Reviews for H Top Calella Palace

Review 1:No bad experience, but found the mattress a bit uncomfortable.

Review 2:Found all the facilities very good, staff very friendly, despite the long hours they appear to work and hotel centrally located

Review 3:Bar staff were absolutely miserable. They short changed me on several occasions. They made it seem like a hassle to get you a drink. So rude and unpleasant.

Review 4:Food was Amazing in my opinion. Balcony in every room which was lovely too.

Review 5:Unfriendly and unhelpful Staff. Had to pay for remote control. Also was asked to pay for just one day breakfast upfront. Dirty swimming pool, constant noises, very dated rooms, no air-con. Could not sleep at night due to constant noise coming from outside by the pool and also lots of noises coming from all rooms at any time of the day. Could hear everything! Even people in the toilet! No thick walls I guess! Also had to wait for the lifts for a long long time and staff hardly spoke any English! Avoid do not go!!

Review 6:Nothing was pleasant. Very poor standards. Unfriendly staff. Definitely not a 4 star hotel! Also bit of a walk to the sea' and super noisy!!!

Review 7:The indoor pool was small. Football teams very noisy and reception staff showed no interest when advised.

Review 8:The food was good. Martha on the bar was the friendliest staff.

Review 9:The rom had no fridge . The towels was poor . Bring Your own. Bad parking. Resturant sevice was not good. I would not rate this hotell to 4 star

Review 10:Good Food at breakfast.

Review 11:I think the walls are made of paper, you can hear every burp, fart, number one and two, and everything else from your neighbours rooms.

Review 12:The rooms are a really good size. Two double comfortable beds. All the staff are friendly and helpful.

Review 13:Its too far from main Barcelona city. The rooms are not that comfortable as we could hear noises coming from other rooms.

Review 14:Staff was really nice and helpful. Food was also good

Review 15:The lack of parking in the streets around the hotel and the option(8€,30€key deposit) was a fenched off block of land which was probably the site of a demolished building. Very ordinary and not too secure for the ladies travelling alone

Review 16:everything! food was great, staff were lovely hotel itself was fab and even though we went at a quiet time there was great entertainment on the entertainer Paul was good fun. would defiantly go back again maybe next time at peak season ;-)

Review 17:had to pay for the safe which wasn't mentioned beforehand, €7 pd €28pw if you don't pay to have it your insurance would be invalid if something was stolen. Food - vegetarians very limited choice, had to look closely at it because even something labelled lentils had black pudding in it/potato salad had ham in it etc. etc. Meat - husband had what was labelled pork this consisted of skin, fat and bone not a single piece of actual meat. Fish - very dry Lifts - prepare to wait a very long time. as previously mentioned by other people the walls are thin in the rooms. All inclusive card system is a total pain in the proverbial - why they couldn't use armbands like other hotels is beyond me, they could still do the stock control on the till. Very large groups of people who expected you to move out of the way so they could have their 'meeting' even though we were already sitting having a drink - the hotel should have requested they use a meeting room for this and not impact other guests and lots of dreadful school youths that took over the dining room - making it difficult to find somewhere to sit, threw things off the balconies (narrowly missing people below), taking over both the pools during the day and were screeching in the pool at 22:00hrs (the teachers only got marginly involved after several people complained).

Review 18:room was clean, maid friendly and helpful. Roof terrace

Review 19:Poor isolation in the rooms, you can hear your neighbors; poor drinks (red, white wine, drinks from the machine) in all inclusive formula. No fridge in the room, you have to pay 3 EUR to rent one. Safe box is charged too.

Review 20:It's a nice place to stay. Don't expect much comfort (really not 4 star, would give 3 star) but quiet clean, basic, with different facilities (swimming pools, jacuzzis, 8 floor bar and top view; resto and bar, luggage room etc.). The food is really good and very varied. You won't get hungry there! Staff is nice and friendly. The beach is in 5-8 minutes walk. Overall, a good leisure place.

Review 21:The rooms are not well isolated from eachother, you really need earbuds to shield yourself from noisy neighbours.

Review 22:The personnel was very helpful and friendly with all requests. The buffets were stuffed with good food and decent variety by day.

Review 23:Sheds had stain on it up on arrival,, next day after cleaning stain still on sheds , i had to get the houseceaping to change and she was not happy with me ? They only do light cleaning of the room.

Review 24:Food,beds,tv,pool,entertainment,close to beach 5min walking.

Review 25:bad isolation in a rooms

Review 31:Food

Review 32:Everything

Review 33:Nothing

Review 34:Time of dinner

Review 35:Location. Facilities. Good program

Review 36:We could not sleep well there was too much noise from others clients in the middle of the night. ..

Review 37:Almost everything....

Review 38:Noisy room, thin walls

Review 39:No free wifi Hard pillows

Review 40:A lot of pork and chicken.

Review 41:The food was nice. Nice choice.

Review 42:The staff

Review 43:Where to start upon arrival I got charged an extra 100 euros on top off my quote cause I added another person month eirlier Nd they reckon booking .com didn't amend my total second day 400 youngsters turned up completely took over the hotel my son couldn't even get I'm the baby pool cause there was Leary drunk teenagers everywhere food was disgusting I was all inclusive but eat at gringos restraunt down the road all week due to my son being ill off the food at the hotel most days was really smelly odd looking fish on the third day we had Brazilian dances wich were ok but as I was leaving the hotel at 12 in the night to go for food a women stopped me to ask if if seen her daughter because one off the dancers had taken her clubbing 14 years off age on the 4 th day I paid 5 euro for there wifi cause my 5 year old son was so bored even tha didn't work and upon me complaining about the poor wifi he tolde either my brand new galaxy 5 was faulty or there is simply too many using it but refused to give my money back the que for a drink was horrendous at one point 18 mins queuing for a glass off coke in plastic glass but don't forget your two cards otherwise all tha waiting was for nothing cause the won't serve you when we left no one even said goodbye or nothing we had to be out at nine In the morning with my 5 year old and 4 suitcases I previously stayed at this hotel years ago and this is disgusting the roof top is falling apart u will never get me to go back here if you paid me a million pound I was totally defeated spoilt my honeymoon a total waste off my wedding present money

Review 44:Only nice thing about this hotel is the location

Review 45:Breakfast was a nightmare due to hundreds of school children staying there and basically taking over the dining room so it was basically impossible to get any food or find a place to eat it

Review 46:Thin walls in bedrooms meant there could be a lot of noise, depending who was next door

Review 47:Clean, basic rooms and excellent value for money. Good breakfast and location

Review 48:Walls are for sure very thin, there is absolutely no sound isolation. Our neighbors was quite silent and out room was the last on the floor, so we didn't feel big discomfort. Gym and indoor pool could have longer working hours, not only from 10a.m to 7pm.

Review 49:Nice view through the window to the landscape. It was possible to see even small piece of sea through the balcony. Hotel is in silent place, a little further from the main street, but for sure nor far from seaside (5 minutes down the street). Delicious food, great selection. Large and well-equipped restaurant. We had HB option. Breakfast and dinner was perfect. There is small gym and very small swimming pool with warm water in the ground floor. Rooms are very basic - beds, cupboard and table, but it's enough if You are coming to the room just to sleap.

Review 50:As I've said, I did read the reviews and the only things I agree with are yes the bedroom walls are very thin....and the carpets on the landings do need replacing

Review 51:I read a lot of reviews about this hotel before I booked and thought I'd take a chance anyway. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff were all friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were cleaned every day. The food was exactly what we expected in a Spanish Hotel having been to Spain several times. We were going to miss our mid day meal on day of departure and the girl on reception noticed this when we came to check out and insisted they provided a packed lunch for us. This was ample for our needs and included 4 sandwiches, water, pate, biscuits,French toast,an apple and orange. Totally unexpected. Would definitely recommend The Hotel......not so keen on Calella as a town.

Review 52:Noise level in rooms - needs urgent attention to sound reduction Requested a room change Poor entertainment

Review 53:Food content and type Good central position

Review 54:The male staff were not cooperative. The wi-fi was very very poor after paying 10 € for 3 days The staff told me that their wi-fi was OK it must be my new iPad!!!

Review 55:The price was very cheap

Review 56:10 minutes walk from beach.

Review 57:Very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Great food, wide variety of meals and drinks. Pool outside, close to city centre and few disco clubs.

Review 58:Brilliant hotel. The food was very good and varied, the rooms were spotless, the staff were helpful. We also discovered that with our all inclusive card we were entitled to half price drinks at the bar on the beach all day, which was a bonus as we're not ones for lying by the pool all day.

Review 59:The rooms have paper thin walls and this can lead to loss of sleep andembarrassing noises from your neighbours during nocturnal physicalactivities. Be warned even normal conversations are readily overheard.Parking can be a problem especially at busy times.

Review 60:Food was adequate but not inspiring with a rather limited menu. Roomswere spacious and clean with good bathroom and shower. Small fee toupgrade to free drinks at dinner was an unexpected bonus.

Review 61:the television, the fact that the walls are very thin, you can hear everything in the next room. And i mist a nice chair to read or watching the television. And it is pitty that there is so much to eat but the food whas not hot enough.

Review 62:i liked the freindly personal, the possibility to take a picknic instead a meal. that you can come and go day and night. i liked the price and the hall and stairs where very nice.

Review 63:We would agree with a previous review when the comment was about thethinness of the bedroom wall, we were kept awake each night because oftheir talking and activities!

Review 64:The cost

Review 65:Rude people who didnt appreciate the hotel. Mainly spanish

Review 66:The staff. The food.

Review 67:There were several hundred teenagers staying in the hotel the night we were there

Review 68:facilities were generally good

Review 69:Nithing

Review 70:Brilliant loved it would definitely go back

Review 71:Best h top hotel I have stayed at, food was fantastic, kuds club was great as was everything else!

Review 72:The walls are very thin and our neighbours where up at 6.30am and very noisy. You can hear everything.

Review 73:The terrible food, bad service, broken gym tools

Review 74:Entertainment was rubbish

Review 75:Clean and food was ok
