Reviews for Hotel Hospiz

Review 1:There was a restriction in breakfast hours .You were only permitted to have breakfast till10:00 and if you went on 9:55 they inform you only have 5min. to eat then you have to go.This is the first time to hear that .So rude!

Review 2:The receptionist could have been friendlier when we arrived.

Review 3:The location of the hotel being close to the main town. A quiet nights sleep. Clean, comfortable and a fantastic breakfast!! And a quaint old town charm hotel.

Review 4:The cleaning personnel made a lot of noise early in the morning in the neighboring room, waking us up.

Review 5:The location - very close to the main sights. The breakfast buffet - rich and with a wide selection The towels - green instead of white :)

Review 6:We only managed to gain access to the hotel wifi on the first night of the stay. After that the connection disappeared.

Review 7:The staff were very friendly. The bedroom was large and very clean.

Review 8:We came down 1 hour before breakfast ended and you would have thought it already had finished. The staff didn't keep the trays with enough food (even though they walked by them multiple times).

Review 9:Location was great for the old town section of Tubingen. We had a rental car and they parked the car, so even though we paid for parking, it was also valet service. When we needed a shirt ironed, they ironed it for you and returned it.

Review 10:If you have a car, finding this place is a real challenge. Leaving the town is no problem. We got lost 3 times and finally think we figured it out when we left after check out.

Review 11:nothing

Review 12:Excellent value for money, deserving of its three stars. Varied breakfast buffet, friendly staff, wifi worked even in the most distant room on the corridor.

Review 13:I had a water leakage in the room which was quite shocking but fortunately the personnel handled it well and I got a new room. Some rooms are refurbished. The older rooms are a bit outdated and have a strange, unpleasant smell.

Review 14:Breakfast buffet is great Nicely located in the old centre of Tübingen

Review 15:the internet is unpredictable, but manageable.

Review 16:Location and ambiance, truly German "Gemütlichkeit" ! Above all, friendly, caring and very competent staffs. My shared my room with my adult son, who is equally impressed.

Review 17:Very well located but have to follow hotel route signs because of challenging bridge repairs - parking garage but car parked securely on street. Staff helpful with flat tyre and breakfast excellent

Review 18:We booked and paid for the car park for two nights but on the second day found our car parked on the street near the hotel. When we enquired at the hotel we received a discount on the parking charge and an explanation that also street parking also has to be paid for, but we found it a little strange.

Review 19:Great location in Tübingen, very central. Nice rooms and nice breakfast.

Review 20:Not having access to your car after arrival.

Review 21:Spotless room with comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. Location to the town and all of it's restaurants. Very little street noise.

Review 22:the breakfast, it is highly suitable for non-vegetarians, if vegetarian visits the hotel it is difficult. You need to provide some vegetarian disches in addition to fruiets. This would be good for even people who do not eat non-vegetarian stuff.

Review 23:I liked the hospitality and location of the hotel. I enjoyed my stay

Review 24:Little in the way of local information on places to visit etc available. Information about museum opening times was not correct. came for the night kino season but actual & correct dates given by the Tourist Information were different to those publicised on the internet- missed it!

Review 25:Hotel was very well kept, quiet and comfortable. The staff took our car to and from the garage so didn't see the parking available.

Review 26:Extremely hot in the room during summer (no aircon), poor wi-fi

Review 27:Perfect location in the heart of Altstadt Tubingen, good breakfast, quiet and clean rooms.

Review 28:You will not find a better location in Tubingen. The staff was exceptional, the room was sparkling clean, the beds were 1st class and the bathrooms beautiful. The breakfast was excellent. I highly recommend this jewel of a small hotel.

Review 29:Door and windows are not isolating enough the room from corridor and external noises.

Review 30:The hotel is really central. The room was comfortable even if it had only a small closet (maybe it wouldn't have been good for a longer stay). Nice breakfast.

Review 31:The hotel is very close to Schloss Tubingen, which has nice views of the city and surrounding area, and is located in a good area for walking around the town. The train station is about a ten minute walk, but if you have larger luggage a cab might be a good idea (cost about 7 Euro) as the area is a bit hilly. Just up the street, towards the Schloss, there is a small restaurant/pub that has the best burgers I have had away from home. The hotel breakfast is nice and filling, and the staff are very helpful.

Review 32:The Wifi in my room worked only sporadically so I used the reception area most of the time. Nevertheless not a big issue as the hotel was very quiet so I had little disturbance nor did I disturb other guests.

Review 33:Hotel Hospiz is in a great location in the middle of the old town, so walking everywhere is perfectly possible (and advisable!). It is quiet, the staff are friendly and I have little to criticise.

Review 34:Coffee stinks!

Review 35:Ideal location for reaching most sites in town on foot. Great value/price balance. Comfortable room, surprisingly spacious for a single. Valet parking (limited space available, prior reservation necessary). Ample breakfast buffet.

Review 36:In room Wi Fi reception was variable. Check your route carefully if walking from the railway station. We think the route a taxi would take is the best option to walk.

Review 37:This was a good standard 3 star Hotel. Staff were cordial and the breakfast was quite good.

Review 38:They gave me a room smaller than what Booking displayed. I ended up paying 3€ cheaper than what Booking showed. The room was just like a hostel single room besides having a TV. There were bugs crawling on my blankets and bed, first I tried to smash them, then after midnight, there were a lot of them coming out from where the bed against the wall. I rushed out and to the reception desk and told them what happened. The staff came in and saw the bugs. He didn't know what they were. He looked under the bed, and checked between the mattress and the box spring, but couldn't find out where they were from. He said those bugs were not harmful. He told me to dial 9 and call if there were any problems, then he left! Sure, the bugs are not harmful, but why do I want to pay €79 a night for a twin bed where is just 3 ft away from the toilet and there is no room for my luggages and I have to store under the desk, or I will have no place to walk, at the same time, I have to worry about bugs crawling on my bed and between myin the middle of the night? That wa THE WORST place I have ever stayed with THR MOST money I have to pay for a single room. AND I had the worst night sleep during my trip cause I left the light on and kept checking if the bugs were on the bed! Next morning, I even found them in the bathroom!!! By the way, shower was so small that I couldn't stop touching either the wall or the shower door, and I'm a very short and small person!

Review 39:The hotel is right in Altstadt. Breakfast is like other hotels, which is not bad.

Review 40:My room was on the top floor and the wifi was not working at all.

Review 41:The breakfast was amazing. The hotel was very central and just a short walk from the train station. Very clean and spacious room.

Review 42:There is no parking anywhere near the hotel (2km+ walk) unless you book one of their 2 parking spaces - otherwise us 'Altstadt Mitte' parking (others very expensive).

Review 43:Nice simple & comfortable roooms; really excellent breakfast; nice friendly staff; hotel right next to castle in old city centre

Review 44:Wifi connection was terrible - kept getting kicked offline. Staff wasn't the friendliest and didn't tell us breakfast was included with room, so we paid for it, but never got to eat it. Room was a decent size, but bathroom was tiny.

Review 45:Staff spoke great English. Location was wonderful - very close to restaurants, shopping, and parts of University. Room was clean and well maintained. Had 1 English speaking TV channel.

Review 46:The wifi signal could have been a little stronger so that it didn't cut out at times.

Review 47:Great location in the heart of the old town just below the castle and only about a 15 minute walk from the train station. The breakfast spread is excellent with a really good variety of choices. We would definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

Review 48:Wi-Fi weak during the evening hours. I would like to see a small table or desk lamp in the rooms. I had no option other than to turn on ceiling lights-the light from these is not as comfortable on the eyes as that from a reading lamp on the desk or nightstand. Students could be at times loud in the evening, but quiet seemed to prevail by 10PM

Review 49:Location-Ideal in the Alt Stadt of Tuebingen. Free wi-fi. Cable TV with CNN. Breakfast-Excellent (the rolls were delicious, fresh and abundant);something for everyone's taste; the breakfast staff was very accommodating Checkout process quick Minibar stocked with adequate water. Convenient to train station and bus lines. The church bells of the Alt Stadt!!!!!

Review 50:Was difficult to find hotel. Even the locals had trouble identifying its locale. Have a detailed city map in hand before arriving.

Review 51:Completely modernized hotel on the edge of Tubingen's medieval core. Elevator welcome since we were on upper floor. Tubingen is a beautiful time capsule city, being one of few to escape war time damage. All major sights are within easy walking distance.

Review 52:The room is a bit small; if you're staying more than a couple of days, there's only one small closet for clothes and not much room for a suitcase. I only stayed one night and didn't spend much time in the room so it wasn't a problem for me. There was a fair bit of noise from the street, even on the 4th floor. Overall, this hotel is perfect for a short trip but might not be ideal for a longer one, depending on your space requirements and noise sensitivity.

Review 53:The location is perfect: a 10-15 minute walk from the train station when I arrived, and 5 minutes away from all the tourist destinations (the castle, the Stiftskirch, the Hoelderlinturm). The wi-fi connection was good, and the shower actually had really good water pressure, which is rare in hotels.

Review 54:Hotel Hospiz is in an excellent location right in the middle of the old town, around the corner from the market square and just a few minutes walk from the castle. The personnel are friendly and helpful and the rooms clean and comfortable.

Review 55:Per room they gave only one internet password although we were 2 staying and the staff wasn't very helpful e.g. the car broke and they didn't find it necesarry to help arrange the repair.

Review 56:Great location.

Review 57:The fact that you need to login every time you log to the Wifi. The sofa-bed from the suite was not very confortable

Review 58:Perfect location and very nice staff. The breakfast was nice, also, especially their coffee. The room are large and well-equiped.

Review 59:DO reserve a parking space in advance (we did!) and it was well worth it.

Review 60:lovely large clean room, friendly staff, good breakfast, great location - what more can you ask?

Review 61:Wifi was not working during the night we stayed in.

Review 62:The location was perfect, it's really a cozy hotel close to Tubingen old city.

Review 63:None!

Review 64:Located in the middle of town which is easier to explore the small town. Breakfast is stunning which I enjoyed so much!

Review 65:Everyone in the staff was particularly nice, the breakfast was very complete and the location is great

Review 66:The location was perfect for exploring the old town and very handy for restaurants, bars and shops. The breakfast was very good.

Review 67:Nothing!

Review 68:The location! Right in the old town near the castle, and just minutes on foot from the train station.

Review 69:A bit expensive.

Review 70:Great location in historic town centre. Town is fairly quiet at night. So there's not any noise in the rooms.

Review 71:noisy outside during the night Small basic room, not very modern

Review 72:Top location, city center Parking Facility Basic but clean

Review 73:Nothing comes to mind.

Review 74:Friendly staff. Good location for vacation traveller, perhaps a bit out of the way for business, but not really a problem

Review 75:upgrade to junior suite, kids had a bed each

Review 76:The staff were extremely friendly, and helpful.

Review 77:no kettle in the room (cannot make own tea or coffee during the day

Review 78:Great location, breakfast and staff. Rooms are a bit outdated, but clean.

Review 79:Very good location, modern hotel and the staff were happy to lend us an iPhone charger.

Review 80:my laptop would not connect to the wifi

Review 81:Everything was fine. No problems. This was our second stay. The staff was very helpful.

Review 82:We had the junior suite. The staff at the hotel made a nice celibration to my wife's birthay.

Review 83:Rooms not sound proof. Not easily accessible by car.

Review 84:Nice breakfast. Very close to city center. Clean and comfortable.

Review 85:wifi access quite a headache

Review 86:The rooms are quiet and clean, though not very big. Breakfast is good and the staff friendly.

Review 87:Noisy and overpriced. Not very good wi-fi.

Review 88:Good location, nice breakfast.

Review 89:aesthetically mediocre, bed ok for one night but could be more comfortable

Review 90:Very central, value for money, parking valet service, good service

Review 91:Poor breakfast, the third bed it wasn't good, lobby almost not exists,

Review 92:Very good location

Review 93:Wifi a bit on-and-off.

Review 94:Breakfast

Review 95:nice location cozy and clean with a nice view great breakfast

Review 96:Unfortunately, the bed was not hard.

Review 97:Location is excellent and the hotel completely refurbished; clean and cozy. Good breakfast and good coffee!

Review 98:wifi very week

Review 99:everything was great, except for wifi connection. Breakfast was great.

Review 100:Very convenient location to major attractions in the Allstadt. Nice service and personnel.

Review 101:Lift was very small but we didn't mind we took the stairs

Review 102:Unique hotel with a very nice staff

Review 103:Beds--they all need to be replaced. My family has men who are 6' and above. The showers can be slightly tight for people that size.

Review 104:Location

Review 105:Bathroom too small

Review 106:Location Breakfast Convenience

Review 107:The entrance of the hotel is kind of not on the Main Street. But guess this is common in the area.

Review 108:Very central. Clean rooms and helpful staff.

Review 109:Excellent breakfast buffet!

Review 110:No Air conditioning could be a problem if it had been hotter. There was a room fan available.

Review 111:The location of the hotel was in a very picturesque part of the old town so it was easy to get around. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good.

Review 112:Not that attractive interiors, partly highly neglecting personnel (guilty of some low-grade customer service) and simply the quality doesn't meet with the pricing.

Review 113:Most excellent location and fair breakfast.

Review 114:decor is a bit outdated. WIFI was a bit unstable (but working fine when available, so it might have been only a temporary problem)

Review 115:Basic hotel, but clean and confortable room. Right in the center of the old town. Reasonable price

Review 116:Internet in room was spotty (albeit no charge). No parking near hotel.

Review 117:Not fancy, but clean, pleasant and well-run. More importantly, in a fantastic location in old city center. Staff was very helpful; excellent breakfast.

Review 118:The only problem was the WiFi didn't work from our room. We had to go to the lobby to use it.

Review 119:The location gives you easy access to the town & castle; but with the steep narrow cobblestone roads you have to like walking. The Building is beautiful and makes you feel like your part of the village.

Review 120:Staff was somewhat curt. No parking at the hotel but vallet parking. Bed pillows were terrible, flat and lumpy!

Review 121:I liked the closeness to the old town and shops and castle. Very good breakfast buffett!

Review 122:Dont bother walking from the station with suit cases: it goes up and down the hill all the time, we were exhausted by the end. Rooms are not exactly big.

Review 123:Central, quiet location, clean and traditional.

Review 124:Very comfortable rooms great staff, breakfast was wonderful and well presented. Great and quiet area with several very good restaurants and coffee shops nearby

Review 125:Reseption is opened until 11 p.m. Laundry service is opened from 10 a.m. until 7-8 p.m. So you could get no iron during the break.

Review 126:Location is great, right in the historical centre. Fair breakfast.

Review 127:Doors were a bit tricky to lock and unlock. Bathroom was a little smelly.

Review 128:Staff was friendly and helpful. I was able to check in early. The hotel is located within walking distance of Hohentubingen Castle, the university and the town square.

The Fine Print

Due to the lack of parking spaces, it is strongly recommended that guests reserve a parking space in advance. The car will be parked by the hotel staff. The the car will only be moved once a day because of the shared facilities.
