Reviews for Playa Grande
Review 1:Everything was closed. We checked in and was told the restaurant cafe was closed for 2 weeks. We couldn't get any drinks, although the receptionist offered to make us a coffee. We drove into the underground car park but wasn't told we'd be charged 5 euros per night. They advertised a pool but that was closed too. During the winter the only bars and restaurants open are 2 miles away at the marina therefore had to drive for drinks and food. If I'd have known I would have booked somewhere else.
Review 2:The hotel was nice and clean. Good wifi. Great view from our room.
Review 3:We were cycling so didn't want the full breakfast but found juice, toast and coffee to be almost as expensive.
Review 4:Location was just outside the congested area but close enough to the attractive sites. Had a good view of the coast to the south. Price was very reasonable.
Review 5:Bedroom and bathroom. Needs a complete overhaul. This is a shame as position to beach is very good.
Review 6:This Hotel should not be rated 3 star. 2 star maybe. Staff were excellent but Hotel and particularly the bathroom were very poor.
Review 7:No pool in the afternoons.
Review 8:We booked this hotel for 5nigts but only stayed one night I booked this hotel fo the pool as I have a bad leg but the pool is closed in the afternoon.which is when you need to be in the pool for the price of this hotel the breakfast was poor.
Review 9:It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Review 10:The position on the beach is excellent. We ate in the restaurant one night and that was brilliant.
Review 11:Car park restrictively small and tight for parking. No tea/coffee making facility. No fridge and a/c not controlled in room. Clean but needed some renovation especially the bathroom shower.
Review 12:Great location. Friendly helpful staff, english spoken for ease of communication. Breakfast was simple and served. Freshly sqeezed orange not bottled etc. Good clean basic accommodation though a little dated. Overall value for money. Thoroughly enjoyed walking directly on to the sea front and beach. Would go again.
Review 13:One afternoon insecticide was sprayed in the gardens and the room and hallway of the hotel were full of this awful smell and it did not go for ages. Because of the proximity of the Reception loud voices could be heard in our room in the early hours of the morning.
Review 14:The proximity of the hotel to the beach and lovely walks along the beach. Very friendly young Dutch girl on the Reception Desk.
Review 15:We could only book a room with single beds and they were tiny. The room had a huge crack 20cm wide running the full width of the ceiling, the shower and taps were rusting and there were cigarette burns on the bed quilts and the edge of various items of furniture.
Review 16:The location and the view from the beach side rooms is fabulous. Staff are friendly and the food is good
Review 17:1.Why should the Del Dia cost 12 Euros on the Naya against the 10 Euros Advertised ? 2. Only comment about Breakfast would be that there could be more options given. BUT, No complaints at all about the Service or Quality. You will see us again most certainly.
Review 18:Quality of food First Class on both counts. The Staff were very good and helpful. Brilliant position on the promenade. All in all very good, other than the two minor comments attached.
Review 19:I didn't like breakfast, poor quality, the bed wasn't comfortable. There were ants in the bathroom an the bedroom. It was hard to find altough it was right on the main road.
Review 20:I liked the marina in town.
Review 21:Too far from the Port of Mazaron. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The hotel is a little tired and dated, although this didn't affect our comfort,
Review 22:We loved that the hotel is right on the beach. The staff were friendly and helpful. The outside restaurant looked on to the beach and was a very pleasant place to relax.
Review 23:bar closed too early
Review 24:Nothing
Review 25:Setting, overlooking sea. Lovely terrace.
Review 26:Some rude British people asked for bacon and eggs instead of the lovely breakfast provided.
Review 27:All of it!
Review 28:My only regret, no English TV , I like to keep up to date with the news.
Review 29:Location,cleanliness,helpfull staff.
Review 30:Friendly efficient clean
Review 31:Although it was early May,and the weather was lovely & warm, there was no access to the pool area, so nowhere to lie in sun and read.
Review 32:Position on beach. Lovely restaurant and great for tapas. Rooms a little dated but everywhere is clean.
Review 33:no comfort lounge i e comfortable chairs poor entrance too many steps i e no wheellchair access difficult with heavy baggage tea/coffee avallable to residents via autobar instead of waiting at bar
Review 34:everything.location.easy park good beach"s/bathing food excellent, staff more than helpfull spotless
Review 35:A fair distance to the town - perhaps there is a local bus, but we wereonly there overnight so used the car.
Review 36:As we were out of season we did not check out the pool, but we weredelighted with our room which although slightly dated was clean and hada balcony within metres of the beach with a superb view of the sea. Verybasic individual continental breakfast which came with a glass offreshly squeezed oranges. In the evening there were three chinese wokstyle restaurants that were buffet style and amazingly cheap. We stoppedat the first one on the right as we entered the town and the selectionof seafood, fish, chicken and beef for the wok was incredible.
