Reviews for Hotel Nordic
Review 1:the pool and jacuzzi were not warm enough. it could be because there were only 20 people in the hotel and they wanted to save energy but still not a good excuse.
Review 2:Went to the pool at 11.00 am there were no towels for use,no staff, and the jacuzzi was not running altough it was lovely and hot.The buffet food was very average.only coffee vending machines in the dining room.the water in the taps was brown, most off putting getting into the bath.where is all that lovely mountain water.there was no bottled water in the room, thank goodness I didn't drink water from the tap.
Review 3:Lovely room overlooking the slopes, the reception areas are fun, loved the bears! And the Christmas decorations! Drinks from the bar reasonably priced,
Review 4:Charged to use safe in the rooms. Have stayed in soldeu previously which has a lot more in the area in terms of shops, restaurants and bars and prefer the children's ski class area. Just a tip if booking ski school, ski passes and ski hire, pre book prior to arrival as it works out much more expensive to book when in resort.
Review 5:Can ski straight to hotel, good food, and bowling/games room good for kids. Rooms were great and staff serving food very good. Couldn't fault the hotel or staff.
Review 6:Bath water very brown and dirty. After complaining 4 times we were offered a room where the water was 'less brown'. Staff promised the manager would contact us but not heard anything after nearly 2 weeks.
Review 7:Location, food.
Review 8:the swimming-pool is tiny and my room was just above the noisy double sliding-doors of the entrance. Too bad when all I was longing for was some quiet time on my own.
Review 9:very nice hotel. The food was fine.
Review 10:This is an expensive hotel and the points listed below should have been included automatically in the price, without question *No tea/coffee making facilities in room. *No free wifi in room. *Bathing cap required for use of pool...another expense.
Review 11:Bed and bathroom as you would expect from a hotel of this class...very plush. Great choice of foods for breakfast and evening meal
Review 12:Paid internet in rooms and poor Wifi connection in public areas.
Review 13:Very nice hotel with all commodities and next to the sky slopes. Good food in restaurant.
Review 14:Wi fi during peak times non existent, but we were prepared and brought actual games, cards, books and had real family time!
Review 15:Location, proximity to ski lockers and slopes, ease of half board, very reasonable drink prices by European standards.
Review 16:Lack of tea/coffee facilities in room. No mini bar. Having to pay for parking,WiFi,coffee after dinner.Plastic cups in Bathroom.
Review 17:Staff excellent, location superb. Food very good. Bar prices reasonable.
Review 18:Nothing!
Review 19:Great location, perfect for ski in, ski out, ski lockers a few steps from the snow. The staff, especially the restaurant manager were perfect, friendly and superbly efficient. We loved the whole thing!
Review 20:The beds were a bit small and narrow for people who are 6" tall
Review 21:The food range and quality was outstanding. The staff were very attentive and excellent
Review 22:I was at the hotel for 2 nights - no special conditions for making skiing for example there is no discount, no ski school, all the sites outside the hotel and did not belong to him So it's worth taking a cheap hotel and enjoy the same degree from the ski resort
Review 23:good
Review 24:As a vegetarian, the food is a bit limiting.
Review 25:The views are as beautiful in the summer as in the ski season. The staff are as attentive, with some even remembering us from Christmas. September certainly didn't feel like it had that out of season feel at the hotel.
Review 26:Great value ,great position to slopes, great facilities .no overpriced drinks !!! Hotel to return to.
Review 27:Not a four star hotel service Charging for room safe No coffee after dinner
Review 28:Position Comfort
Review 29:Very nice view! And new hotel love it. Definitely coming back
Review 30:Excellent spacious rooms with brilliant food. Very comfortable and superb service from the staff, in particular Albert on reception.
Review 31:Only free WiFi in the bar.
Review 32:Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Great staff and food, would highly recommend.
Review 33:everything else: rudeness of staff, absence of service, bad paying wifi, no bathrobe, no minibar, puny swimming pool, bad food....
Review 34:localisation
Review 35:Dinner - Too crowded Buffet Even water in Dinner is Extra
Review 36:Location on the slopes - excellent! Comfortable rooms Nice building
Review 37:none
Review 38:location
Review 39:Everything was amazing. Lovely place
Review 40:the confort
Review 41:the location
Review 42:Lots of hidden charges like drinks in the buffet, safe box, lockers, WiFi...
Review 43:Very near to the slopes, good food.
Review 44:Food not ok Indoor pool closed Water from tap very brown Rooms worn out and outdated
Review 45:Location
Review 46:Charging for wifi in this class of hotel is irksome. Worse, one isrequired to pay for each tablet/laptop etc.,even if only one isbeing used at a time.Multiple passwords required for different sectionsof the public area.
Review 47:Stayed here several times in 10 years; this time of year the hotel isgeared to the coach-tour trade. So food basic but reasonable andplentiful. Great to see the classic cars still in the lobby.
Review 48:Entertainment was good but was sometimes loud as you could still hear it in the room.
Review 49:Perfect location with direct access to slopes. Ski lockers and rental all easy and good value. Buffet breakfast was excellent and nightly Dinner was good with a varied selection. Drinks were exceptionally cheap and terrace was perfect for relaxing in the sun after a hard days skiing.
Review 50:Three things: Hot food could be better Wi-Fi is poor and insuficient In a four stars hotel the safety box in the room must be free.
Review 51:Location Staff Cold food Breakfast
Review 52:what we didn't like was the quality of the food. It is supplied in abundance but lacks quality of preparation. with one third of the now offered variety and some more care;iitseems to me easy to raise the quality and at the same time save on cost of preparation but most of all stop the enormous waste of not eaten food!
Review 53:we loved the location, comfort, helpfullness of all staff, closeness of skirental, direct access to skilifts, total indoor passage to skilockers.
Review 54:Was a little quiet, but that was only because it was the end of season, although this was made up for by an excellent Halloween party on our last night which coincided with a Spanish bank holiday and subsequent influx of guest....brilliant!
Review 55:The hotel was clean and kept in excellent order. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bar was reasonably priced and the restaurant had an excellent selection even thought the hotel was quiet as in between seasons. The classic motorcycle collection and the two classic cars on display was of interest to me. We would stay at this hotel again.
Review 56:Be prepared for large groups appearing via bus. Also groups of kids at a party taking over the pool and lobby area.
Review 57:Great location, lovely rooms. Very good buffet breakfast and dinner.
Review 58:The dinner buffet and the Breakfast were terrible and did not match the rest of the hotel. Because of the bad food we cannot recommend this hotel to others.
Review 59:Meal times could do with starting earlier as 8am for breakfast and 8pm for dinner is an hour later than I would have liked.
Review 60:Hotel was easy to find, very very clean, very close to the ski run, nice sized room, attractive and luxurious inside the hotel, very helpful reception staff, very polite and efficient waiters, all friendly, fantastic facilities, great views from all rooms. Varied selection of food each day, drinks were cheap, even in the restaraunt. Ski rental shop in the hotel is the best place to rent in all of El Tartar, Soldeu and pas de la casa, I visited many shops in search of the skis I prefer and they had the best selection with all skis being sharpened/waxed as they should be.
Review 61:disco party for elderly people with one combo band... at 23 o'clock it was over, so no prob! no alternative for some real partying.
Review 62:closeness to the ski slope very friendly service personal good variety and changing of food (buffet in general is no realy my favourit but this one was good) nice atmosphare in the hotel, well done
Review 63:Staff in self service restaurant is VERY attentive, plates are removed within seconds of finishing. Shame as otherwise the experience is very pleasant
Review 64:Direct access to slopes Everything very well laid out Good buffet
Review 65:The bar area was usually cold and could really do with a roaring fire inthe winter. Maybe I'm just not a big fan of buffet style eating butit seemed like everyone was prowling around the serving area as if itwas going to be their last meal and if they didn't grab somethingquick there would be no food left! Relaxing it wasn'T. Apart fromthat, at breakfast, there is only one coffee machine to serve the entirehotel so there was always a queue of about 10 people just to get a cupof coffee.
Review 66:The ski-in, ski-out access was great, the ski storage worked well also.
Review 67:Thought staff at reception could have been bit more friendly and patient with weary traveller !
Review 68:Loved location and design of hotel . Very comfortable and relaxing . Enjoyed buffet meals as they cater for all tastes . Friendly staff in the restaurant and friendly cleaning staff. This was my third visit to nordic and I hope to make a return visit .
Review 69:No family rooms or interconnecting doors to turn two rooms into a familyroom. Very noisy in the evenings so possibly not good for youngchildren. Hotel needs to warn people of potential road closures in badweather. Staff made no effort to help when phoning for advice, missed adays stay and had 300k detour due to road from France being closed.Staff quite rude when booking in, kept answering phone and dealing withother queries whilst we were at the desk.
Review 70:Nice rooms, clean, good food. Excellent location for ski in and out.Good facilities although pool very small. Nice lobby/bar area.
Review 71:Triple rooms aren't great if you have an older child (just a bit too small)
Review 72:Apartments are great and give you slightly more room Great for ski-in, ski-out
Review 73:Wifi service was patchy, no wifi service in the apartments. No hair dryer in apartment. Thin walls in apartments, can hear everything happening in the next apartment, very annoying!
Review 74:Very good selection of food for dinner, amazing magician! Good bar service, spacious lobby area, friendly people around.
Review 75:There is nothing not to like about Hotel Nordic
Review 76:For me, the best thing about the Nordic is its true ski-in, ski-outlocation. There is a 4 man chair just 50 m or so from the back doorgiving access to the excellent Grandvalira circuit with two blue and oneblack runs to ski back on. I have stayed here several times and keepcoming back despite trying the big name resorts such as 3 Valleys,Espace Killy, Arlberg etc. As a bonus the hotel is modern and stylishwith well appointed rooms, spotlessly clean, all-you-can-eat good foodand pleasant, helpful attentive staff. In summary this hotel isbrilliant. Excellent for couples and families.
Review 77:Bedrooms are too noisy, you can hear noises from bedrooms around you
Review 78:Excellent location and convenience for the practice of ski, direct access to the ski slopes
Review 79:The barman! Most of the time he was just not there (football on T.v!)and not a smile ever. The inflexibility of the restaurant - didn'topen for dinner until 8 pm and we were not allowed to havecoffee/tea at the table afterwards, even offering to pay extra. Onemorning I sat on the outside terrace (I had injured my leg) with acoffee - brought by barman, and nearly cold. He then put on rap music soloudly I nearly fell off my chair. I was the only person on the terraceand extremely mature (old) so I asked him if he thought that wassuitable music for me. After 10 mins of switching it off, he put it onagain, and I just had to go back to my room to get away from it. We felt(family of 6, 4 adults and 2 teenagers, one of which is at HotelManagement College in Amsterdam) that the staff is inexperienced, or thementality is definitely not to serve clients.
Review 80:Proximity to ski lifts, excellent breakfasts and evening meals. Verygood catering for large groups. Rooms airy and nice. Bathrooms withbath/shower and nice toiletries. Manuella on reception very helpfulalthough she was very often on her own and busy.
Review 81:It was all we asked for.
Review 82:This beautifully built and appointed hotel is perfectly situated for a late summer/autumn break in this lovely country. A stunning blend of pine, granite and slate the facilities are serviced and cleaned by a friendly and dedicated team of staff. The buffet food service was of a good quality and the restaurant staff efficient and friendly. The vintage cars and motorcycles around the foyer added a lovely touch.
Review 83:Our holiday choice was to spend time in the Pyrenees & after surfing the Internet the Hotel Nordic in Andorra appeared to have all of our needs & this proved to be correct. It is a lovely hotel in a good location & we enjoyed the scenic walks in the area.
Review 84:The Wifi conncetion has a bad signal and is slow.
Review 85:The hotel is excellent if you are on a ski vacation - great ski in - ski out. The breakfast buffet and dinner buffet are perfect for children and was also delicious for adults. Our room was very clean and comfortable.
Review 86:The location of the hotel, just on the base of the ski slopes with direct access to 2 mechanical means to get to the ski resort of Grandvalira make this hotel the perfect spot for skiers/snowboarders, although a bit expensive but still afordable. The buffet is perfect for families with young kids because of variety and choice.
Review 87:You are required to pay the entire weeks bill before you even get a keyto your room. Everything was pay first and as a result the servicedidn't matter as they already had your money.Bar man was more interested in the football on the TV than serving clients. Their Ski shop was even worse, high prices, poor equipment and no service culture. If this had of been a 2 star hotel then I would have not been so disappointed but it claims 4 stars.
Review 88:Good location
Review 89:Pool was cold. Not enough locker space or heating in locker room Havingto queue for dinner, maybe open the restaurant earlier? 7.30Pm is quitelate for people with smaller children?
Review 90:Ski in/ski out, leisure facilities, food, cant fault it
Review 91:Reception unhelpful when persistant problem with key cards for ski lockers, pool too small
Review 92:Location, restaurant staff and food, ski facilities
Review 93:nothing
Review 94:everything
Review 95:Terrible smell, buffet dinner with poor quality meats, surley reception staff, non- working wifi.
Review 96:Location, drinks prices
Review 97:No signs on what the different types of meat are that are being served at the buffet.
Review 98:The staff
Review 99:Food Music Bar Bowling
Review 100:Quite hard to get a certain room when requested on numerous occassions
Review 101:Friendly Staff, Nice food with alot of choice and location
Review 102:pool and jucuzzi very cold, charges for sauna and bowling, limited english tv channels
Review 103:super location, good buffet, helpfull staff
Review 104:The food was average considering the price.
Review 105:Great location.one could ski to the door. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 106:Quiet.
Review 107:Did not have a play room with toys. Spa was not very good.
Review 108:Super friendly staff. Very nice rooms. Right next to ski lift.
