great, really new and very spacious
Review 88:The pools were very cold, and did not seem very clean.
Review 89:Staff. Apartments were very comfortable. Close to the ocean.
