Reviews for Hotel Roya

Review 1:The owner or the lady that runs the place lacks in manners, even when my friend addressed her in perfect Catalan. I guess not having many hotels she can be rude to people. Internet signal is really bad on the third floor, you have to go to the living room and sit down with the family while they watch TV!!

Review 2:The hotel is in a nice location having a nice outside restaurant area. The decoration is ok, a bit tacky but considering how old the place is that's secondary. Very clean.

Review 3:The hotel is worn out - rooms need a make over. Too pricy compared to standard of rooms.

Review 4:great breakfast and very friendly staff.

Review 10:Perfect location, simple and clean room, great restaurant, fabulous staff.

Review 11:There was not one thing wrong during our 3 day stay.

Review 12:The Roya's service and the food were impecable. We were in a small alpine town a few minutes from fabulous day hiking, but the food was worthy of a city restaurant. Rooms and bathrooms recently renewed and super clean.

Review 13:Our room was a bit cold, but when we mentioned this fact at dinner they immediately put a fan heater in the room.

Review 14:The staff - the mother and daughter who run the hotel were very very helpful and kind. The restaurant was very good.

Review 15:We found the restaurant not very good.

Review 16:Espot is a very good place to stay when you want to hike in the Aigues Tortes Provincial Park, which a beautiful part of the Pyrenees. The hotel is basic, with breakfast and dinner included (at least in our case). It is run by mother and daughter, who were at times very nice, but seemed somewhat stressed at other times. The room was small, but it had a lovely view. Breakfast was fine. When some groups of hikers were staying there, it had a nice atmosphere.

Review 17:We liked the hotel as soon as we saw it but were disappointed in the size of the room. We expected teamaking facilities. However our disappointment was soon overcome by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff who were exceptionally terrific. Thankyou for helping us to have a mind blowing experience on our daytrip with the taxi's. We are well travelled people and I am telling everyone that this area is magnificent and unforgettable.

Review 18:There was a misleading directions from Booking.com. The hotel is locatednot in the end of Sant Mauruci street (as shown by Booking.com), but inits middle part. When going in the village, after crossing the river oneshould turn left, not right. However, this is not a hotel fault.

Review 19:The hotel definetely deserves 3 stars at minimum. The triple room was infact a small apartment (two rooms plus bathroom), everything decoratedin Alpine village style. The hotel includes also a hall for reading (andseveral bookshelves), billiard, cafeteria and restaurant. There is alsorestaurant and sport/souvenir shop in the next building, operated by thesame people. Buffet breakfast was great and hearty, including localsausage, cheese and other delicious food. The staff did their best forproviding travel information for us (the Espot jeep taxis, etc.), evenacross a language barrier. For a rest before and after mountain hiking, one cannot find anything better!

Review 20:Coming off-season, the place felt a bit unkept. there were ants in our room. The nice lady from the reception came and sprayed the room, but that limited our access to the room.

Review 21:The hotel is well located in the center of Espot which means easy access (by car) to hiking routes. It is also quite close to some good restaurants. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

Review 22:The staff was very kind. There are some rooms which are a little "old".

Review 23:Location

Review 24:friendly staff, good location, clean room, breakfast ok

Review 25:Very friendly and helpful, we were the only ones staying at the hotel at the time and the owners really made us feel at home. Highly recommended!

Review 26:Very excellent hotel , the crew is very friendly. The Room are clean.

Review 27:Excellent location as a base for walkers/hikers, with good views of the surrounding mountains and friendly staff. Large, free car park.
