Reviews for Hotel Mesón El Número Uno

Review 1:¡Nada!

Review 2:A fantastic little hotel in a beautiful city - and with a bar downstairs serving some of the best tapas we had on a two-week trip around Spain. Don't miss them!

Review 3:The noise from the road outside. Windows need to be double glazed.

Review 4:The staff were very nice and Friendly. location was good. Great Tapas in the bar below run by Pepe.

Review 5:no balkong, no possible to boil water for coffee, no possible to hang and dry laundry, which was important for us to stay for a week and traveled further, moreover was not the towels dry for the next day, a simple drying rack would be great and a kettle

Review 6:location, cleaning

Review 7:The location of this very authentically Spanish hotel in this wonderful city is very central. The staff are very helpful and their bar, tapas and restaurant food were very delicious and economical. Our room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable.

Review 8:Great location for all tourist attractions. Real Spanish family hotel with great home made food. Excellent value for money. Great place to meet the locals.

Review 9:Nothing.

Review 10:Had a room facing to an inner court, which means you get a good night's sleep. Very comfortable room with good bathroom and plenty of hot water. You MUST visit their restaurant and enjoy tapas and sherry together with all the locals - very cheap! We loved Antequerra - a very friendly town with few tourists.

Review 11:We had a room facing the main street, with two windows. When we arrived they were open and there was the noise from the street, but when we closed it didn't get much better... Didn't sleep very well due to this.

Review 12:Staff was nice, they helped us parking our car in the reserved parking spaces they have at a garage at about 100 m from the hotel

Review 13:Great value for money, very pleasant owner and family running this small traditional hotel, well situated in centre of town. Advise using hotel parking facilities as other car park close by was far more expensive.

Review 14:I think the power shower was solar led power because we had 3 days - almost Luke warm water. If any colder it would have been 100% a problem: We are easy going travellers - hot water I count as a basic hygiene necessary combo dot no exception . Needs sorting.

Review 15:Location perfect. Room was two single beds but although the room was unite spacious the beds were pushed so tight together - it was difficult to go in the night to the bathroom if you had the wall side bed. This room was big enough for the owner to re arrange it with some thought.. That would make it a better experience for the traveller x

Review 16:Staff are very kind and helpful. Although they speak little English, they tried to accomodate to my needs. I stayed in Antequera for 1 night in order to catch the train from Antequera to Barcelona the next day. I have enjoyed my stay in this lovely hotel. Comfortable and very good value for money!

Review 17:Great location, including car parking. Very convenient having bar and restaurant on ground floor where you could have great value breakfast, great tapas in the bar or a full meal in the restaurant.

Review 18:Incredibly friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble All linen was clean with a regular change of towels. This is not a Hilton, it a small Spanish family run hotel that is amazing value for money. Great tapas. Go second or third floor. There was a little night noise, but surprise, surprise this is the middle of the town with a busy restaurant. Remember value for money. Nice people.

Review 19:We loved the hotel. Lovely patio in front of our room. And a spacious room. We also enjoyed the bar/restaurant and tapas. Very nice people. We can recommend the hotel.

Review 20:Our room was on the road, and tyres make a lot of noise on cobbles. Our bed and pillows we poor. Breakfast was limited to fresh orange juice, toasted buns and coffee

Review 21:Staff, location in the old town and evening food. A very 'Spanish' place with lots of locals in the bar and restaurant. Value for money in food and drinks was amazing. Excellent wifi.

Review 22:Had difficulty getting WiFi in room and when connected the service was poor in the room. Had to do some work and had to use the bar to get a reasonable reception.

Review 23:Location is city centre and they have garage parking at a reasonable charge

Review 24:No view from windows but for one night doesn't matter at all.

Review 25:Staff very friendly and helpful and excellent and tipical atmosphere.Good position in the center! Good food if you eat there!

Review 26:Booked room with city view, given room with view of a wall. Shower head would not stay in holder so had to be held,to high anyway for shorter people.

Review 27:Location

Review 28:On the first floor it smells a bit weird. Staff don't speak any English, hard to explain what you want. Parking is paid on top but this seems to be the case in Spain everywhere.

Review 29:very friendly staff. Rooms were clean and tidy, a lot more I would expect for the price.

Review 30:8hrs riding a moped to get there, Pepe the owner immediately took care of me and made me feel at home. Breakfast was lovey, room was cool and had a balcony overlooking the street.

Review 31:The only thing that could make the staying at the hotel easier for its clients would be the knowledge of any foreign language from the part of the family and the personnel. We did not, however, have any difficulty thanks to the Italian and French language that we speak rather fluently.

Review 32:the friendly behavior of the family members and the personnel - the very reasonable prices at the hotel and the restaurant - the possibility to see the real life of people at Andalucia far from the tourist masses that invade Spain - the pefect location of the hotel and the town at the very heart of Andalucia

Review 33:There were works going on in the hotel which made it noisy and meant that the quieter room we were offered had a double bed in it which was on the small side. I believe this is normal for Spain which is why we had requested 2 singles which we could have had with workmen working outside the door!

Review 34:the staff were very welcoming. The hotel was in a very good position for sightseeing. The car parking in a garage closeby made for stress free parking. I love the mug they gave us on departure

Review 35:Bed not comfortable. Lots of plumbing noise from the rooms surroundings (flushing toilet's and running water - most of the night). This was a room at the rear of the hotel. In hindsight the road noise at the front may have been a better option?

Review 36:Very friendly staff Nice bar area Garage facilities at a reasonable price Clean room Hotel had a nice atmosphere Lift

Review 37:No onsite parking.but available nearby for 8€ per day

Review 38:Staff very helpful room and balcony delightful good food .We were offered a choice of rooms and made very welcome from the moment we arrived

Review 39:The breakfast - toast and coffee - is one to skip. Bring your own breakfast goodies or go somewhere else.

Review 40:Great staff and excellent accommodations for the modest price. It's a bargain! As others have said, the food was very good.

Review 41:Navigating around Antequara in a car was very difficult at first. Our room at the front of the hotel was noisy at times.

Review 42:The staff are brilliant and so is the food. The location is very good, central in the town.

Review 43:A noisy street and plumbing could have been quieter.

Review 44:Big balcony which was great for watching the Holy Week procession.Private parking at 8 50 Euro very very close. Staff were very friendly.

Review 45:For 35 euros we got a clean and comfortable room with aircon (for heating too) and free WiFi. The location is perfect for exploring Antequera and if you need to pay for parking the hotel offers spaces for 8.50 per night. I parked for free on Avenida de la Estacion where there seemed to be lots of spaces, but maybe that was because it was Sunday afternoon in March. All the staff were very friendly, the attached bar / restaurant served excellent free tapas with a drink (try the Porra Antequerana) and a good selection of main meals at around 8.50 which were tasty, good value and very filling. When we left in the morning the owner gave us a Numero Uno pot mug as a memento, very kind. We loved Antequera and one day was not enough so we will be back and see no reason to look anywhere else other than Hotel Numero Uno for accommodation when we do.

Review 46:We were given a room that felt like it was a single room with an extra bed. The were no wifi in the room despite promised wifi throughout the hotel. Cleaning was so and so.

Review 47:The location in the center, close to many good restaurants, bars and interesting places is perfect. There is a nice tapas bar that belongs to the hotel in the same building.

Review 48:Air con unit (for heating) was not working when we arrived, hence the room was very cold. it took a long time before any hot water came through to the room and even then it was not too hot. Inevitably with a town centre hotel, there was some noise during the night, but not too excessive. This could have been reduced if a manhole cover, or similar, in the road had not been loose - every car coming along the narrow street went over it and rattled it, a noise that could easily be heard in the bedroom which faced the road.

Review 49:The location was ideal to enable walking to the main places of interest within the town. Arrangements for car parking were good and the cosy atmosphere of the bar area very pleasant

Review 50:I went In January and it was freezing. The heating was úseless and the electricity kept cutting out. I found an ashtray full of fag ends in a drawer and a load of rubbish in another. Its good for young sters in the summer but no good for a grumpy old woman in winter

Review 51:The family running the place is lovely and the food was ok, atmosphere in bar was great

Review 52:No heating in the bathroom. WiFi didn't work.

Review 53:Great location. Private parking in a garage only one block away. Room was nice, warm and comfortable. Helpful staff, although only one person spoke any English.

Review 54:A bit noisy because it was on a busy side street, may be a problem for some.

Review 55:The room was basic but comfortable and very clean, the ensuite was great and always had hot water. All the staff' including the owner' who seemed to be there 24hrs a day' were wonderful and so genuinely friendly. would definately stay there again.

Review 56:Staff very friendly. Secure parking not on site but just around the corner. Stayed in bar for drinks and got a different tapas with every drink so no need to eat out. Very cheap evening. Traditional spanish breakfast. Excellent for short stay.

Review 57:WIFI did not work in the hotelroom, only in the bar/restaurant. The room was nice and big but the bed/matrass was dreadful. Way too small for two people and the matrass was so soft, we couldn´t sleep.

Review 58:Everybody was really friendly and helpful both for the hotel as the restaurant part. Right in the centre of Antequera. Large hotelroom. Food very nice and drinks cheap. If you are looking for something nice and cheap, this is the place.

Review 59:Leaving !!

Review 60:Went with 2 friends for 2 nights and we all agreed.Fantastic stay in ideal location. Well run family hotel with very friendly staff. Great value for money, excellent food. Undercover car parking very close to hotel at 5 euros. Cannot praise this hotel enough.

Review 61:We arrived late in the evening and had the most tasty tapas at the balcony in our room. Very friendly hotel, very local, clean and nice and right in the center of town with easy walking distances to the old town. Unbelievable that it only has to stars.

Review 62:Everything

Review 63:The Food was excellent the people were friendly and didn't speak English so we had to try Spanish.

Review 64:Noise from the road, but we did ask for a room at the front with a balcony!

Review 65:Restaurant downstairs with bar and tapas. Nice friendly helpful staff.

Review 66:The bar and the restaurant needs to be cleaned up. Short beds.

Review 67:Central location. Garage across the street. Good tapas.

Review 68:great friendly staff who looked after us and our rather wet bikes. Lovely fish soup. Local feel to the place run by a family

Review 69:No issues

Review 70:Very friendly and helpful staff, car parking nearby, good homely food in their restaurant.

Review 71:Hotel is located in a central area of Antequera. The view was excellent. The staff was very friendly, namely Carmem, Madalena and Melanie.

Review 72:Helpful staff

Review 73:Not much hot water.

Review 74:The hotel was great value for money. The bar was fun with a nice atmosphere, friendly staff and tasty tapas.

Review 75:Noise from the street

Review 76:Great Staff, really friendly, great bar and restaurant

Review 77:Everything. For a budget hotel this is spot on. The owners were brilliant and we enjoyed food and drinks in the attached bar and restaurant.

Review 78:Double glazed windows but you could actually see outside around the window frame so overall sound insulation = zero.

Review 79:Street noise is a little high but nothing to worry about

Review 80:The staff at the hotel are superbly welcoming and friendly. The food is excellent.

Review 81:Friendliness and Helpfulness of staff plus value for money tasty tapas and simple breakfasts

Review 82:Great place/bar/food.Friendly locals.

Review 83:The indoor courtyard room was a bit claustrphobic

Review 84:Staff and the tapas were treriffic!

Review 85:Very friendly family run hotel - excellent bar and restaurant serving great tapas frequented by many locals

Review 86:The excellent location to explore the old town. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

Review 87:Very welcoming, friendly, helpful staff

Review 88:Very friendly staff + gift at the end of our stay

Review 89:Friendly staff and excellent tapas in the restaurant

Review 90:All though modern, showers were very noisy.

Review 91:Bar and Tapas . really spotless modern shower room . clean comfy bed.
