Review 3：Wow! A true gem. Situated in the centre of a picture postcard country village, full of very old half timbered buildings. The hotel being one of them. Run by the same family for over 400 years, it has been sympathetically renovated with all mod cons. There is even a small bowling alley downstairs. The restaurant and bar are popular with the local villagers. We had a wonderful bedroom, almost like a suite, comfortable beds, a good sized sitting area, with sofa, table, chairs, a separate lobby area containing the wardrobes and additional hanging space. The owners and their staff were fantastic, always happy and smiling, incredibly welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The locals are equally friendly and created a very convivial atmosphere. Very good generous breakfasts. The eggs are freshly cooked to your requirement, a varied range of cheeses, meats, wursts, jams and good breads. Restaurant meals were traditional German cuisine, with a daily changing regional speciality. Generous portions and very reasonable prices. The bar had a good choice of beers many from the brewery in nearby Uslar. An all round excellent experience. We can’t wait to return.
