Reviews for Tallink Express Hotel
Review 1:Hotel was overcrowded in new year holidays: duration of time for breakfast is not enough, many people leave restaurant area without breakfast... There is no mat in the shower, no towel for legs
Review 2:Location is good: close to Old Town (5-7 min) soup menu in lunch time (a good choice of soups for good price). Personal is multi language :)
Review 3:throw the window we felt wind and there were no fridge.
Review 4:Everything up to expectations - simple hotel that caters to needs of short-time guests. Clean, comfy, good breakfast (and lunch/dinner), great parking and reliable wifi. 5 minutes walk to Old Town
Review 5:Breakfast is quite poor, small breakfast room - hard to find a seat during peak times. No minibar in the room, drinking water costs €1 per bottle. If you want to use the spa center in the neighbouring hotel, there are no bathrobes and you have to buy slippers.
Review 6:Located in 15 minutes walk from the Old Town. Price/quality is ok.
Review 7:Bad sound insulation in the hotel. At night we heard that other couples were doing in their rooms :( we stayed with the kid, so in the early morning I think they also heard the cry of our baby.
Review 8:Great location, friendly stuff
Review 9:No minuses for this stay.
Review 10:Everythng up to expectations - simple hotel that caters to needs of short-time guests. Clean, comfy, good breakfast (and lunch/dinner), great parking and reliable wifi. 5 minutes walk to Old Town.
Review 11:The worst breakfast I ever seen. No attention to customer needs. Despite my calls to recepction Group of young people made party all night shouting, knocking doors, in the corridor too. You hear every whisper out of your room. I asked for a warm water at 22:30 and I was refused.
Review 12:Location
Review 13:Between 8-9am there is no chance to eat breakfast as it is too many people, lack of plates and cutlery
Review 14:Near to the sea, good place to stay if you want to visit whole Tallin
Review 15:-
Review 16:The most comfy mattress ever! Just as close to Old Town as to the ferry port, good location. The room had a simple but cute design, it was kept clean, tidy. Breakfast selection was satisfying, they've got some tasty crumble cake. Good value for money.
Review 17:Breakfast was of limited choice, the taste was bland. The bread was included however the bread rolls had to be paid for as an additional charge.
Review 18:This hotel is situated in a good place near the port area. There was also free parking.Thereception check in was very quick and the staff friendly and polite. The room was spacious, very clean. In general the hotel is reasanoble, clean and tidy. One was that I was changed for a small bottle of mineral water in the room, where I feel that this should be free
Review 19:The breakfast is served only from 07:00. Too late if you are going to take ferry to Helsinki,
Review 20:The location is perfect - 10 min to/from the Tallink ferry and old town. Despite I was leaving the hotel at 06:00 (before breakfast buffet is served) anyway i got light breakfast.
Review 21:Late night there is some drunk people in the bar.
Review 22:The hotel is very well located close to the Port and to Tallinn old town entrance. The building is new and very clean. Also there is a nice restaurant. We arrived very early morning and, even if the checkin time was at 2pm, they gave us a room so we could rest. Additionally, since we departed very early in the next day, they allowed us to take the breakfast on the arrival day. The staff was very helpfull and nice.
Review 23:Bathroom did not make the impression of cleanness. The water was coming outside of the shower cabin. Poor sound proof.
Review 24:Close to the historical center and the sea port, good breakfast.
Review 25:very loud drunk people during the night. I was staying there on two different weekends and it was the same problem both times. I was woken up every night because of their yelling in front of the rooms.
Review 26:soup gallery during the day in the restaurant, good location
Review 27:The Tallink Express hotel is the hotelgroup of the Tallink Ferry Lines. The morning I got out of bed to catch the first ferry from Tallinn to Heksinki there was no coffee or breakfast ready. It would be better if they make it available earlier so people who book the hotel & ferry (Both Tallink) can have breakfast.
Review 28:Very cosy room
Review 29:There wasn't a kettle in the room. If the window is open, you can hear the noise from the street, because of intensive traffic to/from the ferry terminal.
Review 30:It's very good location of the hotel: between the passenger port and oldtown of Tallinn. Free parking. The staff was polite, the room was clean, the breakfast was good.
Review 31:very close to port for ferries use, privat parking, good deal for using the spa in the nearby hotel from the same chain and a restorant with a choice of soups.
Review 32:The breakfast was ok, but could have had more vegetarian/vegan foods and perhaps a fruit salad/fruits and muesli (as I remember it had only cornflakes).
Review 33:Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, good value for the price, good loction when heading to the port or airport (direct city bus).
Review 34:Once you enter breakfast zone it becomes awful. Tables not cleaned, lots of food everywhere on tables, ground etc. Staff is not helpfull at all (asked to take away dirty dishes 2 times, but no help. Had to put them on the windowsill).
Review 35:Good location, clean and cosy rooms.
Review 36:Very poor sound isolation - we could hear everything that was going on outside (thankfully we had a room facing the back yard), in the hallway and neighboring rooms. Bad WiFi.
Review 37:Pancakes at breakfast. Convenient location next to old town and ferry port. Free parking. Huge mirrors in room and bathroom.
Review 38:Hotel was too hot - no way of regulating temperature. Some mornings breakfast was very dis-organised, running our of crockery and cutlery, Food average.
Review 39:As we arrived in Tallin by ferry the location was very good. Nice quiet bedrooms.
Review 40:Absolutely perfect place!!!! I have been here already before some years ago, now its been renovated and its perfect!!! Price, staff, room - everything!!! I really suggest it !!!
Review 41:Staff a bit slow at the crowded breakfast: items ran out (like plates and glasses), but it took awhile to get more.
Review 42:Location is perfect for one-night stay after a late boat trip. New hotel, clean rooms, comfortable beds. Parking place (not guarded) in front of the hotel. Very good hotel for a drive-through of Tallinn. If you want to see the town, you may want to stay in the center. Breakfast was fine.
Review 43:We didn't appreciate very much breakfast, but it's OK for the required price. The only thing we really didn't like is the trick with the bottle of water on the table of the room, that costs 1 euro. In our eyes, better would be either to not put this bottle at all, or to make it free. Because the white paper with the price undo the water is not the first thing you see when taking it, so you're somehow prevented from your consumer' choice.
Review 44:Hotel is located between sea-port and old city's gates, just near the great 70-s-fashion Tallinn Hall building. We enjoyed its comfort and design, in general our stay there was pretty good.
Review 45:Noisy parties at the front yard into early hours sounded like they were next to our window due to sound carrying up. Because the hotel has no air conditioning we had to have the window open. So, either hot or noisy!
Review 46:Bathroom was lovely, location wonderful for getting everywhere on foot. Staff very helpful
Review 47:it's so close to helsinki tallinn line of ferry, so if you opened your window, you will wake up at 5.00 and so on. ppl will go back and forth, bus will unload noisy russian women in front of your window :) and etc. bed is too narrow, but I have managed to stay on it.
Review 48:place, brekfast (pancakes :) ), staff, close free parking
Review 49:All accommodations were great. The food quality in the breakfast was very good; however, there were always long lines of people to get food or drink. Better organization could take care of the line problems in a snap. Try separating the coffee and tea from the juices to start. Why should anyone have to wait for someone getting juice when all they want is coffee? The latté machine was also holding up people who only wanted regular drip coffee; drip coffee is quick to get. I finally just gave up getting any. Then have people bus their own tables when they leave; then the waitress would have more time to restalk plates, etc. Try putting the cold items like yogurt and muesli in a different area away from the hot items, etc. People will go where they need to go quickly and the lines will disappear. Scandinavia is known for their efficiency; check any group breakfast system in the other countries and you will see how it's done.
Review 50:Wifi did not work during our 1 night stay (some known problem, they are working on we've been told). Soundproofing is non-existent. You literally hear everything going on in adjacent rooms.
Review 51:The location is great if you need to take first Tallink ferry to Helsinki in the morning - right in the harbour. Old city is 10-15 minutes by feet - quite good. The room is clean, the staff is willing to help - draw us a map how to drive to a ferry and gave a takeaway breakfast as we could not have a buffet breakfast in time due to an early check-out (5 am)
Review 52:Wi-Fi never worked! Not any single minute! Was very noisy. Our neightbors on the floor organized some kind a party with loud music on for the whole day and kept their door opened. Also it was dozens of kids running EVERYWHERE. I think they were in some kind of sport events (its not the fault of hotel, but i will never stay there knowing the fact that it gonna look like a scoupcamp. may be it was just a wrong time).
Review 53:Worth the price. Newly renovated, nicely-designed room, good bed. Location near the dock and in the same time - close to the center.
Review 54:The shower gel in my room ran out half way through my stay and was never replaced
Review 55:Location was superb, near the old town, and bus from airport stopped about 200m away. Room was clean and comfortable and represented good value for money
Review 56:poor WiFi-connection, often not available for hours. you had to be lucky to obtain an available IP address. The bathroom was not cleaned and swiped regularly and properly enough. lack of hygiene at the breakfast buffet.
Review 57:the location is fantastic - short distance walk to the town center and a great view to the port. good value for money.
Review 58:The TV was a bit crazy as we watched VH1 the sound was sent throughout the tv before and then stopped. The wireless internet connection could be better/stronger or even repaird on the higher floors. Bitter breakfast staff. Just a little more minus for the dry-cleaning services that they took/ take so long time for a pair of pants...The dissapointment when asking for a cup of tea late at night and they don't have those services, only selling beer and sodas in the reception.Went several times to fix my key-card as it stopped working holding it near a phone.
Review 59:Breakfast was delicious and plenty of variation. Soupbuffet later on for 5 euros! The Hairdryer in the room. Room was warm enough, aswell as the warm water and shower. In order a pretty good hotel with a good location. Could work on few things! :)
Review 60:wifi is not that fast and sometimes need to stay in lobby to use internet
Review 61:good location with good price,3 min.walk to the habor where you can take the ferry to Helsinki.etc and not far away from old town, only 10 mins by walk. breakfast is just ok which make you not feel hungry.worth the price
Review 62:During week days breakfast runs only until 10am.
Review 63:Very central - five minute walk to the heart of the centre and another five minute walk to the docks. Big, nicely decorated room with wifi and a big TV. Breakfast had variety and was buffet self service.
Review 64:There is no fridge, slippers and bathrobe. bad audibility. Crouds of tourists who leave for shipping terminal
Review 65:good breakfast, cosy room, close to the Old town
Review 66:The facility is just sort of "old feeling" or dumpy. You're next to the Tallink business building and the Tallink Hotel with Spa so it sort of adds to the feel of the Express Hotel being the "far lesser" of the three.
Review 67:If you're just looking for a good location with moderate facilities for the money...this place is fine. It is close enough to Old Town and to the boat ports. Staff doesn't have much personality, but not rude, and the daytime all you can eat Soup buffet is nice.
Review 68:If a coach party was leaving, there was a queue at breakfast. The were some rough areas within quick walking distance.
Review 69:A basic hotel that ticks all the boxes: near the port and old town, clean, warm, on-suite facilities, WiFi, international TV and breakfast.
Review 70:Not so easy to find a tram or bus to International Bus station. We were waiting long for tram no.2 to the Bus station and found out that the tram was not in service any more. So we must took the other tram and took a taxi to catch the Bus on time! getting a taxi from hotel will be much easier.
Review 71:The hotel is fine, not far from the ferry terminal.Breakfast is good.
Review 72:Restaurant/cafe at the hotel was very expencive and food was similar to what would be served in a gas-station cafe or worse and more expencive.
Review 73:Close to the harbor, free parking
Review 74:Room cleaning time is at about 11 am, the cleaners didn't speak English, so it was difficult to explain them, that I want to have a shower and ask them to come 1 hour later. Get yourself some slippers, cuz in the shower you'll have to stand on the floor.
Review 75:The rooms were clean and fresh, nice beds, personal shower, the breakfast was kinda ordinary, but balanced and still great for the price. The stuff is friendly, speaks English and Russian.
Review 76:location is great 5 mins walk from the Old town, easy to get from the airport or coach station by tram or bus. staff is very helpful, breakfast is nice, WiFi works properly, comfortable rooms, nice design. Will definitely stay again!
Review 77:Very convenient for the Old Town and free parking an added bonus. Rooms are dated, as is the decor, but comfortable enough, tho a fridge would be an improvement. Breakfast standard Baltic fare, cafe mediocre (a more upmarket restaurant next door at Tallink Spa Hotel).
Review 78:It is a bit dodgy area, there isn't any stores nearby.
Review 79:Really helpful staff at the reception, close to the old town. Had a good sleep with nice bed.
Review 80:It was too hot on the 4th floor under the roof. When I came out I sent a message that I should pay once more but everything was paid.
Review 81:The location is good and the price was reduced.
Review 82:Breakfast, not bad on average (could be better, coffee was terrible), but be aware of rush hour!
Review 83:Wi-Fi was free an easy to setup Bed was comfortable enough for one night Bathroom OK Not too far from the Old Town
Review 84:as expected by type of hotel and price
Review 85:a standard chain budget hotel close to the old town free parking in a pay and display carpark good wifi signal cable tv decent sized breakfast buffet
Review 86:Breakfast staff not always nice and it was often missing something (eg. Forks or knives), no air conditioning in the rooms and it was not possible to have both open window and dark in the room
Review 87:Great solution for a stay in Tallin: Just a few minutes walking from the old town and to the harbor, clean, staff very nice and helpful at the reception, free and always available parking in front of the hotel
Review 88:Hotel reception staff do not provide adequate information was very gloomy mood, always had poker face. Staff did not have time to handle the breakfast table, to bring clean containers... The room was very noisy!! Very close to our window was another building, from which emanated nonstop noise. When it's hot, a room don't have even air fan.
Review 89:The location is good. The room had a separate place for one child to sleep for free! Room was comfortable. Liuba cleans the room very good! Parking is free!
Review 90:- Fitted carpet was not nice in the room. My friend is really allergic. - Hair dryer didn't work at all in the room.
Review 91:- Room was big enough as it was a family room
Review 92:The windows didn't open completly. This can be annoying in hot days.
Review 93:The hotel is very well located. Close to old town and the harbors. Very good deal for weekends and short terms. Wifi is fast and stable in all areas.
Review 94:Hotel was clean and tidy. Rooms were modern. Rooms has no air-con and there was no fan so was very hot in the night. Wifi is almost non-existent as there must be too many guest trying to get online. Perhaps another internet portal is needed.
Review 95:Nothing.
Review 96:Nice and clean rooms. There are shopping centers and markets close to the hotel. 5-10 mins walk to old town. Also the soups in the cafe are tasty. Excellent value for money.
Review 97:Wi-Fi signal was really low, sometimes disappeared at all. Some mornings for brekfast it was difficult to find a seat because of amount of people... but i think finally everyone had its place ;-)
Review 98:Really nice place for it's price! Standard european 3 stars hotel. Can't stop wondering how nice it is placed: two steps to old town, port, trade centers. We were given the room at the end of the corridor so no sounds were heard. Room was nice sunny and comfortable with all nesessary in, including hair dryer. Rooms were cleaned daily. For brekfast was standard european buffet, not that much various but more then enough not to be hungry till lunch: eggs, sausages, cheese, flakes, porriges, vegetables, tea, coffee, juices etc.
Review 99:Poor options for breakfast; In the middle of night somebody try to force the door ("probably a smoked guy" was the only reaction of the receptionist next day).
Review 100:Located very close to the old town ('fat Berta' tower) and the harbour; The room was comfortable and clean.
Review 101:Nothing
Review 102:The room was comfortable and it was very warm in the hotel!
Review 103:Breakfast was avarage, everything else was very good.
Review 104:Good breakfast, near Old Town
Review 105:Breakfest was poor.
Review 106:Good location, free parking.
Review 107:Old carpets.
Review 108:Colors.
Review 109:Breakfast could have been a bit better.
Review 110:Very close to the oldtown. Cheap. Has a convenient parking lot.
Review 111:really good value for money
Review 112:constructions were going on, so you could hear everything from the street. as well, there were lots of distractions with wifi connection
Review 113:Breakfast
Review 114:security staff always moaning
Review 115:reception staff were very helpful
Review 116:It's far from everything besides the ferry
Review 117:comfortable hotel - if only it wasn't a hike to get to everywhere you want to be .
Review 118:everything ok, no complains...
Review 119:No electric kettle in room,. Otherwise, great!
Review 120:The hotel is very close to the ferry terminals and in walking distance of the Old City.
Review 121:Very close to the harbour but outside the old city
Review 122:Staff at the reception was very helpful
Review 123:To send e-mails with my email program was impossible, but otherwise wi-fi worked well.
Review 124:Breakfast very basic and crowded, noisy at night (when window is open because of absence air conditioning)
Review 125:Location, cleanness
Review 126:Clean and bright hotel. Very good location between old town and harbor.
Review 127:Very comfy beds, slept great.
Review 128:Lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room.
Review 129:Ease of checking in. Staff very welcoming.
Review 130:Rooms to the street side a bit loud
Review 131:Good location, close to the old town and harbour
Review 132:I found bed bugs in my bed. It was horrible. I have travelled a lot and that was the first time that happened a thing like that to me. disgusting.
Review 133:Some staff are unpleasant to deal with.
Review 134:Location of Hotel
