Reviews for Los Dólmenes

Review 1:Hairdryer was very sticky and didn't work which was odd given the rest of the place was clean

Review 2:Private parking, wifi good, beautiful building, very helpful staff, breakfast simple but nice.

Review 3:The hairdryer was sticky and the towel rail at the front of the wash basin made it difficult to reach the wash basin and mirror.

Review 4:Excellent location if you have a car, quiet hotel, good restaurant.

Review 5:Just a shame that breakfast was not served until 7am as we had to leave at 6.20 for the airport and a coffee to go would have been nice

Review 6:The location was great for visiting Antequera and surrounding countryside. Also for access to Malaga Airport the following am with easy parking

Review 7:GPS address vague and had us in a deserted road. Had to ring the hotel to find out where they were. Breakfast was OK but the waiters were very unfriendly and a little grumpy. They let this lovely hotel down

Review 8:The room was great...big and nice balcony. Reception staff was very friendly and informative.

Review 9:Nothing.

Review 10:We have stayed here before and find it a great stopover with its location just off the motorway.A 5 min drive to the outskirts of Antequera. Room and facilities are excellent. We ate in the bar in the evening and as usual had an excellent value for money meal.

Review 11:Second stay here as we travelled across Andalucia. We were looking forward to the bacon mollettes -they didn´t disappoint! Friendly staff and comfortable room.

Review 12:A bit loud if you want to open the window, the hotel is located next to a main road. Location if you want to explore the town itself.

Review 13:Spacious & clean room with a nice bathroom and a terrace. View from the window over the mountains - nice! Location outside Antequerra is a plus if you stay 1 night, no issues with parking (hotel offers it for free). Or if you want to explore surrounding montains. Staff very kind, sufficient level of English is spoken.

Review 14:Pillows not my favourite!! Menu for main restaurant - print out not comprehensive - not really sure what was available so we ate in the bar area where food was very good!

Review 15:Staff great. Spacious - bedroom and all areas.

Review 16:Public areas (patios, room balconies) definitely needed daily cleaning ( cigarette butts, bird droppings, etc). Very slow dinner service.

Review 17:Price, access, good rooms

Review 18:Cuttlefish. We tried it one night but that was the only thing that we did not like.

Review 19:The friendliness of the staff willing to try and communicate. Everything was nicely done and they went out of their way to be helpful.

Review 20:great value for money, clean, very helpful staff, location good a few minutes into the town. Parking facilities. countryside views. Food excellent.

Review 21:First room we were shown had had smokers in it (but room swapped without difficulty). Single beds. No temperature control on the heating.

Review 22:Friendly staff, lovely courtyard, great balcony, wonderful café for breakfast

Review 23:It is located in an industrial area, but as long as you dont mind the boring view from the balcony, its a noce place.

Review 24:Nice building, clean, good food, nice room.

Review 25:Unfortunately the air conditioning was not working. Theo die try to.fix ut. But it was cooler at night, so open balcony worked perfectly well.

Review 26:Beautiful hotel, was just renewed, very big parking space. We needed to park a car, safely (in city center is complicated) that was ideal.

Review 27:nothing to declare !

Review 28:Excellent location for a visit to rural Andalucia yet near busy town with all facilities. Hotel on edge of town made it easy to find after arriving late in the evening from Malaga airport, and easy parking at the hotel . Neat little touches like personal grooming kit in the room. Restuarant open till late at night and served quality meals; (excellent for tired travellers who don't want to drive into town and back). Town itself is only five minutes away from hotel . Breakfast was served in the cafe, which locals also used; great friendly atmosphere, made you feel part of the community. Would easily return for a longer stay next time.

Review 29:The breakfast was fine but really should have alot more choice. Eating in the bar was okay as it was quiet but if had been full it would of felt uncomfortable, may be best to eat in the restaurant in the hotel. Had a problem with shower as the shower head was broken. overall very pleased.

Review 30:It was ideal for an over night stay as everything we needed was a stones throw away as we had a car. I slept well & it was peaceful & no pets. Overall very pleased.

Review 31:Some lights not working, breakfast the same every day (toasted bread with ham, cheese and jam). Restaurant/cafe staff don't really speak English so have some Spanish prepared. Wifi extremely slow.

Review 32:Big room, quiet, reasonably clean, comfortable bed, lots of toiletries supplied (but not shower cap). Loved the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast!

Review 33:Even if the restaurant was closed, the young lady at reception was able to provide two large G&Ts to take to our room. Also she was very informed about the local sites to visit.

Review 34:No problems.

Review 35:We originally drove in the evening to the town centre but could not get parking so came back to the hotel and got a taxi. Much better idea, taxi to the Santa Maria and a drink and then a walk into town for a lovely meal then taxi back. Great.

Review 36:The floor in the bedroom was a little dusty and there was no mirror part from in the bathroom.

Review 37:The decor of the hotel was good, quite clean. The view from our large terrace was excellent. The breakfast that was included in the price was good. The reception staff were helpful.

Review 38:Handy location close to main roads. Easy to find. Only an hour from Cordoba, Granada and Ronda. Friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and comfortable but basic. Breakfast was taken in the bar area and was sufficient. We only used the hotel to sleep and it was fine for that. Excellent value.

Review 39:Situation in an industrial estate was not perfect, but not far from town.

Review 40:Room was fine, bar, restaurant and service very good, and the food even better.

Review 41:This is a super 3 star hotel on the outskirts of a lovely town. Clean and spacious room, lots of locals eat here which is a good sign, breakfast is simple but tasty and it is excellent value to say in and for food and drink. The staff are friendly and helpful. Given it is about 2-3 kms from the town centre a car is required.

Review 42:We stayed to break up our trip to Granada from the south coast. We arrived late and despite the bar being closed we still managed to get a bottle of wine to our room (there was a wedding going on in to the small hours but we didn't notice any real noise). No food available late evening but the restaurant/cafe/bar just 2 mins walk (in to the town direction) was just about to close and accommodated us brilliantly despite the language barrier problems. Visit the Dolmenes which are located 5mins drive (again in to the city direction) after 3/4 roundabouts on your right!

Review 43:Access to WIFI only from outside our room, ants in our room, lack of English channels (beside news channels)

Review 44:Friendly staff, clean hotel, good value for the money, coffee in the bar

Review 45:Air con wasn't as effective as it might have been but in the end we acclimatised. The thing that held the shower to the wall was broken meaning that it was only possible to have baths or a shower if holding the shower head. Minor issues really.

Review 46:The staff were really lovely. Were very patient with our lack of Spanish. It seems a family run establishment and it has a nice feel to it. Grandchildren of the owners made our childrens' stay! They were happy to help especially when I wanted a mojito, the waitress went and picked fresh mint from the garden. I left my iPad mini there when we left and contacted the hotel from our next destination. They found it, sent me a picture of it via whatsapp and have agreed to ship it to me. Food was very good at the hotel restaurant. We ate there 3 nights out of 4 and only did something different on the last night because we felt that we ought to go in to town before we left. Whilst the meal we had in town was lovely, we could have had an equally enjoyable one at the hotel. They clearly have a good chef. together with the family run and very Spanish atmosphere, it makes for an enjoyable stay. I noted the comments from other reviewers about distance from town but you must know that before you book. The hotel don't try to hide it and with a vehicle isn't a problem.

Review 47:It was on a busy noisy roundabout. While we couldn't hear the traffic through the double glazing, sitting on the nice little balcony was not so pleasant!

Review 48:This was a modern hotel built with a traditional internal arched patio. The room was of a good size and clean.

Review 49:The breakfast and the breakfast facilities were very simple. The servants could use some more training. There are no places that makes you want to spend time outside of your room.

Review 50:The location is easy to find, in the outskirts of Antequera and close to the beautiful Los Enamorados mountain. We chose to leave the car at the hotel and to use taxi to the town, which is inexpensive. The staff in the reception was very friendly and helpful.

Review 51:bathroom needs minor attention otherwise I would have given this a 10

Review 52:fabulous

Review 53:The dinner menu and food presentation were excellent.

Review 54:room, comfort, very quiet place, nice mountain view, very good bed

Review 55:Ideal location, better than expected and very good value. Staff friendly

Review 56:Good breakfast, good location

Review 57:Easy to find clean and good value for money. Secure parking.

Review 58:we stayed at this hotel 2 years ago and everything was very good back then so we returned and everything is just as good.

Review 59:No gym facilitiies or spa

Review 60:The restaurant food was excellent, staff.

Review 61:Loud street, far to the center

Review 62:Parking at the hotel

Review 63:out of the center of Antequera

Review 64:very good price

Review 65:Nothing!

Review 66:The room was very clean. breakfast was great and There was a free parking

Review 67:Noisy. Close to the street.

Review 68:Location is out of the town center and on a highway

Review 69:Modern, clean and comfortable

Review 70:No hot water one evening due to something breaking down

Review 71:Easy to find. Good parking. Clean.

Review 72:Room was a little dull

Review 73:Balcony and wifi and parking services and cleanliness

Review 74:Location 4 Km from town centre

Review 75:Big Clean Rooms

Review 76:A LOCALIZAÇÃO, O QUARTO, O RESTAURANTE/BAR

Review 77:Service in restaurant could have been better.

Review 78:Room size. Bathroom.

Review 79:Lovely little courtyard in the middle of the property and nice size rooms. Great quality for the price.

Review 80:Very clean, comfortable and stylish.

Review 81:Wifi did not work Not nice area Staff were ok, but no friendly

Review 82:Clean Beds comfortable

Review 83:The noise (dreadful insulation - especially the bathrooms)

Review 84:The restaurant

Review 85:No problems of any concern.

Review 86:Friendly, homely hotel with large rooms and really nice facilities. Good Spanish atmosphere. Amazing value.

Review 87:Felt we were the only guests. Bar facilities limited did not open until 19.00. Nothing else in walking distance. Breakfast was served in bar area with no real choice, pretty basic.

Review 88:Easy to find, good sized clean room, worked well as an overnight stay would be disappointed if staying any longer

Review 89:Having breakfast in the bar was not very impressive , no buffet ,just coffee, toast and jams,,

Review 90:The inner courtyard was impressive. overall a nice place to stay.

Review 91:We noticed quite a lot of litter in the grounds when we went for a short walk. It does take from the look of the hotel and could be very easily remedied.

Review 92:As we were in transit to Vejer we had our car full of stuff so it was important for us to be able to park safely. We were very pleased that we could see our car from our balcony.

Review 93:Ideally situated on the outskirts of Antequera with easy parking. Friendly, helpful staff. Good restaurant and excellent breakfast in the cafe. Loved the courtyard.

Review 94:if we were to complain about anything it would only be churlish considering the value we got.

Review 95:this was an excellent value h.otel we would rate it top of its grade the staff were great even those with only spanish

Review 96:We stayed at this hotel when we drove toward Sevilla. The room was spacious and clean, with a good sized bathroom, plenty of parking space in the grounds. It is great for an en route overnight stay.

Review 97:I would have preferred breakfast in the restaurant and not in the bar. The bar breakfast was fine but mixed up with a lot of locals in for breakfast from the menu it was a bit difficult to understand the drill!

Review 98:A nice hotel with a good restaurant. Friendly, helpful staff. The rooms were of good size and clean with all requirements needed. A very nice hotel if, like us, you were travelling through the area; it is on the outskirts of town and if you want to be in the old town you should pick another hotel. On the other hand, parking is a problem in town and plentiful at this hotel. You can travel to the centre by taxi. A comfortable modern hotel.

Review 99:The hotel is just on the side of a big road a few km outside town: would need to be aware of that, fine for us as we were travelling to Malaga airport the next morning.

Review 100:Room was nice with a big balcony and big bathroom. Good value for money.

Review 101:Location of Hotel was a little too near the Industrial area.

Review 102:Breakfast adequate. Restaurant was excellent with a very good choice on the menu. Good central position for sightseeing being close to all major road networks.

Review 103:It was not possible close the windows. in some room the people had smoked ! breakfast is basic. no choice !

Review 104:The hotel is outside of the city and it's a big parking; people are friendly, wifi good and room was big with good bathroom.

Review 105:The rooms were freezing. The aircondition didn't work and what we got for heating didn't really help. Never go there on February, especially not with young children.

Review 106:Rooms were big.

Review 107:Tended to somewhat noisy given the quality of build re soundproofing and the fact that all the floor were non carpet Breakfast choice was poor compared to other b and b deals

Review 108:Chose hotel for good road links given car hire Staff extremely helpful and friendly Very clean hotel with daily servicing of rooms

Review 109:Little too far from town centre to walk. Shower pressure a bit weak. Nocturnal activities in room next door!

Review 110:Comfy bed, spacious room, lovely lady on reception, balcony overlooking countryside, easy parking, simple but filling breakfast. Option to have a massage-masseuse very good.

Review 111:simple Spanish breakfast. It's not that bad, but we would have liked to have something else on our third day.

Review 112:very kind staff. very clean room. location is very good for traveling some other touristic cities; Ronda, Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba, Malaga, etc.

Review 113:Breakfast is very basic- small menu to choose from. Wifi was not working in the room, just in communal areas.

Review 114:Hotel has traditional spanish look with an internal patio which was nice to sit in. Also has a comfy TV lounge. Room is spacious for a family and free parking is available on site. Easy location to find at the entrance to Antequera for those who want to avoid staying in the old part of town.

Review 115:The hotel is in a convenient location, just a few minutes from the city center, with ample car parking. Staff are generally helpful, and the food was pretty decent.

Review 116:Family run hotel.Very friendly, modern and clean. The son of the owner who works at the reception speaks very good english.Breakfast was lovely, freshly squeezed orange juice.Dinner at the restaurant 3 meal course with a drink for a special price.Would highly recommend.

Review 117:Breakfast was served in the bar/café.Although really nice. Would have preferred it to have been served in the restaurant.

Review 118:The Hotel was very easy to find just off one of the roundabouts going into the town. Staff were very helpful. We had a meal in the restaurant in the evening which was excellent!! Rooms spacious and spotless.

Review 119:Wifi didn't work in room but it did on landing and in meeting room.

Review 120:The hotel was nicely designed with a central atrium on 1st floor. Rooms comfortable, with en suite and balcony with good view. Good location - close to A45 to Malaga and G92 to Granada. Easy to find. Nice restaurant with good service. Free Wifi

Review 121:There was a fridge but it did not seem to be working properly. Although they are not listed in the room description, having tea and coffee making facilities in our room would have been perfect..

Review 122:We chose the hotel because of its location just outside the town so was easy to find and had free parking for our hire car. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful especially as we had no knowledge of Spanish. Breakfast was the same each day - but was ample and tasty. We had not intended to eat in the restaurant each evening, but having eaten there on the first night for convenience, didn't look for anywhere else - the food was lovely, well presented and great value for money. The bar also served lunches and drinks - also good value. We chose the location (Antequera) because it was relatively equidistant from Seville, Cordoba and Granada. would happily stay tin the hotel again if we revisited the area.

Review 123:The breakfast was poor, no buffet of fruit, juices, cereals, just a bread roll with ham and/or cheese slices and had to be eaten in a noisy "transport cafe" type bar adjoining the hotel.

Review 124:The balcony and views. The central courtyard was very attractive. The Reception staff were very helpful.

Review 125:Breakfast arrangement in Cafe area and poor choice of food. Please serve breakfast in the dining room with fresh ingredients.

Review 126:Room Dinner Very good value for money Friendly staff

Review 127:Breakfast could be better (but again, it is a *** hotel)…

Review 128:Family operated hotel… Friendly, helpful and always smiling front desk employee despite the language barrier…

Review 129:Nothing

Review 130:Staff were courteous, friendly & very helpful. Restaurant food was excellent value for money with good service. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
