Reviews for Isla Baja Suites
Review 1:There is absolutely no noise protrction within the building. The wooden ceiling is another suite's floor. So you'd better be lucky with quiet neighbours, a luxury we had only part of our stay. Secondly, the wifi in our suite was disastrously bad, unusable for calling people. The manager blamed this on the busy network but that was simply not the case as near his office everything was ok. Very annoying contact with this guy, he spoke reasonable english but didn't listen in any language.
Review 2:Location is nice, the suites are in a very nice historical building. Our suite was large, the beds were OK.
Review 3:a little pricey but good for a few nights treat!
Review 4:fab location overlooking the sea - our room at the very top had veranda overlooking the front with sea view and roof terrace at the back overlooking town roof-tops; it's a beautiful old building with an inner courtyard, beamed ceilings and polished old wooden floors and furniture; lovely apartment-type room (room 7) with lovely furnishings, sitting area, small kitchen and dining area; great location in an unspoiled Tenerife town
Review 5:We stayed in Suite 3 which is in a side street with no view. The room is quite dark and is close to a music school which can be noisy. Also the main road is surprisingly busy. I would go for the suites with a sea view.
Review 6:The room was really spacious. The central courtyard was lovely for breakfast. Good overall value. good location for strolling round the delightful village of Garachino.
Review 7:Tapa bar with barrel outside. The one person serving Who cut up a sausage and emptied a jar of anchovies on a plate. Would not serve a whole bottle of wine. Could have had a two course meal for the 19 euros charged.
Review 8:We stayed in the Loft Suite, and thought it was the best view in town, comfortable beds, and pillows. Tastefully decorated, friendly staff. Beautiful restaurant Took a taxi from Tenerife South Airport with Vivatransfers.com. Well worth the money to be driven by a fantastic driver across the mountains in a comfortable car. Took about one hour. Plenty of culture and great restaurants. Stayed 3 nights home now feeling very relaxed.
Review 9:Absolutely amazing room, makes you feel like you are in the movie about 1920-ies. Lovely 4 poster bed, beautiful high ceiling and view from the window. Mini balconies, tall windows with multiple shutters and details in the room decoration all create an amazing atmosphere. There is a cafe downstairs with great cakes, the famous lava pools / basis are just across the road. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!
Review 10:I think if the hotel would cost 60€ I wouldn't complain. The pictures didn't show that the hotel is directly on a noisy street. We had 2 different rooms- both were very noisy. Either from the restaurant' s kitchen or music from downstairs. I'm not that sensitive with noises, but this was really too much. The first room we booked was shown with balcony on the picture, but we got another room. There was a lot what could be renovated in these rooms. The fridge didn't close. For the furniture is the best days over. Too much money for that what we got.
Review 11:Breakfast was ok. The house itself is nice.
Review 12:I could complain about the speed of the Wlan but that's a really minor flaw. You should rather enjoy the ocean view than staring at your smart phone ;-)
Review 13:Perfect location, great room and view (especially from the roof top terrace), nicely designed, friendly staff.
Review 14:The only down-side: the wifi didn't work!
Review 15:my boyfriend and i were traveling to tenerife and searching for a beautiful, relaxed, laid-back place to stay, and we definitely found such in Garachico and Isla baja Suites. Its location couldn't be better, the staff was extremely helpful (not to mention the people at the french bakery dowstairs, they were the best)... but the best was, by far, The room. It was huge (70 sq meters), with a fully renovated modern kitchen, a lovely bathroom (fantastic rain shower), and the most classy, charming, cozy bedroom, with 3 balconies to the ashy mountains, antique-hardwood floors, carved-wood high ceiling, a chair-longue by the tv, and a four-posted bed... just unbelievable. Seriously, I would recommend it for anyone! fantastic! :)
Review 16:Wonderful old house with a spirit :) All the staff very helpful and friendly :)
Review 17:Delightful traditional hotel, immaculately clean, friendly, discreet staff. Would certainly stay again.
Review 18:Very poor wi-find and poorly equipped kitchenette. No heating available.
Review 19:Tastefully furnished. Characterful. central location.
Review 20:The beautiful town, the gorgeous accommodation and the people.
Review 21:Very spacious and comfortable, lovely view. Enjoyed the atmospher from the cafe below, would defenately stay again.
Review 22:No internet at all- the system does not work unfortunately. Fridge door held on with folded cardboard.
Review 23:Lovely rooms and location.
Review 24:Noise early in the morning ... But you can't have everything.
Review 25:Location, charm, size, confort, beauty, see view.
Review 26:The flies in the courtyard where breakfast is served are incessant and a real pest.
Review 27:Wonderfully proportioned and furnished rooms - although no sea view on this occasion..
Review 28:At €150 per night one expects more than a good location. We booked 10 nights with the intention of doing some self catering to offset the high cost, however the fridge did not work so we could not store any food. (other reviews indicate this has been the case for over 2 months). Unhelpful, uncaring attitude of manager. Reception only staffed 9-2 weekdays. Keys have to be collected from local cafeteria. There is no introduction of safety procedures, out of hours access, how the hot water system and shower work. Although advertised, Wi-fi does not work (highlighted by a number of reviewers) Breakfast basic, poor quality, budget standard produce (highlighted by other reviewers) Bathroom, had towel rack and hooks broken, peeling walls and a very temperamental shower and hot water system. The overall impression was one of lack of basic maintenance, no customer service, the management being only interested taking payment. With some care and attention this would be a fantastic base in Garachicco, unfortunately it is failed by its management.
Review 29:Comfy bed, and great views from suite 7
Review 30:Beds comfortable but were pushed together and rolled apart very easily. Wifi didn't work well in rooms. Hot water for showers didn't last long.
Review 31:Amazing big rooms in an amazing old building. Nice to be able to do some self catering. Great little town. Very enjoyable.
Review 32:Reporting faulty-flushing toilet to management was a waste of time. Wifi needs a bit of simple attention
Review 33:Stunning building , large suite , great outlook. Quirky , enjoyable (so so different from chain hotels) Suite 5 has long balcony facing over the road to the shore
Review 34:Our stay here was an absolute highlight! We stayed in Suite 7, wonderful decor and the most magnificent views. The courtyard and breakfast below were perfect too. Garachico itself was a delight and this must be the very best place to stay there. Cannot rate Isla Baja Suites highly enough!
Review 35:Wi-fi not so good upstairs, breakfast staff not brilliant, but the rooms are brilliant.
Review 36:Both top floor rooms are excellent. 6 has amazing decor while 7 has the best balcony in all of Garachico, private and overlooking the ocean.
Review 37:No one on hand after 2pm on reception. Also if you needed an early start, breakfast wasn't available until 8.30am.
Review 38:Great sea view and comfortable suite. Excellent breakfast in pleasant surroundings.
Review 39:Troubled place all around. No reception at the weekend. No good parking situation, but you will always find a place in the end.
Review 40:Very nice room with nice decoration and details, very comfy bed. Very good breakfast at the "le patissier". In the midst of Garachico, Restaurants, little Shops, a little Beach nearby.
Review 41:There are a number of restaurants in Garachico but some seem to shut a few nights a week - if you are not planning to cook, I suggest you find out when the various places are open so that you have a good idea when to eat and where on each of the evenings
Review 42:The loft suite is spacious and has a lovely mix of modern with traditional Spanish style decor. The view over the sea from the balcony is fabulous. The house itself is fantastic and the decor lovely
Review 43:There was noise from the street during the night, maybe better to face away from the sea and choose a different suite? They lock the only exit from the building during the night. No Wi-Fi except in the café-reception.
Review 44:Fabulous suite, very spacious, traditionally Canarian and unexpectedly had a kitchen too. Views to the sea and the sound of the sea were amazing. The staff were courteous and friendly. Garachico is a lovely unspoilt place.
Review 45:Price was slightly high for single night stay but was worth it. Location was somewhat difficult to find if you are unfamiliar with city layout.
Review 46:Room views and set up was excellent. Located in the heart of the town.
Review 47:- Location: next to a very busy room - WIFI didn't work, owner was notified but the problem wasn't resolved for a couple of days - Owner wasn't at the location most of the day No value for money!
Review 48:Location next to the sea and the fortress. Great apartment Mar de Lava on top floor with big balcony and sea view. Old traditional house, breakfast on the inside patio. Lovely wine bar on the same street a few steps to the left.
Review 49:A bit chilly (sometimes) in the apartment in the evening. No heating. There's a lot of complaints about the parking, but .. really if youdrive 5 minutes to the seaside there is plenty of parking. No worriesabout that.
Review 50:Combination patisserie & hotel/apartment. The staff (owner) everso friendly. I will certainly come back next year. I love northern partof Tenerife (despite of the weather sometimes).
Review 51:It was very difficult to find the entrance/reception. We came in from the ocean side and could not see where to go. No-one seemed to help us either. We discovered later that the officicial entrance is from the other side, but even so the office is tucked away to the side with a little sign 'officina' that made me think it was a private area.
Review 52:Very spacious, right opposite ocean with great views. Beautiful, gracious building with stylish quality fittings. Breakfast very nice in a beautiful atrium. We felt relaxed from the start.
Review 53:There was a big problem with the wifi in the room - although it was featured as a selling point - we had use the downstairs cafe to receive it. The management say that this problem is being addressed, but you might like to check with them before booking. In addition, we were not given a room with a sea view which we had booked.
Review 54:The room was lovely, spacious and nicely decorated. Our room was at the back without a view of the ocean, but it was quiet. The hotel and adjoining cafe had a very nice atmosphere. The village is very picturesque and makes a great place to base yourself. There are many walks and places to visit nearby.
Review 55:The breakfast is a bit spartan and over the course of several days somewhat tiresomely repetitive (if anyone finds this to be an important detail).
Review 56:Its situation in the picturesque village on the coast adds to the overall experience. The room (no. 2) is more than spacious, with high ceilings, and is appointed in an attractive, comfortable manner. It was easy to relax.
Review 57:A wonderful place with the most breathtaking suites! A little piece of paradise
Review 58:that there wasn't often someone on reception
Review 59:the rooms are very nice
Review 60:Shower didnt drain well so flooded the bathroom, wifi was very random. Lovely breakfast area.
Review 61:Amazing room, everything in there you need.
Review 62:Toilet did not work Wifi did not work Reception very poor, no help and the suites were not easy to find.
Review 63:Excellent suite
Review 64:wonderful apartment on the roof, great view on the sea, on top there was no noise of the road in front of the hotel
Review 65:Problems with Wi-Fi, towel change
Review 66:Location, design, atmosphere.
Review 67:Excellent accommodation with great attention to detail and quality at a reasonable price. Terrific hosts. great location.
Review 68:The price is over my budget
Review 69:Lovely spacious room, wonderful design and details in decor, excellentbreakfast and the café downstairs
