Review 2：Our room was facing the street which was quite noisy. If I was the owner of the place , soundproof windows in those rooms would be on top of my list.

Review 3：Almost everything. Great valley, nice house, warm atmosphere, carpets on the floor (clean !) - overall one of those places typical for Germany and Austria - where equipment like showers etc even if it's old, it's impeccably clean and well maintained.

Review 11：The Gasthaus is comfortable and not expensive, great value for money. The really excellent thing is the fine food freshly produced every evening. It made such a change from the usual large portions of heavy food we found elsewhere. Leave room for the desserts, they are delicious. The owners were very pleasant and helpful when planning our walking.

Review 18：The hostess was lovely and kind. Breakfast was good and dinner as well. We liked the location at the end of the town and the scenery of the black Forrest. For variety we dined at other guest houses in the town. Freiburg is only a half an hour by car if one likes to spend an evening in the city

Review 19：very (very) old furniture. poor WiFi. located in a small village. nowhere to go at the evening and nothing to do in the zimmer area. for sleep purposes only. must have car (with GPS proffered) to stay in this zimmer. entrance to the zimmer trough the restaurant (not so nice when it's full and you coming at the evening with your bags..). breakfast can be better...

Review 20：quiet. very clean. nice and advising owners. first floor is a big restaurant (didn't try). located on the main road of the village (easy to find). good geographic location for for "star" trip in Shwartz Wald (black forest).

Review 21：Cobwebs. The location is beautiful and quite convenient but as of March 2014, the road tunnel under Waldkirch is often closed. This is no fault of the hotel of course but it does add up to 30 minutes to the journey to Freiburg. Wifi works fine if you change your DNS settings to another provider.

Review 28：We enjoyed everything. One thing for English-speaking travelers to be aware of is that there is minimal to no English (aside from the owner, who speaks some English). All instructions, menus, etc. are written in German-bring your German/English translation book (we forgot ours!). Perhaps all this goes without saying, but we've been a bit spoiled when traveling in other parts of Germany, where English materials were readily accessible. There wasn't any reason to expect anything other than German-only materials, but just wanted to express it so that no one is surprised.

Review 29：The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely-very large, and very clean. It is the largest room we have stayed in thus far in Germany, and the whole house was very quaint and welcoming. The breakfast was very tasty!

Review 30：If you like peace and quiet this is ideal, with just the mountain stream running by you can relax on the bar patio with a drink. Then eat pike or trout caught in the same stream and cooked by the chef. The cleanliness is superb for example individual towels which you put in the wash basket after use even in the bar toilets , a really nice touch. Don't expect cheap food or drink here though as it is up market on price as well as quality!

The Gasthaus location really gives directaccess to a beatiful environment equally for hikers, bikers as well asthose driving.
