Review 1：A steep climb from our bungalow up the hill to the main building where breakfast was served.

Review 2：Great view of the harbor and hills surrounding the town. Great breakfast on the deck, overlooking the harbor. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The bungalow was comfortable and well equiped for cooking. We had a washing machine which was surely appreciated after travelling for two weeks.

Review 3：The view over Cadaques is amazing. This is a beautiful old building, renovated in good form but not too fancy. Don't go expecting polished luxury, more to enjoy a feeling of living history. The breakfast was good. Driving in at night can be stressful – and finding the doorbell on the left side behind the gate is not easy on the first time! But parking is good, which is a big plus in Cadaques.

Review 4：No terrace on room as we expecting when booking, hotel needs an up date looks very tired. Hotel needs a good airing smells like the windows have not been open for a long time. Hotel staff limited, could not speak English or French. Great view however the stairs are killer, no lift to the third floor.

Review 6：Booked an en-suite bungalow and got an outside bathroom. No wardrobe or hanging space. Shared bedroom with a lizard. All this for a premium price - did they see us coming????

Review 13：We stayed in the family apartment, which stands apart from the main building of the hotel. The apartment is well equipped and clean, but smells a little musty. There were some plumbing issues in the showers and toilets. These were fixed by the staff, but recurred and were a cause of inconvenience.

Review 14：The hotel grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. There are many pleasant spots with lawn or pool chairs in the gardens. The pool is great - a lot of fun for the adults and kids alike. The breakfast is fantastic - plenty of choice, home-cooked, and very tasty. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Review 15：Everything. This is such an elegant family friendly, sophisticated hotel. The charm is that the visitors aren't rude, everyone eats lunch at a table not on their laps by the pool. Everything is stylish. It's family run. The rooms are clean and cook and goregeous.

Review 16：We could hear the sound of a hammer drill until about 9 at night. Minibar full of ants and not switched on, beautiful antique pieces but shabby cushions etc. that made it feel a bit unloved. Weird to have 'toiletries included' according to website which actually turned out to a family sized bottle of head and shoulders, as if it had been left behind by previous occupant.

Review 18：The instructions for obtaining the key were frustratingly overcomplicated. Just ring buzzer at gate of main address would suffice. Still not sure if there was air conditioning!

Review 22：Lovely spacious room with very comfy bed, great view and really nice modern bathroom. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the bay and beach is a treat especially if the sun is shining. Although the hotel is up a hill, it is a pleasant 15 minute walk into town. The hotel was a grand family home recently converted to a small hotel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Review 24：Spotty, weak but free WiFi. Breakfast was good, not in the top range of places we've stayed in Catalonia with this offering. Bathroom was separate from our sleeping room; not sure if this is so for all rooms. Hot water was somewhat weak for our room. Swimming pool is only for summer; unheated.

Review 25：Apparently an older hotel and or family manse, renovated. Charming maritime art and objects, on hillside above town in terrassed olive grove. Pleasant staff, none speaking English.

Review 28：We asked to be moved as the villa we were allocated was not as portrayed on the website. It was also much smaller than anticipated.There were several safety hazards for children. The staff were most helpful in moving us. Small ants in the bedroom.

Review 29：The situation. The pool area was attractive had we visited in the warm weather. The complex was gated which was good. Excellent sea views when we moved villa. Sofas were comfortable.

Review 30：With four children the swimming pool was a disaster. Too cold to use for a whole ten days in August! The sea was warmer. When we arrived, after a 13 hour journey, we were informed the property was double booked for our first night, and we were relocated to another house in Port Ligat. The only facilities available were two mattresses on the floor for our teenagers. We did refuse to pay for this night of our holiday. Our four bedroom apartment was located on the ground floor of the villa and the noise from people simply walking and talking in the apartment above was unbelievably loud, and woke our whole family up at 7am every day. I feel that previous reviews reflect all of the villas and apartments at Rec de Palau, I can only assume that the four bedroom apartment is the poor relation of this complex. It is not reflective of the review score given.

Review 31：Stunning views and outside space. Fantastic location. Cadaques itself is a beautiful village. Great choice of restaurants and bars. We enjoyed days out to Cap de Creus and Port de la Selva.

Review 52：While the accommodation opens up on to the pool, the master bedroom isoverlooked by the neighbouring accommodation. Curtains therefore need tobe kept closed to ensure privacy.There was also a lack of pool furniture - 2 loungers for accommodation supposedly housing up to 8 adults. Also the fact that the teak outdoor table directly outside the apartment is for use by other residents in neighbouring apartments seems odd - again if people were using this then it would invade the privacy of the apartment.

Review 53：The view from the pool terrace is superb. The accommodation is spaciouswith all rooms a good size.

Review 54：.pool was freezing cold and unusable .furniture in aptment was old and somethings were broken (eg drawers in bedroom) .beds were too small for married couple and very uncomfortable .had to open all doors and windows as smelt of smoke and aptment was dusty so we had to give it a bit of a clean on arrival .had to wait for 20 mnutes before being shown to aptment .no towels even though ordered on line
