Reviews for Malpais Trece
Review 1:Good location but a car is essential. The views overlooking the banana planation and Atlantic ocean are excellent. 45 minute walk into Garrachico, where there was a good choice of restaurants reasonably priced. Taxis back from Garrachico also reasonably priced.
Review 2:Freedom to wander away from the crowds.peaceful, quiet, a beautiful place.staff were fantastic.would have liked a brochure to remind us of a wonderful stay.
Review 3:beautiful surrounding, garden, very nice staff and met some very nice people, a great swimming pool by the rocks, the bananas were very tasty, recommend the coast walk
Review 4:Difficult to find. - the guest house in not in Garrachio itself so take the road out to Icod...
Review 5:Very comfortable room with good breakfasts and helpful staff. Definitely worth staying here so consult a map before you go
Review 6:Our room was a bit small - just a double bed and a small table fitting in, bathroom was HUGE, probably bigger than our room :)
Review 7:Sitting on the porch listening to the wind and waves from across the banana farms. Wonderful place, though we were a bit unlucky with the weather, not much sunshine. Far from massive tourism, you can calm your mind here.
Review 8:Our room was a little dark but finding downsides it is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Review 9:Very friendly, helpful and communicative manager. Load your breakfast tray and take it to any table in the wonderful garden with sea view.
Review 10:Rather simple and boring breakfast. Uppgrade the choice of cheese, bread salami, juice, ham etc.
Review 11:The setting, with sea veiw and the well kept buildings. See to that you get a room with seaveiw though. Two very authentic and great restaurants within walking distance in nearby village
Review 12:A shame that the wifi didn't work well - gave up with it It would have been lovely to have a lighter room but wasn't really a concern
Review 13:Location in the middle of a banana plantation with sea views was stunning Comfy sun loungers Relaxed vibe - maturer crowd Right beside a cycle path and racquet sports are available Small rock pool available nearby for swimming Staff all friendly and easy going
Review 14:Great terrace Really relaxing view
Review 15:the quitness
Review 16:Finding the way to the building once through the gate (it was dark when we arrived).
Review 17:Room, location, meeting other guests, breakfast outside
Review 18:Location-quietly situated in banana plantation. Away from the 'usual' resorts. Beautiful grounds with flowers, lawns and plentiful seating areas for relaxing. Staff very welcoming.
Review 19:Would have liked a TV with English channels in our room. After dining in local bar on our second night, it turned very wet. Fortunately we had a good book to read.
Review 20:Great location. Beautiful grounds, well kept. Could relax here all day in good weather. Ideal for a few days.
Review 21:The rooms appear to be quite varied; ours whilst comfortable was rather dark (window shutters had to be kept closed for privacy) and lacked its own seating area outside. In good weather there is plenty of outside space to use elsewhere, but it was raining and we felt it a little claustrophobic. It also felt ever so slightly damp - not helped by the weather. Parking is tight - would be tricky with a large car.
Review 22:Location - near the sea and surrounded by banana plantations The breakfast Good value for money Helpfulness of the proprietor at check-in (although we did not see him again) Make sure you get a map - it is not straightforward to locate, although only 10 minutes drive from Garachico
Review 23:tenous relationship between owner and land owner. The latter put a barrier over the beach entrance despite the beach being signed. The hotel was poorly staffed with no control over unruly guests.
Review 24:location. lovely rural location in a banana plantation.
Review 25:The addition of a swimming pool would have been perfect.
Review 26:The location was so peaceful, and the grounds of the casa rural had been thought out very well, with good planting and well placed wicker furniture.
Review 27:It was all superb, so, nothing!
Review 28:Excellent location, peaceful, beautiful garden overlooking sea and banana plantations and very friendly staff. Good buffet breakfast. Free tea and coffee all day in a shared sitting room. It felt like home from home.
Review 29:Nothing.
Review 30:We absolutely loved Malpais. The position in the banana plantations with views to the sea is peaceful and very attractive. ~The manager, Pedro, was extremely helpful, particularly with a problem we had with the car. He speaks very good English. He was so welcoming to everyone and it was a wonderfully relaxing 3 days at the end of a week in a self catering cottage at the top of a very steep, windy, narrow road above Icod. I would encourage anyone who wants a quiet, comfortable B&B to visit Malpais. There are excellent restaurants in nearby Garichico for supper and also a good bar/restaurant you can walk to above the Finca.
Review 31:Great location. Fantastic views. Staffed by lovely people. Very relaxed. Nearby restaurants and Cafe/Bars very nice.
Review 32:The rooms were rather dark, small windows heavily shuttered.
Review 33:Views, peace and quiet, coastline, convenient to Garachico. Good breakfast, honesty bar.
Review 34:One of the best maintained gardens I've seen, perfect views and a wonderfully authentic room, it was perfect!
