Review 15:authenticity and antiquity of the building and all its contents friendliness of the staff

Review 16:3 generations of warm, friendly women running a really professional set-up in a beautiful, historic building, charmingly furnished with antiques but with excellent, modern facilities. Coffee & foods were continually replenished at breakfast. 4 courtyards typical of the area, including 1 with a swimming pool.

Review 17:Situated in centre of Almagro with street parking, so very handy. Bed so comfy, whole place spotless. Mercedes and Consuela very friendly and welcoming. Although in centre of town, it was very peaceful.

Review 18:No breakfast or beverage making facilities

Review 19:Mercedes the glorious owner, so keen to tell us all about the history of the house. The bathroom was very modern in a 17th century building. The bedroom furniture was so comfortable that one could hardly beleive IT had always been in the room

Review 20:Casa manchega con mucho valor material decorada con muy buen gusto. Mercedes no pudo ser mas amable y encendio la calfaccion antes de que llegaramos para que nuestro bebe no pasara frio. Traditional manchega guest house with special atmosphere. Mercedes the manager could not be more toughtful since She turned on the hitting before arriving to prevent that our baby got cold.

Review 21:Difficult to find. I booked this because the advert said a 'spa bath'.and was desperate for a good soak after 2 days travelling. No baths - spa shower! Could not get wifi. When leaving at 8.30am rang the bell several times, no-one around so had to leave money and key on desk and go.

Review 25:Stunning guest house with beautiful furniture and ornaments. It was delightful to walk through the reception rooms and courtyards. It even has a swimming pool. Wish we could have stayed more than one night. Will definitely stay there again.

Review 26:Almagro lacks good-value restaurants in the old town. There are a couple of expensive ones, but the offerings at the cheaper bars were not appealing.

Review 27:This rambling house is beautifully restored and full of interesting furniture and artefacts. Our quiet room looked out on a little patio and was equipped with a comfortable bed, modern bathroom, and good WiFi. The owner spoke little English, but her son had reasonable English. There was parking in the street nearby and it was a short walk to the Plaza Mayor.

Review 28:Difficult to find anywhere open to eat in the town. Had a really bad meal, may have had something to do with Spain playing a World Cup football match that night, and losing.

Review 29:Wonderful old house. The family were very helpful in every way. We only stayed one night, would happily have stayed longer.

Review 30:Nothing to say as it was all great.

Review 31:Casa was a hidden gem in center of Almagro. Rooms and sitting areas for guests were fantastic and we enjoyed our few days here. Staff were very attentive and helpful with lots of good suggestions for wine tours, site seeing and exploring their beautiful town of Almagro. Breakfast was excellent too.

Review 32:Noisy antique beds when you move

Review 33:Beautiful hotel so much charm and atmosphere

Review 34:Quaint traditional building in centre of small, very interesting, historical town which is a bit off the regular tour route

Review 59:Lovely atmosphere here at the Casa Rural Tia Pilar de Almagro. Interesting little town. Best internet access we had while in Spain.

Review 60:Casa Rural Tia Pilar is a 17th century house in its original state, except that it has been upgraded so that it has every comfort. Our hostess was pleasant and gave us lots of interesting information about the house and the town.

Review 61:Not much of a complaint but, like in Ireland, it would be nice to havetea-making facilities in the room to be able to enjoy the room more.

Review 62:From the moment we arrived, we felt at home here. The owners arewelcoming and friendly. They are also gay-friendly. Casa Rural Tia Pilaris a clean, beautifully decorated, old-style Spanish country house withan enclosed terrace garden. There is even a small swimming pool. Youfeel that you are experiencing the real Spain here. The rooms are alsolovely old-style rooms, with modern comforts, kept very clean, and withamazingly refreshing showers. The beds are very comfortable too. TheCasa Rural is also situated only 1 minute walk from the lovely centresquare of Almagro. Definitely will stay here again when back in Almagro.

Review 64:Hotel is situated in the old building with all charm preserved. Excellent interior decour and atmosphere of an old classic guesthouse. Very familiar atmosphere and hopefull and friendly staff. Exceptionally clean. Very good location to visit old town of Almagro.

Review 65:Nothing - the weather was cold but didn't spoil the stay.

Review 66:Delightful spanish casa de pueblo, beautifully kept, full of lovely old and antique furniture. A joy to stay there. Almagro is a very pretty little Spanish town - well worth a stop over when travelling in La Mancha

Review 67:No complaints at all.

Review 68:Extremely nice and helpful owner, who did not speak English, but was keen to make our stay very comfortable. Beautiful and immaculate old house dating from 1675 just a short stroll from the main plaza. We had a very quiet room on the ground floor.

Review 69:A cute place run by a very nice woman. The rooms were clean and comfortable. My father found it a little dark but I thought it was charming. The breakfast was grand and delicious.

Review 70:People. The two ladies we met were very nice, indeed. Service very good. Breakfast super. Shower facility a bit too modern, design fantastic and mechanical working pretty bad, but this is a very minor point. The place is full of "old things " people not liking this may feel a bit out of the way. We did not mind.

Review 71:That we didn't have time to stay longer!

Review 72:Stunning restored house packed with antiques. Eye for detail shows in every room. Beautiful rooms, bathrooms, courtyards, pool and roof terrace. Lovely welcome and nice breakfast.

Review 73:Super friendly staff, fascinating furnishings, lacework, paintings, Clocks and antiques. We felt as if we were staying in a home. The home cooked breakfast was delicious. The interesting town was close by and offered economical restaurants.Loved the lace shops!Great hotel.

Review 74:A wonderfully converted convent, family run, full of character with antiques everywhere. The pretty secluded courtyards were charming and very relaxing. The bedroom was cosy. The hosts very friendly and welcoming.Fresh flowers everywhere. The breakfast was the best. Freshly sliced Iberica ham, cheese, homemade cakes and excellent. coffee. The location was perfect for visiting Almagro and the surrounding area. I would definitely recommend the Tia Pilar to my friends.

Review 75:Very nice hosts (don't speak any English), nice place (rooms and a lot of small patio's, even a swimming pool! Also good location. I can imagine that in high season little parking space is available

Review 76:Warmly welcomed and given a tour of the house upon arrival. Beautifully furnished with many antique pieces. Loved the patios too. Spacious and comfortable room, delicious breakfast. Close to centre of Almagro yet very quiet, perfect place to stay.

Review 77:Nothing, it's a great place.

Review 78:Lovely friendly welcome. Beautiful vintage furniture and atmosphere. Bed very comfortable. Great breakfast with fruit, home made tortillas and cakes. We found the place without difficulty, and were able to park on the street almost exactly outside the hotel, even though it's on a back street very near the main town square.

Review 79:Very warm welcome and the hotel itself an idiosyncratic maze of small areas with an eclectic range of furniture. No car park but free parking very close and the centre of town a five minute walk away. Pleasantly quiet and the room, though small, was comfortable and with effective air-conditioning. Good value for money.

Review 80:Great place, this. The case rural really is that, an old townhouse lovingly restored with about 8 rooms, all tastefully furnished. Add a pool, a friendly welcome and an excellent breakfast (it may seem expensive, but is worth it). A great place to stay in an interesting town.

Review 81:This is a charming place with loads of character. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The place is beautifully maintained with lovely antiques everywhere. The location is great being less than 5 minutes to the town plaza. I would definitely stay here again and will recomment it to friends.

Review 82:Everything! An absolute treasure of place. A Casa Rural with all thecomforts of a 5star hotel. Almagro is a delightful place to wanderaround at any time of the day.

Review 83:The whole experience was delightful, we felt we were very welcome guests in a beautifully furnished home. Our hosts went to endless trouble to make us welcome, a fascinating house, and the actual room, or rooms as it turned out to be a suite, overlooking one of the courtyards was lovely.. The one tiny criticism would be perhaps one or two rugs would be beneficial in colder weather.

Review 84:If you like Almodovar this is the place to be as he was born not too far away from Almagro but a week end is largely enough.

Review 85:This hotel, ran by two awesome ladies (be prepared for a tour) is a typical hotel of La Mancha: strict, clean and charming. When I was there I felt a great care and respect of the traveler. Just as the people of that area. I was in Almagro because of the movie "volver" by Almodovar. One of the scenes was shot right where my hotel was. 10 to 15 kms away of Almagro are other locations were the movie was shot.

Review 86:BEAUTIFUL ROOMS AND FEATURES IN THIS HOUSE. GREAT LOCATION. VERY ENTHUSIASTIC AND FRIENDLY OWNERS/STAFF

Review 87:Wonderful old house with such character. Felt like home.
