Reviews for Tugasa Hotel Medina Sidonia

Review 1:Unfortunately we had an evening meal in the restaurant and the main course was very poorly cooked and presented. We would not eat there again.

Review 2:The location of the hotel and interior, it was very comfortable. We would certainly stay there again.

Review 3:The breakfast was for a 3 Star Hotel not suitable and unsatisfactory. Only one roll, coffee and juice, nothing more. The staff was not able to speak or understand a little bit english.

Review 4:Very nice and huge rooms in an old Townhouse.

Review 5:Reception area and foyer was freezing cold. Breakfast was very sparse. Toast and coffee only. Staff indifferent.

Review 6:Our room was comfortable and spacious and we like the traditional design.

Review 7:Very hard bed. No hair dryer. Difficult to find but not a fault of the hotel. We just found a free car park to leave our car in overnight instead and walked to hotel. It's a nice small village so we didn't have to travel far with our luggage...the final approCh was a bit steep!

Review 8:Nice location and lively own building. Very good value for money.

Review 9:The hotel is just two minutes from the main square, but in a quiet location. We had a few problems finding the hotel when we first arrived, but the staff were so helpful. The hotel is full of character, with clean, spacious air conditioned rooms. I would recommend it!

Review 10:parking at the hotel car park is tricky.

Review 11:Beautiful spacious airy building that was spotlessly clean. Friendly staff, good breakfast, lovely old bar with good decor throughout. Incredible price for what you get. Would definitely return.

Review 21:Central location.

Review 22:Difficult to access hotel and parking but this is largely due to the layout of the town

Review 23:Very comfortable with clean and large rooms. Excellent dinner

Review 26:Quite narrow road to enter the hotel parking

Review 28:Restaurant not open even though I had phoned and checked. Rooms and breakfast room v cold.

Review 31:Balcony Large bed Good shower Central location to visit Andalusia

Review 32:Poor breakfast, staff doesn't speak english at all

Review 33:Nice ambient

Review 34:Old hotel in shabby condition. Access and parking difficuly.

Review 35:Available. Walking distance to Plaza.

Review 36:Difficult to find hotel would have appreciated a simple outline map. But staff very helpful once found hotel and parking superb.

Review 37:Access to town and historical sights good. Interesting, lively town to stroll through with lovely views.

Review 38:A/C a little bit noisy...

Review 39:- very welcoming staff; - historical building with a lot of character; - very large, sunny room with 2 windows/small balconies.

Review 40:It was a little cold in the restaurant in the evening.

Review 41:The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Building was charming. Breakfast was very reasonably priced and quite adequate.

Review 42:The hotel seems a bit overpriced for what it offers. The breakfast inparticular was a disappointment, and the least sufficient we hadanywhere on our tour. After a meager piece of toast and cup of coffee,we left for the beautiful city plaza for a real breakfast at a bar.

Review 43:Mostly we liked this hotel because of its location - Medina Sidonia wasa much more interesting stop than we had expected. It is a lovely placeto wander around, and the church and ruined alcazar above the town werea terrific place to watch the sun set.

Review 44:As quite often in charming old Spanish towns, car access is a bit tricky and a 5-10 minute walk to street parking may be necessary. The location can be a little noisy but nights, barring an occasional delinquent dog, were tranquil. One may need to go downstairs for an adequate WiFi signal. The restaurant's uninterrupted background pop music and bull-baiting and killing scenes will not be to everyone's taste.

Review 45:Ample, spotless and smokeless rooms in an elegant, period building incorporating ancient parts; some upstairs rooms benefit from the town's fine views; tasty, ample restaurant fare. With one minor exception, very friendly, helpful staff. Among them a trained archæologist who selected books on her vocation and on regional botany from the hotel's own library was outstanding.

Review 46:Nice old house in the middle of the lovely little city ; very helpful staf, they helped me to find the parking and fetched my car the following morning. Confortable room.

Review 47:difficult to find the location of the hotel. It would have been better to direct guests to the car park first because of the one-way system and narrow streets.

Review 48:The hotel was ideally situated for the local town and also for visiting Cadiz.

Review 49:Restaurant was closed at weekend, but menu Del Dia was available.

Review 50:Lovely old hotel in a white village. Staff all very helpful, felt like one of the family Booked 1 night, stayed 4 days. Used as base for touring the south west.

Review 51:Breakfast was okay. Could be a bit more exciting instead of just little packets of jam, butter, meat pastes. It doesnt take alot to add some fresh fruit available, cheese etc.

Review 52:Stay at this place... its just a wonderful building and in perfect position. The rooms are absolutely lovely and well thought out for guests travelling.

Review 53:The hotel is right in the middle of town, and easy to access other parts. On arrival we were very pleased that the person checking us in drove our car to the parking place, which was an easy place from which to walk back to the hotel, but not easy to follow the one way system there in the first place. The room was very comfortable and the food good. We had lunch and dinner there.

Review 54:The rooms were fairly basic with good beds and bathrooms with bidet and shower, but unfortunately NO hair-dryers and only one for loan to guests from reception. The village is quite basic with a square with Tapas bars, but not much choice. Reception staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 55:Lovely hotel of Moorish design. Beautiful entrance with the usual square portico which was once open to the sky. Very easy access to Cadiz and Jerez - our reason for choosing it.

Review 56:Minor issue with towels was sorted out promptly and without any problem.

Review 57:It is a Tugasa hotel, all of which we have been to have been excellent. This one is in a lovely old town (very Old Spain) lovely room superb food in the restaurant & very helpful staff.

Review 58:Great place to visit, close to motorway, very friendly and helpfullystuff. Excelent restaurant menu. Good internet conection. At the eveningtime lovely place to take a walk and see great panorama of the city.Recommend to all.

Review 59:Beautiful white Spanish Moorish "pueblo blanco", spectacular setting on mountain, traditional, much more interesting than boring mainstream beach hotels and yet way better priced.

Review 60:We found it all to be reasonable for the price.

Review 61:We just wanted a reasonably priced room in a clean hotel which was exactly what we got. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The breakfast is limited to toast and jam but for the price I don't think you can expect much more. Medina Sidonia is a pretty little town . There's an excellent restaurant on the hill called the 'Vista Medina Sidonia'.

Review 62:Located on a hill, and without parking, would not be suitable forelderly or infirm. Great if you enjoy walking.

Review 63:A little gem. An interesting building with an excellent restaurant.

Review 64:* No wifi in the rooms (only the common areas) * the shower can flood the bathroom as the shower head is not installed property * it's a pity there's no swimming pool - it gets really hot in Medina in the summer months

Review 65:* Good location close to the main square (tough parking may be a problem if you come by car) * good size room - it had a small table and two armchairs (a nice detail) * air-conditioning worked well * quite cheap products in the mini-bar (a small beer - 1.25 euro) * friendly staff offered us a plan of the town * early check-in starting at 12 o'clock

Review 66:Rather difficult to find, better road signs would help. Note thatparking is not that easy as it is an old town, nearby street parking isavailable overnight.

Review 67:Excellent size rooms, staff friendly and helpful, great location.Hotel has loads of charm and character. Food in restaurant goodquality and price. Overall, very good value for money. Would considerstaying here again.

Review 68:The only thing that let down this hotel was its breakfast, we had one toasted roll between two of us. While the receptionist could not have been more helpful, the breakfast waiter was miserable and didn't even make an effort to speak.

Review 69:The receptionist was very friendly and could not have been more helpful. The location was excellant within walking distance of everything.

Review 70:Best Location, nice Building, quiet, great Ambience, nice view from balconies.... Very advisable

Review 71:Car parking

Review 72:Despite being marked as non-smoking hotel room was equipped with ash-tray and was soaked with cigarettes smell.

Review 73:Location and town itself.

Review 74:The parking area is a bit difficult to access. The breakfast was very simple.

Review 75:The staff was very friendly. Dinner was good.

Review 76:Finding it!

Review 77:Good central location, with nice room.

Review 78:Streets very narrow and hard to drive around.

Review 79:rural with plenty of character. Views from the castle ruin were spectacular.

Review 80:history and local bars. relaxed.

Review 81:Flash deal very pleasant traditional spanish hotel and cuisine
