Reviews for Siesta Mar Apartamentos
Review 1:The flies on the food, need linen cloths to cover everything up
Review 2:Location was excellent right next to the play area and asked to be near our family so was below them
Review 3:Sadly, due to the time of year, the facilities on site were predominantly closed. ie the poolside toilets, the on site restaurant. I wasn't aware of this when I booked. we had to ask for the waterslides to be put on, which they did but the previous day they said they were blocked.
Review 4:The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. The pools were clean and the grounds well tended. There were play areas for the children in view of our apartment which was great.
Review 5:We weren't told when we booked that the entire facilities would be closed. October school break and very quiet which was nice but paid for the facilities so a bit frustrating that they weren't available. Kids enjoyed it but would be awful for slightly older kids ie 10 upwards.
Review 6:Location was good and the Facilties were potentially good but we were at the end of the season so most things were closed.
Review 7:Nothing to write home about!
Review 8:Excellent location in Central Cala en Porter - easy access to all local amenities and just a short walk (down a long, steep staircase) to the beach front. Friendly staff, apartments were a little basic but clean and had all amenities required. fresh towels / bedding provided
Review 9:Breakfast was all inclusive which was useful but was low-medium quality
Review 10:Staff were fantastic, cheery and helpful. Rooms were basic but the location was well worth it.
Review 11:The breakfast was poor , not many choices for children. The wi-fi was limited for a few hours after breakfast and lunch and many times did n't work at all.
Review 12:The location was great and the apartment was not too far from the swimming pool and opposite the playground which my children enjoy very much
Review 13:We booked half board and were very disappointed with the food especially evening meal. Most of the food was luke warm and when fresher food was brought out it was tipped on top of the food that had been sat there the only thing we could say was ok was the pizza and even that was luke warm and as soon as it was put out it was taken by other guests. On a few occasions at breakfast and evening meal they ran out of plates and cutlery and was in no hurry the replace them. We ended up eating out for 4 nights out of the 7 as we couldn't face eating it and just ate pastries or toast at breakfast. We are in no means fussy eaters and will try most foods but I would not eat from there again.
Review 14:We stayed for 7 nights in a two bedroom apartment. The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable although a little dated we were very happy with it. We had two balconies one spacious balcony at the front of the property and a smaller one at the back. Maids were lovely and friendly and came to clean out apartment and change the beds 3 times throughout our stay. It was ideally located near a hotel that provides evening entertainment and various bars and restaurants. The pools were brilliant varying in depths so ideal for children. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely return but have room only instead of half board.
Review 15:The apartment is a bit tired. But it is a good value for money.
Review 16:The staff in this place are excellent. They are friendly and very helpful. The beach or steps to it are literally a two minute walk from the apartments. We managed t establish a good routine with our boys: beach in the morning, lunch at the apartment, pool in the afternoon. It worked very well for us. For the first time in 10 years we did not rent a car on a holiday.
Review 17:everything was very poor from the breakfast to the accomodation to the staff even mangement couldnt care less about anyone who speaks English
Review 18:absolutley nothing.Outdated complex and should be used as a last resort find something else if you can. There are no redeeming features.
Review 19:Receptionist attitude was appalling throughout the whole stay, not enough choice of food in an evening
Review 20:Pool area was lovely children fully enjoyed it, always able to get a sunbed.
Review 21:Toddlers & small children should not be allowed in the buffet area unattended Especially with hot coffee & food being carried , there could be an accident.Too much wastage of food which should be stopped.Sandwiches being made & taken out There should be a notice in Spanish saying no baguettes to be toasted, As it is holding up people who want to make toast.
Review 22:Breakfast & Dinner was good quality Restaurant Staff very helpful & pleasant.
Review 23:accidentally overcharged for accommodation but got sorted out :) the oven didn't work properly and furniture dilapidated
Review 24:The staff were great, friendly and helpful. The pool area was lovely. The apartments were spacious
Review 25:5 of the children we were on holiday with came down with ear infections so maybe the pool could be looked at.
Review 26:Maid service was very good. Location was good. Staff were all friendly. Good base for a nice family holiday.
Review 27:Overpriced £650 for 4 nights BB Restaurant Staff, generally miserable and done bare minimum. Comfortable spacious apartment with great view and location just a little dated and some staff didn't help
Review 28:Kids loved the pool area, slides, rock etc slightly dated. Guests were pleasant
Review 29:Nothing
Review 30:Everything, our first time in Menorca and would definitely go back, the location of the hotel is ideal, near the beach, restaurants and supermarket. Lovely little village. Tip - good idea to hire a car before you arrive as very easy to navigate the roads.
Review 31:Bed uncomfortable; bathroom needs updating and no window felt claustrophobic; not much privacy on the balcony - people walking past to use the stairs; kitchen equipment very basic; breakfast was chaotic
Review 32:Location very central; TV had good selection of music channels; fridge/freezer very handy; big balcony (although not much privacy) + smaller, rear one.
Review 33:Disappointed that there was no entertainment for children but still had a lovely time and would definately go back
Review 34:Fantastic holiday with my two young children, lovely accomadation and beautiful place.
Review 35:It is difficult to get around the island from this beach if you don't have a car (or scooter), as you need to get a bus to Mahon and then another bus to the different beaches. The buses are infrequent and don't connect! No wifi in the rooms.
Review 36:Siesta Mar is located very close to some beautiful swimming spots and beach and also easy walking distance to Cova de Xeroi. Apartments were basic and a little old, but clean and functional. Staff were helpful.
Review 37:steep walk and climb to nearest beach (did not mention when booking). no AC in aparment, although fans did do the trick.
Review 38:Nice location and clean, great pool, excellant breakfast and friendly staff, close to shops and restraunts.
Review 39:2 double bed appartments are not really 2 double. is 1 double+a box room with 2 beds. so is not wery suitable for 2 couples. I think this sould be mentioned on the website before you book.
Review 40:price, Location, staff, facilities of the resort.
Review 41:The Apartments were a little dated but were kept spotlessly clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely quiet week spent mostly by the pool.
Review 42:Our room did not have air con, only a fan which didn't seem to make much of a difference, luckily Menorca isn't too boiling at night anyway.
Review 43:The apartments are very close to the beach which was very convenient. Rooms were very clean, large balcony and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly especially Edwardo. Lovely pool, and fun water slides haha.
Review 44:Having to come home :(
Review 45:We loved the 'can do' attitude of all the team working in the complex. This made for a great fun filled stay on the beautiful island of Menorca. In particular, Stephanie's friendly personality - this young lady is an asset.
Review 46:Stayed twice at the siesta mar good value basic apartments breakfast very good selection staff pleasant.the apartments are a little tired but clean towels and sheets changed regularly
Review 47:No TV in apartment informed that this is only available in siesta mar 1 this was not pointed out at time of booking, WiFi only available in siesta mar 1 only
Review 48:Shops local, good location for restaurants
Review 49:assumed play park opposite would be open which from experience is great for kids and gives parents some me time as completely safe. nothing much else open either. If have kids do not go in May school holiday
Review 50:siesta mar lovely and quiet. pools good. ideal location if have children and going later in season
Review 51:Perfect location for the beach and Cala'n Porter centre. Apartment was clean and spacious and the staff really helpful. Decent breakfast buffet provided.
Review 52:Struggled with wifi. Would have like a microwave.
Review 53:The apartment was far superior to what I expected. Pillows where a little flat. TV remote was not offered on arrival.
Review 54:Wrong season which caused th rooms to be cold at night.
Review 55:All the staff at the Sa Paissa restaurant where we had our half board were excellent, they really catered for our needs. Lovely little cove area with blue waters around 10 minutes walk.
Review 56:the food for breakfast was cold and not much variety same every day, at night there was no entertainment.
Review 57:this is the second time we have been there this year as we like the area
Review 58:Generally everything was fine, if was going to be really picky our bedroom backed onto a restaurant kitchen, which was a little noisy but not too late.
Review 59:Location - great for bars and shops and lovely pool
Review 60:The food was not as good as last year when we stayed there, we were told we couldn't book in until 2 o'clock so arranged flights to fit in with this and then when we arrived at 1.45 we had to wait a further 2 1/2 hours as it wasn't ready so did not get in until 4.30 which was very frustrating for the little one.
Review 61:Staff were very friendly, the apartment was clean and quite well equipped, pools were kept clean, plenty of sun beds and hotel close to shops and bars etc, very steep steps to the beach so not an easy walk going back up lovely beach when you eventually get there you can go by road and it's a bit easier climb back up but still hard going if you are not very fit
Review 62:No air conditioning in the apartments and it was a very hot week, so sleeping was difficult. Oven and hob were not the best. A small complaint though as we ate out most nights and had such a good time
Review 63:Stayed mid September and the weather couldn't have been better. Friendly staff and good breakfast at Siesta Mar. The pools are a good place to chill out, and accomodation is acceptable. Cala en Porter is a friendly place with a great beach. The best restaurants that we found were Dos Pablos where we returned a few times because it was so good, and Pulpo did an amazing chicken and veg paella! Highly recommend going to Calas Coves for snorkelling and the caves.
Review 64:i accept we went in peak season but still feel we paid a very high price for the week
Review 65:very clean complex and well looked after. great pool area and kids loved the slides. excellent location central to bars and shops. staff very friendly. great holiday and would certainly recommend it
Review 66:No air conditioning. No help with luggage even though our apartment was not in the main hotel but further along the road, and across a main road
Review 67:Good selection of breakfast Friendly waiters
Review 68:White goods in Kitchen were in poor condition and let down the apartment. The door from the main bedroom onto the patio had a large gap around the frame and was draughty. The lounge furniture was in good condition but not the most comfortable
Review 69:The resort was superb and the complex well positioned within the resort. We had an abundance of restauranets and found line musice very night to suit our taste.
Review 70:Siesta Mar 1: Room was not ready for 3 days! And we had to leave in the other place above the restaurants kitchen. No TV, no air conditioner or fan. Breakfast poor. Reception staff very unfriendly. Old negative lady in reception. Very slow service and any time you required assistance, the staff could not be bothered. Noisy neighbors. I will not go back.
Review 71:The location and good value for money. Wide selection of restaurants and bars, nice beach.
Review 72:No TV, no air conditioner or fan. In a hot night it´s difficult to sleep. Bed not very confortable and breakfast poor and starting too late (9AM) as we need to leave early to get parking in the beaches
Review 73:Inside Cala Porter good location, easy parking, spacious room and complete kitchen with fridge and oven. Close to restaurants and supermarkets. Fair considering the value and compared to other properties.
Review 74:It is located next to outdoor live stages. everyday until12 O'clock, you cannot only sleep but talk well. For famillies like us, not recommended.
Review 75:clean, kind staffs, nice breakfast, old but clean rooms
Review 76:Due to location being right in heart of town there was a bit of noise from the entertainment, however this finished at midnight, also a bit of road noise and general kicking out time rabble. Also the rooms are a little dated now but as a family of 4 we were eating out for aroun 38 Euros a night so didn'd do much in the way of preparing food. Also no DVD player and couldn't hire one either.
Review 77:Liked the layout of the place, we had a 3 bed appt. it was basic but clean, we were only a 5 minute walk from a lovely beach (albeit down 179 steps so the return was somewhat harder) and right opposite shops and many restaurants. Breakfast was included in the room rate and this really saved money as more often than not we only rquired a light snack for lunch.
Review 78:Interior was a bit old fashioned. Fans on the ceiling made a lot of noise so couldn't sleep. Bathroom needed up graded as bathe stained etc
Review 79:The location and size of the apartments were great. Near everything and lots to do in the evening for all of the family. Food as good and lots of choice. Staff really nice and friendly.
Review 80:Large rooms which were very clean although could do with updating. Lovely pool area and the slides kept our children happily occupied for hours. Friendly staff. We stayed for one night en route to another resort and it suited us perfectly. Very good value for money.

Review 86:Staff were unwelcoming and breakfast was cold, very small breakfast area
Review 87:The apartment was very clean, the pool was lovely, loads of sunbeds.
Review 88:No air con, noisy, cramped, dark, felt like I'd stepped back 20 years.
Review 89:The sun
Review 90:Rock hard beds. Lack of children's entertainment
Review 91:Pool and location
Review 92:In 2015 they should have Air conditioning!!!
Review 93:The location
Review 94:Very dated rooms Food was disgusting. Received uncooked chicken on a sandwich
Review 95:No aircon but ceiling fans worked well.
Review 96:It's not the Ritz but value for money is superb.
Review 97:At breakfast there was not enough fruit, yoghurts etc.
Review 98:Size of rooms better than expected
Review 99:nothing
Review 100:Claire and stephine
Review 101:Steps to beach ,need some transport to take you down as the beach is beautiful bit the trek back exhausting
Review 102:Value for money .staff very helpful
Review 103:The apartments had no aircondition.
Review 104:It has a nice poolarea and its close to the beach and busstop to Mahón.

Review 112:Tha hotel apartment's were good value for money. The breakfast was included and was fab.

Review 114:Beds were damp ants and cocroaches everywhere
Review 115:Leaving the property
Review 116:Wifi not working
Review 117:Very clean spacious apartments. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good choice of food
Review 118:We stayed in Siesta Mar B, not much to do, one small swimming pool, hardly any sun beds
Review 119:Reasonable priced apartments
Review 120:Room not ready at 3 pm
Review 121:Swimming pool
Review 122:Décor bit dated
Review 123:Pools and slides Good facilities nearby Amazing beach
Review 124:Kitchen area was dirty with a very strong smell of mould. No cleaner came in and fridge didn't work properly.
Review 125:Great Location, nice pool/poolside
Review 126:residents in rooms above moving chairs across tiled floor was very annoying most nights after 9:30
Review 127:price, location, staff were helpful, resort was quiet at night not full of drunk tourists, laid on free entertainment every night.
Review 128:We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was spacious and very clean. Kitchenarea small but more than adequate for making tea/coffee. Bedroomshad plenty of wardrobe space and drawers. Safe is 10 euros for the week.Lounge area had dinning table for 4 and a sofa. Some english channelsavailable on tv - just had to change setup on menus to english asobviously set for spanish. Bathroom clean and shower quite powerful.Lots of towels provided- 2 per person. Pool area lovely there were lotsof sunbeds however they did get reserved but as we were out by 9am wenever had a problem getting one. Breakfast was provided in our rate. There were different juices, sausages, eggs, ham, cheeses, pastries, croissaints, bread, tea, coffee or chocolate - so something to suiteveryone. It was served between 9 and 11 so no early wake required.Overall this accommodation offered very good value for money. Greatlocation for all the local restaurants and 2 supermarkets right acrossthe road. Beach is 10 min walk away but it is down 180 stairs so climbback up best avoided in the hottest part of the day.
Review 129:Door lock worked but could do with a bit of oil as it was sometimes tricky to get it to work.
Review 130:Nicely designed set of terraced villas set in a garden. Easy access to facilities, such as shops and a cash machine which charged 1 €. Breakfast was good with fine fried eggs and good quality sausages. Some of which had plenty of spice.
Review 131:Everything regards the hotel was great - however the beach is down hundreds of steps, so unless you want to pay for a taxi, you need to be aware of this!
Review 132:The staff were incredibly helpful - and the breakfast was varied and plentiful. The rooms were large (we had a 3 bedroom apartment)and the location was ideal for local restaurants, bars and the beach.
Review 133:A bit dated but that's fine for the price. Reception could be a bit more helpful on advice on what to do locally. A bit noisy at night but you get used to it and close the doors to the outside.
Review 134:Simple and basic so you get what you pay for. Nice and small, we stayed bed and breakfast and the pool and slides are good, it's nice and compact and the breakfast was good. Also, no mosquitoes which was a big plus for the kids.
Review 135:I did not dislike anything, would just recommend that good air con was put in the apartments as is gets extremely hot when trying to sleep at night. The air con is not a huge issue though as a fan can be bought from the shop just across the road.
Review 136:The apartment was clean and spacious and also had two large balconies, one of which was overlooking the pool, could not have asked for a better view it was beautiful. I thought the pool was lovely for the children and they also enjoyed the slides in the small pool. The staff at Siesta Mar were extremely hard working, we noticed that some worked from first thing in the morning until late at night. The breakfast each morning was nice with a good choice to choose from and a bonus being given until 11-am to go down for it. I think the hotel deserves 3* not 2* it may be a little dated but most apartments or hotels abroad are and what does it matter as long as they are clean. The location of the Siesta Mar is very good, just across the road from some small shops including a spar shop, also right next to a handful of restaurants and bars with just a short stroll to a nice little beach. Cala en Porter is ideal for a lovely relaxing holiday and ideal for families or couples, I would not recommend to young groups of people wanting nightclubs etc, it is a small and peaceful area.
