Reviews for Hotel Rickmers' Insulaner

Review 1:1. Bathroom very small and crowded, toilet extremely low, sink also; impossible to get tank for coffee maker very full 2. Bathroom fan made a terrible whine

Review 2:1. Great location, easy walk to ferry and boats 2. Beautiful view of harbor and the neighboring island Düne from room 3. Very good restaurant, good breakfast 4. Relatively quiet, occasional noise from other rooms sliding doors etc. 5. WiFi included, good reception in room, and secured with password, not open

Review 3:A wonderful hotel facing the sea and locating close to the hill. A very friendly staff. The see foods (not in the hotel, but close to the hotel) from the Rickmer's family (better to ask the staff)!

Review 4:No bad experiences but one would not have expected that in just 2 days.

Review 5:Cleanliness of the place, no cars so no pollution. Simple way of life. Ideal in many ways.

Review 6:Everything. Helgoland calls and beckons. Rickmers is fantastic to stay. Very helpful and friendly staff. Always excellent room. Delightful rear gardens and located right on promenade.

Review 7:Paid extra for room with seaview: Got room on ground floor, 1 m from reception and entrance (Privacy!) with big "Strandkorb" obstructing the view from the inside. Safe was unuseable as not attached to anything. Curtain too short so we woke up at 6.30 am from the sun light. Generally room clearly needs maintenance with sockets falling from wall. Not well isolated. Check out at 10.30, even on day when ferries did not go due to bad weather and no new guests to arrive

Review 8:location

Review 9:Wi-Fi was quirky, and fell out several times, this affected not only our own wifi-connection, but stopped the hotel reception from checking people in or out. The hotel restaurant is over-priced and the menu given in the room brochure did not exist. Restaurant staff was chaotic and slow, no assigned tables so that we had to make orders from up to three different persons before anything happened.

Review 10:We got a spacious room with a view on the harbour Comfortable beds and Space enough to sit. The hotel made up the sofa as a bed since I was travelling with my old cousin, so she could have the bed alone.

Review 11:Broken window blind, broken wastebasket in bathtroom, dirty towel. This is not 4 star in my book. No balcony or patio.

Review 12:Excellent breakfast buffet. Comfy beds.

Review 13:Sometimes, the service in the restauraunt was quite slow, but that is all.

Review 14:We liked the fact that it was so close to the beach and near the shops, so that you could get anywhere you needed to easily. The other enjoyable fact about it was that you could reach the steps to the `Oberland `and go to the boats in only a few minutes. The view was also positively astounding from all hotel windows, and we loved to sleep in the comfortable beds. All furniture, inside your hotel room or outside, is clean and you supply clean utensils, thus keeping to a good hygiene code. The restauraunt has a great variety of food and drinks, including healthy foods as well. We liked the fact that you have your own buffet, and that is nice since you don´t have to stick with what is brought on the menu. We greatly enjoyed our visit.

Review 15:Friendly helpfull staff Room and facilities very good

Review 16:Had been there 36 years ago and the blend of the old and new is really charming and honest.

Review 17:third floor, no elevator, room under the roof, too expensive.

Review 18:Excellent breakfast, friendly staff, clean room.

Review 20:lovely room. Great restaurant. Fantastic bar
