The hotel is located a couple of blocks from ocean and side views are almost non existent from the room they provided. The side view gives you a view of another hotel and if you step outside on the balcony, you can get a peek-a-boo view through the buildings and trees. The uncomfortable mattress for a 4*

Review 16：I have just returned from the Hotel Montemar Maritim in Santa Susanna. The hotel is clean, the staff in reception, bar and restaurant are welcoming, pleasant and helpful. The hotel is situated in the quieter end of the resort opposite the train station but a 15 minutes walk takes you into the busier Malgrat de Mar. The food in the restaurant was well prepared, with a wide choice of options and regularly replenished. There was an open kitchen at breakfast when fried eggs and omelettes were freshly made and, at dinner, fish, meat and pasta were freshly prepared. This was in addition to the normal buffet counters with salads, soup pasta, meat, chicken and fish also a dessert counter. My wife and sister-in-law are both diagnosed Coeliac, which requires a gluten free diet, and the treatment they received at the hotel is what prompts me to give such glowing report of the hotel. We had enquired about gluten free options, the hotel had recognised this, resulting when they entered the restaurant, in a breakfast each morning of cereal,bread, biscuits and cakes and advice on what was available from the buffet counter. At dinner time one of the chefs was made available and conducted them round the buffet counter to advise what was suitable, because gluten can be included in certain foodstuffs. The level of attention which was given to this dietary requirement exemplifies the high quality of staff and service at the hotel.

For every day of the week there are different well chosen offerings. Everything is within reach: Beaches (Tossa, Lloret, Santa Susanna, Blanes and a long etc.)

Review 23：Not up to the 4 star rating. Lounge room was poorly furnished and more like a canteen area. Swimming pool was too small. Found two long black hairs on our bathroom floor on arrival . Rooms very basic, no pictures, fridge empty. WiFi poor in most of the hotel. Won't be back.

Review 28：We were given room 414 at the front of the hotel and it was great. A massive secure balcony with sun beds and seating and a great view. The room itself was really good, very spacious with two sleeping areas a perfect family room. Light and bright and very clean. We were half board and the food was pretty good, with quite a lot of choice each evening. The pool is lovely, the kids club was great, the entertainment was ok the usual dancers, singers etc but waiter service for the drinks so nice and relaxing. I would definitely recommend catching the train from the airport to resort, it cost us 16 euro for 2 adults and 2 children and the station is just over the road from the hotel (you don't get any train noise in the hotel) you can also hop on the train to visit other towns like Pineda 3mins on the train and has a huge fair ground perfect for the kids!! I would definitely stay here again, in fact we tried about 3 weeks after this stay but they were full and we ended up next door in the Aquabrava Hotel. I preferred the Maritim but both are very nice hotels.

Review 29：Breakfast was pretty much the same every day. No variety. Drinks are not included in the All inclusive/half board formulas. You have to buy tickets (1 ticket 1.85 Eur) and they are a bit expensive compared to the restaurants in the area. E.g. 1/2 l sangria in the restaurant in front of the hotel is 6.50 Eur and in the hotel for dinner we were paying 5 tickets (= 9.25 Eur).

Review 34：The hotel is in a good location with a 5 minute walk across the road and under the railway bridge to the beach. The train station for trains to Barcelona is just across the road but there is no noise from the trains passing by. The hotel itself, room, public areas and pool was very clean with a good choice of food at breakfast and dinner, we had booked half board and it was well worth the extra £20.00 each for this for the week. The fridge in the room though small was very useful. We would definitely return.

Review 35：Air conditioning was the only negative aspect of our 8 night stay. The temperatures were very high during our stay 30 plus and the air conditioning was not sufficient for our comfort. The reception staff were helpful with tips on keeping the room cool and had maintenance check AC out, but it was not possible to set the temperature in the room at a lower level as the level seemed to be set centrally.

Review 37：Fabulous Hotel with good facilities. Staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for access to the beach and a stone throw away from Santa Susanna train station providing great links to Barcelona and other areas of Spain.

Review 38：1) The pool is kinda smallish for the amount of people using it. The kids enjoyed it though. 2) The breakfast is okay, but not good. It's like the catering at a school. The bright spot is the egg section where you get fresh omelets.

Review 43：Fantastic hotel. We were full board & weren't expecting too much but all the food was fantastic. Excellent idea to be able to reserve sunbed for 1€ which is all going donated to oxfam. Staff could not do enough for you. We had a massive front family room.

Review 44：Rude staff in the reception (not all but some). When I came I was told I could pay 1 eur and they would reserve sunbed and when I told them I would like to reserve one they told me I couldn´t because so many was taken and they had to have soma available, pretty strange.

Review 46：The WIFI is not good as they say, the routers must be updated, it should be able to alocate more IP address, check the subnetmask! the hotel make you to have trousers ( byxor ) when it is dinner time ( when it is 30+ degree ) , not cool!!! we had half pension but guess what, we had to pay for drinks ( including water) 2 Euro for each person, not nice when you pay almost 180 euors for every night and all of sudden you must pay 6 additional euro at the dinner table every night. you have to pay for coffee even if you have half pension outside breakfast time! lot of people smoking evey where, there should be a designated place only for smokers, smokers bug you all the time. the pool is not disigned for that amont of people, we never used it. the food was OK but I really never enjoyed it, not too much taste in the food

Review 59：The most clean hotel I've ever been. Food is good and plenty. Night program is good. Especially recommend two of them: Aloha Polinezia and Almost Brothers. Special thanks to Janet, one of the receptionists.

Review 60：The children animation and evening performances were rather poor. Moreover, the bar and small scene are in the closed room with stifling air. Weak wifi range. More elderly people than families, might be boring to stay for long time.

Review 62：At first, employees in the restaurant (dining area) could perhaps realize that they are serving customers who are paying for the service and food not in school cafeterias, very bad service, poor attitude, especially with one chef, he makes p.ex. omelets, always in a bad mood, rude. It was, however, one exception, the hoster, he was very nice. The food was ok. Our room was on the 5th floor, on the side turned to the next hotel and we could hardly sleep for the noise of the fans from the hotel. Pool area is rather small and not very enjoyable for the children. No washing machine in the hotel. Rather long walk to the beach, at least to the better one. Will definitely not go back.

Review 63：Cleaness, brekfast, staff at the reception, close to the railwaystation. The Animators at the hotel were fine, but have fairly long way to be very good. Might also consider to improve their English skills. This hotel seem to be good for Dutch.

Bedroom and Bathroom were clean, staff were very helpful, there were great facilities for kids (kids club, clown, evening mini disco, pool games, etc.) and the food was very tasty and a wide variety. The car park is pretty big and there will always be place. You need a code to get in and out of it. The hotel is located at the end of the busy sea front strip, so it it generally nice and quiet.

Review 73：The buffet was ok. I'm a vegetarian, they did have options forvegetarian but all the labels on the dishes were wrong. Their vegetariandishes had pork or fish in it. Main dishes had no flavour at all. Mylittle one survived on chips and fruit. Hubby is a meat lover hedidn't enjoy any of the dishes. My eldest eats just about anythingshe enjoyed each and everything so I'm glad we took the half board.For 10 euros you would be stupid, not to take the half board for thewhole family. I was told this hotel is a four star, Now I'm notsaying it's a bad hotel but it was not like a 4 star. Especially thefood was nothing like 4 star!

Review 96：The system in restaurant was horrible. I was 8 times in Santa Susanna in other hotels, but I have never seen it before. There was such a small space in restaurant, tables were so close to other tables, so you almost eat with strangers, or they sit you straight to strangers, which is very uncomfortable. Also they did not let my boyfriend to the restaurant because he did not have long trousers (it was a summer holiday and outside was really hot), because he had just three-quarter pants, so he had to borrow long trousers on reception, which was really embarrassing. But women could go there with really short shorts with cartoon printing and sleeveless t-shirt. If there is a dress code it should be applied for everybody. Also wifi and parking code is for free but if you will not ask for it they will not give it authomaticly like in other hotels. TV control was for fee - in this age it is strange. And also there were not main stairs, so you had to wait for elevator (not very well set) every time.

Review 97：Very nice hotel with great location (near to sea, train station, shops and restaurants), friendly personal. Also e-mail communication with this hotel was realy great (we wanted to have a room on upper floor with sea view and they met the requirement very willingly). Room was nice, clean, towels were changed regularly. Food in restaurant was the best I have ever eaten in hotel restaurants. There were so much food to choose and they did specialties every day (sea fish specialties, sushi, caviar, chocolate fountain, pizza of your choice and much more).

Review 101：Charging for water in the restaurant and the silly system of having to buy tickets for your drinks before you went in. This causes queues at reception and as we arrived just before dinner we had to wait 15 mins to check in. Pool a little small for size of hotel. Entertainment not great, but not a problem for us.

Rooms good size and hotel was spotless. Santa susanna is a nice little resort with a good market each evening. Well done for not letting people put towels down to reserve sunbeds. Charging 1-80 to reserve meant that we did not have to get up at dawn to reserve a bed!

Review 103：WiFi signal is very weak in the room. There is only one English speaking channel available. Dinner food is not high quality every day (I expect more than BBQ chicken wings from a 4-star hotel). Grill section is not well organised and waiting times are long.

Review 104：Hotel room was fairly spacious, we've loved the sea view and the terrace. Noise insulation is excellent, once terrace door is closed you can't hear the entertainment from the other hotel. Airconditioning is working perfectly. Room was clean and kept clean during our stay. Staff is friendly and helpfull. Location is good, as the beaches are just cca. 100 m, all public transportation stops in front of the hotel, Malgrat de Mar is cca. 20 mins walk, so if you would like to go out it is possible. Breakfast choices are good.

Hotel rented towels for the pool and beach use, price 1e/pcs for the whole stay was very good. Free wifi. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choises and a cook who made fresh omelettes and pancakes.

Review 113：- Loud music in the late evening from musical show held outside (we were on the fifth floor). Receptionist was very understanding but they were not able to move us to other room as the hotel was full. Luckily, on other nights there was not live music and the shows were not as loud.
