Reviews for Hotel Castillo

Review 1:This place is a gem. Beautiful room with amazing views over Alquzar and the national park. It's new on the inside but retains the charm of the town. Downstairs was a little shop where we could buy cheese and wine and sit on our balcony and soak up the vista. The staff were very helpful in discussing the local hikes which were suited to our ability. Overall highly recommended!

Review 2:Loved the balcony, view and the room. The staff were helpful and welcoming. Alquezar was wonderful and Hotel Castillo was an excellent hotel - Very new, warm and friendly. We would highly recommend, especially our room, which was the "Alquezrana".

Review 3:Stunning views from windows and balcony (church, castle, medieval town, river gorge, hills); setting in medieval town; helpful staff and nice breakfast; lovely and clean room; A/C

Review 4:suggest parking at the main lot as you approach - driving up the narrow steep cobblestone streets was terrifying in a manual car.

Review 5:Staff were very helpful in organizing wine tasting. Breakfast was a real value with fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, etc. Great views from the balcony.

Review 6:Nothing at all! Everything was perfect for us.

Review 7:The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room we stayed in had magnificent views on three sides, of the valley, the old fortress and the town. Remarkably, we could watch various birds of prey circling over the valley every morning from the balcony. The wonderful breakfast was extremely tasty and excellent value for money. All in all, our stay was a very memorable experience and the perfect place to stay for a few nights of relaxation and peace.

Review 8:Nothing

Review 9:Arriving late evening on a flight from Newcastle. Usual awful scenario with car hire, but less than a mile to the hotel, and we still had time to sit outside and enjoy a drink. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was excellent, and set us up for our 3 hour drive to the villa.

Review 10:This hotel was wonderful, the best on our 15 day trip. Though you have to walk into town since it allows very few vehicles, it is worth the walk. Our room was expertly furnished, air-conditioned, and had a wonderful modern bathroom. The view was spectacular! My husband asked the staff if they could do his laundry and it was back within three hours. The hotel recently underwent a renovation and the results are impressive. Well worth the money to stay here.

Review 11:I told reception that I would be checking out early in the morning and would not be able to make breakfast. To my pleasant surprise, they called me in my room and asked if I would like to have a sandwich, etc left for me in a bag down at the reception desk. I was delighted.

Review 12:That my family and friends were there to enjoy it with me. Always handy to find a gem for the future though!

Review 13:All facilities were highest spec, the breakfast was exceptional and all locally produced, the hotel was spotlessly clean throughout - I am very strict on this so wouldn't write that easily - and the staff were always available. Also very handy that the local shop which was small but somehow had everything from sewing needles to a charcuterie, was next door and run by the family. I believe the only reason this isn't a five star is because the is no restaurant (as it is not needed) and no pool (as no room within the paradise of its setting and it is not needed due to everyone wishing to swim going to the superb local pool). They are a new hotel and I believe it will not be long before the are awarded more stars. I travel frequently and believe my standards to be very hard to impress. Hotel Castillo exceeded my expectations.

Review 14:Location. Friendliness of Staff. Very good breakfast. Located next door to convenience store for maps, guides, food, wine etc.. Hotel happy to store our bikes and made good recommendations for restaurants.

Review 15:Carefully styled suite with magnificent view on the castle and town! The best location ever (even if we had already some experience in 5* hotels). Very friendly staff and a delicious breakfast. Everything was magic!
